Even some men (most likely many) including those who were raised up in Nigeria would hardly fall in that cartegory. So the question of patriotism is debatable for these ones, talk less of those that have have dual affiliation. If a player rose trough the ranks of a country’s junior national teams they will have to pass the patriotic test (if there is anything like that) at some point, to the country they owe. As regards biz decisions, is always a matter of where you think will pay you more. Granted, many players careers have been boosted because they played for Nigeria. And this is true for other national teams as well. rabzy: Money does not make everyone, some people prefer honour and integrity and these virtues are based on feelings and valued by men throughout the ages.
And who says it is likewise not a good business decision not to play for a country that they are culturally and emotionally attached to...how much business can we say has really gone the way of the boys that opted for us..just because they choose us. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:21am On May 22, 2020 |
Some of them are still boys and some are men. You get something up there like I’ve said several times. But Where una dey when I dey make this patriotic argument in the past? Lol safarigirl: Some things are a business decision, feelings are cute, but business decisions are cuter.
People use all their life's savings to travel out of this country, to nations they know little of, in search of a better life. They leave behind the families they know, and proceed to a land unknown and most of the time, uncertain futures, in search of greener pastures that they may not even find eventually. You think they don't have feelings?
Business decision. Their feelings are not a priority.
Depending on the trajectory your life/career is taking, some decisions have nothing to do with your feelings and that is what some of these boys know nothing of- the business of football.
Boys make decisions based on feelings, men make decisions based on realities. |

Oga u get something up there. Big up! rabzy: These things have to do with feelings, a lot of people here have denounced their biological fathers/mothers and stuck with foster parents and adopted another state or people. If i was brought up as dutch, heard little or nothing about Nigeria or probably loathe all i have heard and just went about how to survive and after some measure of success, someone just called from the blues and i said i should come and represent the country. It could be very hard to honour it, even if its going to help my career...We need to respect the deep feelings involved..some might have struggled with the rejection over the years and have just gotten over it |

Oga go and read his full quote. He clearly said he is half Nigerian. Mod Have u wondered, maybe he doesn’t share the same paternity with his siblings because he said they were danish. daveP: The IF was big...
Ehen
Why refer to your siblings as Danish asif na achievement. And then simply say your dad is Nigerian....... You get?
Asif no Naija blood dey dia veins. That's crap! Even if na by nationality, that was a wrong way to say it. Shey i no go join thegoodjoe for Finland like this....

You say I no use conditional, trying to find weak reasons but I did a couple times. Your comments are not justified. Now you are saying he insulted his dad oya apply critical thinking and pull his quotes daveP: Joe, critical thinking no Hard na. How many times make i apply am?
Nothing critical here. I've moved on. Make he dey Lord Bendtner's Corner if he like.
Well that Bill indirectly insulted his dad with his comments. Even if he declared for us, those were insulting words.... |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 1:06am On May 22, 2020 |
What does IF mean to you? Read my past comments and apply critical thinking. It is one thing to play well for your club. It is yet another to translate that to the national team. Go back and read my quotes. daveP: I saw your comment and the furore it generated. And then it triggered a questioning of what Ndidi has to offer. That wasn't fair.
The critical thinking is that Ndidi is tested and trusted. Add a conditional statement to whatever Billing has to offer and we all will be fine. Its worst now that he moved camp and in a very shameful way to us all.
Im not going at you directly, but it triggered something thus my initial post. |

Abi u wan relive Billing experience? players have different experiences. Some of these players parents are immigrants and u have no idea what they have been through so chill. You want to redefine decency now that your foolish pride has been hurt. Welcome to the real world. not everyone will tell u what you want to hear just because you like to hear it. TheGoodJoe: I see some people defending the Finisher Billing.
My point is simple, what happens to decency? What happens to, I am flattered with the idea of Nigeria wanting me but I have nursed the ambition to represent Denmark since I was a child. I want to represent Denmark because of my childhood passion.
What kind of crap is that I don't feel Nigerian? I bet you, if England calls him, he will jump at it. I guess even though he was raised in Denmark, he will feel English.
What crap is, I have Danish Mum and siblings, only Nigerian father? He has the right not to feel Nigerian but the decency should come first.
What happens to I have a passion for Denmark, even though I have a Nigerian origin? I heard Nigerians are wonderful people and it is a nice place. It would be nice to represent them but I made up my mind a long time ago to play for Denmark. I intend to continue to fight for my shirt in the Danish National Team until it comes true.
No one will feel bad or end up in Finland.
It seems these guys feel thrashing Nigeria, somehow proves their loyalty to their home countries. |

very well said komekn: Imagine a situation where our National U17 team went for an international reputation in Europe.
And they were all offered juicy contracts in high paying football clubs. But the proviso was that the must change allegiance to different European nations.
My estimation is that 50% will change allegation there and then.
LOL
Yet we get angry with players who have zero affinity with Nigeria and are even mixed race with little input from thier Nigerian Fathers in thier lives. |

When Donald Trump called Nigeria a shit hole, don’t many of you still love him? What Tammy and Billing said is nothing compared to that. And by the way wasn’t it Rohr who approached Billing? Rohr wouldn’t have if he didn’t think Billing wasnt gonna be a good addition. Finito. andrewbaba44: Some of them might be pained but not people like me

Rohr approached Billing. That sums up the matter. If Rohr didn’t think he would be needed he wouldn’t have approached the Dane directly. Let me see how many knocks Rohr will get now.. like Pinnick got. |
