jihday: He lost only one game. Where was the struggle? Friendlies? So if you're a club owner you will sack a manager because of friendly matches? |

Cecco90:TBH, this is a silly question. I'm surprised at the number of self appointed football analysts here who keep on repeating the question here. Name one coach in this world with a single pattern of play? Name one? Football is dynamic and your opponent generally determines how you play. Styles like possession, counter attack, free flow , formation/positional play have no single approach and often get changed or mixed into each other depending on game conditions. No football pattern is mutually exclusive from another. That's why we have coaches. The job of a coach is to read the state of the game and adjust the tactics, coalesce, separate in a way that gives his team a better shot and getting results. If football is played like a chess pattern then there would not be much need for managers. It's only when you have a super team like Mancity or Guardiola's Barcelona that you can afford to leave things at autopilot sometimes especially with easy games. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Danielnino00: I know exactly what I'm saying. AFCON was always the objective in his contract. Per the contract signed in 2022, he will be sacked if he fails to win AFCON or left to NFF discretion. If he won, then NFF must renew his contract. AFCON per the old calendar, was meant to conclude this month, after which the contract will be reviewed. The end of his first contract was intentionally placed just after AFCON. However, AFCON was shifted, and this changed everything. He can't possibly be sacked because he didn't fail to win it. It was shifted. He also technically did not merit a renewal so it brought about a controversy that I'm now saying it deserves to be renewed so he can retain a chance to achieve his objective. |

No offense, but your ethnic sentiments and how you use insults to get away from intellectually stimulating discussions are a proof. Marjoribanks:To think that some white people are not better than you, even when they had better systems to develop themselves, is equally as stupid as thinking that every white person is better than you. Whenever you involve race in something it shouldn't be involved in, you make a mess of whatever that is. The Arabs are some of the most racist and culturally narcissists groups in the world. Yet they know too well how to avoid race where competence is needed. Their key investments are run by foreigners wherever they lack talent. I'll be glad if you come up with any Nigerian coach more accomplished than these guys below. 1. **José Mourinho** (Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Roma) 2. **André Villas-Boas** (Porto, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Marseille) 3. **Nelo Vingada** (Benfica, Sporting CP, Porto, VfB Stuttgart, Al-Ahli) 4. **Bruno Lage** (Benfica, Wolverhampton Wanderers) 5. **Carlos Queiroz** (Real Madrid, Portugal national team, Colombia national team, Iran national team, Real Madrid, Sporting CP) 6. **Jorge Jesus** (Benfica, Sporting CP, Flamengo, Al-Nassr) 7. **Vitor Pereira** (Porto, Fenerbahçe, Shanghai SIPG, Al-Ahli) 8. **Rúben Amorim** (Sporting CP, Olympiacos) 9. **Paulo Fonseca** (Shakhtar Donetsk, Roma) 10. **Leonardo Jardim** (Monaco, Al Hilal) This list is based on the number of trophies won by each coach, as well as their overall success in both domestic and European competitions. It is worth noting that this is a subjective list, and there are other Portuguese coaches who could be considered for inclusion. 4 Likes |

Marjoribanks: Are we at the same level of development as Portugal? You make decisions based on reality not sentiment. Do you know how many quality coaches Portugal has? And BTW, why are people even calling for the sack of Peseiro? He was brought in after the last AFCON and given an objective to win the next AFCON, he just qualified us with a game to go, with four wins and just a single loss. He has lots of support within the players. On what criteria should he be sacked? 4 Likes 1 Share |

AkinDS:Lagos to Australia can't even be 27 hours unless you're just counting time spent in flight. I'm guessing 40hours at the very least. There will be one overnight layover at least due to the exotic nature of the route and about two layovers in total. Anything shorter than 40 hours is probably too expensive. |

Reality3080:Moral decadence from a religious interpretation right? Why not face the real moral decadence which can be seen in the selfish and bigoted attitude of Nigerians? There's absolutely no way you can prove that a style of dressing is moral decadence without involving spirituality. However, you are free to live how you're most comfortable with. Just don't suffocate those who chose the 'wrong' way. This world does not belong to anyone. 1 Like 1 Share |

BascoVanVeli:I know you tend to be very race conscious, that's why you like doing damage control for these guys. I believe we have enough qualified Nigerians who can manage our football excellently. However most of the guys at the NFF currently are clueless people that are there because of politics. They are deficient both in character and expertise. Don't you see what Eto'o is doing with FECAFOOT. When the right people are in control, it will be obvious. |

Business / Re: Naira Now Undervalued After Float, Bank Of America Says by JohnBullMySon: 11:18am On Jun 30, 2023 |
DeLaRue:What a dumb statement. Do you need to engage in international trade before it affects you? Once you have anything to do with imported goods. It will affect you. Your clothes are imported. Most of your food is imported. You may think you consume local food but the raw materials are imported. Do you know that Nigeria is one of the highest importers of palmoil? Yes, palm oil. We import about 80 percent of our palm oil consumption. Our fuel is imported. All vehicles are imported. Vehicle parts are imported. Steel is imported. Construction materials are imported. All industries in Nigeria heavily rely on importation in their value chain. We trade with China but trade in dollars or yen, because our currency is the problem. China cannot afford to stockpile an unstable naira. The exchange rate is not widening because USD is gaining but because Naira has lost value so Naira is losing not just to dollar but to GBP, EUR, YEN and other stable currencies. The result is a massive rise in cost of living without economic growth, meaning that less and less people will be able to afford their lifestyle and will be forced to adjust to a lower standard of life. And you're here saying that it doesn't affect you. 1 Like |
