I agree with most of what you said but not the bolded. Read what you typed there Oasis007:

Mind you Siasia was never given a fair Chance at the Senior National Team. The first time he was appointed, it was for a Rescue Mission after the Eagles abysmal Performance at the 2010 World Cup.
He was appointed in November 2010 and sacked in October 2011 - not up to a Year Bruh - for failing to qualify us for the AFCON 2012 though.
He did his Best to get us qualified but was killed by the Naivete of the technical Unit of the NFF. They weren't assembled to sit and discuss Ludo Game, rather to look after the National Teams from the technical Point of View.
We won a Match and lost a Match (to the Group eventual Winner) prior to his Appointment. We didn't lose a single qualifying Match under him. We walloped Ethiopia 4 - 0 in Nigeria, and came from behind to draw 2 - 2 in the away Match.
We defeated Madagascar 2 - 0 on their Home Soil but poorly conceded a late Goal against Guinea in Nigeria to draw 2 - 2. Do you know why? It's because the Damage was done before Siasia was appointed coz we lost to them on their Home Soil.
We were leading 2 - 1 by 84". Siasia was considering H2H (Away Goal) Rule, thus he wanted one more Goal to seal our Qualification, but unluckily conceded in the last Minute of the Match.
Had he well informed of what he's needed to qualify us for the Tourney, he wouldn't have gone Gung-ho to win the last qualifying Match. So how could he be termed a FLOP with this kinda Results and Performances?
His second Spell was interim and only lasted for few Weeks. He was appointed to steady the Ship after the Resignation of Nigerian Pep Guardiola - Sunday Oliseh.
NFF have already made up their Mind to hire a foreign Coach, hence Siasia was never considered, he was rather appointed to hold the Team together until a foreign Coach is appointed, which he did honorably. |

I agree with Davep on the ground that when it gets to the world stage a team has to play as a unit with belief and forget about stars who have won it all individually. You have nothing to lose. A team of average players may not win the WC, but they can go very far. World class players are born, if you don’t have them you have to learn to succeed without them. I think Rohr speaks too much about how the opponent has big name players. There is one thing I like about Keshi. He can pick up unachievers and motivate them to play like their lives depended on their performance. That philosophy coupled with great selection, and world class tactics is all we need in an SE coach. Unfortunately, you can’t find a coach who has it all. We need a consortium of our best indigenous coaches with the aforementioned strengths to take over from Rohr at the right time. andrew444: What about Suarez who also plays for Uruguay and has also won everything in Europe with Barcelona,I know you will not type this if Suarez got the both goals yesterday.
Lol,you say Forlan didn't rush after too Europe trophy? Or he failed to win it because he played for villreal and ATM,I don't think you know what you are saying.
Has chicharito won the World Cup with Mexico ?what are you even saying self,so because Mexico is in the round of 16 it's already an achievement for chicharito,do you know if Brazil will eliminate them ?
Is Diego forlan even a World Cup winner ?he didn't even win the 3rd place at the World Cup so what did he achieve at the World Cup ?
And didn't iniesta xavi busquets pique catch all European silverware and also the World Cup?i guess you don't know about that.
Once again you don't know what you are saying and you are trying a diss but you got it wrong |

Let’s get a clearer picture. Kelechi has scored a total of 15 premier league goals. How many of those were tap-ins? goldfish80: So why were your friends trying to deny he scored lots of tap ins? |

A goal is a goal. What’s most important is putting the ball in the net. Sometimes classy, sometimes easy. It happens to even the best players. goldfish80: I said "Most" of his goals were tap ins. I believe I'm technically correct to say that. |

By academy I mean still in the promising stage. Nobody knows what would have been. goldfish80: Lyn Oslo was no academy. He had so much upside to his game that 2 heavy weights fought dirty for him which resulted in someone going to jail. Mikel had a decent but not outstanding career, thats the gospel truth. |

You are not balanced in your position. You should as well mention the classy goals he scored. Or didn’t he? Or if u we’re in the position to tap in, would you do a bicycle kick? goldfish80: Most of his goals are tap ins. Recall the tap in against Man utd from 3 yards? He scored Arsenal in a preseason game played in Austria off a deflected shot with his buttocks. More than 90% of his goals came from inside the 6yard box. That's a fact. |

Good question. “Don’t I THINK”. What you think is different from what you know. You are judging from his academy years. But a lot can happen as a player develops. The truth is we will never know. goldfish80: Dont you think Mikel would have done much more better than he did if he developed his game more than being Chelsea's water carrier? |

I’m not even here to argue. On what basis does he get to be acquired on loan? On the back of what attributes are clubs interested in his signature? I’m sure u know something other coaches and scouts do not know. Or at least you are speaking based on your preferences as a coach. But coaches think differently. Will you change your opinions if he performs well next season? If not, it’s either like his style as a player or you don’t just like his person semid4lyfe: Oga, my comments are not about his world cup performance but his "footballing ability"
I have always felt that way about him, even when he was at Man City.
Pls tell me, which position does Nacho excel playing at?
Centre forward?
Support Striker?
Attacking Midfield?
Wing forward?
Which football attributes does he possess?
Dribbling? Pace? Close/good ball control? Passing? Aerial threat? Positional play & good movement? Hold up play ability?
Shot accuracy is too limited a skill set and won't keep him at the top league
I play the game, I coached the game and I watch the game.
I know a good player when I see one. Iheanacho is not a good player.
I foresee Iheanacho going the way of Freddy Adu, Dominic Adiyiah & co who fell from the heights of european football to obscurity. |

Well said. And that’s always true. But Don’t forget Musa did not stand a chance in Leicester, but Kelechi did. Today they are refusing to sell Musa on the back of his WC star performance. Modified And by chance I meant he did not impress. goldfish80: A player must be doing something to convince a club that he is better than what they have and deserves to start. |

That’s how many people still believed Mou killed Mikel’s game. Today Mikel is arguably a legend. Time will tell. goldfish80: Even at Man city when he was tapping in the goals, I wasn't convinced. Something about his game just doesn't feel right. I've said it before, I think Pelegrini killed that boy's game by converting him to a standing striker. |

Sir its not about population. But one would expect that Nigeria as a football nation should offer more. Our problem is not about quality but utilizing what we have the best possible way. There are small teams shocking big teams in this WC, do they have the players playing in the best leagues? . komekn: I don't agree with your post - mortem and scathing attack on certain players.
Firstly, who is better than Ighalo Please tell us and why He is in my opinion for what he brings the best striker we have amongst those selected into to the SE.
Mikel Obi has no competitor in his position, Iwobi has shown promise but is far off the mark.
The SE was and is a collection of mostly below average players hyped by ourselves to be world or top class players.
Objectively speaking we had the least rating in our group. But we dreamed big. All our friendlies were indicative of our lack of quality.
In my opinion the SE did very well considering the players selected. What is worrying is that a country with 180 million people is struggling to create a quality football team.
That's failure, what's the population of Uruguay. |

Did he perform well towards the end of last season? Yes or no? Look at the bright side and wish the player well. goldfish80: From what you have seen from him over the past 2years, can you honestly tell me you can see an upside to his game? The guy has no clear defined role at his age. I mean, he's neither a striker, not a midfielder nor winger. I wish I can sound more positive but I honestly cannot find anything to hold on to. |

You guys need to wake up from the WC disappointment. These players we are castigating will return to their clubs, perform, and be invited again to SE. semid4lyfe: Heavy first touch
Poor positional play
The worst of it all is that he still "selects leg" and gets them entangled.
That guy is a sorry excuse for a footballer. |

This your tone get as e be o. You can only speak of truth in respect to his past and present performance. About the future, you cannot sound like that, especially as it has to do with somebody’s career for that matter. However, I thought the boy did well towards the end of the past EPL season. Why are you sounding like this? goldfish80: The fact remains Kelechi has regressed and the harsh truth is that there's no silver lining on sight. He plateaued back in 2013 and even at Westham, no serious coach will bench Lanzini, Anderson, Chikarito or a fit Andy Carol for him. He might be playing lower league footie in no distant time. I hate to say it, but that's the harsh truth. |

He’s got decent opportunities in playing minutes to score at least. Maybe the system there won’t work for him. ChrisKels: U want him to go out now that he has the best chance to play for the first team? Some of the guys that reduced his opportunities (Origi et al) have left and u want him to leave too?
The best time for him to ask for a loan move was last season bro. If he cant force his way into wolfsbourg first team now, then he aint good enough. |

You are right. But like you insinuated, the problem starts from us as a people. NFF no fit solve that one. It need to be solved at the root. As regards coaches, a coach might be good at instilling the right values but poor tactically. This is why I have been calling for a consortium of coaches that can work together each with their own strengths. The head coach should be a born leader, who can leverage on the strengths of the other coaches. . MetalJigsaw: Bros you and I know it's the truth. Most our Nigerian players (or even African) hardly nurture the interest of improving and developing their game or at least be consistent once they get some little applause from the media and some cash comes in.
I fear for my dear Iwobi, Etebo and the other young talent in the team. I think that's what O like most about Onyekuru... very ambitious young fellow with a lot if self belief.
We really need a coach that has the character to instill such qualities in our future young and exciting players (and revive it with the current team). Not the one that never reminds his players that they're average and can only achieve little in their caeer. |
