State police is not advisable. Governors will use them with impunity to stiffle every opposition in their states. Also inter-state police coordination will be difficult and criminals will be the better for it. Imagine if someone from Kano commits a serious crime in Akwa Ibom and runs back to his state and the police in Kano shields him because they think his crime is backed up by sharia law or because Akwa Ibom has a rival political party there. If the whole country could be on a lockdown for months because of COVID (and by the way how many Nigerians died due to COVID?), why can't we declare a state of emergency on insecurity? We are losing precious lives on daily basis on account of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and all manners of violent crimes. The political class seems less bothered, after all they have a sense of security around them. But let them continue, they fail to understand that at this rate they too are not safe.

Yes! There may be need to acquire more income and better form of life especially for the younger age persons but then don't forget that endless bill payments and taxation will take the toll on them in such countries. Not all that glitters is always gold
