They played woefully because any good attacking side would have put in up to 10 goals against this Barca side with a high defence line. Against Bayern, Barca didn't use this same high line tactics. A team like man city would have put in like up to 10 goals against this Barca team with such high line set up. Of course the Barca defence would not be able to keep up with the pace of these guys with those long balls. But despite such flaws in the Barca set up, Madrid still couldn't capitalize but always found themselves in offside. Any team playing a high line is a gift which any attacking team would exploit and score many goals. That's why you'd see that from the start till end of the game, Madrid had countless chances to finish off the game but their strikers especially mbappe disappointed full time
