safarigirl:
You did not come here to talk of football, so, keep moving. Don't come back if you are talking beliefs and values. This is not that kind of thread

Just in case these guys are not hung over, I would like the following to line-up

Ezenwa

Aina...Ekong...Balogun...Elderson

Ndidi...Onazi...Mikel

Victor Moses...Ighalo...Simon

However, in case their indiscipline was in excess...I expect the following line-up

Ezenwa (Alampasu dey like who go like party)

Shehu(good boy)...Leon...Ebuehi...Elders on

Ogu (Ndidi go like faaji)...Mikel...Etebo (Onazi sef dey like party man)

Moses...Ighalo(Jesus baby)...Kelechi (Simon dey like party starter)

Come to think of it, was Friday not Ekong's birthday? Dem no dey do party if person get birthday ni? I endorse their party even more sef, how will somebody have birthday and they won't party? When no be Deeper Life e be grin grin

Sir I only asked whether u know if he follow? even Ebuehi knows not to get distracted. But knowing is one matter. Action is another matter.. Those calabar girls fit make u miss flight to Yaounde oh.. SuperNerd, u know say u be nerd Na.. Careful oh.. U no know some girls eh when don make guys hate their whole family.. Anyway I just dey joke..

Mikel Na the captain. Let's HOPE he will continue doing a good job and not get distracted himself..

TheSuperNerd:
Mikel follow abi? is that what you want to start throwing around coz I see you mention this a second time... cheesy.

Mikel who spoke about the need to win all remaining games and stay this team the same way he did at Rio 2016. This is the Mikel who will be so easily distracted all of a sudden? Abeg... Sir Joebie... don't go there abeg.

And yes... I don't buy ANS' exaggerated reports. Why post such news if not to get clicks on their sites and also distort the true picture of the team's focus...

Like I said... even if it happened... Let Wisdom rule alongside Discipline and making sure it does not repeat itself. These players are the future and it is what they learn now that they will apply with the next generation when Mikel is long gone from the team.

Now to Yaounde... don't want to speak anymore on this matter.

We have a game to focus on.

Oh Lord!! Preach!! But nobody is condemning here.. Why are some of us missing the point ??
blueto:
From my view as Christian and especially as one who believes on grace and the gift of righteousness as seen in Romans 5:17, I want to say that we all have sinned, and that is why in the new covenant, God has given us the gift of righteousness, because we can't earn by ourselves. Even the likes of David, Moses, Solomon and others in the old covenant that emphasised so much on obeying God and keeping the law still found themselves in doing what displeased God. So God decided that through Christ's death on the cross, he has fulfilled the law and obeyed God on our behalf since we couldn't perfectly keep the law, and made the gift of righteousness available for everyone to receive in Christ. So God do no longer assess or judge us base on our obedience or self-righteousness or self-regulation in the new covenant but with the obedience and righteousness of Christ, so we are at right standing with God even when we make mistakes, as long as we believe and confess the gift of righteousness through His son.

So in the same token, I will refrain from condemning them because because we all have been guilty in one way or the other. He that is without sin, should cast the first stone. This is were the grace of is made perfect. It is defined as an unmerited, undeserved and unearned favor from God.

Firstly, you are now saying the story in entirety is not true.

Secondly, you know whether Mikel follow? Or maybe Na him dey distracted now sef? That's where my fallibility talk stems from. Abi u be Mikel? Lol
TheSuperNerd:
Now that is the message I already said Mikel and his other elders in the team will remind the young ones about. Haven't I mentioned that already? smiley

Fact remains this... Keeping the harmony of a team made of exuberant youth is super challenging. It takes not just discipline but Keen Wisdom. That is the whole issue. Now let us face the boys in Yaounde. shall we? grin

Sir this matter is about timing and not whether you are Christian or not.. Or whether you carry girls or not..As for me the battle is still on. And we should act like it.. It's one battle in two parts. The second is even more crucial.. You don't celebrate victory like that when your enemy is getting ready "to fight another day"

Modified
If I were the coach I woul have set certain limits especially during this time period. That's in no way going to hinder demonstrating good player management
TheSuperNerd:
My message is about Using Wisdom to keep a team together when the deed is not done... and so close to the finish line. you think it is easy to handle a bunch of grown adolescents and young adults? cheesy Do you realise what it will take for Mikel and Balogun to maintain team flow and happiness?

Mikel is faliible... yeah... no one says he is... so also are you. So also are we all isn't it? wink So EOD on fallibility.

And my analogy works perfectly because I was not talking of the Victory itself but the mangnitude and manner of the victory.... Israel fought more wars even after that Victory. So you see that you missed my point.

The Boys scored a great victory over an eternal rival... in a manner that our past footballers could only dream of. This is what I am talking about. Some of them are bound to lose their heads and get over the moon and partyyyyyyy.... u garrit now? Good... so it takes wisdom to not be quick to just stamp your foot and spoil "Their fun" but to let some things slide because of euphoria and later communicate to them the need to always remain grounded no matter the victory. Tell them though they were allowed to party but in truth, they should not have because To achieve the highest in their field, they must be disciplined and not lose steam until the task is truly done no matter the magnitude of the little victories along the way....

...That way... you have done two things... earned more respect and love from the players and also made them understand that they should know better and that next time.. such should not happen.

But when you are always quick to charge in and correct as the Hitler of discipline without being sensitive to the "Moments".... you will only complicate matters and give the team a bad view of your style of leadership even if you mean well....

Handling young adults and grown men takes Wisdom even when leading them by the hands of Discipline.

You and safarigirl Na d same mama born una.. Even siblings different o.. Nobody has preached sainthood or "monkhood" since this discussion started.. Nobody has said they don't carry girls etc or they wont have done what they did. We are all concerned fans... that's all..

We are not new to camp rules (when set) even as non professionals. Our reaction is in no way judgmental or an attempt to condemn.. The point has been made and it is crystal clear..

TheSuperNerd:
And as professional footballers, don't you think they should know about this more than any of us who are nonprofessional footballers??

And again... Let them learn. They have made the mistake but I am damn sure they know what is at sake more than any of us.

This was the same way most people here were screaming about how we were revealing a little of our training sessions via OGN and claiming that the Camerounians were seriously preparing and all that and doing so in secret... yet they came down here "4-Nothing"

Abeg... let us have perspective and focus on the needful. Let us not overflog this. What is wrong is wrong but also The Happiness and Flow of a team is far more important than forming 100% saint... Even Jesus didn't condone nonsense yet he used wisdom to reach out and correct mistakes made by even his own disciples. Overflogging this won't work.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Joebie: 2:25pm On Sep 03, 2017
It's ANS etc job to report. It's ours to react. But like I've always maintained I don't do this because I think they come here to read our comments. I'm sure they don't. So why should I take all these seriously. If they do not win on Monday I will be tempted to atribute the loss to this behavior. If they win, I will go get my girls and celebrate as well hahaha

Hitler of descipline lol... Oga u just dey talk like say u dey camp with Mikel etc.. Even Mikel is fallible. Let's not make him a god now.. Let's not lie to ourselves, that win sweet all of us well well.. So some of us are throwing away logic because we are still basking in that euphoria. Ok now wake up to reality. like I've been saying we have not qualified yet. So that your analogy don't come in. When the battle is won U can quote that scripture..this is far from disciplinarian matter.. This is teaching focus until the deed is done. Lessons they will have to learn as professionals..
TheSuperNerd:
And who is defending poor behavior if I may ask?

Even in the Bible when David (or was it Jonathan... saul's son) broke God's command to not take bread from the temple found on the ark of the covenant, He was excused. God cut him some slack...

The people even spoke up for him... know why? because Moments before that... he had just led them to victory over their enemies... he singlehandedly won the day for them. God spared his life and the priests would not punish him. But ofcos such mistake was not to be repeated but as reward for his bravery in battle, that one mistake was overlooked and even forgotten.

These boys will learn eventually... They have a leader in Mikel... I am sure he is talking to them and reminding them of many more battles to come after this. There will be more WC Qualifiers and Afcons to fight for and it is this young generation that will have to carry it on. Mikel will tell them something like...

"....have your party now... no wahala... but I tell you this.. this is not going to be a recurring pattern because we have to set an example of discipline and focus for even younger players that will come after we the leaders are gone and the mantle of leadership falls to you...."

See.. Sometimes... you have to cut people some slack and at the same time pass the message of truth, focus and discipline across... it is more effective than being a Hitler of discipline and disrupting the team happiness in the long run.

My bro, personally eh I would have preferred they go to Cameroon earlier. So it will be in their subconscious that the battle is not over.. Then after we pick the sole ticket they can return home to party as they like.
TheGoodJoe:
I agree with you. This news is disappointing. After such a win, the priority of the players is to have a good hot meal and a long rest to revitalize their body for the next day.

I hope they change. The aim should be qualify and then celebrate the victory.

Danger Looming: Super Eagles Stars Import Girls Into Their Hotel To Celebrate Win Vs Cameroon

Danger is looming ahead of the Super Eagles match day four World Cup qualifier against Cameroon in Yaounde on Monday.

Some Super Eagles players were excessive in their celebrations after 'importing' girls into the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel in the wake of the massive win over the Indomitable Lions on Friday.

''The hotel was full of girls in the night after the game, the Nigerian Federation could not do anything about it as they don't own the hotel,'' a top source who witnessed the scenes that took place told allnigeriasoccer.com.

''It's more embarrassing that the players were not discreet about it, the girls come to the hotel lobby and the players send their personal assistants to bring them inside.

''Players were partying in the club at the hotel and these girls were there. They purposely switched off the lights so nobody will see them, though I understand lights are dimmed in night clubs''.

Nigeria lead Group B of the World Cup qualifiers with nine points after three matches, but Zambia can cut the points deficit to two if they beat Algeria and the Super Eagles lose to the Indomitable Lions tomorrow.

Onazi played right-back at the AFCONp

Modified
I mean at least in one of the matches. Can't remember him ever playing as left-back

Kog45:
No but d guy should show urgency in his game.He was a missing link in d defence against Cameroon,he need to brace up,Mikel is doing it at 30 why not him, funny enough Leon is now a leader in d defence instead of him who has been with d team for so long.

This is not d issue of castigation or Echiejele wasn't good, people just have to comment on his display, against South Africa he had a woeful performance and against Cameroon he was a suspect. He just need to show us he is still d same Echiejele we used to know nothing more, though i w never suggest Thiago as possible replacement,i w rather have Echiejele.

Good Aina is eligible now who was very comfortable at both full backs and with Shehu,Aina,Ebuhei,Echiejele i believe we are OK at both full backs.I remember somebody suggesting Onazi cos Onazi did it during one of our qualifying match during Keshi's era.He took d place of Echiejele coz Keshi need to drop Echiejele and Raheem Lawal replaced Onazi as DM.

NIGERIAN-BORN WINGER COMPLETES MOVE TO QPR

(Photo Confirmation) Nigerian-Born Winger Completes Move To Queens Park Rangers
EFL Championship club Queens Park Rangers have confirmed that they completed the signing of Nigerian-born winger Bright Osayi-Samuel before the close of the summer transfer window on August 31.

The 19-year-old, who joins the London club on a three-year deal, last played for Blackpool, whom he helped secure promotion to the League One last season.

Osayi-Samuel told Queens Park Rangers official website : ''I'm happy to get the deal done - and the hard work starts for me. I just want to show my worth to this team and repay the club for bringing me here.

''Of course this is a step-up for me, but I am confident in my own ability and believe I can improve as a player here.''

Osayi-Samuel links up with Nedum Onuoha and Republic of Ireland youth-teamer Olamide Shodipo at The Hoops.

Olanare say goodbye to Russia 2018.

CSKA MOSCOW'S AARON SAMUEL OUT OF RETURN LEG

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Aaron Samuel will not be involved when Nigeria tackle Cameroon at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde in the second leg of their World Cup qualifier.

The CSKA Moscow striker was permitted by manager Gernot Rohr and his assistants to depart the Super Eagles camp in Uyo on Saturday.

Samuel, who was initially placed on the standby list for the World Cup qualifiers, received an urgent phone call to return to Europe.

The former Guangzhou R&F and Sarpsborg 08 star was named on the substitutes bench against the Indomitable Lions yesterday but did not get game time.
