Haha and I'm sure he won't be called up for our subsequent qualifiers, because reports had it that he failed to impress in camp.
AndreTAyodeji:

We just need to take them seriously like they were Cameroon. If we play every team like the way we played Cameroon in Uyo, we will be dreaded even outside Africa. We just need to come with that kind of seriousness all the time -- strong or weak opponents.

AndreTAyodeji:
Yeah bro,I really cant wait to see him in SE colours very soon.I sure believe the deed will be done,we just need to score 2 goals in the first half as we have been doing lately then we stay compact and hit them on the counter in the second half.

Exactly lol

My first comment you quoted was a response to someone who had the Eagles to qualify even if they "drew to Zambia and lose by 1000-0 to Algeria" and "Zambia wins by 100-0".

This thread is informative...it should be factual too.

You are right. H2H comes in when the first 3 rules still result in a stalemate.

In fact there are many knowledgeable people in football matters, new or old to this thread. This is just an ordinary forum where we learn from each other -- old or new

Rules 4, 5... come in if two or more teams are equal on the bases of rules 1, 2 and 3, according to the 2014 FIFA rule.
Overall goal difference is considered before looking at the interaction between the two teams.

Somebody must have suggested Aaron to him as a physical player. It's not like his recents stats have been impressive. It's solely based on what he once did for SE.

Humility017:
You see the reason why he should have been called in place of that Aaron Samuel...?

Well no cause for alarm. This has been our best WCQ campaign in recent times. We know how we use to do now.
Oct 7th is the date. I'm sure Dessers won't be in a hurry to choose if Belgium comes calling earlier. He wants to play for Nigeria. All we need to do is maintain contact with him.

Chrismario:
Belgium don qualify.
Next tin they will cap dessers and next will be history

Lol qualifying by H2H or goal difference is not a good look. We need to rise above that. We need these African teams to respect us like way back in the days.

Then let's go to the mundial and get past the QFs.

Let's show Nigeria is ahead in African football for once.

frostmate:
We should BEAT Zambia in Uyo and be over with it. No room for draw please or wait for last game to qualify. Too much tension. Zambia can smell blood. They know they are still in it, all they need is a win in Uyo and they have our loss to south Africa together with the surprise away wins in the other groups to be inspired. Let's be prepared!!
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 8:49am On Sep 06, 2017
Oh yes!!

Hopefully he makes his return against Algeria. Tammy, Dessers get capped as well. But the deed has to be done in Uyo for that to likely happen.

AndreTAyodeji:
Nice! The Stats will always speak for him. If he is not injured and keep churning our good performances in matches then a call up is imminent against Zambia.

Roma Nigerian Right Back Nura In Line To Face Chelsea In Champions League

Published: September 05, 2017
Roma Nigerian Right Back Nura In Line To Face Chelsea In Champions League
AS Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco has included the promising Nigerian right back Nura Abdullahi in his 23-man Champions League squad-list submitted to UEFA following the conclusion of the summer transfer window.

The Football College Abuja product has yet to make his debut for the Italian club but was an unused substitute in the opening round of the Serie A against Atalanta.

The 19-year-old is presently in the treatment room due to a Biceps femoris muscle injury, and is expected to return to action on October 18, meaning it is all but confirmed he will miss the Champions League games against Atlético Madrid and Qarabağ.

Abdullahi, who suffered the injury whilst training with the first team on August 22, is in contention to travel with Roma's first team to the English capital on October 17 for the match day three fixture against Chelsea, if he does not suffer a relapse.

Other Nigerians that were named in their respective teams group stage squads include Victor Moses (Chelsea), Emmanuel Emenike (Olympiakos), Henry Onyekuru (RSC Anderlecht) and Aaron Samuel (CSKA Moscow).

Switzerland international Manuel Akanji of FC Basel and Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria can represent their teams in the Champions League.

Good points my bro.

But have u ever wondered why we've drawn so many smaller teams in the past and why those teams are always too confident when they are about to play us?

Let me give the reason.

A team sport is similar to an individual sport in that it is a mental war. Many times games are half won based on the mental state of the competitors.

The fear factor is very crucial as much as the belief factor. If we've had a record of beating smaller teams silly that alone will make teams dread us, and then with our own abilities winning will be easiest.

I would have loved us to beat Cameroon because we had the chance to. we would have been able to say we beat the AFCON champs home and away. And Zambia will not come believing they can earn a good result in Uyo.

For now Zambia are high mentally. It will be a tough battle. We should approach it with this seriousness. I can tell you very well that after two good results, and also earning a draw away to Cameroon, they do not fear us. That mental state has helped them lately.

Modified
And u are right about our chances as regards hose permutations. But we are Nigeria. Approach the game as a must win, and forget goals differential etc. Let's rise above our past ways.. 3 points in Uyo period. Let's settle for excellence and not the average

Dedebanky85:
Reading with 4 pages to go I couldn't continue reading till I posted cos it would have been the same fear fear comments I'd be reading on and on. It's cos we are Nigerians we ni de fear this Nigerian team. We just took our foot off the pedal against CMR and missed a couple of chances, if not we would have been 3 goals up in CMRs house. Truth is if I were Zambia I'd fear thus Nigerian side to the bone marrow. All of a sudden, Zambia has turned to best team in the world. Infact every team is the best team when it comes to Nigeria. Against Swaziland, everyone said " those guys can win us at home". Against Ethiopia in 2014 qualifiers, people remembered the names of the Ethiopian players and I had to look through FIFA player of the year to see if either Shimeles Bekele or Saladin Said had just won the Apoty. Everyone reminded us how Mahrez gives people broken waist after each game, same was said about Bassagog, Danagog, Aboubakargog. I started asking myself "Abi Naija just de go answer present for these games ni". We would beat Zambia if they hope to come out to win us and put their destiny in their hands. We would be so devastating on the day that Zambia won't know what hit them. We may draw if they decide to sit back and take a point back and hope that Algeria win us while they try to win CMR and overtake us on GD. This may seem the most feasible path for them. But we are currently on +7 and Zambia on +2. God forbid that we draw Zambia and then lose to Algeria by 3 0, then our +7 goes to +4. The most I see Zambia winning CMR may be 3 0. So we mist try not to lose by more than 2 0 if were ever decide that evil spirit wants to overtake us. But I don't see us losing to this Algeria. And I am very very very very sure we would beat Zambia in Uyo cos they would fall for the bait and come to attack us in Uyo and that would be their undoing.
Guys let's not fear any team this is Super Eagles abeg.

Official – Samuel Chukwueze “Nigerian Robben” Inks Five Year Deal With La-Liga Side Villarreal
September 5, 2017010

Highly rated Nigeria youth international Samuel Chukwueze has officially signed professional terms with Spanish La-Liga side Villarreal as first reported by this football portal.

Chukwueze trained with the youth team of the La-Liga side early this year but couldn’t sign professional terms as he wasn’t up to the age of 18 pegged by FIFA as the age to make international transfer.

The exciting forward who can play as a winger on either flanks posted pictures of his contract signing in the presence of his mother and his agent at the club secretariat, and sources close to the player confirmed to Owngoalnigeri.com that the deal is for five years.

He will spend the first few months of his stay at the club with the youth side from where his progress will be monitored for possible promotion to the first team.

At Villarreal he will team up with his ex U17 mate Jack Ipalibo who joined the team last summer, and had a very good season with the U18s which has lead to his promotion to the B team this season.

Tammy Abraham Sparks International Tug Of War Between Nigeria And England

Tammy Abraham Sparks International Tug Of War Between Nigeria And England
The Nigeria Football Federation have set the ball rolling in their bid to cap England U21 international Tammy Abraham ahead of the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.

Camberwell-born Abraham has caps for England at U18, U19 and U21 level but this is not binding until he plays competitively for the Three Lions.

NFF President Amaju Pinnick has spoken glowingly of the youthfulness of the new Nigeria senior squad, and has targeted Abraham after convincing Chelsea defender Ola Aina to pledge his international future to the Super Eagles.

''You take a first look at the team and you see players like William Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Leon Balogun, Alex Iwobi, Chidozie Awaziem, Tyronne Ebuehi, Kelechi Iheanacho and now we have Ola Aina as well,'' Pinnick told thenff.com.

''We are working on getting Tammy Abraham. There are others like Henry Onyekuru and Olanrewaju Kayode.

''I believe we are so blessed and that this team will cause a big stir in Russia, and if not in Russia, in Qatar in five years time.''

Abraham, who is considered one of the promising youngsters in England, was on target for the Young Lions in their 3-0 rout of Latvia in a UEFA European U21 Championship on Tuesday.
