tuege: Great talk, Engr Collins. I also thought in that direction too, possibly buying one of the mismanaged government companies and then run them indegenously thereby creating jobs for more people. Setting up a fabric or plastic factory wouldn't be a bad idea too I think a vibrant textile industry will really boost the local economy. Every fabric you see on the island is from China. Funny enough, some designs are owned by Nigerian importers who employ designers to come up with the designs then they head to China to print them. |

Sir wit all due respect, we know ur type nd dis thread was specifically created to warn Believers of ppl like u Well... If you say so cool. I take solace from the fact that Christ also challenged the man made doctrines and was considered the enemy of the church. |

If u don't believe in Christianity or religion as u call it, then y are u wasting ur time on this thread? U r entitled to ur worldview Lolzzz... Wake up and smell the coffee. Who is the church? Humanity or the synagogue your GOs are building? For your information Christ has been replaced by your GOs. That's why they are worshiping their seats. If you find nothing wrong with the way Christianity is practised in the present day then, I guess you're part of the problem.

salvation101: wen u think you are smarter than God you will still end up complaining.. The word is enough to change anyone's life if you follow it. Just obey. There are living examples, i am one... You're really a religious fanatic sorry to say. Nigeria is one of the poorest nations in the world in terms of per capital income and yet, we are the most religious. The issue at hand have nothing to do with me. When the word came to Pharaoh of Egypt about the impending economic crisis. He brought in Joseph to build storage and manage supplies throughout the draught period. No wonder Adeboye will have the audacity to say he collects offering to remove poverty from people. And nobody from the congregation could ask if that is the way China moved millions out of the poverty line. Blind Christians. It's not enough to be in Church shouting Hallelujah. We have to understand how things work and make a sound policy that will impact humanity positively. |

salvation101: the book of acts is a letter of luke to theophilus, how can u read d beginning of a letter and not read the other parts? Read chapter 6 and see how the loss of focus caused division in the church and d apostles decided that they would no more leave their main purpose and be distracted by welfarism The earlier apostles implemented welfarism agreed buh the current clergymen have implemented cut throat capitalist system. Every branch sends all the money it receives to the head quarters to fund the luxurious lifestyle of the GOs. No wonder pastors sent on mission end up converting the church to theirs. Let's look at what's important to God as Christians according to the scriptures. ◄ James 1:27 ► New International Version Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Christ emphasised inner temple (your inward being) as a place we should prepare to receive God. The clergyman you're defending are emphasising building synagogues and high temples to receive God so they can launder money. That is why Adeboye will dedicate a service to ask for money to build auditorium. |

BluntBoy: Such wisdom. God bless you, sir.
I told a pastor once that if only the Church can be more modest in her spending, our problems will start vanishing.
Why does a pastor need a private jet? Will he die if he doesn't own one. Definitely not.
Why does he need expensive clothes and shoes and cars?
Why does he need expensive church buildings?
If they can be more modest, they will not need to collect a tithe or huge donations all the time.
If a pastor can fly in a commercial plane, live in a modest bungalow, dress modestly, emphasize building good Christians with scruples rather than building world-class church buildings and stadia, and encourage people to give to the poor rather than to him, people will start helping. There will be wealth redistribution. People will be less greedy and there would be no needy person in the Church, a result that would reflect in the society.
It is so sad that Christians are becoming more materialistic than the "people of the world". God bless you too sir. It's really sad that the doctrines of these pastors has left us in more misery. It has fuelled greed. Selfishness as against selflessness Christ preached about. It's all about me. As far as I can afford the good things of life, to hell with the next man. Humility is far from them. It's getting worse by the day. Growing up Christianity still had some virtues worthy of emulation. I remember in the village back then. Our Catholic priest will stop by on the way to church to pick up old people to church. |

Airforce52: So you want the Pastor to build the 11 million units of housing?? Ask yourself if the church is now the federal government. The expanse of the auditorium is simply to cater for the vast number of people to prevent stampeding and increase member comfort That was a statement of fact and it's to point out that the problem of the human race is practical. Manner is not going to fall from heaven. We have to know that resources are scarce and we have to manage it in a way to advance humanity. On every street there are more than 2 churches it's now a competition. When people layed offerings at the apostles feet according to Luke in the book of Acts 4:35 it was solely for the purpose of wealth redistribution. The apostles redistributed it among the needy. Why didn't the apostles at the time embark on elephant's project with the funds? We are now wiser than the early apostles. I'm sure there were federal and state governments at the time. If we are to go with the point you made then the apostles should have personalised the money then leaving the needy to their fate since they are not the government. We have to realise the current setup is not working. |
Christianity Etc › Re: God Himself Convinced Me Tithing Was Right - Pastor Adeboye by Johnrake69: 9:59am On Dec 03, 2017 |
feelgoodInc: how come Jews don't pay tithe?
considering that they have not paid tithe since the destruction of the temple in 70AD that is 70 years after the death of Christ. if the jews (the people following the Mosaic Law) are not paying tithe as the old testament suggest because the temple has not been built and their rabbi do not collect tithe then who does your pastor pay tithe to? does he pay tithe to God? how?
how come God need money before he can bless you or open your way for you? when tithe is not money in the first place. don't forget that Adeboye can't prove tithe with Bible. In our sinful nature do you think we can really do anything to deserve God's blessing? We strive by his grace. If you look into the lives of the Men God bestowed blessings upon blessings on. It was God that qualified them for a blessing they didn't quality themselves. God chose Jacob from birth, he changed the story of Jabez. |

ponziponzi: The christians have risen up to challenge false doctrine and it will get bigger. There is nothing anyone can do about it. Pastor Sunday Adelaja has started his own and other Christians will join. The era of false doctrine and foolish teaching that impoverished Nigerians is getting over. Deal with it brother! It's sad how some Christians has been brainwashed. The idea about giving in the Bible was majorly to aid wealth redistribution. Acts 4:35 comes to mind. |

itsandi: My problem is why 1 man can be flying different private jets while plenty children in their church cant go school Please ask @salvation101 How does the expansion of the auditorium improve the lives of people? Currently, Nigeria is in need of over 11million unit of housing to offset the housing deficit. So it makes sense to you that after attending church services in a cozy auditorium then many goes back to their their abode under the bridge. While the Go flies out of the Arena via private jet to his 5 star Palace. There was a reason Christ was born in a manger you know? |

People talking about Kingdom Principle. Please can I understand something? What's the kingdom principle all about? All the Men God blessed in the Bible didn't do anything to merit the level of favour God bestowed on them. David didn't do anything to deserve the level of blessing he got from God or Jabez that God granted his prayers or Jacob that God chose before he was born.
Romans 9:15 International Version For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
In our sinful nature we can't please or Impress God. We only strive through his grace.
Paul became one of the greatest apostles not because of the good he did. It was God's grace. Please let's not spread these exploitative doctrine.
Giving is a natural law. The reason the world richest men are not Christians yet they prosper. |

The church is big and continues to be influential because of the uprightness and integrity of its leaders. The world should learn selflessness and accountability and keep their long-throat in check. I would prefer not to go into the emboldened. Just so you know it's reported that the black church has received over $400billion in donations from 1980 to date. Please what has been impact on the life of an average black Man? I still maintain that the poor need empowerment.
