Kayode’s career has always been progressive. ChrisKels: Peter Olayinka is not short of offers from Germany, Spain and France but if he ditches those offers for Slavia Prague because of money like many Nigerians, I would stop rooting for him.
Dude is too good for any back water league. I dont know why Nigerian players are hardly ambitious. This is one rare trait I see in Kayode, he is always aiming higher and he is never afraid. |

Haha I was waiting for someone to say that. I’m not talking about the act of skipping. Consider hat Belgium-Japan scenario again. One, Lukaku has failed to score in a couple occasions. Two, that was the dying minute in the match. Our Nigerian players will not control their nerve to do it in that desperate moment. Typically, Ighalo would have blasted that ball. Our blood too dey hot. BascoVanVeli: Ighalo did pretty much the same thing for Mikel to score against Cameroon in Uyo. |

Which is why I said adjudged. You jump to head the ball, if your hands are above your head, it is assumed you did that because you were likely going to miss the ball, hence the rule. There is a reason for the rule in the first place. Anything done to get undue advantage call for a rule. While running, it depends on the situation. If the ball hits my hand from behind, it wouldn’t be an infringement. If the ball approavong me was visible to me, and I had ample time to keep my hand out of the way and I failed to do so, that would be a purnishable handball. Certitude: You're not getting it. We can all agree on the hand above head ish but intention doesn't come into play in a handball or foul situation. You can make a case for Rojo but intentions shouldn't be part. That said, what is the natural position of your hand when running? Handball are given from such too. Sir Goldfish80, I just saw a replay of Messi's Freekick which was saved by Uzoho. I remember you saying a goalkeeper shouldn't ne beaten on his side. I think you should stop being overly critical and give the boy credit cause it wasn't on his side. |

You make your case without reeling out names. You should be doing the same as others consistently. komekn: I really don't have any idea about these players.
But on what basis ❓ Club and league proven quality form ❓ Consistent top class performances.
Please please there is too much talk about non competitive friendly game played against Athletico Madrid. As being a basis for quality.
I tell you sincerely if Athletico Madrid played Shrewsbury Town of league one in a non competitive friendly they would not get rolled over.
So let's see things in context. |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 5:25pm On Jul 02, 2018 |
You have a point. But Ibe is not related to anyone in NFF. Aluko wasn’t as well. Aina wasn’t. You can make a case that we are not systematic in the way we make our approach . But to attribute it to tribalism or godfatherism is not entirely true. forgiveness: Aluko got a look while playing for Aberdeen and later with Rangers.
He made the 2013 AFCON list as a Hill city player in the Championship though injury knocked him out.
If you go by that logic that Iwobi was called because he is an Arsenal player then what stops us from inviting our players in Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham? The likes of Tosin Kehinde, Bashiru, Nechemi, Ojo, Solanke, Onomah, Adarabioyo, Bobby, etc are also players from this clubs. |

Arms stretched while in the air is not illegal except it’s above the head. Next time when you go to the field to play football, try nodding in the air with your arms at your side. bengine: He mistimed that ball...that was all his fault..the rule is the rule thou..so far your hand is in unnatural position, you risk a pk.... |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 4:31pm On Jul 02, 2018 |
But if we should be sincere with ourselves no outfield player from the lower leagues of England have been considered in SE. Aina was was on the radar (thanks to Mikel) even before he was loaned to Hull. Aluko didn’t get a look in back then until Hull City was promotes to the EPL back then. I believe we approached Ibe, not until he was in the EPL. Iwobi was an Arsenal player at least. it’s not an NFF problem, it’s the way most of us see it. Why is it hat every indegemeous coach and foreign coach of SE has hardly looked the way of English lower leagues, except in cases were we are lacking options in a specified field position? I remember Oliseh when he became coach of SE saying no player playing in the lower league will be considered. That’s just the consciousness. Until UEFA comes with a ranking system that also accommodates the lower leagues of Europe, it would be hard for you to argue your case, because people will also give you examples of players that came from the inferior leagues in Europe only to come to the EPL to tear the league. In all this, I’m not saying you are wrong, but people won’t take your argument seriously, unless you are making an argument that we have to spot those talents early before thy are snapped up by England. Saying they should be invited straight to SE, I’m sorry na long thing u dey. komekn: But that's part of the problem, it's totally unjustified because it doesn't stand up to question.
Players who can't make it here are going to the Bundesliga to tear it up. Batshuayi and Ademola have stats that are top level in the Bundesliga. With regards to Ademola he had essentially come from league 1.
It's the top players in the Bundesliga that make it hear nit those who are struggling. Balogun is an exception he is in Brighton as cheap cover at a mere £1.8 million cost.
Our NFF officials also don't really do much to help the situation. |

Pique’s hands was clearly above his head, and adjudged to have done it deliberately. I remember one of SS panelists saying what I said here earlier that it’s natural to raise your hands when u jump to head the ball, however in our case, Rojo’s arms were not above his head. It was clearly not deliberate. Come to think of it, why would he head the ball to his own arms? bengine: To any one that doubted we should have had a second penalty against argentina, wasn't it the same situation with Pique when Spain played against Russia...
Does referee have double standards when making this hand balll in the box call..the rule is simple if your hands are in unnatural position inside the 18yard box...its a PK...that rule applied to pique today Don't understand why it didn't apply to Rojo..I guess it was more beneficial to keep Argentina in the world cup..
Watching today's game just brought back that memory...I'm just getting frustrated at how things went against us.. |

Ohh stop it. And I’ve told u countless times no Super Eagles handler would ever reason like you. The Championship and the lower league is not held in high regard in Nigeria, and that would not change irrespective of what you say. If you like you can keep making the same argument. Rohr holds Bundesliga in high regard, and that’s just it. komekn: I have had this argument with many on this forum and in the end being accused of bias.
Bayern Munich win everything in the Bundesliga and have more or less in the past twenty years. It's almost like the Scottish league with Celtic the one team far ahead also winning nearly everything.
In the Bundesliga take away Bayern and the next top 6 clubs are not on the level of Man United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, but way below.
So I would rate the top 6 Bundesliga excluding Bayern Munich on par or lower with the mid table and below of the EPL.
The mid table and 3 places up and below are on par with Championship and below. For instance can you see Mainz, Freiburg, Hannover. Wolfsburg, Fc Koln winning the championship. No they would be in the relegation zone of the championship.
The Bundesliga is rated No 4 in Europe with La Liga number 1 and the EPL number 2 followed by Seria A. That's by UEFA.
So for reasons unknown but known by some England that has the by far higher numbers of Nigerian origin players is literally left out.
Ovie Ejaria, Tega Onomah, Bobby Adekanya have not been approached. Part of the problem is we keep looking for deals.
If to say Amaju deh hear word there should be a network scouting and tracking the development of Nigeria origin players. Not waiting for them to before being considered and tested.
In this regard Iwobi had not played one game for Arsenal first team before he was called to the Nigerian senior national team. I guess big Uncle JJay open doors.
He singled out Tega Abrahams because of Warri connection. But he waited too long allowed the boy to blow and then start to take photo.
But one of the biggest problems is our past history of unfair practices and under handed practices of coaches and officials.
NFF officials don't like Nigerian origin players why Dem no deh free settle no arrangement, loyalty bonus.
Look at how Sone Aluko was treated and how Hope Akpan was treated and it sets a pattern. A pattern of use and abuse. |

Onomah and co need to gain promotion to the EPL, or they will never get a look in komekn: On what basis years of academy football.
He needs to break into the first team of Wolfsburg.
Shockingly he was invited to the SE totally unproven totally unjustified but why
I said it ages ago and was slated on this forum right left and center. That he would struggle to make it into a English EPL academy. |

Yes having stars on your team can be a plus. But my point is you have to learn to live without them if you don’t have them. Your goal should always be to win the WC, else why play to qualify? When it gets to the World Cup proper, a team should focus on what is necessary to go far. If you don’t go far you can’t have the best shot of winning the cup. We are too overwhelmed with European football that we fail to utilize our inner strength. Nigeria may not have stars today, but we are not playing to our full potential. Penalty to Russia by the way. Spain 1-1 Russia andrew444: The last time I check the German team that won the World Cup have numerous champions league winners there, the last time I check the Spanish World Cup team have 6 treble winners from Barcelona and 5 were starters all through the World Cup.
I will agree with him when team like Sweden,Switzerland Japan and others small team win the World Cup.
The Uruguay he is talking for, cavani is a champion, what about surely what about Diego godin and caceres? Those are men with trophies in Europe.
I will believe Dave p when those small teams will win the World Cup as I mentioned there including Mexico.
