It's not Onyekuru's first time playing there for Anderlecht in a 3-5-2 formation. He's played as a LWB four times this league season. Modified He scored a brace against Mechelen while playing as a LWB. ChrisKels: Nice updates Joebie. Please how is our boy fairing in this new formation? This would really make him a very important player for us if he does it well with his club. I'm loving this |

Hull City takes a cue from the Super Eagles -- deploys Aina at Left Back. Fikayo Tomori at RB, as they are held at home by Iorfa's Ipswich. Iorfa was left in the dugout. Tom Adeyemi unlisted by Ipswich.

I think he dreaming about Chelsea's #9 is too premature. He needs to end this season on high, unless there is a clause in his loan contract that he could be recalled. The currently season is barely half way. He still has a lot to prove. If England is bent on cap-tying him they will take him to Russia Humility017: Lol....I just pray he does not regret his decision playing for England...because should he miss next summer world cup...the possibility of making Qatar 2022 or even next Europa nations cup...will be quite slim.....
the world cup will be a break through for him getting into Chelsea first team... |

Yes we can all have different opinions. But I have just stated the reality. Players who play in the first tier almost always have an advantage. edi287: I do think he deserves a look in, but not as a CF. He'll can't bench anyone as a CF. I don't know why Forgiveness wants to argue this... |

Let's talk about our two March friendlies. Hopefully England and Germany junnyjake: Super Eagles consider France, Germany tests for 2018 World Cup

World champions Germany and France are among the teams being lined up to tackle the Super Eagles in a pre-World Cup warm-ups in March, according to report.
The Eagles will play two friendlies in March ahead of Russia 2018 after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) moved AFCON 2019 qualifiers also in March to October.
“France and Germany are the two countries Nigeria are considering to play as part of the build-up for next year’s World Cup,” a top official said.
“The France game appears the more realistic, but all will be known after the World Cup draw especially if they are not in our group in Russia.”
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said they will announce the friendlies after the December 1 World Cup draw in Moscow.
Nigeria have twice clashed with France at full international level – they beat Les Bleus 1-0 in a friendly in Saint Etienne on June 2, 2009, before the French took their revenge with a 2-0 win in a Round of 16 clash at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Eagles have clashed with Germany once, on April 22,1998, with the Europeans running away with a lone goal win courtesy of a 58th minute goal by Andreas Moller. |

The possibility of Aluko or any championship player for that matter getting a look in by Rohr is quite slim. Generally, the league is seen for what it is -- second tier. edi287: Are you mistaken me for someone else?? I said the excuse that Jelavic and Long were the main reason Hull "moved on" from Aluko can't be true because they are both strikers while Aluko mostly plays as a AM or on the wings. Aluko RARELY plays as a CF - FACT! Aluko would not get into SE 11 as a CF - FACT! That's the point I'm making. |

Home Eagles To Begin CHAN Camping In December November 18, 2017 12:44 pm https://www.completesportsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/IMG_20171118_123253_600x400.jpgBy Adeboye Amosu: The home-based Super Eagles will begin preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in the first week of December, Completesportsnigeria.com reports. The championship is billed for Morocco from 12 January to 4 February, 2018. The Super Eagles have been placed in Group C of the competition that is meant for players plying their trade in their country’s domestic league along with Rwanda, 2014 champions Libya and Equatorial Guinea. The annual Nigeria Professional Football League pre-season competition has been expanded to six teams to allow the team participate and get in shape for the CHAN. The Super Six will kick off in Kano from December 11 with NPFL champions Plateau United, MFM FC, Enyimba, Akwa United and Kano Pillars also expected to participate in the competition. “The coach (Salisu Yusuf) is contemplating having the team in camp in the first week of December ahead of the super six competition,” spokesman of the team, Toyin Ibitoye, informed Completesportsnigeria.com. “You know all the clubs are currently preparing for the new season and it will be difficult to get the team in camp earlier than that. “It is good that we are participating in the Super Six as it will help the technical crew assess the players and put them in proper shape for the competition.” Nigeria failed to progress beyond the group stage at the last edition of the competition in Rwanda in 2016. --CSN |

Even Musa is ahead of Kayode in Rohr's SE. Experienced for his age. And has played at the highest level and showed, in the Argentina friendly, why Rohr keeps inviting him. Musa is also versatile. In fact can also play as a CF. Kayode will need a full half (45 mins), to have a chance of making a case. He will need to show (in the Eagles shirt) that he has a lot to offer as a CF and a false 9. Mujtahida: Personally I prefer Kayode but then it's not my preference that would make us perform well. Let the man who performs better carry the day. |

The EPL remains the limelight. The belief here is that the players in the Championship need to get to the EPL and prove themselves, same view many have of other second tier leagues. Mujtahida: Hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha @the bolded. You call it nonsensical but that comment sums up the impression you've given lots of us here.
See we all have our biases. Yours is at two levels: first you so much believe in the EPL to the extent you are blind to the fact that good players exist in Lower leagues Secondly you believe so much in the 'innit boys'. I understand. I have my own bias too.
Do you know some among us here would want at least two or three home based players to go to Russia just for the satisfaction of their prejudice? Wait let CHAN begin(and I'm not saying it's bad. I'm only pointing out our prejudices)
You see the way we rush names here? If Rohr were to follow this approach he won't have a team. But he's doing gradually, gradually. Once you get sufficient buzz you get invited to come show your stuff. It's happened to Onyekuru, Nwakaeme lately Uzoho. Only Nwakali took everyone by surprise.
Again you seem to forget something very crucial as regards our UK based FB players. Granted they are Nigerians and you know I've been in the vanguard of those calling for a better way of engagement with them but this issue of convincing them, switching nationalities etc makes them getting invitations not so straight forward. For example the NFF extends invitation to Nwakali, he hops on the plane and he's in camp. Same cannot be done with Onyedinma for example. And we should not forget that Rohr has his eyes on some FBs who are not based in the UK(and somehow they seem easy to get compared to the hysteria, recriminations and wailings that follows our every move on the UK based FBs). Holland did not cry when Ebuehi switched, I doubt Germany would when Bazee and any other German born Nig player switches.
So it's gradual. It's not easy to build something. And mind you though it would sound sentimental we must avoid a situation where our team is completely taken over by FBs cos if we adopt your suggestion that's where it would lead us to and it would create it's own backlash. |

Oboabona is now in Saudi Arabia. And you are right there is need for more competition there still. komekn: In football OPPORTUNITY is key.
Omeruo has made a strong case in comparison to whom there is almost zero competition so he just walks in.
We need a lot more players to be tested at CB because the comparison pool is simply non - existent.
Is he better than Obaboana, they play in the same Turkish league, I do not know. Is he better than Iorfa When Iorfa was a teenager at Wolves he was winning MOTM awards and best young player in the same season Omeruo was playing at Middlesbrough. Omeruo did not win anything.
In all honesty if you are doing well in the championship other clubs both EPL and Championship willl come for you. Efe Ambrose was courted by Brighton and Hove but work permit issues stopped the move. Is Omeruo better than Efe I simply do not know there is no competition for him as well as the other defenders.
A Nigerian input international left the EPL to go to Turkey obviously he considered the €€££$$$.
He came back to the EPL and he told me simply that the pace and intensity is so much different. That it will take him time to adjust if ever at all |
