Two different things. I'm not arguing about the quality of the championship in comparison to other leagues. I'm just saying it is seen as a second tier league regardless. Yes, second tier to the EPL, BUT still a second tier. That tag alone rubs on it negatively.

If you can name a number of good national sides that boast of players from the championship, then I would have no option but join you in your clamor for championship players.

The EPL is regarded widely as the most competitive and best league in the World. That in itself accords a high level of quality and competency on the 2nd tier Championship.

In what context are you rating the Championship England's 2nd tier league. Lower than or higher than league rated below 5 in Europe or lower than leagues rated less than 10 in Europe.

Do you know what % of players move from Championship to go to the EPL every season

If those players were in the EPL, we would have long been chasing them. I have already made my point. Generally, we view second tier for what it is. Let them work hard and upgrade to the EPL, or better yet move to the first tier in other leagues. Aina was "lucky" to rub shoulders with Mikel at Chelsea. That's where it all started for him.

I wonder why Tunisia did not enter that pot. We will draw tough teams. We are not supposed to be in pot 4 meant for weaklings. Team 2014 maybe but definitely not this team. It would be sad if we cannot go beyond first round if we get drawn in a tough group. The toughest group we've found ourselves in at the World cup is the one in 2002. We failed to advance.

World champions Germany and France are among the teams being lined up to tackle the Super Eagles in a pre-World Cup warm-ups in March, according to report.

The Eagles will play two friendlies in March ahead of Russia 2018 after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) moved AFCON 2019 qualifiers also in March to October.

“France and Germany are the two countries Nigeria are considering to play as part of the build-up for next year’s World Cup,” a top official said.

“The France game appears the more realistic, but all will be known after the World Cup draw especially if they are not in our group in Russia.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said they will announce the friendlies after the December 1 World Cup draw in Moscow.

Nigeria have twice clashed with France at full international level – they beat Les Bleus 1-0 in a friendly in Saint Etienne on June 2, 2009, before the French took their revenge with a 2-0 win in a Round of 16 clash at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The Eagles have clashed with Germany once, on April 22,1998, with the Europeans running away with a lone goal win courtesy of a 58th minute goal by Andreas Moller.

Is it a year thing or a season thing?

The possibility of Aluko or any championship player for that matter getting a look in by Rohr is quite slim. Generally, the league is seen for what it is -- second tier.

Home Eagles To Begin CHAN Camping In December

The home-based Super Eagles will begin preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in the first week of December, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The championship is billed for Morocco from 12 January to 4 February, 2018.

The Super Eagles have been placed in Group C of the competition that is meant for players plying their trade in their country’s domestic league along with Rwanda, 2014 champions Libya and Equatorial Guinea.

The annual Nigeria Professional Football League pre-season competition has been expanded to six teams to allow the team participate and get in shape for the CHAN.

The Super Six will kick off in Kano from December 11 with NPFL champions Plateau United, MFM FC, Enyimba, Akwa United and Kano Pillars also expected to participate in the competition.

“The coach (Salisu Yusuf) is contemplating having the team in camp in the first week of December ahead of the super six competition,” spokesman of the team, Toyin Ibitoye, informed Completesportsnigeria.com.

“You know all the clubs are currently preparing for the new season and it will be difficult to get the team in camp earlier than that.

“It is good that we are participating in the Super Six as it will help the technical crew assess the players and put them in proper shape for the competition.”

Nigeria failed to progress beyond the group stage at the last edition of the competition in Rwanda in 2016.
