Lyrics

Don't you think that you deserve the truth
Though it stares you right in the face
Your heart's hid beneath all the sheets that you
Pulled over your face when you stopped to try

I walked on egg shells
Shone through the dark
Oh, I bled to death for you
I rose, I came to
You with the goody bag
All that you'll ever need...
Nice one bro, although genres like this don't get real recognition if you put in power, you might just be getting your low key pay like Johnny Drille, Ric Hassan, etc.
But if you can tweak your sound to be more Afro it would help you a lot.
Afro Pop or RB has potential in the market.
Don't underestimate Afrobeat, many African Artists are richer than their western counterparts.
Music/RadioRe: 3 Crowdfunding Platforms For Musicians by Joemetry(m): 2:15pm On May 05, 2020
mantosa:
The year 2000 started on a different revolution and the music industry was not left out when Marillion decided to make a new album without a contract from his usual phonograph producer who he claimed cheated him of sales royalties. In order to fund the next album, Marillion asked the fans for help. At this time the band had 6000 email addresses on their database who they sent mails to asking to be ready to purchase the album in advance – 5800 agreed and only 200 were not interested! (The 200 can go hug a lion anyways). This was the turning point for the industry and other creatives. Many platforms allow creatives to beg for money and finances to bring their idea and talent to life. More than usual, they end up generating more than enough capital to fulfill their dreams.

Kickstarter

Though the company operates from Brooklyn, New York, it spreads its benefits to the rest of the world. As New York is the home of creativity in the world, it is no surprise that they decided to sit among all creatives. Kickstarter admits all creative start-ups and businesses. Most artists on the platform beg for around $5000 on Kickstarter in order to record an album and often get the sum if they are popular. In 2012, American singer Amanda Palmer requested for $100,000 from her fans through Kickstarter to make her new album. 24,883 fans donated a staggering $1.2 million. She used the money to market the album and tour.

IndieGogo

Unlike their competitor, Kickstarter, this platform has its headquarter situated in California, a hive which accommodates almost all creators of music, films, designs and technology. Their model allows entrepreneurs to ask for money in bringing their dreams to life. During this pandemic, they have helped independent musicians record EPs and albums that have drawn attention on TikTok and triller and other social media spaces generally.

GoFundMe

The platform has boasted of donating more than $5bn from its loyal donors. It also allows people to request for funding for all courses unlike the first two that are solely for creative individuals but musicians have fairly received the goodwill of donors from GoFundMe in recent times.

Veebliz:
Some grammatical mistakes you make and things you say wrong.

Hello, everyone. Before I shoot, I’d like you to read this:

After learning some Spanish and having to correct a lot of English in WhatsApp groups, I’ve discovered that some of us say some things wrong. Some like saying things like “English is not our language”, “Who English epp? (Who does English help?)” “Does it add money to my account?” especially when you correct them. But most of these are said out of ignorance. English is not your language, but why do you use it? English has helped a lot of people, YES! It has. Why else do we use English to teach at school? In fact, more research has been done in English than in any other language, 98% of scientific materials published today are in English, I’m not saying that other languages are inferior, but the truth is that, some people do need to stop being ignorant and face it – English really DOES matter…and YES – it can add money to your account in so many ways; you think about it.

Yeah, I feel like it’s important for me to add this: I’ve come across some Nigerians who speak English as their first tongue; I do as well, so the idea of saying English is not our language doesn’t make any sense at all. I have no problem with anybody speaking any indigenous language.

The English language is not a foreign language to Nigeria, it has mixed with our cultures in a unique way, and therefore has become ours – one of our languages, even though I don’t speak the language of my indigenous tribe, I still have some of their cultural values instilled in me, I cherish and respect them.

Aha! I must not skip this; I've interacted with Brits and Americans on the internet, so I see them make silly mistakes as well, but the ones I've written here are some of the mistakes I see my country people make often. Let’s see some of the grammatical mistakes people make and things they say wrong.

1) The verb – to make;

Of course, you would have definitely seen some people make mistakes with this verb, it’s common to hear people say things like:
“This picture makes me TO remember my past.”
“Eating all the time will make you TO be fat.”
“If you use this medicine, it will make you TO sleep.”
I am sure you’ve already spotted the mistake, right? – Yeah, I made it obvious. The verb – to make doesn’t take “to” after it, so the correct thing to say in each sentence above is: “This picture makes me remember my past.”
“Eating all the time will make you (be) fat” – in this kind of sentence, it’s more common and therefore more natural to skip the verb – “be”.
“If you use this medicine, it will make you sleep.”
The only time it’s fine to use “TO” after the verb – to make is when it is in the passive; for example, “I was made TO kneel down yesterday at school.” NOT I was made kneel down yesterday at school.”

2) The verb – to enable;

This verb requires “to” after it, but it is so amusing that some people would leave out “to” using this verb but would use it with the verb “to make”.
Here is an example: “This software will enable you TO work on your computer efficiently.” NOT “This software will enable you work on your computer efficiently.”

3) The verb – to allow;

This verb also requires “to” after it.
Here is an example: “My parents will not allow me TO go out today.” NOT “My parents will not allow me go out today.”

4) The verb – to reply;

The mistakes made with this verb are pretty common, this verb is intransitive, which means it cannot go with a direct object, therefore, it needs a preposition for it to make sense, and therefore, you reply TO somebody or TO something. NOT reply somebody or something.
“Why didn’t you reply my messages?” is WRONG. The correct thing is: “Why didn’t you reply TO my messages?”

5) The idiom – to be about to do something;

Hahahaha , I remember hearing someone say: “I was just about asking same thing.” Well, the correct thing is: “I was just about TO ask you THE same thing.”

6) The noun – stuff;

Yeah! This particular noun is such a pain in the ass for some people, it is uncountable, so, it cannot take an S after it and an indefinite article can’t be used with it either.
“Please give me five minutes – I want to get my STUFF” NOT “Please give me five minutes – I want to get my stuffs”.
“Where did you get all this stuff?” NOT “Where did you get all these stuffs?”
“Where IS all my stuff?” NOT “Where are all my stuffs?”
“This is good stuff.” NOT “This is a good stuff.”
The only context where stuff can take an S is if it’s used as a verb: “Ade always stuffs himself with so much junk food.”

7) The nouns – slang and jargon;

English is weird, yeah…but it’s not hard. So many people make mistakes with these nouns - These nouns are uncountable – yeah you read it right; UNCOUNTABLE.
I remember reading an article sometime ago, it had: “20 slangs you will hear in Nigeria” as its title: If you’ve been reading this article carefully, you will have known what is wrong with the sentence.
Numbers can’t be used with uncountable nouns, so the correct thing is: “20 SLANG WORDS/EXPRESSIONS/TERMS you will hear in Nigeria”. Or simply put: “Some slang you will hear in Nigeria.” – So you can use “some” with uncountable nouns and countable nouns as well.
“That is internet slang.” NOT “That is an internet slang.”
“Too much slang was used in the movie.” NOT “Too many slangs were used in the movie.”
“His messages were full of jargon.” NOT “His messages were full of jargons.”

8 ) The noun – information;

I don’t need to explain this, just keep it in mind that it is UNCOUNTABLE.
“Thank you for that information.” NOT “Thank you for those informations”
“What a wonderful piece of information!” NOT “What a wonderful information!”
“I want to share some information with you.” NOT “I want to share you an information.”

9) The noun – advice;

This is uncountable as well: make sure you do not mistake it for the verb: advise. The noun is spelt with a C and the verb with an S.
“I need (some) advice from you.” NOT “I need some advices from you.” NOT “I need an advice from you.”

10) All what;

If you’ve been saying this, then you need to STOP saying it! This is WRONG! It should be either: “All (that)” or “All OF what”.
“All (that) I’ve been saying is that….” NOT “All what I’ve been saying is that…”

11) The noun – headache;

Just as people make mistakes with uncountable nouns, they also do the same thing with countable nouns – it’s very common to hear “I am having headache”. This sentence is wrong. It should be: “I have a headache.”

12) The noun – news;

This is an uncountable noun. wink
“This is good news!” NOT “This is a good news!”

13) The expression – in the twinkling of an eye;

I’ve heard and seen people say: “In the twinkle of an eye.” – This is wrong of course: it should be: “In the twinkling of an eye.”

14) The famous – “I don’t get”.

Okay, I don’t want to be too annoying because I KNOW that some will get angry reading this article, but guess what? Learning never ends. We are used to saying this, but you should know that the verb – to get in this case is transitive, so it needs an object to sound okay.
So I recommend that you start saying: “I don’t get IT.”
Saying “I don’t get” has always sounded weird to me, I’ve asked some foreigners just to be sure it's not just me but they said it sounded weird to them as well.

15) The noun – furniture;

I usually see furniture makers put up a sign like “ABC furnitures.”
This doesn’t work in English; it’s an uncountable noun, so you already know the drill.
“They like playing with furniture.” NOT “They like playing with furnitures.”

I am Nigerian, so I speak more Nigerian English, I don’t hate it, I just like when people make good use of it because I know what it feels like when you murder someone's language. When I was in junior secondary school, I remember saying something wrong in Yoruba while I was playing with my friends, you needed to have seen how three of them were throwing corrections at me. (
There are so many people who care about mistakes – especially in English.
These are just a few of the mistakes. I could keep on writing and writing, but I will leave it here.
So, I hope this helps your English if you’ve been saying it wrong.

Ermmmm, one last thing before the final full stop: This is for people who can’t do without starting a sentence with or using “Am”; What exactly is wrong? Please stop making this horrible mistake, if you can’t use the contraction: “I’m…” then use: “I am…”
It’s not hard work. The pronoun I is just one letter.

Thanks for reading.

Veebliz.
The truth is people like hardly create WhatsApp groups or forums to post educational materials but the scammers here will always do, I admire their courage.

Thanks.

EMEKUSBOY9:
HI GUYS,

Am going to be talking about things that i noticed in ivory coast.

Everything i will be stating here is from my own experience over there and not "hearsay"

Firstly, i need to say this as first thing i noticed over there in ivory coast.

This people always mind their businesses. They dnt interfere in anybody life and choice. i wish Nigeria as a country can learn this.

I remember how i was homeless and the first girl i met took me to her place and her mother could not say anything because is her choice ( if it was in nigeria now her mum would have told her that i was homeless and not good for her grin)

Is only in ivory coast you can find a church and a drinking bar in same place even close to an hotel. Am not talking one minutes away from each other but both building using same " fence" grin ( that is too much tolerance)

I remember a story when i was still in "ivory coast " am not going to mention the name of the Nigeria church i was attending at that time, but that issue was so funny to me uptill now! Listen guys....

I was with my 3 Nigeria friends, and we were all seating outside the church that evening when a police man who is living close to the church came and make a report about the noise pollution from the church speaker at that time( this speaker is little bit faulty and i believe that was why the noise was unbearable for the man kids) the man was complaining about his kids not able to study at night during the exam period. When he told us... Bobby and Isioma assured him of taking the matter to the pastor.

Listen guys! When isioma and bobby told the pastor. the pastor told them dnt worry we are going to chase the bars and hotel with our speakers grin honestly uptil today i dnt know if the pastors was right or wrong because i dnt like too criticize any pastor.

i was just thinking if it were in Nigeria if a church and bar can be tolerated to stay in one premises. When the church speakers are ON and the bar music big speakers are ON also. This is to tell u people that this people always mind their businesses

The other thing i notice in " ivory coast" is that if i came to visit u and u were eating while i came in at that time, u will have to stop eating and give me the whole food to continue eating... And is now left for me to take it or permit you to carry on with ur food. Even if u people are 5 eating in one plate... You all need to stop and give me everything to continue eating grin ( trust Nigerians for this advantage)

The other thing i noticed that if u have visited an Ivorian person for like 2 times and the 3rd times he or she gave u food or ask u to come and eat, then if u refused..... He or she will start suspecting u, because to them if u love them why would u not want to take anything from them. ( saying NO to anything they gave u is almost a SIN) grin

in ivory coast 95 percent if not all mothers... knows their daughter boyfriends, that is to say if u are dating any girl in ivory coast her mother will surely know. So u better have it in your mind before u drive rough .

Listen guys! Have seen a situation when Bobby approached a girl and they both fixed a time too meet up, but funny enough and to our surprise we saw the girl and her mother coming to meet Bobby grin we were are all shocked!

That moment Bobby told us this in pidgin at the bar " i no do again" grin ( bush meat don catch the hunter) cool

I am not joking and not saying " hearsay" to u guys. am telling u all about my memories and " fact file"

I noticed in " ivory coast " all schools starting from the primary to the higher level ( that is universities/colleges) has morning and night session grin but the elders are more oppurtuned to be seen at night school session grin ( no excuse or age issue why u should not be educated) even adult dey primary school

So..... many things to say but i have to stop and come back soon with an update in few days time... Hopefully to write more on (SAMEDI SUA) grin

Thanks

TravelRe: Travelling Out Should Not Be So Difficult If You Know What To Do by Joemetry(m): 4:37pm On Apr 30, 2020
Lamecod:
I want to advice everyone that is interested in travelling out of Nigeria ,to start thinking out of the box ,most of the embassies in Nigeria are overwhemed with high numbers of applicants ,coupled with a large numbers of fraudulent applicants ,has also made it difficult for them to sometimes be objective in doing their job.

I had alot of experiences with some embassies in Nigeria from Poland to USA,Canada,UK,Mexico ,Italy and South Africa. Most of the time applications for visa was denied without any concreate reasons, but its their country and one as to respect that , the most painful was Mexican visa which was denied because the counsular was not able to contact the university i wanted to attend a Spanish language course,with making any delibrate effort.

If you are fed up with visa denial and wasting money, i would advice you to think of moving out of Nigeria to a less popular country which is visa free or on arrival outside the African continent legally as a student or work visa ,then from there you can apply for a country that is closer in standard to the country you intend to travel to ,if you get the visa go and come back,do not abuse the visa rule it always back fire ,you can now apply for your destined countries based on your preference , use the HDI (countries list of Human development index ) to guide you on where to start from .
You will be so suprised how some countries have empty embassies and how friendly you could be treated if you have the right documents .

In my case i applied for schengen visa from an euroasia country and got it .the process was so easy and what stuck me was the limited docuemntation needed ,because i'm a student ,instead of asking for millions in my bank account ,they simply ask how many days you intend to spend ,if 5 day then you are required to have only 80 euro per day for living expenses ,thats all and letter from your school and 6 months valid legal permit and an hotel and flight resevations.

kindly note most top countries like CANADA and USA both have a very high visa denial rate for Nigerian over 70percent in 2019 ,if in doubt google is your friend ,think outside the box and reduce your chances of wasting your hard earned money .
This taste exactly the way the truth tastes...

HI GUYS,

Honestly speaking i want to thank u all for your time on my thread starting from page 1 to this present page.

i will say it a gain am not writing all this stories to brag or prove am a " guru" ( never)

Everything i had written on this thread was divine touch from above to use my own story to lift people who are still ready to fight till the end and until they achieve purpose.

Today story is just something short to warm me up for the big story that i will be sharing after this present one

i will be saying random stories that i had not said before, because i want this stories to lead us out till this "lockdown " is over grin ,
and this stories is between me and my 3 friends. i need to rush it because i have a lot of stories to write on my friends and am still asking for some approval to write more about them grin and if possible i will bring them in to also testify .

Now back to why we are here!
i remember 5pm everyday apart from saturday was our preparation time for evening slaying grin ( i hope am using the right words) by 5pm i dnt even go home once i left my Ivorian friends... i am heading towards the church too meet my guys and by then Chidi and bobby are already coming from work while i wait.

Our direction is always at that Nigeria woman canteen, because we have a friend called coach who is like our " informat" grin infact he knows everything about that country, and the laws. also how to approach an Ivorian babes.... grin that is why is called "THE COACH * in ABIDJAN.

we eat at that restaurant then proceed to anywhere we want to explore but most times is bobby's affairs with a woman he likes and he want us to go the girl place. But once is 10pm i always leave them because i have a woman at home and i dnt want my woman to sleep before i get home, if not..... Tomorrow morning will be like confession time for me grin and i just want to build that trust in her.

i remember when 3 of my friends were all looking for job and i have no choice to follow them, even if i was not looking for any job. i was not having soccer training that day and i decided to hangout with them, then later i will join my Ivorian friends.

This day was so funny, let me tell u people one thing " if u are in a foreign country u dnt care and u are not shy of anything " grin this 3 guys were just walking in all shops, bars, restaurants seeking for employment any where grin they know money can be made. And the funny thing is that as they move they insult them self as in form of joke.

i also remember, how i went out to a club with bobby, Chidi and Isioma. That day was the day i stayed very late apart from Saturdays ( SAMEDI SUA) grin oh that is the same day i know " good friend" is priceless. And that same day was the only day i was held by " Ivorian police " known as ( gendarmarie) by Ivorian people because i was not having that "identity card ". Please this information goes to people that are about to make a journey to " ivory coast".... Listen! Once u get into the country and after some time if not the next day of ur arrival, make sure you get an "Ivory coast residents identity card " is for every nationals and is easy and cheap to do " 1000 to 1500 in NAIRA" that is from 2000 CFA.

So that day i was held and almost approaching their police station then they ask me to call any of my relative or friends to come and pay fine. That was how i called Bobby, and he sent Isioma to come and bail me because he too was also not having the card. Isioma was the only one who has the card among us.

But this identity card is not always in use, but is good u have it at hand because sometimes their police and securities outfits like to ask and mostly by December period, they always want to review the good guys from the bad guys grin

Thanks guys

i will be talking more about ( SAMEDI SUA ) on my next update. Stay tuned! Guys

“Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward."

Thanks again bro.

Pay zero attention to those trying to flip your experience against you.
That's what we do in Nigeria and then complain why things never get better.
Even with your openness to answer questions relating to Côte d'vour you can still see how our people are reacting and claiming to be all knowing.

Good day house this is Ayodele Bishop of B-Automobile Nigeria Limited. We are going to be attending to car problems and giving out ideas and we will be dropping tips on car maintenance.
Oga my case slightly differs from your topic but still tangent to autos though.

While awaiting the compulsory NYSC that I would be due for in 9-11 months time I have been advised to use this period to gain practical knowledge in my area of interest as an engineering graduate since all we do in school is calculations with zero practicals.
I want to plead with you to create an opportunity for me in your business to help me acquire a bit of practical knowledge before heading out for NYSC.
I am a Mech Engineering graduate flexible enough to adapt to your ethics.

Thank you in advance.

Matthew 6:1-34
