I don’t think he has done anything to deserve getting a renewal, struggled against decent teams, refused to address areas of need in the squad I’m not keen on the NFF retaining him

He lost only one game. Where was the struggle? Friendlies?

So if you're a club owner you will sack a manager because of friendly matches?

What is Peseiro's pattern of play since he took charge? What are the improvements you have noticed personally. Note that, outside luck, those are what will determine if he will do well in a tournament or not .
TBH, this is a silly question. I'm surprised at the number of self appointed football analysts here who keep on repeating the question here.

Name one coach in this world with a single pattern of play? Name one? Football is dynamic and your opponent generally determines how you play.

Styles like possession, counter attack, free flow , formation/positional play have no single approach and often get changed or mixed into each other depending on game conditions. No football pattern is mutually exclusive from another.

That's why we have coaches. The job of a coach is to read the state of the game and adjust the tactics, coalesce, separate in a way that gives his team a better shot and getting results. If football is played like a chess pattern then there would not be much need for managers.

It's only when you have a super team like Mancity or Guardiola's Barcelona that you can afford to leave things at autopilot sometimes especially with easy games.

How does our discussion relates to ethnic propaganda. IPOBY/Obi supporters element wey dey disguise. Your assertion is that of a colonized mindset and an IPOBY elements. That same Quieroz was badly defeated by Equavoen at AFCON and sacked by the Egyptian FA. So what the fvck are you talking about. I have no time for Obi-idiots. I have never targeted any ethnic group on this app. Or when did IPOB and Obidoits become an ethnic group? That is why I said you no get sense.
I have fought for Bassey, Onyeka, Ndidi, Nwakali, Iheanacho, Oshimen and many more Nigerian players on this platform even when peeps from their tribe come for them. My post is to elevate Nigeria and Nigerians and dismantle any agent of chaos and colonized minds. If you have problem with that you can fvckk off! You misinterpreted the situation.. The matter on ground isn't about him getting sacked..His contract has expired,so technically,he can't be sacked ..It is about retaining him...
On what grounds should he be retained? Meeting AFCON qualification objectives? Abeg...

I know exactly what I'm saying. AFCON was always the objective in his contract. Per the contract signed in 2022, he will be sacked if he fails to win AFCON or left to NFF discretion. If he won, then NFF must renew his contract. AFCON per the old calendar, was meant to conclude this month, after which the contract will be reviewed. The end of his first contract was intentionally placed just after AFCON.

However, AFCON was shifted, and this changed everything. He can't possibly be sacked because he didn't fail to win it. It was shifted. He also technically did not merit a renewal so it brought about a controversy that I'm now saying it deserves to be renewed so he can retain a chance to achieve his objective.

None had success with an African team. That list is none of my business. The fact remains we have qualified coaches. We had coaches that qualified countries to world cup, won trophies both domestic and on the continent, so what that f..k are you on about. They won on their continent we have our own who have won on our continent too. My point is clear. You are mentally colonized. Simple. Qualifying Togo to a world cup is far more difficult than spending billions of dollars to win European trophies. Winning the CAF champions league and the Nations cup is same difficulty as what you listed there. Decolonize your mind young man! No civilization is greater than the order, it is only time and age that differs! Period!
I've always seen you as someone who is not brilliant at all. No offense, but your ethnic sentiments and how you use insults to get away from intellectually stimulating discussions are a proof.

Seeing all your irrelevant conclusions, I'm here wondering if you read and understood my comment at all.

That is why I said I like him and have supported him on this platform. However, saying our level of development is below the Portugese is inaccurate. Do they have more than a coaching license? We have Nigerian coaches all over the world with the highest coaching qualifications, so what are you talking about. We need to seriously decolonize our mindset of thinking any Oyinbo is better than us. Thank you!

To think that some white people are not better than you, even when they had better systems to develop themselves, is equally as stupid as thinking that every white person is better than you. Whenever you involve race in something it shouldn't be involved in, you make a mess of whatever that is. The Arabs are some of the most racist and culturally narcissists groups in the world. Yet they know too well how to avoid race where competence is needed. Their key investments are run by foreigners wherever they lack talent.

I'll be glad if you come up with any Nigerian coach more accomplished than these guys below.

1. **José Mourinho** (Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma)

2. **André Villas-Boas** (Porto, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Marseille)

3. **Nelo Vingada** (Benfica, Sporting CP, Porto, VfB Stuttgart, Al-Ahli)

4. **Bruno Lage** (Benfica, Wolverhampton Wanderers)

5. **Carlos Queiroz** (Real Madrid, Portugal national team, Colombia national team, Iran national team, Real Madrid, Sporting CP)

6. **Jorge Jesus** (Benfica, Sporting CP, Flamengo, Al-Nassr)

7. **Vitor Pereira** (Porto, Fenerbahçe, Shanghai SIPG, Al-Ahli)

8. **Rúben Amorim** (Sporting CP, Olympiacos)

9. **Paulo Fonseca** (Shakhtar Donetsk, Roma)

10. **Leonardo Jardim** (Monaco, Al Hilal)

This list is based on the number of trophies won by each coach, as well as their overall success in both domestic and European competitions. It is worth noting that this is a subjective list, and there are other Portuguese coaches who could be considered for inclusion.

Paserio has been relieved of his duty. NFF working on Amuneke to partner Finidi. Firreeeee!

As much as I like Paserio I do think Nigerians should be allowed to coach Nigerians. Portugal will never employ a Nigerian to coach their team why should we the most educated and intelligent people in the world be employing others to run our football.

Give a befitting environment to our coaches (Good salaries and allowances) and give them time!

Are we at the same level of development as Portugal? You make decisions based on reality not sentiment. Do you know how many quality coaches Portugal has?

And BTW, why are people even calling for the sack of Peseiro? He was brought in after the last AFCON and given an objective to win the next AFCON, he just qualified us with a game to go, with four wins and just a single loss. He has lots of support within the players.

On what criteria should he be sacked?

Before now they look down on our education system, but now that their kids have become lazy and leaving the traditional professions, they are now raiding our so called professionals that they had hitherto looked down upon and granting them special privileges to entice them.
The serious ones there just want to do IT stuff like youtube and run online stores leaving very few ready to become doctors, factory workers, engineers and co.

The lazy ones are now into drugs and other unproductive ventures.
Many people want to be doctors dude. It's just that the demand for doctors has risen suddenly due to a large aging population. Thus the best move is to quickly get doctors from developing countries. Training new doctors takes a long time.

It's getting messy in South Africa

An entirely different team was fielded to play Botswana.

The World Cup bound Bayana Bayana were not granted access to the stadium. The South African FA really called the player's bluff.

Irrespective of whatever side of the aisle you are, one thing is certain, football administrators do not respect female footballers. Happened in Spain, Italy, France, Jamaica, Canada, Nigeria and now South Africa.
Googled to see that they rejected a pitch cos they found it too local.

Is that really a strong reason to boycott?

Makes more sense to fly out from the US or UK:

Lagos to Brisbane - 27 hrs flight time
Los Angeles to Bribane - 16.5 hrs flight time
London to Brisbane - 21.5 hrs flight time

Lagos to Australia can't even be 27 hours unless you're just counting time spent in flight. I'm guessing 40hours at the very least. There will be one overnight layover at least due to the exotic nature of the route and about two layovers in total. Anything shorter than 40 hours is probably too expensive.

people like u are d cause of moral decadence we have in our society now cos u believe in mind your business without d implications

When naira marley was promoting no pant n no belt we told u same n u told us to mind our business, many people started noticing the effects when secondary school girls were caught with no pant n they call themselves “no pant girls” n many small boys no longer wear belts n they are packing trousers with their hand to everywhere

Go to any shopping mall n see girls wearing virtually pants n bra everywhere n nobody is saying anything all in d name of mind your business

So it is when people start walking naked that u will understand d level of moral decadence

U might not notice now but just pray u give birth to girls n u will understand that no matter how well u train them society must have impact on them

If girls can confidently wear pants n bra to malls now picture what will happen in d next 10 years

Moral decadence from a religious interpretation right?

Why not face the real moral decadence which can be seen in the selfish and bigoted attitude of Nigerians?

There's absolutely no way you can prove that a style of dressing is moral decadence without involving spirituality.

However, you are free to live how you're most comfortable with. Just don't suffocate those who chose the 'wrong' way. This world does not belong to anyone.

Happy sunday nairalanders.
I moved to a new area(Student area) and decided to attend a nearby church.

These are what I noticed.

-- I was the only one that used scarf.Even the choristers and the female ministers didn't use scarf.

--Almost all the female members are putting on trousers, ladies that put on gowns/skirt are not up to 20%.
I was even surprised that the two female ministers and the female choristers also put on trouser to climb the church alter.

--During prayer intersection,I noticed everybody were praying in tongues and it seems am the only person not filled with the holy spirit to speak in tongues.
Even when we were asked to pray on our offering, people still prayed in tongues.

And it just seems I'm odd among them or is it that am not modernized?
The only thing I value is character and empathy.

If you like dress seductively to church. I don't care.

Business / Re: Naira Now Undervalued After Float, Bank Of America Says by JohnBullMySon: 11:18am On Jun 30, 2023
DeLaRue:

It's laughable.

Every hour, Nigerians are monitoring Naira/USD rate even when they don't do any international trade.

Tailors, office workers, landlords, teachers, market men and women etc are discussing dollar rate every day.

Every time the value goes up by any amount, people's blood pressure rises enmass.

My sister has no business with the dollar, but anytime she calls, she will ask if I know that dollar is so and so

The slavish obsession with the dollar is contributing to making more people wanting to buy it, therefore destroying the naira.

People are just 'doing themselves '.

We are not Americans. Dollar is not our currency.

Why are we obsessed with this currency.

I don't think there's any country in the world where whole swathes of the population have deified another country 's currency.
What a dumb statement. Do you need to engage in international trade before it affects you? Once you have anything to do with imported goods. It will affect you. Your clothes are imported. Most of your food is imported. You may think you consume local food but the raw materials are imported. Do you know that Nigeria is one of the highest importers of palmoil? Yes, palm oil. We import about 80 percent of our palm oil consumption. Our fuel is imported. All vehicles are imported. Vehicle parts are imported. Steel is imported. Construction materials are imported. All industries in Nigeria heavily rely on importation in their value chain.

We trade with China but trade in dollars or yen, because our currency is the problem. China cannot afford to stockpile an unstable naira.

The exchange rate is not widening because USD is gaining but because Naira has lost value so Naira is losing not just to dollar but to GBP, EUR, YEN and other stable currencies. The result is a massive rise in cost of living without economic growth, meaning that less and less people will be able to afford their lifestyle and will be forced to adjust to a lower standard of life. And you're here saying that it doesn't affect you.
