Though I wish him well, I would still like that. Let's welcome another good debate goldfish80: Apparently Tammy Abraham didn't pull up trees with his performance last night. I understand he completed only 4 out of his 9 attempted passes. Another performance like this, could be bye bye to Baghdad on his international career. |

He would gives and he who recieve both are guilty. The evidential requirements within a court of law will need some one to admit giving or receiving. Nobody will indict themselves.

Five Things We Learned From Nigeria's 1-1 Draw With Algeria : Echiejile Better Than Aina, Iwobi & Iheanacho StruggledPublished: November 11, 2017 A late controversial Yaccine Brahimi penalty robbed the Super Eagles a record victory in the FIFA World Cup qualifying series after they had all but looked set to pick up their fifth group match win. But then, if the Super Eagles resilience and tenacity in matching up to everything their desperate opponents threw at them and even with their deficiencies not exposing their soft under belly (no thanks to Slimani and Mahrez's profligacy), this encounter, thus sprouted vivid themes — some of which we are inevitably accustomed to. 1) The Algerian attack was particularly lethargic — It was shocking that the Super Eagles nondescript start in the rear was not actually capitalised on by the fearsome trio of Brahimi, Slimani or even the tricky Mahrez, with Slimani particularly culpable here. When one is forced to equally pontificate on the fact that neither of them even looked like carving out clear goalscoring opportunities in the first period in spite of Balogun's momentary jitters, then you have to feel for Raber Madjer, who would most certainly have desired more from his firepower. What summed up their frustrations in front of goal? Mandi headed over with the goal gaping and Slimani missed an unbelievable sitter, miscuing when he should have freakishly guided home: one would just wonder what The Fennecs are up to offensively. 2) Ola Aina might not match Echiejile's defensive astuteness just yet — It could have been a debut appearance to forget for the 21-year old had Riyad Mahrez really been in the mood and most people would agree that perhaps, the defensive line is better off with the much-maligned Echiejile, the Chelsea defender's tendency to occasionally switch off defensively though. For all we know, the regular left-back is not a speedster going forward, but defensively, even when he is caught out, would always find a way to recover and put his body on the line. The same can not be said of Aina(at least for now) who looked fidgety and unconvincing with clearances and whenever Mahrez was on the break, his only positives being his overlapping runs to join attacks and even most of his final balls were disappointing. 3) The goalkeeper berth is still very much up for grabs — Not in any way to taint the FC Ifeanyi Ubah goal tender but then, it is still very clear that Ezenwa might not match up with what quality firepower might throw at him, say an attacking class of Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala, or Harry Kane and Dele Alli was almost certain to find ways to breach him. That said, the 29-year old is yet to truly convince and his inferior composure when facing spot kicks had equally not helped. 4) Balogun and Troost-Ekong might always be called upon to bail out defensively — They hardly put a foot wrong in ditching out their defensive duties and even Balogun's out-of-sorts start never looked to be exploited. No secret too that he eventually grew into the game to post a near-untainted display, nonetheless. Troost-Ekong on his part, took no prisoners as usual and we soon lost count of his clearances and stifling Slimani almost completely out of play. 5) Iwobi and Iheanacho's performance poor by their standards — Iheanacho's listless display out wide left much to be desired and might have petered out badly, especially if The Desert Warriors had taken their chances at the opposite end. So there is no gainsaying that he should have performed better, judging by his standard. Iwobi who fared better should equally have been disappointed with his end product and it is such performances that the youngsters would quickly want to forget and put behind them, especially with the likes of Henry Onyekuru and Ahmed Musa waiting in the wings. in a nutshell, it is kept within a circle and under the table. Unlike in Naija, it's a way of life, else you will be left behind or be scorned at. In the US many business practices are actually corrupt. What we have is "smart" people who can get around the law yet still not break the law. Still corrupt in my opinion from a moral standpoint. For example, are there policemen who take bribe? Yes, but not commonplace. And when it happens it is kept down low. Modified Reference to your link. That's some high level corruption if true.. Were the allegations true? komekn: Corruption in the UK is subtle and once on the inside it becomes quite obvious. I will give you some indicative pointers you can fill in the blanks. But first check this link below
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/premier-league-managers-accused-of-taking-transfer-bungs-by-football-agents-a7333941.html
Then consider this
1. Alex Fergus and Sam Allardyce both have sons who are agents. Moyes and Pep have brother who are agents. I could give personal specific examples. What do you thinks going on clear conflict of interest and undue favour.
2. Each player is somebody's meal ticket better new player comes in his meal ticket goes out. Therefore meal ticket must be protected.
3. Unholy alliances which means recruitment manager's are linked with particular agents. So once a player comes in the agent makes sure that everyone will have reason to smile.
4. Manager sells player he gets his cut offshore or any other clandestine arrangement. Dele Alli agents when he was sold to Tottenham were the same agents of his Manager plus he get shares in the company. See below http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4138156/MK-Dons-didn-t-know-former-boss-shares-agent.html
5. Top player in Manchester city youth academy needs to make way for expensive import. In contrived practice game academy strikers told, "Mate we know what you can do, so today your job is to give the ball to Enrico" (for example) . Obviously Enrico looks great scores goals and they then justify paying £1million for a 15/16 year old. Recruitment team are appeased by agent after hefty unjustified transfer fee.
6. Championship team in the Midlands see video of prospective striker. Tell his representative, can't bring him in, he's going to prevent our two England youths from progressing. In other words he is better than our strikers and what's in it for me if we sign him.
7. Premiership team player goes on trial after various attempts prevent player from coming in. Finally plays in one game scores a hatrick and two assists contract offered under public duress. But later withdrawn on break down of communication.
I could go on and on and Onazi that's a small glimpse from mainly personal experiences.
With national team set up its very difficult to manipulate the system without a players meeting the required standards. Particularly with all the structured academy games and statistics there for all to see week in week out. |

Just as you could have won had Mahrez converted that penalty against Zambia. And you had nothing to say about that fraudulent penalty call. Keep saying if this and if that. The fact is Algeria were aggressive and very desperate from the blast of the whistle. I guess they were desperate to show your fans that they were not the weeping boys after all. Everything was at stake for you. But we responded in kind in the 2nd half. Edopesin: Rabah Madjer : Nigeria Refused To Take The Game Easy Despite World Cup
Algeria national team coach Rabah Madjer was satisfied with his side's 1-1 draw with Nigeria on Friday night, and admitted that the North Africans would have won if not for the opportunities they missed.
Israeli-based midfielder John Ogu broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute with a shot from distance, and the Super Eagles came so close to sealing their fifth win of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers but a controversial penalty was converted by Porto's Brahimi in the 88th minute.
''Frankly, we could not ask more to this team. We faced a very tough team from Nigeria, who did not let it go despite their World Cup qualification earned even before this match. We tried to develop our game despite the difficulties,'' Madjer said at a press conference attended by Le Buteur.
''That said, I think that what I saw tonight, the future of this selection looks bright. There are many positive things to remember, though, I repeat, not everything has been perfect.
''I think this draw is satisfying even if we could have won if we had converted the opportunities we got , especially in the second half.''
Despite the draw, Algeria finished last in Group B, having failed to register a win in the group stage for the first time since CAF expanded the qualifiers to 4-5 teams.

A player that I rated so highly, why would I turn around and be disrespectful. Good judgement is looking at the context at which something is said to know the true meaning of what was said. Even your choice of words was it better? NOT savvy. Pick one: adjective, savvier, savviest. 1. experienced, knowledgable, and well-informed; shrewd (often used in combination): consumers who are savvy about prices; a tech-savvy entrepreneur. noun 2. Also, savviness. practical understanding; shrewdness or intelligence; common sense: lol.. and you respect head-butters? Even as it stood, that guy should have gotten a red. The falling is to force the ref into making the right decision. I would do that instead of hitting the player back. Best way to get him punished, than standing and talking a bunch of nothing. Modified adjective, smarter, smartest. 7. quick or prompt in action, as persons. 8. having or showing quick intelligence or ready mental capability: a smart student. 9. shrewd or sharp, as a person in dealing with others or as in business dealings: a smart businessman. 10. clever, witty, or readily effective, as a speaker, speech, rejoinder, etc. BascoVanVeli: I am not teaching English but IMO that was not the right choice of word. African players in general won't fall to the ground and start rolling around. It has been imbedded in the South Americans who do and tbh it is a dirty and disgusting habit that takes away from the game like how Sergio Ramos spoilt the champions league finals. I personally respect penalty divers way more than people who go looking for red cards. |

Iwobi wasn't sluggish. You mean he became fat after the Zambia game? solonnachi: I agree with you. Iwobi is also becoming fat that he can't run at times and make necessary tackles & was sluggish. Was the bad pitch also responsible for that? |

Thank you sir. And I appreciate your opinion as well. Firstly I want to say if we must be realistic, there are not much lessons we can draw from yesterday's game based on the circumstance as regards the bad state of the pitch. Having said that, you cannot make final judgements as regards players best position of play from just one match. Else we would say Iheanacho is a bad winger, or we would say Iheanacho is a bad striker or a bad support striker etc, just because of single games he's played in those positions. You get me? With Mikel on the bench, who would you play as your AM? The most versatile players will have an edge in Rohr's team. The best test is the actual match. These players are quite versatile but they have to show how effective they are in each position on match day. Oasis007: Prof Joe!
I understand your Point, and kinda appreciate your in depth Knowledge in the Game, but there is something I wanna make clear Boss;
Managers and Coaches know what's good for the Players, they see them in Training, they know their capabilities and weaknesses. Can Iwobi play 10...?! Yes! But can he play the Position satisfactorily?! Not Sure!
I remember Dudes claiming Etebo best Position is AM, he was tried there Yesterday and we all saw he's ain't made for the Position.
Mkhtaryan claimed his best Position is 10, and Mourinho was playing him out of Position last Season. He gets his chances this Season, he was exceptional in the few Matches, but now turns out to be a ghost of himself.
At Dortmund, he played mostly on the LW, he banged Goals and Assists, won best Player in the League..... yet he's not satisfied playing on the Wing at United. I believe he has seen the Light now!
I may sound too rigid with my Submission on Iwobi best Position, but I believe his Handlers ain't making Mistakes by playing him on the Wing Sir. |

I've always made the argument that there is no such thing as natural position. While the AM may be Iwobi's preferred position he still has to contend with other players who can probably play better than him there at his club. So decisions like these are made in the interest of the team, not playing every player in their preferred position. As regards the way SE is set up, with Mikel in the bench, Iwobi is the best for AM. The pitch really affected our play yesterday. Iwobi's style depends heavily on a smooth pitch because his ground key passes needs that. I noticed that one cross that he failed to connect with Nwakaeme, the ball actually was rolling and then took a quick bounce as soon as he attempted the pass. solonnachi: This is enough reason to play Iwobi in the 10 role and not Etebo who struggled last night. Same thing is Iheanacho playing supporting striker not winger. |

I'm watching that game again right now. I will comment on other things I observed. But back to Shehu's issue. Even before that encounter, he would have gotten a second yellow on other occasions if it were for other refs. Shehu is easily my joint MOTM with Ekong, but hey I have to say things as it is. when I say not smart, you know what I mean. This is no English class. If I want to write serious English, trust me I can. It's ABC in football, when someone head butts you, you fall. BascoVanVeli: U can say savvy but saying the guy is not smart sounds very disrespectful. He was well discipline IMO no matter what he said Brahimi had no right to do what he did. I expect FIFA to take action. |

Thank you! this was the discussion I was having with someone. Shehu is not smart. He needs to be taught a lesson in discipline as well, as it was he who charged forward at Brahimi, uttering something. But with all fairness, I would have shown Brahimi a red Icon4s: The coaches need to teach our players how to be actors on the pitch.
That moment when Brahimi headed Shehu, he had no business being on his feet.
He ought to have fallen and rolled as if a sledge harmer was used on him.
That would probably have influenced the ref to show Brahimi the red card. These are some of the tricks South Americans and Europeans use to edge out their opponents when there is nothing to separate the two.
This singular act can prove crucial in a world cup game. |

I had modified the post. Please read it again. Would you rather start Ebuehi at LB? Modified. Ebuehi will play Right Midfield in a 4-4-2 formation comfortably well. And that means he could fall back to RB when Shehu advances, and vice versa komekn: The exercise is to see who my best players are and to test thier competency.
I would start Aina as RB we do not know how good Shehu is until thier is someone to compare him too.
Back to my principle club form should be the basis for inclusion all things being equal.
Ebuehi I really don't know how good his club form is. How outstanding is he in the Eredivisie. But this is a good test for him he should be in the mix.
Ebuehi is not able to replace Etebo that's not his position. That's unfair it's almost setting him up to fail. |

I ENJOY BEING ARSENAL'S NO. 10, SAYS ALEX IWOBI Tolu Olasoji
The Nigeria international is pleased with his role in Wenger's squad, while hoping the Blues slip up in the English toplight title race Alex Iwobi has revealed that he enjoys playing in the no. 10 position for Arsenal. With Mesut Ozil, absent through illness in the Gunner’s 2-0 English Premier League win over Crystal Palace, the 20-year-old was moved to the central attacking midfielder position. And repaid Arsene Wenger’s faith by sealing the victory with his second league goal of the season. The Nigeria international who spent his youth days playing behind the striker said he prefers featuring in the much-coveted position and keeps learning to be at his best in that area.
"It (No. 10) is where I have grown up playing and where I enjoy playing the most but wherever I am put on the pitch, I will do my best and whenever I get told to play any position I give 100 per cent,” Iwobi told Evening Standard. "There are a lot of players who can play No.10; a lot of ball players in the team. Every day in training I am always learning and trying to add it to my game."
Asked about his plans and expectations for the new year, the midfielder said: "I haven't looked that far ahead. "I concentrate on every game and taking it game by game. I don't know, I just have to wait and see. "On the team's behalf we are focusing more on ourselves and our performance. "Hopefully if Chelsea slip up, they slip up but we have to make sure we win to keep up the title race. The games are coming thick and fast; we just have to prepare the same.
"We have got the momentum, we are confident now and hopefully we can keep up our winning streak. I'm just trying to do the best I can. "If the team does well that is the main thing,” he concluded.

Iwobi is a Winger, in the Mould of Sanchez. He ain't a creative Midfielder who can orchestrate the Game from the Middle. Rather a type that can do the damages from the either Wings. |

Gabonese Referee In Trouble As CAF Labels Penalty Awarded Against Nigeria HarshNovember 11, 2017015 https://i0.wp.com/owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/IMG_3913.jpgThe Confederation of African Football ( CAF) have criticised referee Eric Otogo-Castane for awarding a late controversial penalty to Algeria which helped them draw 1-1 against Nigeria. Algeria forced the Super Eagles of Nigeria to a draw thanks to a late penalty converted by Yacine Brahaimi which cancelled out John Ogu 62nd minute goal for Nigeria. The incident that lead to the penalty has been criticised by CAF in their match report of the game, with a piece on their website tagged ” Algeria Convert Soft Penalty To Hold Nigeria “. Posted on the official website of the football governing body of Africa, the writer insist that the Shehu Abdullahi who was adjudged to have fouled Brahaimi in the box didn’t foul the forward. “Yacine Brahimi won and converted a harshly-awarded late penalty to rescue a 1-1 draw for Algeria against already-qualified Nigeria Friday in a World Cup Africa zone Group B dead-rubber. “The Gabonese referee ruled that Abdullahi Shehu fouled Brahimi as he moved into the box in Constantine, but big-screen replays suggested otherwise” reads the piece on cafonline.com --OGN |

Nwakaeme would have done better as a winger. As a CF, does not offer much threat. He is not fluid and sleek enough to lead the attack. And thanks boss! Kog45: Good rating Joebie, but i want to base my comment on Ezenwa and Nwakaeme based on your rating.
Ezenwa 5 clearly showed today is not our man for the world cup and this w definitely increase the call for Enyeama and his performance today has opened the door for others to compete again, just too glaring he can't do it.
A lot praise Ezenwa due to his performance against Cameroon and Zambia but watching the two matches all over again he did nothing special than the confidence he imposed which Akpeyi always lacking, apart from confidence Akpeyi is better.
Now we are having not so real keeper in Ezenwa and shaking Akpeyi, what do we do if Enyeama refused to come out of retirement.
A lot may argue this but I can tell anybody who care to listen that Dele Ajiboye is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.
There is need to give Uzoho and Alampasu chance, truly the two guys are young but they are talented, the height is there and having European club tutelage is an advantage.
Rohr and his coaching crew especially goalkeeper trainer should pay special attention to Uzoho not easy to be in goal for Deportivo at a very young age,Alampasu need to be recalled and let us see him in action, also Dele Ajiboye cos he is better than Ezenwa and Akpeyi.
Nwakaeme was a huge mistake but what baffled me was the way Nwakaeme was rated on this thread, honestly Kayode is far better, not a super eagle material.
Rohr should stop calling players based on recommendation from outside his crew,he should send his scout out cos just too embarrassing see player like Nwakaeme in eagles colour, funny enough Nwakaeme and Aaron Samuel were called up during Cameroon match. |

true. In a better pitch, we would would have been able to assess them better. TheGoodJoe: The match was an analyst nightmare because of how terrible the pitch was. We had a balance mix of players but the pitch made it difficult for the players to string simple passes, let alone long balls.
The forwards and full back had a terrible time running the length of the pitch. On a better pitch, this team would have performed far better. |
