Hahaha all these wayo patriots. Patriotism only for another person matter. ChrisKels: This has nothing to do with feeding, dont misconstrue that message. I meant ultra professionalism. For goodness sake, these players chose this career path for one major reason(the pay), the fun part of it is secondary. So if u were in Ebere Eze's, u would decline the English call for risible reason that u are waiting for a Nigerian call up. So as a professional (say architect), u are torn between two job offers, one from ur state and another from Abia. While ur state keeps over looking u for some less competent guys, fortunately u get a call up from Abia that uv been hired, u would confidently turn down Abia just to prove ur loyalty to ur so called state who has been neglecting u? Den, u go home and tell ur family u gotta stay till ur state offer comes up? Dude u are funny. |

Foolish pride covers all the “two passport” (your terminology) players you in particular have made it seem like we are begging or are giving special consideration, including those who are proven but have once turned down our approach. How is that only about Eze? You just brought in Eze to this convo bro. So Rohr is now Nigeria? Of course he is working in the Nigerian environment and ther will definitely be outcries from most of you. But only he knows when to insist. BascoVanVeli: You know you were talking about Eze so why change your tune now? Because you never heard me or even Rohr for that matter give that as a reason not to go for a player. U forget Ebuehi turned down his first call up and Rohr called him again even though there was outcry. |

Foolish pride is the context man. Same reason we would say if a player turned down Nigeria in the past we should never forgive them even when they reconsider. U brought in Eze. BascoVanVeli: Dude do you even know what you are arguing about? I was talking about Mfon Udoh so how can you even make Ebere Eze apply here? |

forgiveness: Eagles Would Present A Strong Squad Against Seychelles–Rohr
By Our Reporter Last updated Oct 24, 2018 Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has assured that a strong squad would be assembled for the team’s last Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Seychelles in Nigeria.
“We would still present it’s best squad for the Seychelles game even if it has qualified before then, noting that the game would be used to continue to develop the team and prepare for the Nations Cup.
The Eagles defeated the Pirates at home 3-0 with goals from Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa and chidozie Awaziem.
Rohr has assured home-based players of the opportunity to play for the national team provided their performance can better the ones already in the team.
Rohr stated this at the presentation of a two-wheeler to him by the Simba Group at Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday night.
While stating that some local stars have been penciled down for invitation in the near future, he however lamented that it is impossible to bring in the local players at this time because the league has been on a long recess.
“The home-based players will get their chance in the team if they can show that they are better than the ones currently in the team. But the players are not playing regularly so they can be in the national team,” he added.
He urged Nigerians to be patient with Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who he described as the best for now. He also said he would give another goalkeeper a look-in if the goalkeeper trainer gives the go ahead.
“I think we should give Uzoho a chance even if he makes mistakes in games because as a young player, he is the solution for the future. He need everyones support and we will give him all the backing he need to excel.

The goalkeeping position is a delicate one and we don’t need to change goalkeepers all the time,” the coach told Sportinglife.ng.
He also lamented the unavailability of more suitable playing Stadia in Nigeria, adding that the team would like to play in Abuja and Lagos.

Who is our best player today? Can u tell who will be our best player in 2019 and the years after? Same reason why we are not giving our promising most gifted kids the best environment to grow in this country. If they don’t go abroad, they are finished. It’s a Nigerian problem. Next thing You go ask whether the pikin na Albert Einstein. Crazy mentality.. BascoVanVeli: Is Ebere Eze our captain and best player? I still say you were wrong. The boy should wait his turn like everyone else. I trust Rohr in that he wants the best for us. Did we cry about Collins? Rohr found him without our help so lets keep giving the uncle his respect. |

a fan and throwing objects on the pitch shows measures were at least put in place. We are talking about FANS, not a fan here. Like I said earlier we can always find an excuse for every negative thing that happens here by citing one country to another. But the problem is, it is ALL happening here. Danielnino00: During the world cup final, a fan invaded the pitch.did u think FIFA and the organizing committee didn't put enough measures in place to prevent such ? in some league games in Europe fans usually throw objects into the pitch and uefa are constantly dishing out fines and stadium bans to clubs over fans violence.. I'm not making any excuse as far as fans invasion on the pitch is concerned... it's common every where.... |

Starting Isaac Success alone helped Watford beat Wolverhampton Wanderers - Javi Gracia 22/10/2018 https://images-performgroup-com.cdn.ampproject.org/ii/w680/s/images.performgroup.com/di/library/GOAL/fd/16/troy-deeney-isaac-success-watford_1wnrr5w5wcuhz1n9b99wi6az1q.jpgIsaac Success was handed his first start in the English Premier League this season and was crucial to Watford securing a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to coach Javi Gracia. After a bright, unprecedented start to the season, the Hornets were dealt a rude awakening by Manchester United on Matchday 5, narrowly losing the game 2-1. And prior to Saturday’s win, the Vicarage Road outfit hit a slump, winless in their next three league games. Ahead of the travel to the Molineux Stadium, captain Troy Deeney picked up a hamstring strain and could not make the trip. However, stunners from Etienne Capoue and Roberto Pereyra in the 20th and 21st minutes helped the visitors return to winning ways and the manager has highlighted the effect of his tactical switch. “We were playing with one striker and Roberto, Gerard [Deulofeu] and Will [Hughes] behind him [Success]. You can find a different style of play than you can with two strikers,” Gracia said. “I know Gerard is not in the best condition yet but he helped the team to play well and to get a good result.” According to Gracia, Deeney is not expected to sit out for long as he should be ready for Huddersfield Town’s visit. However, it is yet to be seen what role Success plays for the seventh-placed side on Saturday. —goal |

Arsenal star Alex Iwobi credits Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery with his improvement this season[img] https://metrouk2.files./2018/10/gettyimages-1052762620.jpg[/img] Alex Iwobi revealed the role Mesut Ozil and Unai Emery have played in helping him produce his best football for Arsenal in his career. The 22-year-old has always shown glimpses of his potential under Arsene Wenger, but has managed to reach new heights with Emery as his coach this season. Iwobi picked up the man-of-the-match award in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Monday, ahead of goalscorers Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Ozil captained Arsenal against Leicester and inspired the comeback victory with a superb finish, and Iwobi hailed the forward for his help on the training pitch. ‘I have been training with him since I was 17 and I have seen what he can do,’ Iwobi said. ‘The quality he has is not just in training but as you can see in the match last night, he is a world-class player and he proved that again. ‘Mesut will come across as laid back but he is helping everyone in a different way and he helps me a lot. ‘He gives me advice in a different way: he jokes around but always tell me I can do more – even [against Leicester] he was saying I can do more, he is always one of those guys. ‘But he is always happy, always telling me and giving me the confidence to express myself so it helps me.’ Emery took over from Wenger at Arsenal The win over Leicester was Arsenal’s tenth victory in a row, as the Gunners have gone from strength to strength under Emery’s guidance. Arsenal fans are even hopeful their side could launch a title tilt, and Iwobi revealed how Emery has helped him improve this season. ‘For me, he has just given me confidence to express myself, to believe in my ability which I have been trying to show and basically also in training he is always letting me try new things, be positive, be direct and prove it in the game,’ Iwobi said. ‘It is working for me so I just have to keep it going. I am more confident, I feel that even if I make a mistake I am able to go again. I think that is the difference between me last year and this year.’ Arsenal are now level on points with Chelsea and remain just two points behind league leaders Manchester City and Liverpool. —Metro |

Etebo Joins Onyekuru, Shehu, Obi In Super Eagles Injury Club Ahead Of AFCONQ Vs South AfricaPublished: October 23, 2018 https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/13869Etebo.jpgAllnigeriasoccer.com understands that Oghenekaro Etebo will not be available for selection when Stoke City face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the EFL Championship on Tuesday, October 23. The Potters number eight started as a holding midfielder along with Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi in the two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya in Uyo and Sfax. Medical tests carried out after he returned to the United Kingdom last week revealed that he suffered a hamstring injury while on international duty. Etebo does not want to rush himself back from the injury and has been undergoing light training. He joins the queue for the Super Eagles treatment room behind Chievo Verona's Joel Obi, Bursaspor's Abdullahi Shehu and Galatasaray's Henry Onyekuru ahead of next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa. Obi has not played for The Flying Donkeys for a month due to a knee discomfort, Shehu suffered a muscle contraption in the quadriceps on his right leg which led to his substitution after 18 minutes against Libya in Uyo while Onyekuru faces at least one month on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, it is not all bad news as Trabzonspor's Eddy Onazi was cleared to suit up for the Turkish club in yesterday's game against Erzurumspor after pulling out of the Nigeria squad for the games against the Mediterranean Knights. In addition, Chelsea loanee Kenneth Omeruo is expected to fully recover before CD Leganes upcoming La Liga match against Levante. Ifeanyi Emmanuel —ANS |

Ex-Man Utd Star Hargreaves & Ex-Leicester City Hero Bright : Ozil, Not Iwobi, Deserves To Win MOTMPublished: October 22, 2018 https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/55136Iwobi1.jpgAlex Iwobi was officially named the Man of the Match in Arsenal's 3-1 win over Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night. The Man of the Match accolade is given to the most outstanding player from either team by the Premier League sponsors. In his post-match analysis, former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves questioned the decision to name Iwobi Man of the Match and stressed that the Gunners captain on the night, Mesut Ozil had more impact than the Nigeria international. Speaking on Premier League Fan Zone, ex-Crystal Palace and Leicester City striker Mark Bright echoed the words of Hargreaves, saying he's surprised that the German was snubbed for the award. Ozil became the highest scoring German in Premier League history with 30 goals after scoring the Gunners equalizer in the 45th minute, and provided the assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's second goal in the 66th minute. The Arsenal number 10 made four key passes, the most in the match, and had a game-high passing accuracy of 92.5 percent according to stats provided by OPTA. Though Iwobi spent more minutes on the pitch, he had one shot on target, the same as Ozil managed, finished with a passing accuracy of 80 percent, and was the top dribbler with three successful take-ons. Great progress yes without doubt one of the young top contenders with the context of Nigeria a big YES.
If you add the Belguim league rating number 9 in Europe just below Turkey puts things in perspective. You dont see any big clubs takin notice of him as such.
Getting game time is helping him to improve and a hungry man is an angry and determined man. Particularly after his career at Wolfsburg nearly died. |
