it seems you've not been watching super eagles matches....
when has etebo performed as an AM?
sometimes some of US just wanna talk....

a player that can barely create space and make string passes upfront...
no doubt he is one of the best CM option we have in the super eagles...but as an AM...

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr wants Lookman to ditch England for Nigeria
Gbenga Adewoye
13:46 26/10/2018

The Everton forward is eligible to play for the west Africans despite representing England at the youth level

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr is hoping Ademola Lookman will switch allegiance to represent the Super Eagles.

The forward currently features for England at youth level and had them to win the U20 World Cup in 2017. However, he is still eligible to represent his parents' country, Nigeria.
The 21-year-old was impressive on loan with German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig last season though he has struggled for game time since he joined Everton in 2017 from Charlton Athletic.

However, the 65-year-old gaffer is confident that the youngster will add value to his team, although, aware that the process can be tedious.

"He plays for the youth now but we hope he can change his mind and play for us," Rohr told BBC Sport.
"He's a player we know can add something to the team.
"Getting a player to change his national choice is not easy, quick and the process is never so straightforward.
"First we must be sure he wants to come. And hope to get it cleared by Fifa.
"Then the most important part is that he brings something new, different and better than we have."

With Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Henry Onyekuru and Samuel Kalu impressing on the wings, the German tactician is upbeat that the addition of the forward will give him more options upfront.

"Every coach wants options, we've been lucky to get some players and if we get him, Lookman will give us more options," he continued.

"But we have to be careful about how we go about this because Nigeria have some good players at home and playing outside."
Previously, the Nigeria Football Federation have successfully persuaded former England youth internationals Sone Aluko, Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, Alex Iwobi and Ola Aina to play for the country.

He gets mentioned more really? Ok o

BascoVanVeli:
Saying a player should not have been invited does not constitute celebration. Odey gets mentioned more than those guys because he plays every week. Everytime I post about him people always say good things so I can't agree with anything you are saying

International Friendly

Nigeria vs Uganda at Asaba Stadium

Tuesday 20th November 2018

FUFA has confirmed that an international friendly has been lined up for Uganda Cranes to play Nigeria Super Eagles at Asaba Stadium on Tuesday 20th November 2018.

The match will come three days after the 2019 Total Nations cup qualifier between Uganda Cranes and Cape Verde at Namboole stadium.

The latest development has been confirmed by the FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein.

‘The Uganda Cranes technical team will make use of the FIFA International break that runs from 12th-20th November by playing a high profile friendly with the former African Champions. Matches between these two soccer giants have always been so close since time immemorial’ said Hussein.

‘A 30man contingent will depart on 18th November 2018 for the trip to Nigeria. The foreign based players in the contingent will then connect to their respective clubs after the friendly’ added Hussein

Both Nations will field National A men’s teams. The two teams last met in 2015 when Uganda Cranes edged the Super Eagles 1-0 at Ibo Akwa Stadium.

Rohr: Super Eagles want revenge against South Africa

Gernot Rohr has said the Super Eagles will be seeking to avenge a 2-0 home loss against South Africa when both teams battle again next month for places at the 2019 AFCON.

Bafana Bafana recorded their first-ever official win over Nigeria in June 2017 when they won 2-0 in Uyo.

The two teams clash again on November 17 in Johannesburg with Nigeria needing just a point to qualify for Cameroon 2019.

Rohr said the home loss to South Africa still rankles and he hopes his team could now get their pound of flesh.

“The defeat still hurts and we want to take revenge for it,” the coach told Kick Off Magazine.

“They beat us with strong counter attacks in Uyo.

“We dominated the game and actually played quite well in first half, but didn’t score.

“And then they attacked us on the counter, one towards the end when we pressed for the equalizer

He continued: “It was in June 2017, which is now quite a long time ago.

“I remember we had many players absent at the time, with that match taking place in the break between the seasons.

“I’m happy that everyone will be available this time around and that our team can get revenge for that defeat.”

Rohr picked striker Percy Tau as his best South Africa player.

ROFL
Humility017:
so at last rohr now know...that there is a good AM in the championship in the name of EZE worthy to be in the super eagles..
.

rohr is a very biased coach I must say...had it been that young man was in Germany even in the lower Division with such blazing performance he would have called him up since...

that man sentiment is killing super eagles in some way.

safarigirl:
So, Gernot Rohr was robbed in Asaba..... Nigerians can never pass up an avenue to show their talent, can they?

Asaba boys have done well, the final home game will be played in Uyo, at least Uyo boys don't go about robbing people

Who Rohr wan rear?

raindodger13:
Its funny you said that because I was going to say his skill set reminds me of a young jj okocha. He's only 19 though and he's not completly "there" yet. Rohr can still invite him , rear him up, and track his growth.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 12:56pm On Oct 26, 2018
I agree very purpose driven player. Not taking anything away from the legendary Okocha.

komekn:
That battle got very dirty behind the scenes.

In my opinion Oruma was not as talented and skillful as JJay but was sometimes more effective in his outcome delivery = end product and certainly more disciplined and a better team player.

I forgot Iwobi was an AMF? Lol and if Iwobi were injured who would u have replaced him with? Smh
BascoVanVeli:
They are not questioning any thing, they are bare facts. So for your mind every Nigerian not playing for us is unpatriotic? Like you rightly said it is a choice and I look at it as such. I don't hate Eze or any other boy that wants to represent England but if they are not willing I won't lose sleep. Not because we are Brazil but out of respect for the guys who we already have. Joebie was so hot about Ebere that he even forgot Iwobi was an AMF. I would love to see all good talent in the SE but the coach gets paid to only pick so many. I am not in love with Rohr's tactics but we can't underrate what that man as done for our football. Not just Ighalo, he gave the fans confidence in their team
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 11:37pm On Oct 25, 2018
That was sarcasm intended for Basco.

Who would even think he consciously chose to do it? grin
Curtisaxel7:
Okwaraji didn't DECIDE to die for Nigeria. He happened to have a fatal heart attack while on the pitch for the GWG, it could have happened to him even if he was in his house.

His patriotism is not in doubt of course, but just to set the records straight, he didn't CONCIOUSLY CHOOSE to do it.

Howabout Okwaraji who put sentiments first deciding to die for his country? grin

ChrisKels:
I understand that bro. Just trynna correct some mirthful notions that his honoring of the English U20 call up was lack of patriotism to Nigeria.

I doubt some people understand what it means to have a rich Resume or Curriculum Vitae. Do u know what that singular call up or appearance wt the U20 has done to his CV? Thats whats called being a professional. U gotta be serious with ur career(job). If I had you under my pay roll and you placed patriotism(sentiments) before ur job, then expect ur sack letters. I wouldn't even hire u if u gave me answer through same line as Basco, if I threw a similar qstn at u during the interviews. it's dicey though, but, I would see u as an unserious applicant.

Bro. I just told u I have been using that term, foolish pride, prior to that Eze argument u seem to be focusing on. You can do an easy NL search on the term. grin

BascoVanVeli:
A man that stands for nothing will fall for anything. I rather my opinion be bashed by people I don't know than to come here and start recreating myself. I can't help that you don't like it but you have to deal with it

Eze is one example out of many, gat it? That’s not when i started using that term, and Eze’s case is ONLY appropriate because of your comments on him, which mirrors the way many Nigerians think.

BascoVanVeli:
What other player did we discuss? Now you want to start telling fibs abi? So foolish pride wasn't what you said we had because we didn't give Eze a late invite? Fear god o!!
