BUNDESLIGA

Final Score: Hertha 4 - 0 Union
Jordon Torunarigha continued his blistering form since the restart of the league by helping Hertha trash local visitors Union Berlin in what proved to be a second successive win for Hertha without conceding a goal. Jordan who was listed in WhoScored's Bundesliga best XI last week made 79 touches and finished with an impressive 8.5% of his team's possession (the second highest in the game). With 67 accurate passes out of 72 he scored 93% in pass success rate. Jordan also won 4 aerial duels out of 5 (another top 5 performance stats) to help Hertha defeat their city rivals.
WhoScoredRating: 7.31

Union Berlin, already down by 3 goals, introduced Anthony Ujah in the 57th minute, but the introduction of the forgotten Eagle did not yield any positive result. Ujah has scored 2 goals from 7 starts in the Bundesliga this season.
WhoScoredRating: 5.70

Suleiman Abdullahi did not make Union's matchday squad.

Rohr has always said our best players are in Europe. How many of you have attacked Rohr for that?

Abi has he been scouting Africa?
daveP:
I hope you maintain this energy if the person bringing competition isnt from Europe. Maybe Benin Republic, Tunisian league.

No its the truth.

I never opposed competition. Infact i support it wholly. But the way it came about is what i don't like.

I'll hang on to your very words for future reference....

This has always been my stance. People don’t think of the overall good of the team, but they are sentimental to individual players wanting them to have a permanent starting spot regardless of their form.

komekn:
There is nothing UNFAIR there should always be competition for places in the SE nobody build house there , competition improves standards it doesn't reduce them.

First, Billing is a Dane. Can we all keep the rule that he shouldn’t be mentioned here? The answer is no, beacaise the issue really is who mentions the name, Billing, and as long as it’s not me, it’s okay. I promise you I won’t be the first to bring his name up here when the league resumes. grin
elunico:
See who's being adult now. It's good you've decided to grow up. Your newly found maturity wouldn't have you troll us with billing's news would it?

komekn:
I ABSOLUTELY SEE NOTHING WRONG HERE, HE HAS BEEN TRANSPARENTLY CLEAR AND EXACT.

The problem here is socio-cultural dynamics, language mannerisms and perception.

You are TOTALLY AFRO-CENTRIC and as a consequence read things from that perspective.

On the other hand I have both an Afro-centric appreciation as well as a Euro-centric appreciation and find no fault what so ever seeing things from a euro-centric perspective, which is what Billings is EUROPEAN.

That's why i describe myself as Born in the UK but Made in Warri, even when i come to the East you will think i am Ibo that is how well i blend.

You are getting it all WRONG so many of you.

Very good observation. One also has to look at the circumstances.

Modified
I Misunderstood you. But Billing was setting matters straight as there were rumors that were untrue, considering he already had talks with the current Denmark coach, and has been invited by Denmark in the past

mank1234:
News of having to pay to play for Nigeria is everywhere on the net. If you read that too as a foreign born, am sure you'll be more forward than him.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 9:26pm On May 22, 2020
The only thing that sounded odd in what Billing said is “I am 100 percent Danish” but when u put on your thinking cap he also said he was half Nigerian. This seems conflicting and it’s most likely due to translation issues. The player was most likely expressing his 100 percent commitment to Denmark.

That said, when you put Cyriel Dessers’ (who is now become our standard of patriotism) statements side by side with Billing, I don’t see much of a difference than one player showing 100% commitment to Nigeria and the other to Denmark.
Somebody made a laughable comment here that Billing was counting his familiy’s Danish nationality like it was an achievement. When Dessers counted his own did it seem like he was counting his achievements? Hahaha

SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 7:02pm On May 22, 2020
Similarities and dissimilarities between Billing's and Dessers' statements.

1.
Dessers: “I think it is a huge honour that they (NFF) have contacted me and communicated to the outside world”

Billing: “I think there are some rumours that come out of nowhere. When I saw it, I thought it might be good just to make a Danish article..."

2.
Dessers: “Belgium has never been a serious option, that’s why I don’t skip between the two countries. The Belgian team has the best generation ever, with top strikers like Lukaku, Batshuayi and Mertens. Boys my own age, who will play as long as I do. I have no illusions. ”

Billing: " I've talked to the coach, but I know where I want to play. I want to play for Denmark, so it is no longer than that... That's my big dream"

3.
Dessers: "“I’ve never been to Nigeria. My grandfather and grandmother are from (Nigeria), my mother was born in Europe. When I look in the mirror, I see half a Nigerian every day. I also have characteristics of an African.”

Billing: It would be strange to stand up for Nigeria when I feel 100 percent Danish. Of course, I have Nigerian roots and am half Nigerian, but I was raised and born in Denmark.
“I have a Danish mother, Danish little brother and Danish little sister and a Nigerian father.

Very balanced post.
The only thing I would like to add is that Azeez is not a DM. There is no solid back up to Ndidi. We have all seen Agu. Rohr is not convinced by him. That said, all our CMs stats do not come close to Billing. Let's call a spade a spade. But I hope in future we will get a player even better if the ones we have don't make much progress.

charlesemeka85:
Billing is talented and good enuf to make the current super eagles team but losing him is not something we shud cry about. Best bet for him is to be a back up to Ndidi but we still hv Azeez and agu who re worthy deputies to the leceister city hard man.

Also its disheartening to see some folks in here making mockery of those who brought the news of the ex danish youth teamer changing allegiance to us. The truth of he was approached by the nff n Rohr who sent the change of allegiance form to him but after discussing with new coming danish national team coach who assured him that he will be part of his team he had a change of hrt.

Alot is happening behind the scene and we should have it in mind that we must not have them all. Some of these kids have not visited Nigeria before and barely know their biological fathers nor have any relationship with them.

Even if many turns us down I think it will be stupid of the football house and Rohr to stop reaching out to others for the purpose of fortifying the team.

The same approach brought the likes of Moses, ebuehi, ekong, Iwobi, balogun, Aina, aribo etc to the team while the likes of Ejaria, Ehizibue, adarabioyo, dessers, lookman and are few others are all interested and also on the verge of switching allegiance to us.

BUNDESLIGA PREVIEW
The Bundesliga continues today in a local duel. Jordan Torunarigha's Hertha Berlin takes on Union Berlin for only the second time in the Bundesliga. In their first encounter in November last year, the newly promoted Union pipped Hertha by a lone goal in a game that saw confusion brought about by pitch invasion. This time around, Hertha will have nothing to worry as there will be no spectators on the stands. Union, who has 23 year old Nigerian forward Suleiman Abdullahi in their pay roll, will hope to repeat the feat in Berlin.

Please let's stop talking about Tammy. We have Emmanuel Dennis and Chidera Ejuke to invite.

Why hasn't Rohr given these guys a chance sef?

Abraham isn’t much of a loss now especially as his performance have dropped significantly compared to then and now we have the likes of Osimhen and Dessers rising.

Mod
And I mean at the later part before the season was out on hold.
