Obiagelli:Seems we are thinking alike. Watch out for these two! |
JackBaueress1:So you know? I thought you were one of his ARDENT supporters? |
Ezenwammadu:They will cite crisis in APC as reason for them to decamp from APC to their new party and still retain their seats. Interesting! |
Reference:Those who joked about Fashola not being able to make even a councillor in Lagos had better watch out! |
Indifferent:And I pity Osinbajo. I hope what happens to uncooperative deputy governors in Nigeria does not befall him. He might have to choose between Tinubu and Buhari. Choose ye this day who you would serve - Tinubu or Buhari? Check what happened to Amosun's and Mimiko's former deputies. Will what Tinubu did to Bucknor happen to PYO? Tinubu was drafted by Afenifere to contest for governor and "given" Bucknor for deputy. Bucknor pledged allegiance to the Afenifere godfathers while Tinubu decided to be his own man. Eventually Tinubu showed Bucknor the way out. Tinubu and co drafted Buhari and dashed him PYO. If PYO continues to be loyal to Mr. Everybody, he might get the Bucknor treatment. Already, his major assignment so far has been visiting on behalf of the president. BTW Saraki will be cut to size before 2019! |
Emmayur:His father was majority leader not president. Joseph Wayas was president. |
zubby29:Very correct! The man who came second to Buhari at the APC primaries! The three strands of APC (CPC-Buhari, ACN-Tinubu, nPDP-Saraki) do dey show face! Kwankwaso went with Saraki- Governor's Forum/New PDP Ties. Will Amaechi go with Saraki? I think he will! If GEJ remains powerful in PDP, Saraki and his new PDP people will form a new party. Mark my words! The days of an overbearing Obasanjo are over! Tinubu is being checked! Buhari will have to confront both the Tinubu and Saraki groups if he does not politic (which is the CHANGE some voted for). Buhari will have to confront the same people who drafted him into the race to get rid of GEJ. He would not find it easy. I hope he has learnt from GEJ's errors of trusting and trying to pacify these people. Now, people will see what GEJ suffered in the hands of these people. As long as they all are not able to gang up against the masses, I am happy. I'm so loving this! PS I suspect a major fall out between Tinubu and Fashola. I will explain when the time comes. ![]() |
Change! |
![]() teebaxy:They will remain in Abuja until further notice. ![]() Jona, why? |
If this is true, let's hope they would not scale the fence again. |
orimahspence:You are quite right. If APC is to be fair, new PDP ought to produce the speaker. If Saraki loses, it will be interesting to see what Amaechi will do. If Saraki leaves APC, will Amaechi and other New PDP members leave APC? Amaechi has become invisible... |
A new political party is loading... If Saraki wins, he would stand against Buhari like he did against Jonathan. Of course, he would try to check Tinubu probably by leaving APC. If Saraki loses, he would definitely leave APC. I am not sure he woulkd go back to PDP especially if Jonathan becomes the navigator of PDP. The prospect of a Saraki senate presidency is somehow intruiging to me. With Saraki as an opposition force to Tinubu and/or Buhari, we would be saved the agony of a one party state (APC). Interesting! |
The new opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has thrown a last minute stunt to the 8th National Assembly leadership tussle at the early hour of Tuesday by endorsing Senator Bukola Saraki for Senate President and Hon Yakub Dogara as preferred candidate for the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Meanwhile, feelers have it that Senators loyal to Senator Lawan on their part after a meeting at about 8.30 p.m. Monday night, were said to have resolved to personally approach Saraki to keep the unity of the party and bury his ambition. The peace mission to Saraki was, however, yet to see Saraki as it was learnt that the Kwara political colossus had become incommunicado. However, Hon. Dogara’s camp was also banking on the House rules which provides for secret voting, a situation they claimed, yesterday, would allow their closest supporters to vote for him since the votes cannot be traced. Dogara’s momentum was, however, tempered by the decision of a Federal High Court in Abuja to remove Gbajabiamila’s name from the contest upon alleged infractions committed in the United States. The court rather asked that Gbajabiamila be put on notice for the case coming up on June 18. That decision nonetheless, the Dogara camp spread out word that they cannot afford to have a presiding officer who would be parading the court. With this new twist PDP has positioned itself as a formidable threat capable causing devastating damage for the new ruling party (APC), just as PDP availed it’s senators-elect and members-elect, to enter today’s contest as a united body, putting the minority body which commands 49 of the 108 senators-elect in a decisive position to determine the outcome. PDP governors and immediate former governors including some who have now entered the Senate were also rallying to present a united front in today’s historic National Assembly election. http://pearl.com.ng/2015/06/breaking-anxiety-as-pdp-endorses-saraki-as-preferred-senate-president-and-dogara-as-house-speaker/ |
I thought you guys were compalining about GEJ wearing dark colours? |

seunmsg:Since when did APC start respecting the decision of the majority? How many election results lost by APC were not contested? So the overall interest should supersede all personal ambitions now? Words on marble: "My personal ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" |
agabusta:I thought APC said Jimi Agbaje would be a learner and we should not vote someone who would learn on the job? |
bastien:No. Do you have a link? |
bastien:Gbam! |
Is it legal to patronise prostitutes? Why was the man not arrested for patronising a prostitute when he went to report at the police station? |
Wonderment! Does this put to rest the Ekiti-gate debacle? You know, the Obanikoro-Fayose election fiasco. |
I thought peeps were complaining about the dark colour of GEJ's attires? ![]() |
sexymoma:The most interesting thing to me is that nobody is bold enough to wake him up when he takes a nap (make the baba go slap them or sack them? ) :-) Not even the presidents of Equitorial Guinea and Gabon who sat beside him at the inauguration. The organisers did a good job not sitting him between two dignitaries. Now, that would have been a sight! |
Sveen:The pupils and their parents are "boat people." They live in houses built on stilts within thew vicinity of the school. The children are used to water transportation, |
OkikiOluwa1:Watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L95kciDCBfw Watch what happpens after Mugabe enters his car. It is obvious that SR was not out for an objective interview. SR would have ridiculed Mugabe no matter his response. The guy shouting at the end of the clip is Sowore the founder of SR. Obviously, this is not journalism! |
Double post |
Max24:Yes. That was Sowore! I don't recall him being on exile. I wonder how he and his team got a pass to the event. SR is not mainstream. I hope someone did not violate security procedures to get SR the pass. If that was the case then there is wahala! What if something untoward had happened to Mugabe? Who would be blamed? What this means is that any blogger with strong connections can get a pass to such a high profile event, similaly create s scene and report it on his/her blog to draw traffic not minding the embarassment or security risk it could cause$ I hope this does not repeat itself. As a matter of fact, this ought to be probed! |
Reference:Amother Gbam! Coldflares, Semitunde and Referencen have hit the nail on the head. When these northern ethnic jingoists want a post, they play the geo-political zone card. They would see nothing wrong in two people who are Hause or Fulani from NW/NC/NE occupying corresponding posts. I fear we would hear nothing about a national conference or restructuring of the polity under a PMB regime. Too bad! As for PMB's seeming inertia, time will tell. It is gradually becoming obvious that strange bedfellows came together to "capture" power solely for their personal interests. While it may cause some initial friction, I see it as an opportunity for our democracy to deepen if properly managed. |
coldFLARES1:Word! |
semitunde:Gbam!! |
