bros ,this election is more than a mere presidential election to apc .apc is fighting for its political survival,if they lose this presidential election ,they are dead. All these acts of apc only shows and denotes the desperation of apc. To apc this is a matter of do or die. They have lost their stronghold in the south west and gubernatorial defeat is starring at them in many south west states which they control. Lagos which used to be a comfortable place for apc is getting too hot as majority of lagosians have turned their hearts against them coupled with the fact that pdp has a popular candidate in lagos. Apc will do anything possible just to retain lagos and which is becoming very difficult. I have been telling ppl that apc have been beaten back to retreat within the last 4weeks. Whether ppl like it or not,gej has won over majority of south west politicians ,community leaders and traditional leaders .the game has simple changed and the hunter which used to be apc has now become the hunted .

Sometimes someone like u make me wonder if some Nigerians do think at all?? You called a campaign strategy and a step ahead of PDP to reach out to their Followers in the language they will understand better a act of Desperation ?? i have three Questions for you?? If you call this a desperation What will you call ur President sharing Dollars to different group? What will also call the Front Page advert that Fayose has been running to attack Buhari and the Sponsored Documentary that is been aired by AIT , The last question is do u Reside in Lagos because if u do will not make such statements that Lagos is becoming too difficult.

The same way this people lied and made us to believed that it was Buhari that Planned the coup against Shagari in 1983 whereas history made me to understand that Buhari was never part of the Plan neither was he with the coup Plotter , The name of the head of the Coup Plotter is Brigadier Ibrahim Bako but he was killed when he was trying to arrest Shagari so it was the officers who led the coup installed Major-General Muhammadu Buhari as Head of State. The history also made me to understand that Buhari was in Jos when the coup were been carried out.

WAR AGAINST INDISCIPLINE

Buhari and Idiagbon correctly identified corruption and indiscipline as the main constraints on Nigeria’s development. These twin evils have in the view of many, become a way of life for many Nigerians. For this reason, they launched a nationwide campaign called “War Against Indiscipline” (“WAI”). The WAI campaign was aimed at tackling the most anti-social Nigerian characteristics such as indiscipline, corruption, and lack of environmental sanitation. Nigerians learned and grudgingly accepted social behaviour that was the norm in other countries around the world. Queuing suddenly became all the rage in Nigeria! Buhari and Idiagbon understood that the undisciplined Nigerian psyche was not going to change by persuasion and that their WAI campaign had to backed by the threat of force. Although they had always cried out for a Government that would root out the rampant indiscipline in Nigeria, white collar workers were irked when they learned that the WAI campaign would lead to them being punished and that it would apply to them as well as the rest of “ordinary” Nigerians.

Corruption

There had been widespread allegations of corruption against many members of Shagari’s government. For this reason, military tribunals were set up to try ministers in Shagari’s administration that had been accused of embezzling public funds. These tribunals were chaired by military officers and had the power to impose massive prison sentences. The only right of appeal from the tribunals was to the SMC which was also exclusively comprised of military officers (and the Inspector-General of police). The military were effectively acting as prosecutor, judge and jury. Unsurprisingly the Nigerian Bar Association barred its member lawyers from participating in the tribunals. Undeterred, Buhari and Idiagbon pressed on with the tribunals and several prominent politicians were convicted of various corruption charges and given massive prison sentences ranging from twenty to over two hundred years. Given that most of the convicted were already over fifty years old, it was obvious that they would die in prison if they served the rest of their sentences. Among those convicted were prominent politicians such as Anthony Enahoro and Jim Nwobodo. The tribunals effectively put Nigeria’s political elite in jail.

Although the harsh sentences and nature of the tribunals were criticised, it is arguable that Nigeria needed these Nuremberg style trials in order to free itself from its corrupt past. The era of Buhari and Idiagbon was the first, and only time that Nigerian public officials were tried, and held accountable for their actions in office. The trials would have had more legitimacy if they had been held in civilian courts, presided over by civilian legal officers, and open to the public. This way Nigerians would have seen justice in action and had a chance to scrutinise the actions of their leaders who had so badly let them down and misused their resources. By virtue of their centrally regimented military training and outlook, Idiagbon and Buhari were fundamentally unable to grasp the niceties of, and the political legitimacy they could have derived from holding fair and open trials. The public fully backed their assault on the corrupt elite, if not their methods. The trials and WAI campaign also had a psychological impact on other “don’t know how he got rich” individuals in Nigeria. For the first time in Nigeria’s history it became unwise for those with ill gotten to flaunt their wealth – for fear of attracting the attention of Buhari’s anti-corruption drive.

INEC never refused millions their PVC, it was millions that ignored going to collect their PVC, I am part of those millions, I only collected my PVC after the extension and it was due to personal reasons I delayed it. I still saw thousands of PVC yet uncollected when I collected mine. So INEC is not totally culpable in that regard. Anyways that is a matter that has been put to rest, we now have about 80-90% PVC collection and asuch that is no longer an issue. But despite this number of collected PVCs, PDP & GEJ still want to scuttle the use of PVCs, that is what the whole removal of JEGA is about, the man is resolute about the use of PVC, and PDP would rather we use the TVC, for obvious reasons. We need to stop fooling ourselves, JEGA has no means whatsoever to rig out a President, the power He has is to put instruments in place that makes rigging more difficult or obvious (as in the case with the PVC).

How many Register Voters are in Bayelsa that APC are still Decamping to PDP , There is 600 Register Voters from there and Only 400 + has collected their Voters Card so let the whole 600 VOTERS from there vote for Jonathan , That is still not enough votes for him not to retuer to Otuoke.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan, since assumption of office in 2011, never responded to the needs of Lagos residents, saying, “at our time of needs, he did not respond to our pleas.”

Meantime, the Independent national Electoral Commission, INEC, will today commence distribution of Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC in the polling units across the state.

Am not surprised Almost all the Comment are coming from Ibo Ppl , What do expect when Jonathan has Added Azikiwe to his name , They thought his an Ibo man never knew they were just been Deceived. I reside in IFAKO IJAIYE IN LAGOS , i can tell u that Jonathan will never get 10% from there.

Fashola spoke at the All Progressives Congress, APC Campaign rally at the Ifako-Ijaiye Mini-stadium, Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area, which also had in attendance the party Governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode among other dignitaries.

The governor noted that the president remembered residents of Lagos few weeks ago when he visited the state and spent five days holding meetings and distributing different hard currencies to people.

According to him, “For four years, the President didn’t respond to the needs of residents of Lagos. This is not about where he comes from but it is about the quality of job that he had done for the residents of Lagos. The only time the President started working was few weeks to election.

“The president can come to Lagos because it is part of his constituency. “But we will not vote for him in the forthcoming election. This was because when we needed him, he didn’t come to our rescue.

“When the Muhammed Mohammed International Airport, MMIA Road failed, we didn’t see him. When Lagos Island began to experience flood and the flood was about to wipe out a whole estate, he didn’t come to Lagos. When I took him to Ibeju-Lekki where they were losing their lands, that day was the last I heard from the President. I wrote several letters to appeal to the President but he didn’t respond.
“All the infrastructure in Lagos were built by taxes paid by Lagos residents. He can come to Lagos 200 times, we will not vote for him.”

Fashola, however, appealed to residents to obtain their PVCs, saying no fewer than 1.4m were still uncollected.
He stressed that, “the PVC is very strategic if the people must have a say in the coming elections.”

Fashola said that another window of opportunity would open today (Friday, February 27) for residents without the PVCs to pick up their PVCs.

“INEC has returned the cards distribution to polling units. The collection exercise will run from today (Friday) till Sunday.”Fsashola said.

However, Ambode, in his address urged the electorate not to sell their PVCs, saying “We have heard that dollars are being distributed in exchange for PVC. I will say collect it, it is your money but don’t give them your cards. They are giving you dollars because they have destroyed Naira.

“They are now asking for another four years to further destroy the country, we are saying no to them. We are for change at the centre and continuity in Lagos.

“Our youths are not lazy but just lack opportunity to excel. That is what we are bringing to the state by continuity. We want progress, we want safe Nigeria, for the economy to get better.

We will work together and make Lagos work for all of us to be more prosperous. That is what APC represents. Those of you without PVC should go and get it, but never sell it,” Ambode urged residents again.
