Romance › Re: The Lady In My Life, My Burden. by Johel(m): 2:26pm On Jul 28, 2020 |
LordNicvuitton: Hi Romancelanders, don't know if it's right to share this topic here, but I'll do for now.
I'm Victory, from the East and currently a resident of Edo state. I came to this state, as an intern and thereafter, still served here and in the course of all these, I thought out and established a laundry business, which is just about 8 months old. This was to keep life going and to better bond well with the lady in my life currently.
While in Edo state, having rounded my internship & kickstarting service sometime around 2017, I met this Kiki Osemudiamen (Name changed), and it was nothing serious at 1st, cos I never really thought I'd date someone here, fact is that I never thought I'd stay beyond my service year. I met her while she was in 200l. We encouraged each other, she saw potentials and had faith in me just like I have so much faith in her. She is simplistic, encourages me to save and I in turn, encouraged her and guided her through some of her studies. She passed her 2nd MB.BS. and is currently awaiting lifting of the lockdown on schools, so she can start her clinicals.
Problem is that she came from a not buoyant family financially, and although both parents are alive, she struggles to survive/feed daily. Her dad supplies about 1000litres/trip water to households, while her mum sells at the local market. I on the other hand, came from a middle class family but my Dad is late since 2012, and I've been a sponsor of my education and that of my younger ones through the lil I inherited (which mum manages for now) plus my various endeavours. She depends on me for daily meals and other basic essentials, in fact I had to place her on salary in my laundry shop during this lockdown, so she plays the role of secretary in my shop too.
The latest challenge came about, yesterday. While she slept in the shop, I was out on errand, someone sneaked into the shop and stole her android phone with all of her e-medics textbooks (she reads mostly e-copies because she can't afford hardcopies), she has been crying all through and I really don't know what to do. Since I knew her, She'd been an appendage and an extra financial burden to me, I can't begin to list what I've done for her, although I kept reminding her never to not have entitlement mentality and she does appreciate. Out of desperation to ease her pain, I promised to sponsor her in getting a new phone. I have burdens, huge ones, I'm yet to acquire a diesel engine for my laundry (I use ponytail industrial iron which has higher voltage/current than normal ones), plus other related merchandise that I need to set up and I feel like she slows down my financial pace.
Honestly, I don't do all these for her, hoping for any personal gains, in the words of my daddy in the Lord, Prophet T.B. Joshua, He said and I quote: "We make a living by what we get and we make a life by what we give" but I am almost fed up and tired, especially when I remember that both her parents are still alive.. I am scared that that for the 1st time, I may fail her in that financial obligation because I honestly need money now, with the whole pandemic issue plus, I feel like she slows me down in life financially and a huge burden to me. Right now, she's so attached to me, more so that when I initially wanted to hault our relationship, it almost nearly affected her academics negatively. Please I need matured minds to help me think this through and garnish me with advice(s) because I almost feel so choked up and a rising urge to relocate from here, so i can breathe again.
NB: Advice from married couples and those in serious relationships, will be highly appreciated.
Modified: She went to her bank (First bank) this morning, only to be informed that about 20k (Her mum's business money) has been used to purchase recharge voucher. Her mum sends/receives money from distant customers through her account. Yesterday's scenario, all over again. Please folks, lock your SIM cards just as much as you lock your phones. Learn from this painful experience please. Hmmmm...this is a tough one,but do you know that girl will still leave you regardless of all you have done for her?,bro you can't kill yourself, don't go bankrupt trying to help a lady for that matter, your success should be your priority, try sit her down and discuss with her, make una reason well..Do not date a liability, just keep trying to assist her till you reach your limit but don't loose yourself in the process...I wish you well. |

Family › Re: How Guys Use Marriage To Plunge Themselves Into Perpetual Poverty. by Johel(m): 12:04pm On Jul 21, 2020 |
Poseidon000: Sup guys. I've something that have always earned the acme of my discountenance. And that's how men crudely jump into marriage in other to conform to societal dictate or for some selfish satisfaction. This have gotten me pensive and I'll make no ado in getting to the nucleus of the issue.
Yesterday, I was headed toward gwarimpa, and on my way I noticed a disheveled young guy around Efab estate trekking by the express. As a rule, I always give such guys 'lift,' because i was once with a female colleague in a lonely path that seldom have cars coming our way, suddenly one private car stopped and when I tried entering after my female colleague boarded, the SIMPson bounced me out and zoomed off with an empty back seat.
That incident birthed in me a sense of solidarity and understanding of what men go through just for being men, but yesterday, I was so incensed by a botch job my mechanic did that I drove past. After about 4 hours when I had everything sorted and was heading back, I saw the same guy heading toward my direction again(it's a dual carriage way) and he was sweating profusely, so I beckoned on him to enter. We got talking and I inquired why he's trekking such a long distance. He said: he went to look for a job that wasn't successful and he's going back to Arab road. But this is just a miniscule of the guy's travail. He grew up in abject poverty. In fact, they gave birth to him and his sister in an uncompleted building. His dad died in that building, his sister got pregnant for some riffraff and they started what we call "abuja marriage", his mom subsequently fell sick and died in the same uncompleted building. Then the owner of the building decided to complete it, and drove him away.
Now, this guy was able to get another uncompleted building to stay, and as I'm typing this, he's with wife and kids. This is a person that don't have food at home and can not afford N150 to and fro.
I gave him 10k but I was so mad with him; I mean, I was disconcertingly appalled that this guy will think of marriage in his privation. Why not be a little bit comfortable before considering marriage, instead to face life with the dignity of a breadline.
Sadly, this is the same mistake lot of guy's have been making thinking they'll fall into some stupendous money as soon as they marry, and this is mostly perpetuated by religious charlatans who say; a man's destiny is predicated on his future wife, that as soon as he gets married, the special blessing tied to marriage will start opening way for him.
That's a mendacious twaddle that will leave you in a precarious situation. Please guys, have 'comfort' afoot before you dabble into marriage.
What's your take on this? Lovely!. |

1) It drains your energy
2)It leaves you vulnerable to demonic possession
3) It can lead to marital issues in future
4) STIs
5) Peace of mind is lost
6) Honour is lost seeing its illegal
7) Regret and guilt.
8 Sin against God
If u are already in the net already, repent and God will show you mercy.
NB: Other sexual vices like masturbation, porn and the likes too are wrong. ''8'' is most relevant...it's a Devil's world, demons are everywhere and the wages of sin is death...the rest doesn't matter. |

But she doesnt reject drink or food each time i ask or offer to entertain her. Infact she now enters my kitchen freely.
How do I politely stop or reduce her almost everyday visitation? (because of food).
This pandemic is hitting me hard & its not getting funny. Without any personal interest, stylishly ask her for sex,I guess that will drive her away based on church things, buh if she insists, then you know she's clearly looking for a husband. And if she still tripping, then tell her the bitter truth,I believe it will bite her hence making her stay away.. |

He still looks like a teenager or someone in his early 20s
Anyway I don't believe this guy is 30.nigerian musicians are known to be pathological liars..he should be somewhere around 20-23 max! That's if he's not a teenager
Yes I understand that there are some men with small/short stature or baby face but their character, idiosyncrasies and attitudes will reveal they're adults or in their 30 but this guy's dressing, character, innate tendencies and everything about him looks like a teenager.
The other day Burna boy was saying he's 29 So does it now mean Wizkid is older than Burna.
The Burna I'm seeing will be in his late 30s and early 40s like 40-42.
Small time now Olamide will say he's celebrating his 17th birthday. Bro chill,WizKid is a very mature fellow, his style and all about him is close to perfection,he's like me,our age don't tell on us cos we take care of ourselves and live healthy, learn to appreciate human differences, everyone can't wear agbada, dress your dress let others dress theirs in peace....you should be more concerned about your growth, achievements and progress...WizKid is the best right now in african either you like it or not,....cheers to you and happy birthday to the legend ''STARBOY' '. |
Nairaland General › Re: 15 Things You Shouldn't Do In Public. by Johel(m): 1:50pm On Jul 16, 2020 |
Blackpearlous: I am certain that almost all of "us" reading this post will be guilty of one or two on this list("us"- I am included too), if you are not guilty lemme know in the comment section.
TALK LOUDLY ON THE PHONE This is so common in Nigeria, everyone is shouting in the vehicle about their business and family issues or something much more private, that public ears should have no share in it. If you are to receive a call in a loud place that would need you to shout, please stall till you get to a private place or ask to converse via texting.
GROOM YOURSELF Now I'm guilty in this, most of us tend to want to adjust something in public and it is seen as normal but it's actually embarrassing and shows we are not cultured. I was out recently and I had to apply a little bit of make up on my face before I alighted from the vehicle, it should be done in a bathroom or a private place. Some of us pick our nose in public, adjust our underwears in public(women!!!), I have seen someone cut his fingernails in a restaurant, are you serious? Stop brushing your teeth in the middle of the road please. Thank you.
EAT Guilt as charged, sometimes I will dump culture one side and eat in public, it's a weakness I'm working on, have you seen fresh corn on fire before, I will just weak. It's a work in progress but it's not cultured to eat in public, you should eat while sitting in private or in a restaurant and don't open your mouth while chewing please. Don't eat in public again. I'm changing!
COUGH UP PHLEGM LOUDLY I am rolling my eye now, you shouldn't do that, it's gross and makes others uncomfortable. Don't you know the sound makes the listener imagine your phlegm in their mouth too. Eww.
DISPOSING WASTE IMPROPERLY Stop disposing waste improperly, done with your gala? Keep it in your purse or pocket or wallet, don't drop it on the floor or throw it over the window, who trained you? ( Easy for me to say because I have change that about myself.)
Change diapers. I won't say more than, DON'T DO IT AGAIN.
Fight on the street Biko, be more cultured and control your anger. Don't even argue in public, you and your girl are having issues we don't want to know, argue at home. Don't fight a girl for taking your bf in public, you are embarrassing yourselves, if someine slaps you walk away, respect your self.
Changing your cloths or going naked. I see this new trend of exposing your butt in a supermarket or some other place and recording it, this is bad. Social media is the new public DON'T GO NAKED ON SOCIAL MEDIA, you are not cultured and you lack manners abeg. Don't change your cloths in public, you are not a baby that it will be cute to see your bum, it's not cute it's erotic and things like that are done In private. I'm done.
Sing. I used to think I had a wonderful voice so I sing while using my earpiece, that just wrong, I know it's sweet to do but please stop singing in public only if you are on stage.
Talk to yourself This is weird, internalize your thoughts, that's how human beings do.
Don't pee in public. GUYS!!! Have self control, get to a bathroom before you pee. Don't just go looking for one corner and expect people to pass casually. It's not proper to urinate in public ladies and gentlemen.
Pass gas. Fart geng, it is impolite to pass gas in public, it's not a competition we are not interested In smelling your colon. Excuse yourself and pass gas properly, if it happens by mistake, apologise and stop expecting people to suspect the least dressed.
Stare It is very rude to stare at people in public, only if your babe is coming and looking very attractive and you want her to feel it as she is coming towards you, if she is not your babe don't stare especially on a first date. Learn not to stare, even if you are a mother and want your child to know they there is problem when you get home.
Spitting. Only if you have been casted as a native doctor in a Nollywood movie, stop spitting in public it's a dirty attitude.
I know you are guilty of one or ten. Let me know which of "THEM" Not guilty of any atall. |

Health › Re: How I Overcame Marijuana Addiction (Weed) by Johel(m): 6:07pm On Jun 20, 2020 |
[ :-Xsup][/sup] ArisingStorm: Firstly, if you are a smoker, an advice : start eating as much fruits as you can till you overcome the addiction. Smoking is a fast way of killing the body cells, infact, very fast. All these post of smokers are liable to die young ain't a joke. Eat fruits and drink water adequately(I trust smokers, them no go believe ) .
I started smoking marijuana when I was in my Final year back in school (if I had started earlier, for me o, I don't think I can graduate). In the beginning, it was all fun, the journey was blissful, no problems, just a young man enjoying his life on a lowkey. I was introduced by my friends of course, they introduced me like joke like joke. Then I started smoking continuously like joke like joke. The feeling was good, like really good. I don't do all this Tramadol, Refnol and all other drugs (they are actually all the same thing). I always tell them (friends) it's chemical that weed is natural (God made it). I don't really like alcohol too (I always say they are damaging their liver). I can defend weed with my life. I will bring out health tips and benefits of weed. I was a brand ambassador of weed.
Mind you, if you see me, You wouldn't know I smoke marijuana, that's a trait of weed smokers (don't be deceived thinking all weed smokers have a thick voice or always look like thugs on the street). Very secretive because we know people will judge us and say stuffs like "haa your life don spoil, haa your life don finish (tho this is not true, The life is actually finishing gradually on a slope).
I smoked all through final year, I smoked even before going for final defense. Weed was like a best friend (didn't know it has turned to idol, that's always the end point). There are two types of weed smokers:
-the loners (they mostly like smoking alone), -the group smokers (they mostly like smoking with friends).
I was mostly a loner. After graduating, when at home, weed was starting to be of less effect on me, the thing does not do me anything again, so I climb the ladder. I started with SK, a higher level. At this point, been an educated smoker that cares about his health, I started getting worried because I personally knew I was damaging my lungs (all smokers knows this but choose to ignore).
I decided to buy a vape pen (its a device for smoking with less smoke). The original was 45k, the chinese brand was 15k. I bought chinese. I used it for a while. Then I realize this vape pen can blow anytime and I will just die. I just went back to my smoking of blunt (the normal paper weed = roasting of lungs). At this stage, I forget things easily, my decision making was poor, my financial management extremely poor, I started becoming an I don't care kinda person, I started getting dehydrated easily, my body system started changing because of the smoke, my productivity was getting low. It affected my finances, I am always broke, it affected my relationship, it affected my whole life.
Weed smokers always have supporting strikers (this are bad habits that the weed gives inspiration/ginger/vibes to do). It can be sex, masturbation (Pornography), gambling, playing games, wasting time doing nothing (scrolling social media/internet) etc. I was a gambler and self service personnel. Things wasn't going well, mind you, You won't be able to tell anybody, You will just hide it to yourself. Depression gang arrived (drugs always lead to depression in the end).
NOTE : The moment I started thinking of quitting weed smoking, that is when it was as if world war 7 just started in my life. If you are a smoker reading this, and you are still enjoying it, You won't have any problem, but the moment you start trying to quit, chaiii, its when the battle just start, just go and wear armor.
The struggling started, I will stop for three days, am back, I will stop for 1wk, I am back, there was this time I stopped for Six good months. I started praying then and getting serious with my spiritual life. I was already like, finally, I don escape. I don't know shaa, I find myself dere again, this time, it was crazy. I smoked SK till I started not feeling anything again. I then climbed the ladder to "loud". At this stage, I wasn't happy with my life personally, but I can't stop. I didn't give up, I wouldn't lie to you, I received grace from above to be able to overcome, sincerely. All praises to My Maker. Now, if you like, put weed in my front, I will just be looking at you.
Conclusion: Trust me, You gonna lose opportunities taking drugs because you would be too high to see opportunities. Mindset is all that matters. You will need to distance yourself from those friends. Weed will always make you feel like the world is crumbling and that you should not stress yourself and just smoke. It will make you take stupid risks. It will change your attitude. If you want, You can be religious and also an hypocrite but the truth is Don't decieve yourself, any addiction you have, face it, be fearless, and don't give up, You will overcome!!!. I will gladly answer any questions. Many are feeling the vibes of weed now, sincerely, they don't know that it is an institution. Parents check your kids because they will never tell you. I told my mum when I overcame by grace, she was just crying, I was just looking at her like, why is this woman crying.
Any Addiction you have on earth, Don't give up, You are not a Slave. Be Fearless!
Please know this as well, all those inspirations, thoughts, vibes that comes when high is from Demons/unclean spirit(I am 100% sure). If you want me to go Spiritual, I will gladly explain, just quote me.
Thank you. APTTMH. Stop blaming weed man, weed ain't for kids...i been smoking for years and nothing changed except the fact that I'm becoming a better person in life, better job, minding my business, focusing on what's important, taking charge of responsibilities nicely, understanding what life is all about and being humble and kind regardless of all the odds in today's society...what doesn't work for u might work for another.. Something must kill a man,be you a smoker or not...people abuse things and that's the problem,if you are wise and you down with weed, you bcom wiser, but if you dumb and you get down with weed, sorry is your case cos the dumbness will be first class...Smoke weed moderately, eat healthy,do your exercises, get good rest and sleep, drink lota water etc and you gon live like an immortal,I'm 30 and looking 23...so op,sorry your write up is trash...Thank you. |

Businext: Unless the country does not have NUC like Nigeria. If there are quack universities they ought to have been closed down. But do you know even in Nigeria there are quack universities? Some owned by big men or religious bodies, but not accredited in any course? If the university in Cotonou is standard and reputable then I commend the man for awarding scholarships. It's just a way of appreciating and reciprocating their honourary award. Why do you think some universities award such to popular people? It's to bring attention and investment to their citadels. I remember after Fashola was awarded in one federal institution, barely a week (call it coincidence or whatever) but the road right in front of the university was resurfaced and repaired. His visit probably brought his attention to the federal road which runs in front of the university and he helped as a Minister. Some of you may not know but in some private universities NDDC sent some beneficiaries there and paid their fees (exhorbitant). By so doing NDDC brought more students and paid, where private individuals might have found it hard to pay, NDDC paid and brought revenue to the school. Many more cases.
But my important questions are these- 1) why is FFK personal matter on his twitter now our business or for public knowledge? 2) why do trolls always think they have a say in people's personal lives and decisions? It's like if I decide to dye my hair all white then someone will tell me no that I'm not yet 60 like how is that your concern?
Trolls are not good critics or concerned citizens. A concerned citizen will say whatever for the common good, for edification and common sense, but never to be-little, degrade, castigate and pull him/her down

One day, I saw her with my friend and I later asked her why she is so close to my friend. She said they are dating each other, that she cannot marry me simply because I am tailor.
My friend is a yahoo boy, he doesn't have any work. The only way he eats is via internet scam. To be honest I was so pained, moreover she is not the only lady to have done this to me. Have met several ladies that told me that they can't marry a tailor and they end up dating yahoo Boys for my street.
They always tell me to leave my tailoring job and go hustle like my frnds to make cool money.
Guys, I am tired.. Should I leave the tailoring job and join my friends to do the yahoo stuff?
Girls keep rejecting me up and down and I am fed up.
Pls advise me[/quote] |
