Focus: The Battle you can't Win

Every true wise man allows God to fight on his behalf. The most interesting part of life is that man cannot win all battle of life!!!

The only battle you can win without suffering much injury is the battle of love. Life is generally characterised by several battles. However, you must be very careful of the battle you fight; this is because not all battles are peculiar to your destiny.

A man is evil each time he plans, thinks and does evil to a fellow human being for whatever reason. We are bound to reap whatever we sow. Therefore, try as much as possible to do good to all men irrespective of their actions towards you or your people in the past.

In this present age, there are people who were in fierce battle on the account of the offence of some people they neither know nor have even seen. But reacting to venom passed unto them by evil men to disturb the future peace. If you are fighting such battle you are fighting a battle greater than your age.

David passed on similar venom unto his son Solomon. He nursed the evil done to him in his heart even at the point of death and sought vengeance (1King 2:5-9). Don't destroy your future, peace, blessing, friends and strength on the altar of bitterness as a result of the battle that is alien to your destiny.

Life is all about ups and downs, light and darkness, joy and sadness. In every situation, be mindful of the fact that life is what happens while you are planning other things. Be happy in the Lord in every situation even when the devil gives you an obvious reason to be sad.

You will see people going ahead of you in various aspect of life, to be happy you must keep moving with Joy if you must get to your destination as planned by God for you. Also, try and make people around you to be happy. Make effort to make your husband, wife, parent and children, students, church, clients, customers, boss, subjects happy; that's a way to surround your life with happiness.

I observed something during the new year, while some countries were jubilating at the reception of the new year some were still waiting for time; some for 6, 5, 4 hours and so on. That's the nature of the earth we are. Irrespective of how terrible your situation may appear to be, the fact still remains that there is a light after every tunnel. Be happy always; let the joy of the Lord be your strength.

The word of God makes it clear to us that even if your situation in business, marriage, career, academics, ministry or spiritual life appears like a dull ax with unsharpened edge; God can give you good success if you can add more effort.

The first part of Eccl 10:10 identifies typical limitations to success in various aspect of life, the second part signifies what men should do (add more effort) irrespective of the limitations they face in every bid to succeed while the third part speaks of the place of God (wisdom) in becoming successful; it is God that brings success (Ps 127:1-2).

Limitations and resistance is what we must always overcome to achieve success in life. All men who experienced breakthrough did something special and unusual to overcome their limitations for improved success. Seek God for wisdom and what you should do more for improvement and unusual success in every facet of life. Shift your attention away from those hurdles that become excuses for failure and do something special for improved success.

Focus: The Blessing of the Fathers

WORD FOR TODAY
The blessing of God, the Father of all fathers, comes naturally upon you each time you honour your father and your mother. If you must enjoy long life in prosperity, you must desire the blessing of the father!!!

"Honour your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise: "that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." (Ephesians 6:2-3 NKJV)

You must not proceed or engage in any new phase of life (Marriage, academics, business, ministry, carreer etc) without receiving the blessing of the father. Father in this context represents your biological, career, academic, spiritual fathers or any one who act in the capacity of a father to you. The fact is that, your life is a product of the sacrifices of men; whom you will forever be indebted to. You must always provoke their blessings.

You must never stand in the place of God to judge your fathers even when it appears as if they are not responsible or based on the fact that they neglected you. Your responsibility is to honour them irrespective of their short comings. A man who decline to honour his parents will not enjoy the blessing attached to doing so and will not be entitled to enjoy such when he/she becomes a parent.

Esau valued this blessing and sought it with tears. The blessing of Jacob over his sons shaped their destinies (Gen 49). Don't be beclouded by whatever blessing you think you may be enjoying at the moment, desire the blessing of your father. The fact that God gave you as a gift to your parent makes their blessing critical to your life and needed to connect you to heavenly blessings!

Indiscipline is an attribute that keeps a man away from the plan and presence of God. The evil one is rest assured over the lives of men who exhibit indiscipline. If we can look critically at every troubles of life cause by the attitude of men you will discover that they all have root in indiscipline.

Achan was not the only one who saw the accused things but he was the one that took it. Samson was not the only who saw beautiful women of the Philistine but he rooted for them. Gehazi like Elisha saw the gift Naaman brought but he went for it. The wife of Portipher was very attractive to Joseph; yet he will not sleep with her on the platter of gold because it is a sin against God. The Kings meal was special and desirable to eyes but Daniel and His 3 friends will not defile themselve.

The issues with indiscipline is that; it affect the destiny of a man and places indelible negative mark to his life. In the presence of indiscipline your marriage, career, ministry, academics and other aspect of life is tending towards failure. Every investment over a man who is not discipline is a waste. Be humble enough to submit yourself to various process and principle God is exposing your life to either physically or spiritually!

King David towards the end of his life came to a critical junction where he must decide between three options. By the virtue of his experience and his walk with God in life, he decided to be at the mercy of God. You also will not but come at various junction of choice in every facet of life; if you must be on the safe hands you must decide to be on the Lord's side.

The evil one is very aware of this very fact and will also make provision at every junction of choice. When this time comes be mindful of the fact that you are only safe at the bossom of the Lord. Be careful to live according to the will of God and live to please Him in whatever you do.

The fact that men will be available to provide help at various junction of life does not change the fact that safe hands are found in the Lord. Do not forget that woe is the man who puts his trust in men, position of authority, riches and material possessions of life. Be at the mercy of God in every facet of life!

We are alive today because the Lord chooses not to withhold His mercy and compassion over us. He did this to give us yet another opportunity to become better in every facet of life. There is something new the Lord wants to do in your life this season.

I want to put it to you that if God were to consider your deeds and your attitude to His will, you may not likely make it to this day because the devil your accuser would have sealed an evil verdict over your life. At this very point in time, if you must think, you must start thinking in the new direction of God's expectation for your life.

The signs of the time demands that you repent from your evil ways and turn to God in absolute repentance. It demands that you humble yourself to work and walk to please God. It demands that you forget your past hardship, challenges, adversity, sickness, dissapointment, lack and hopelessness because the Lord will do a new thing (Isa 43:18-19). Cooperate with God as you go into the year and you will have a new experience.

If you are reading this; the Lord has been gracious to you. It is a pity that there are many who have wonderful prospect and aspiration who are no more today. We are alive today not because we have strength, wisdom or we are careful enough to pass through evils associated with each day but the Lord in His mercy choses to stand by us and keep us safe.

When we don't even know the enemies that presented themselves as friends to get involved into our affairs, the Lord still kept us safe. We have no idea if there are even some people who embark on special journey to do us evil because the Lord put their counsel and enterprise to nothing. Despite every situations that appears inform of hardship, challenges, adversity, sickness, dissapointment, lack, hopelessness the Lord made us all to scale through. Only God can do this; if not Him, who else?

You may have not achieved what you think you might have achieved by now; the fact that you have life is an assurance that you will achieve even more. Can you pause what you are doing and appreciate God. Irrespective of what has happened and what will happen God remains God; and He needs no man to be the God He is.

Life is life because it can be so unpredictable. In the mathematics of life 1+1 will not be always 2. Therefore, a good man will approach things in life with sense of love and humility. Do not underestimate the plan of God over his people even when they appear incapacitated.

Portiphar could not believe that Joseph would become the Prime Minister of Egypt when he was a slave in his house. His brothers could not believe what they saw when he made himself known to them. No matter how rich and famous you think you are; life can make you to become the shadow of what you were, and at the same time you can grow and increase bountifully.

Irrespective of your status at present know that you are a man of the future. Respect, love and honour men at your disposal because there is a measure of God in them. Those who look down on people God brought their ways ended up falling from grace. Be mindful that you will only scale through various hurdles of life if God is still having your back.

You have every right to be happy and also to make others happy. Most of our experience in life is meant to teach us the real nature of life for our definition. No man can define what life is beyond his experience.

You cannot understand hunger like the man who is not fasting but stayed several days without food. There are people without good shelter, clothes, health and other basic things of life. Nevertheless, there are people who built houses which are empty with no one living there; those who have big boxes of plenty clothes they can't even wear for years and people who waste several resources that most people earnestly desire.

Your impact in the lives of men is a major factor that determines your fulfillment in life. There is nothing good for a man like using his existence to be a blessing. No man will ever forget the man who fed him while hungry, the man that assisted in meeting critical needs, the man who helped him to secure a good Job or connect him to greatness, way of prosperity, salvation or gave useful advice that led him to having breakthrough in various aspect of life.

Be an extended hand of the almighty God to be a blessing to people in a time like this. Be a channel through which God will answer the earnest prayers of His people.

The institution called marriage was instituted by God Himself; it was His sole idea. Hence, every man who is truly wise will involve God and wait upon Him at the junction of marital choice. The fact that there is time for everything establishes the fact that there is time to love.

Do not awaken love or take a step to initiate a marital relationship at a time when both God and His people will not justify such act. Sometimes, it is not even the function of age, financial capability, achievements and other common criteria but a function of God's will and His approval; when it will be said of you that: it is not good for you to be alone.

Love will be real and true to fulfill its essence in every marital affair when it is initiated at the right time. Even when it appears as if you have limited physical resources and the time is ripe for you under God, do not hesitate to initiate love; by faith God will see you through.

Be mindful of the fact that marriage is honourable among all, and the bed undefiled and that God will judge fornicators and adulterers (Heb.13.4). Patiently wait upon the Lord for the right partner at the right time.

What we do for a living gives us the best platform to meet people and render services that meet their needs. Hence, the Lord is expecting us to use what we do and what we have to affect lives. Despite the fact that we need money to cater for our needs through what we do, it must not always be about money; see yourself as a minister of God.

The car of a man suddenly broke down on a Monday morning while going to work, the Police instead of helping him out of the problem chained the car and charged him for allowing his car to break down. There are some hospitals that will never perform any treatment on patients until they pay their bills no matter how critical the condition of such patient is. Be mindful of the fact that humanity comes first in whatever you do.

A doctor have been trying to treat one of his patients of a sickness but his effort yielded no positive result. He resolved to praying with the patient to seek God's intervention and succeeded. The lives of men and their future is entrusted into your hands; render your services to them as unto the Lord irrespective of your profession.

At the birth of Christ Jesus into the world; an impression which is significant to the entire human race was created. Despite the fact that people need Jesus to live successfully on earth and fulfill God's purpose; many will not create space for Him.

The only available space for Jesus was the manger. There was no room for Him in the inn. Many people are still living in or struggling with sin because there is no room for Him in their heart.

Creating room for Him has an eternal implication. Someday, every man will approach God to find room for themselves in eternity but they will find that there is no room for them because they created no space for Him. Allow the wisdom of God to rule in your heart. Many things that is taking our time are all passing away; we will be taking a great risk if we fail to give the saviour of our soul the required space in our lives.

With His birth at the manger He passed the first message of the fact that He is humble and lowly in heart to the entire human race.

You will surely be what the Lord wants you to be irrespective of the experience you have had so far in life. You have to submit your entire life to Jesus and allow Him to live His life in you to work out His good pleasure in your life.

The most important duty you have in every thing you do is to reverence God by doing His will alone. It is an established fact that 25th of December was not the exact date Jesus Christ was born and that it was a day some set of people celebrate their gods. This is never an issue. 25th was just like any other day widely accepted to celebrate the fact that Christ was born.

Look at the entire world, there is no celebration like Christmas; this is because the entire world was programmed around Him and about Him. The awareness of His birth is critical to our message to the world. Celebrate Jesus by accepting Him into your life and allowing Him to live His life in you. It is not only about eating and drinking but a time to reflect about the essence of His coming.

This is a season of Repentance, Restitution, Joy, Love, Peace, Hope, Happiness and gladness.

Whatever your experience might have been, looking back through the years the fact still remains that the thought of the Lord over your life is for your good aiming towards an expected end. This is the confidence you need if you must fulfill your course in the land of the living.

Many times we may be tempted with respect to some situation in our lives to say God is not fair. The worst is most likely to happen to us when we make comparison with what is happening in the lives of those around us. Whatever the case might have been with you be sure of the fact that everything is working out for your good in fulfillment of God's purpose in your life.

King Solomon when live his prime age to act contrary to God's will. Afterwards, he came to an important conclusion after exploiting the best things that life offers in his own time that everything is meaningless without God and that the principal duty of a man is to fear God and live by His principles (Eccl 12). He also admonishes us to remember the Creator in the days of our youth.

There is more to life than all life's achievement. The way you lived on earth defines your blessedness in the heart of men and in eternity.
Give your existence a meaning by living to please God at all cost. Allow God to fulfill His purpose and do His good pleasure through your life.

There was famine during the days of King David because King Saul failed to honour the promises made to the Gibeonites. God did not over look what King Saul did and He made the Israelites pay dearly even when King Saul was no more. In like manner, God will not over look any promise you break for whatever reason.

God remains the invisible witness in every case that has to do with agreement and promises. Most of the time promises make people in relationship to lose or release their security; secrets are revealed and great sacrifices are usually involved. Honour every promise made be it in business, engagement and any form of relationship. Honour your marital vows.

Each time you break promises for whatever reason you must offer the sacrifice of atonement by fulfilling the promises or making an appeal (pleading) to the party involved. In making promises ensure that you count the cost and make up your mind to fulfill them come what may. Keep reminding yourself the aspect of your own commitment to the promises.

There is no basis for comparison in destiny. The truth is that not all men have access to the same level of wisdom, resources, calibre of people, mercy and favour. There are people who will do more than what you are doing or achieve if they were given the grace you enjoyed so far in life.

Don't invest your life, time or the resources in aiming to achieve something better than someone; you may end up becoming disappointed but rather try to get just the best for yourself based on the measure of grace made available for you. Keep focus on your track in destiny and run with patient the race set before you. Thank God for what He has done for you and hope for the best.

Gehazi became leprous, Achan died untimely and King Saul lost out in the purpose of God for his life. These happened to these men due to their quest to achieve something for themselves.

It is only a matter of time; you will also come to point in the jouney of destiny where only what will matter in your life is the blessing that comes from God. Allow God to bless you. This understanding made Him live successfully among the likes of Judas, Pharisees and other wicked men. Any man (your intimate friend, household members, neighbours, family members, church member, colleague at work or even some so called men of God) can be an instrument in the hands of the evil ones; if they submit themselves to be used by the devil.

We have seen men who entrusted their entire lives in the hand of their friends or close associate thinking that they would have their back when life situation tends to pull them down like the force of gravity but failed to do so at that critical point.

Don't be careless with your life, be filled with the Holy Spirit so as to be able to discern the man who is in charge in the lives of the men you are dealing with. The level of your relationship with men must not be based on common physical interest alone but through the leading of the Holy Spirit.

✴️Honour the exclusiveness of your marriage: Whatever threatens, reduce and lower the pace and atmosphere of your marriage dishonours it.

Your pace in life and what your life will turn out to be depend on your sacrifices. Solomon's journey to significance began the day He gave bountifully to God at the inception of his reign.

The value of what you give God will always be in the proportion of what God gave you. A man who has $200000 and gives God $2000 actually gave something but what did it cost him? Whatever you do becomes sacrifice if and only if it costs you something. God needs your time, money, expertise and material possessions to execute His divine plans on earth.

All men who became something for God and shook their generation positively were those who made unique sacrifices. The likes of Abraham, David, Joseph, Daniel and Apostle Paul didn't become who they were in destiny without sacrificing something.

Every dreamer must bear it in mind that unique sacrifice is required to bring dreams to reality in the land of the living. You don't become something by doing nothing. One thing you must never fail to do as you go on in life is that you must never fail in paying the price required for the fulfillment of your mandate as required by God and your calling.

1. There are cloud of witnesses around you. Whatever you may be passing through in your pilgrimage is not new; it is a typical experience of a man in the journey of destiny. Several men have terrible experiences of life more than you do yet they did not fail God.

2. Lay aside every weight of sin: Sin is factor which hindered several men from getting to the peak of God's plan for their lives. The likes of Achan, Gehazi, Samson are typical examples. Abraham did not lay hold on God's promises until he walked before God in perfection. The presence of sin in the life of a man limits how far he can go in God's plan for him.

3. Run the race set before you: Your destiny is unique. Don't engage in frantic race of comparison with other men. Run your race based on the measure of grace given to you to fulfill your peculiar mandate in the journey of destiny.

All men who manifested the glory of God in their pilgrimage paid a price.
We can see this in the life of our Lord Jesus who is the author of our salvation; He endured the cross and bore the shame before He was glorified to be the Lord. Your case will not be an exception. There is a price you must pay to be who God wants you to be.

The evil one tries as much as possible to ensure that men do not attained the height and the glory God wants them to attain. He presents vain glory to them and deceives them that there is no need to pay the price of endurance and bearing the shame of the cross. Hence, many people settle for less than what God have for them.

The glory of the Lord would have not been attached to the life of the likes of Joseph, 3 Hebrews and Daniel; If Joseph had yielded to the advances of Portiphar's wife; If the 3 Hebrews had bowed to the golden image and If Daniel had refused to pray to the most High God when he was told not to. They all paid the price of standing in God's will and God stood by them to bring His word to pass for the glory of His name.

You may not know in details the lapses in your life until you come to commit your life in absolute unclothedness to another for close examination and criticism. The purpose of this is to ensure adequate covering of various lapses and for the other person to serve as compliment to your life.
