So your issue na the names? Be patient na.. names go drop.. We are already seeing some officials defending..., so we already know where it is headed. Names will no longer be an issue. Just relax and watch the story unfold my friend. TheGoodJoe: I don't have a problem in players speaking out. I have a problem in players speaking without revealing the true story. Then it becomes senseless.
When they are not mentioning names, then they are joking. See Okpala is saying Taiwo planned a mutiny and he was in the next room to Keshi. He is telling us the game it happened and the incident that led to it.
That is speaking out. Not speaking in parables. |

Good. Can you answer me, what do these players stand to gain by waiting until this pandemic period to say these stuffs? Do you have a slight idea? TheGoodJoe: Okpala did not talk because they let it slide. As long as the bad eggs are cut from the team.
Okpala is responding immediately to Taiwo's claims, not years after. |

But we have to start from somewhere. And it starts from all these that are speaking.. so sit back and relax as more stories unfold TheGoodJoe: I will welcome a full investigation any day. Not just on Keshi but as much deals as possible. Even current one. The jumping of qualified coaches like Amunike and Finidi to prep Yobo without a badge as the next Super Eagles coach.
I will welcome an investigation why the NFF decided to frustrate Keshi without a contract for months. When he had a contract, owing him beyond normal extent.
I want investigations into Erikson's claim that he was asked to share his salary.
I want investigation why Adelakun who has no coaching badge and football playing history is the chief scout of Super Eagles.
I want investigation into why Adelakun should help Rohr get a coaching job and share his salary.
I want full match fixing investigations (especially to tarnish coaches) etc.
I want different mutinies investigation.
Not selective periods when the main puppet masters are sitting safe. Might even be the ones to lead the investigation. |

Okay why Okpala and Keshi no talk that time? Let me read from your playbook. Danielnino00: So we should let the issue of mutiny slide? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:44pm On May 16, 2020 |
I'm saying both can coexist. I am not saying both happened. Those who want the truth will want a full investigation. Saying players should not talk shows you are afraid of something. I'm not afraid of what Keshi's assistants have to say. I accept all that Okpala said but I'm only saying it does not prove anything as regards the prior allegation. Nothing has been proven yet. But my big question remains, what do these players stand to gain by speaking now? you give me a likely answer. TheGoodJoe: There is a possibility on factor might not exist. Like, Keshi never demanding money from Taiwo and that Taiwo's claim he was dropped because of bribe not true. When actually, he was dropped due to mutiny. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:42pm On May 16, 2020 |
Okay if you are saying there is an end goal, then a full investigation has to be done. So don't attack the players speaking out, saying they should have said years ago -- if you are one of those. TheGoodJoe: They were not punished by media exposure. They are not punished for interference by NFF through players to sack coaches by poor performances.
Some of them carryout the act and continue because they won't be suspected. Some of them miss goals, score own goals etc. They are past incidences they carried such acts that flew by.
So what players have done in the past is a big part of it. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:37pm On May 16, 2020 |
But they said Keshi demanded money. Do I have to repeat myself that both can coexist? no waste my time jor. u know the the koko TheGoodJoe: What I find interesting is that Sylvanus Okpala is saying that they can not say he collected money. He was lead tactical adviser and is saying, we dropped this guy because of mutiny. That I find very interesting.
There are things I stomach but make me look at loads of players with disrespect. Maybe I should start pointing it out. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:35pm On May 16, 2020 |
What's the end goal of that? We are talking about corruption and not what players may have done in the past that they got timely punishment for anyway. TheGoodJoe: Call for an investigation for the mutiny too. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:31pm On May 16, 2020 |
of course that's also possible. But we can't know until there is an investigation. I'm against people attacking players who are saying they were asked for bribe with the reason that they should have spoken not until now. What do they stand to gain from speaking now? They should be allowed to speak and Okpala and the likes allowed to defend. Let the investigation start. TheGoodJoe: Or the Bribery also might not exist. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:28pm On May 16, 2020 |
I called that an investigation should be done right from the start instead of dismissing anybody's claim. Wake up from your shock TheGoodJoe: Still shocked you did not ask of verifying claims here but want verification for Sylvanus Okpala.
Why not allow him talk, since he owns his mouth? |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:26pm On May 16, 2020 |
The accusation is not about mutiny but bribery. Someone comes with the reason of mutiny to say bribery never occurred. I am saying both can coexist. Na Naija we dey. TheGoodJoe: Maintain a status quo. Are you saying you do not know Mutiny happens a lot in football? Is it only bribes you know happen?
What is good for the goose, is good for the gander. |

I never attack Okpala.. don't attack anyone who speaks if you genuinely want the truth Danielnino00: How do we verify Taiwo,Sarki and Obasi's claims please ?
If it isn't by word if mouth, then I'm afraid everybody is wasting everybody's time here .. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:22pm On May 16, 2020 |
Apples and Oranges. Players can still be shut out for many reason and bribes can be demanded at the same time. We know as e dey happen na for naija. Abi we no be Nigerians all of a sudden?. Lecturer fit tell you say u dey disturb he class say go resit the course. At the same time you know say your begging can be accepted if you involve cash. Fine, we do not have proof either way. But wait as more stories unfold. TheGoodJoe: How do we verify Taiwo's claims?
In my own case, I already suspected that was the deal, that is why I paid close attention to it. With the earlier fracas with Uche and the Osaze's World Cup disregard of tactics, I suspected there was a big egotistical battle going on in the team and I always suspected our players having a hand in some sacking of many local coaches.
Either way, we can not verify his claims but listen to his testimony, just as people listened to Taiwo's. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:08pm On May 16, 2020 |
So Keshi told Okpala. How do we verify that? And why do we not expect Keshi's assistants to come to his defense since people will suspect they also were involved in the dealings? That said Okpala said a lot in that interview that I agree with. But this quote of yours does not prove otherwise that bribes were not demanded. TheGoodJoe: During our AFCON qualifier against Rwanda, Taiye didn’t play well in that game, continued Okpala. Keshi complained after the match but the players went back to their rooms and started plotting how to remove Keshi. They never knew that Keshi’s room was the next to Taiye’s room.
“Taiye was telling other players that Keshi was shouting on him on the pitch and that he will do to Keshi what he did to other coaches and ensure that Keshi was sacked. |

If them talk can of worms go open be that. NFF officials free for the matter? komekn: Nigeria is not serious and has never been serious about fighting corruption.
Our entire government is underpinned by corruption our electoral process is intrinsically corrupt. Has there ever been a free and fair election in Nigeria in the past 25 years.
Politicians don't believe in elections but in selection. And don't give a toss about the people and or public opinion.
In Nigeria exposing corruption leaves you exposed to the revenge of the corrupt. And if you expose names you could be signing your own death warrant.
So Obasi should never tell names and even if does what will happen ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 10:15pm On May 13, 2020 |
It makes perfect sense to me because I don’t think these players are completely clean. They may have payed their way at some point or have had other dirty agent dealings. But it only takes one player to say it and the others will add weight to the matter. It’s just like accusing victims of rape for not speaking out early enough. There are always underlying reasons for this, but blaming them on their timing is evasive. Keshi’s assistants could have come out in outright denial that their boss never did it. somehow: Do you know what speaking out means? what happened to him speaking out between 2010 to 2014 which is about 6 years ago?
if he was hiding the culprits identities 6 to 10 years ago while granting this kind of interview, we would have understood, of what use is hiding their names again years after?
makes no sense, except if these culprits are still in position of power, he's nothing but a coward! |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 6:28pm On May 13, 2020 |
Are you now playing the role of the investigator? Don’t we have authorities saddled with that responsibility? Shouldn’t the NFF be troubled about these interviews? Use your finger energy to tell the NFF and sports ministry to investigate, not criticizing players that are speaking out. somehow: many of us wants solution and not rumors and noise
we want valid revelation that can be used to punish corrupt people
I have not defended any coach, I have only said we can't use assumptions to nail anyone, its unwise and not enough to call someone as guilty!
I'm being logical here |

Dirty deals is as bad as bribe na. He wasn’t specific that’s all. Danielnino00: . When they appointed Stephen Keshi as a coach, he was acting somehow in which I told myself that it was time for me to leave the Super Eagles.
“I packed my bags, and I told my wife and family that I can’t be involved in dirty deals.”
Taiwo's statement... No mention of being asked to pay bribe.. |

Some of these players have actually paid their way into the team so it’s a very touch subject for them. But most of the blame go to the coaches for making it possible. You guys should stop castigating players who speak out unless you are happy with the culture. Na dem get their mouth whether they mention name or not. Stop the attack. |
