Spy360: Zinchenko can't play DM he is an 8. The closest to that position now is Lokonga then White. We can only hope White is better there. The good part is that we play Aston Villa first at home so we can try both. But I think White will suit more because of his combined defensive and attacking attributes. The closest we have is never ever Lokonga. Abeg no talk that thing biko I saw Zinchenko play deep and positionally stopped some attack against Bournemouth. Why i believe he might not be good as a lone 6 but as a pivot he might try cos he's good with buildup from deep too and he's hardly a roamer. White too is another possibility I would love as Tomiyasu can seamlessly play that RB role without any drop in quality and I hope Arteta tries it. But abeg, no Sambi DM abeg. The way our Midfield go turn expressway again, I can't fit talk. Make we no go dash Aston Villa their first 3point because of am |

timbros: Players mentality is utterly rubbish. This is why I don't blame the coach.
Man City have come from 2 goals down twice and got something from the game. In those two matches, watch the response from City players. Their opponent never rested till the game end. Look at how they were bombarding Palace till Haaland got his hattrick. Compare that game to the casual nonsense game we played last night.
So the coach is expected to come inside the pitch and literally direct the players how to play? As kids wey dem be. Without being told, they don't know the urgency on hand? I just can't get it.
Even Liverpool came back against Fulham to salvage a point. The players worked hard to get that point. Klopp didn't need to do anything out of the ordinary but the boys dug deep, work their socks off to get the result. Why can't Chelsea players show same determination?
Even Man Utd we love to troll didn't concede against this same Southampton few days ago, in this same St Mary.
The coach will do his best in selection and tactics, but when the players decide to down tools inside the pitch, whatever the coach did prematch is rubbish. Actually, I blame the coach. You don't even need to change 9 players but at least 3-4 mentality players and that team will change. Bench Havertz for broja who is hungry for a start let's see Another thing is that, he has the power to change most of these weaklings but he still persisted with them. This is something that the players exhibit consistently yet he still persisted with them. Take Ten Haag for example. After the first 2 matches in which Man u players showed signs of weakling and lack of desire for a fight, he ditched most. Varane for Maguire, Mctominay for Fred and Malacia for Shaw, and you could see the big difference and fight in their next two matches. In fact, with the introduction of Casemiro for Mctominay, that'll be another elite mentality monster. So you can't solely blame the players completely absolve the coach when the coach have the power to create a group of strong mentality players that can create something but no, he still persists with weaklings but expects different results. Klopp and Pep will surely do something unlike Tuchel |

hopefulLandlord: isn't it strange how people keep saying this when it's blatantly wrong? how can someone say Chelsea were leading 3-0 and bottled it when in reality he bottled a single goal lead on aggregate? which coach hasn't against Madrid? even Pep bottled a two goal lead with 2 minutes of regulation time to go same season and same stadium The thing with this thread be say they'll keep on saying and hammering on something until it turns the truth. Just watch out by next year and see how some other posters will start saying Tuchel bottled a 3 goal lead against Madrid |

Silva is done and dusted. He was superb and good during our UCL win, he’s not that Silva anymore. The mugu was there when you guys won Leicester without koulibaly. I don tell Una say as long as Una dey parade that stupid Havertz and clueless Midfield, other teams will be happy. Silva might not be the Silva you know but in scale of preference, he's one of the least of the problems |

johnjunior39: I dont fancy this purchase honestly, I mean I see reasons why omari had to leave. We just got Marquinhos, how will he grow if you dont give him playing time, Reiss Nelson is there oo.
What is the probability that he will come good? This club don't rate Reiss Nelson sha and it's obvious. I think they want to buy him to compete with Saka same way ESR is competing with Martinelli. I haven't watched Omari game but are you sure he can take over that RW spot if Saka gets injured cos I think that's where the club is thinking |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 6:55pm On Aug 30, 2022 |
raumdeuter: For a player to be called a great you need to point to your biggest achievement. World cup or CL final stage are the biggest
Some did not achieve that e.g Alan Shearer but his record in the English league will always be pointed to hen discussing his creds Okay. So how will you grade someone like Modric. Great player or not? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Jodera: 6:47pm On Aug 30, 2022 |
raumdeuter: Big players rise to big occasions and not hide from it. Zidanes greatest moments are not from what he did vs Lecce or what he did vs Osasuna but we all remember his double in a world cup final, His Leverkusen goal in a CL final. We remember Ronaldo Limas double in a world cup final.
Big games make big players I don't want us to deviate from the main koko sha. The poster you gave this reply was telling you that you shouldn't use only finals to rate player and this was your response. So I ask(using your criteria), what big occasions did Kdb and Lewy rise to that made you call them big players using your examples. I mean, what can we remember that as their greatest moments in big occasions as you put it?? |
