It's not just the money. Many of these boys grew up watching the EPL. You know Nigerians have a craze for the EPL. Playing in the EPL was a dream. He must have thought he had arrived after making that move. Not just the money, but the whole thing. I reiterate if he had spent one or a couple more years in the Spanish League it would have been better for his career. Who knows, he would have moved to Real Madrid or Barca thereafter. Just my opinion anyway.. TheGoodJoe:
I do not think going to England was a bad move as such. He worked with sound managers like Quique Sanchez Flores and Walter Mazarri. He came to a competitive environment but I think Success first dream was to become rich and as soon as he sealed the Watford deal, he was satisfied he made it.
I think that caused the distraction and also affected his work ethic.
I hope he comes to the realization that he has the potential to become a great player and make use of the opportunities around him. |

Going to England was a bad move for his development. He had only spent a season in Spain. TheGoodJoe: Success has already done well in Spain. Going back there will not prove much of a challenge compared to matching the intensity of the EPL. Success should adapt to the intensity, drop weight and work on increasing his speed.
If he can match Richarlison, he is ready for play and Marco Silva will give him his chance. |

He should go back to Spain EPL no be must. TheGoodJoe: Going on loan seems an easy way out. I say he slugs it out with Richarlison. Success should train to work harder and run faster on the pitch than Richarlison. If he achieves such work rate, I sort Marco Silva will pass on him. The most important thing is the work to get himself at an optimum level. |

too late! He is no longer patriotic ChrisKels: Munir is an ass.hole. When Morocco approached him initially he kicked their ass for Spain bkus then he was a prospect at a club as prestigious as Barca. Spain pounced and CAPTIED him with few minutes of action in a competitive game, but today he wants Morocco bkus it's now done on him that he has no future with Spain, and Morocco made it to Russia. If I was a Moroccan, I'd ask him to go to Russia with Spain. |

Everyone or most of us understand that formula.. And no one said we lost points from either of those games. However, the tool is out there on Fifa's website, and anyone can use it. e no be like exam when dem say make person no use calculator. So before you calculate and confuse yourself, let's go back to the main point again. You stand by your word abi? Okay, so when will Nigeria be 25th in the World like you earlier said? We can definitely bookmark your post again.. realpoacher: I repeat and stand by my earlier position. From my calculations deducted from FIFA website, the Algerian and Argentina matches added points to us. Algeria's result was in positive not negative. The reason why we dropped was from the weight of our four year rankings. Our fourth year in particular in this regards. Fifa score you 1 match point for a draw times 2.5 for the competition weight, I wonder where you guys keep bringing the -Ives from in draw matches when in actual sense the -ive we experienced is from our fourth year dead rankings multiplied by 0.2 |

I'm just saying in a dynamic frontline they can switch anytime.. again and again, especially when the wingers have a stronger feet. The purpose is to stay unpredictable. Sometimes we can use a cross or two at either wings. The modern wingers cut in, but they are not limited to that. Back in the days, they were expected to make crosses. MetalJigsaw: Why confuse me with yes and no. Of course they van switch postiton but that doesn't mean they won't retuen to their respective positions |

I intentionally ignored all that for the same reason.. Just something they probably made up, a soft landing for a u-turn story. ChrisKels: If any body's existence was questionable here, then, it must be that of Roland Mark because I doubt this name "Roland Mark" was not made up. That quote and its message sense sounded so Nigerian. Roland Mark is a fake name. owngoalnigeria.com is playing tricks. Believe them at ur own peril. They wrote that stuff and ascribed it to non existent Roland. If u doubt the fictional figure of this Roland Mark and ask my reason for questioning the authenticity of that post, I implore u to search for Roland Mark on Google and u will find it so befuddling when u only get directed to owngoalnigeria.com instead of German sites Kpom!!! |

Okay.. did the ref also influence the Argentine's conceding 4 goals? The players would have to have been involved to bring the game to that scoreline. While this story may be true, we were beating Argentina anyway. And our goals were clean. The video is still on YouTube goldfish80: There is no need to adjust my earlier post. This information about our infamous 4-1 victory over Argentina being fixed have been in the public domain for years. The truth is that proving a game is fixed is difficult, However, a study of betting patterns could actually indicate a game is fixed. Here's a report from the UK telegraph about the game :
In the same year, Fifa said it was trying to speak to a Niger referee who officiated in a match between Nigeria and Argentina. Nigeria won 4-1, after unusual betting patterns indicated it had been targeted by match-fixers. Nigeria was leading the game 4-0 until Ibrahim Chaibou awarded Argentina a penalty for handball in the eighth minute of injury time. This was despite the fourth official having indicated just five minutes of extra time were due. Television replays showed the ball had hit a Nigerian player’s shin. While the score was 4-0, a huge amount of money in the Asian gambling markets had been bet on a fifth goal being scored. “There had been some crazy moves on the in-running market early in the game,” said Matthew Benham of SmartOdds, an online betting firm. “With 86 minutes played, the odds for over 4.50 (a fifth goal to be scored) were absolutely insane. The market was effectively saying it was odds against that there would be no more goals. “It is hard to get an exact figure for how much would have been bet to force that kind of swing, but we are certainly talking hundreds of thousands, possibly more than £1 million.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/world-cup/10918404/Football-match-fixing-Referees-guilty-of-fixing-final-scores-in-high-stakes-games.html
As a matter of fact, the Nigerien ref who officiated that match have been suspected of being involved in match fixing in the past. He once awarded 3 controversial penalties in a game...
Mr Chaibou has been involved in controversial games before. He was in charge of a match in Sept when Bahrain beat a fake Togo team 3-0, which is also being investigated for potential match-fixing. The game was organised by Raj Perumal. In 2010, he awarded three controversial penalties as South Africa beat Guatemala 5-0 in a World Cup warm-up.
I like calling a spade a spade. If it looks like monkey, jumps like monkey, it's definitely a monkey. Football is not a clean sports after all. If proper investigation should be carried out, the Gabonese ref who awarded the penalty To Algeria must have been compromised by Asian betting cartels.
Remember our friendly game against Scotland? Where Austin Ejide deliberately parried the ball into his net? That's another pointer to match fixing.... the replay is still on youtube
Recall Sam Sodje's testimony on BBC on how betting syndicates compromise African players? Even in world cup games....
As much as we want to gloat that we beat Argentina in the said game, I'm afraid my conscience won't permit me to celebrate such a dirty looking victory.

Yes Uduokhai is arguably the highest rated of those German-Nigerians.. comodo: I used to think that it was felix udokhai. I knew one of them Germans will play at the mundial for SE. Germans tho rate Udokhai over Akpoguma. if Rohr gets him, its a big plus. There should be depth in the bench too. He is young also. One never can tell, he may improve just like balogun. |
