Federal Government has declared Monday, May 2nd and Tuesday, May 3rd 2022 as public holidays to mark this year’s Workers Day and EIdul-Fitr celebrations respectively.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement signed by Dr. M.L. Shuaib Belgore, Permanent Secretary, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.

The Minister congratulated workers across the country on this year’s celebration and commended workers for their hard work, diligence and sacrifice, noting that their efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the
country and the respect Nigeria now commands in the comity of nations.

According to the Minister;

“Labour is the very essence of humanity. We are alive because we work and only the dead is incapable of working”

Ogbeni Aregbesola enjoined workers to imbibe the culture of productivity, saying;

“The end of work is productivity. It is productivity that leads to satisfactory provision of goods and services and wealth creation. It is therefore the path to national and individual prosperity.”

He also urged workers to raise the bar of their trade in line with the President Muhammad Buhari-led administration’s drive to rev up the vehicle of governance and make all the people of Nigeria derive maximum benefit from the
nation.

Speaking further, the Minister congratulated all Muslims for the successful completion of the
holy month of Ramadan.

Ogbeni Aregbesola called on all Muslims to imbibe and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice and good neighbourliness, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).

Why trying to mislead someone??

So, I've been thinking about this for a longer while now, then I came across a similar discussion on a platform. Hence I feel like I should share it with you guys.

As we all know there are a whole lot of insecurities going on in Nigeria now, just that we mostly narrow it down to life insecurity alone, which I believe our present predicament is way beyond.

Amongst them are food insecurity, life insecurity, marriage insecurity, properties insecurity, job insecurity and the list goes on and on.

But my area of interest is that of a job insecurity. As we all know how scholars, most especially graduates struggles to meet the end needs as a result of an increasing unemployment index from time to time at the expense of the commoners, the less connected individuals and the likes.

However, I have seen a graduate earned as low as 7k to 10k. And they held on to the job since their are no forthcoming opportunities to subtitute with.

So, what responsibility would that ridiculous salary cater for in this present economy? Or for how long would the person keep suffering and enduring the chain of time with 7 to 10k?. These are the questions I keep asking myself.

So, without streching this write up too far, I would like to ask this:

I have asked my wife many times when is your brother going , she will tell me not to put mouth in her family matters..

It getting annoying. Okay I got him a job at a filing station only for him to turn it down, said that work is not good enough for him ..each time I got back from work is either I see him hangin pillow in between his legs sleeping or chatting on facebook with white women.
