Thank you bro ! When it comes God they insist that his existence should be explained using science , though limited , whereas they propound ridiculous theories with no basis for scientific explanation .
sharrap it's like you guys don't have the slightest clue on how high of a pedestal you have put your version of The supreme being. Is it only a coincidence that he doesn't seem to be breaking the laws of nature upandan like he was doing back in Palestine when he was putting up a show for everybody who dared to challenge him

It becomes special pleading if it has been proven that everything that exists in whatever reality or realm requires a cause and I gave God as an exception because of my belief in Him . And my statement was "if something has a cause and a beginning it must have a creator" . God has no cause or a beginning so there was no special pleading anywhere .

The universe cannot be eternal - every observational data points to it having a beginning and a cause .

Gods in various religions are simply variants of The Supreme Being each creating different concepts of the Nature of This Being . So its One God , myriads of concepts in different religions. So which religion or theological/philosophical proposition portrays the true Nature of the Supreme Being - that's an entirely different argument .

The Deistic God ? You mean an Impersonal God ? An Impersonal God is another variant of the Supreme Being whereby an attribute of It called immanence is rejected by people who subscribe to it .

Plus it has to be a Supreme Being because It is a separate conscious entity . A separate conscious entity , the Supreme Being , can possess the mind , intelligence , power , knowledge which are required to create and design with a purpose .

Very good response .

@ jonbellion eyidaythedon

You have to understand the context "stones" was used

During the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem , he was hailed as a King and people praised God in loud voices for the miracles they had seen.

38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Then it verse 39 the Pharisees felt the noise was raucous and they asked Christ to tell his disciples to keep quiet .

vs 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

It could be that Christ was just expressing his dominion over all creation as God whom He is and that nothing can stop the praise even if it means causing stones to praise Him or it could be that the Gentiles , who were compared to stones , will cry out against the Pharisees .

40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

God is worshiped and praised because He only is worthy cool
I see
But does this justify the fact that we have to kiss his ass for all eternity when there have been other beings doing the ass kissing long before us and the people who refuse to kiss his ass would be thrown into an abyss of torment and eternal despair

The comments of a dying breed when the truth is laid bare before him.

Vitriolic expressions become a last resort. Its like when an internally vile man gets hit on the finger with a hammer he blurts out words like FVUCK, SHIIT, DAMN just to try and suppress the pain.

If your verbal rot would help you feel better then by all means rot away.
But the article is untrue na PewResearch centre says otherwise
It's true religious groups would increase. But atheists worldwide too would also increase the only difference is that cuz of the larger population religious groups would be more and it would cause a reduction in the athiest percentage worldwide but there would be more atheists than they were in 2016
Are you seeing how to not be bias?
Stop surfing conversepedia and other bias sites
And Islam would even dominate so iono know what your joy is about

Sooo lemme get this straight a loving just God would burn an unbeliever like myself for all eternity for something as trivial as a lack of belief in him and would burn people infinitely for finite transgressions and you don't see a problem with this atall? huh

Christianity Etc › Re: Foreign Religions: The Bane Of Nigeria Development by jonbellion(m): 6:25am On Nov 17, 2016
What you said is true but this religious people would never listen. It's like a coping mechanism for them. There's a thread that is talking about an alleged end time trumpet. It was a hoax by a popular YouTube but would they listen no
They'd rather go and be looking for miracles upandan from alleged "prophets of God"
Meanwhile in the real world other countries would have left planet earth and gone to colonise Europa Jupiter's moon or a planet in a distinct galaxy. This prophets would also follow them there using the money they have made from Nigerians. They would be left on earth to face the harsh conditions climate change has caused the would be detrimental to survival that they were indiffewnt to or was dismissed as a lie that plans to bring about the "new world order" But hey they've always wanted a rapture right wink

The way religion is going in this country is just counter common sense and it has got me thinking. If God has a host of angels in heaven, 24 elders, 4 terrifying beasts, Rev 5:11 even went further to record that And behold, i heard the voices of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands. With all this stupendeous figures why the hell will god need man to worship him. I am not a christian but to avoid been dogmatic i will compromise on my stand that God does not exist and take my arguement further as thus:
If God really created the earth and humans, then i don't think it was for us to worship him even Jesus says in Luke 19:40 that if the people should hold their peace, the stones will immediately cry out, so if God can even raise stones to worship him then the question remains, why would God need humans to worship him as Christians claim.
The only order God gave man is to take dominion of this planet earth and not serve him and as per that, it is only scientists that is really following Gods instructions.
lol he has a weird ego obviously. I mean worshipping him forever and ever??
Eventually somebody on this forum like naijadeyhia or kingEbukasblog would rebel and then all this nonsense would start all over again grin

When they can't deal with facts

Learn to comprehend before your insensate outbursts . My post was not addressed to any occupation , just atheists in general , and if indeed any atheist still remains one at old age , he/she falls within the 30 percent who won''t abjure their beliefs against God's existence .

13 percent of the word's population are atheists and only 10 percent are Europeans and less than 5 percent admit that they convinced atheists
Irreligion is not atheism . Even in the US , 32.5 percent of the adults don't believe in a personal God or are deists . Deists are irreligious .

More like you are ignorant and hate to admit it tongue
well basically diests are on the same camp with atheists and agnostics in the sense of not believing in a personal God
You people put your God on a very high pedestal
This is a God who parted the red sea
Brought down fire from heaven
Wrote on walls
Waked on water
Calmed storms
Replaced an ear
Flew to heaven
Carried someone on a chariot to heaven
Brought Zombieland to Palestine after his death
Fed 5000 people with bread and fish with leftovers
Brought bears out to maul youths
Turned the Nile to blood
Stopped the sun
Strangely had an Achilles heel for chariots undecided
Made someone super strong
Among other miscellaneous things
You did all this before without interrupting free will
Do it again... Na lie
But nowadays what we get are pastors clamping peoples hands together and claiming one hand was shorter than the other and TB Joshua claiming he replaced a kidney with prayer. Why he can replace a kidney and not grow a human hand back is beyond me
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and that is basically what can help Yahweh out
And btw be checking PewResearchCentre for all these and not conservepedia or any obviously bias website
Religious groups would grow faster and irreligious groups would reduce to 13% but by 2050 there'll be a 10% increase overall
Though there will be an increase in religious people due to population increase religiously unaffiliated people would also be higher than it was in 2016 due to more people so I honestly don't know what this thread is saying

God is eternal - this precludes infinite regress . I understand that God is eternal and incorporeal . Please show me how I committed special pleading undecided
everything requires a cause expect God. Cuz he's eternal. Well that's fine and dandy but why must it be God .. The universe has a beginning true but what if nature existed eternally in one form or another. This is basically special pleading for nature too. Not to mention you're basically arguing for the God you have in mind which is off point a non sequitor if I may add
Why must it be Yahweh? Why can't it be the diestic version of God
Why not Allah?

lol on the other hand christians tend to show bigotry towards people that don't share their beliefs. I personally have not called a christian "stupid" bcus of thier faith.on the other hand you saw christians calling atheists or agnostics "fools" and "agents of the devil" or "we worship science and Charles Darwin" they are thier happiest when they threaten people with thier imaginary hellfire You do realise that of all the religions in the world Christianity and Islam are the most intolerant in the sense that they always want to impose thier beliefs on others.
They want creationism taught in schools
They don't want gays to have rights
They are against abortion( even if it is to save a life)
The catholic church preached against the use of condoms
They basically want everything thier way
And when there are people fighting back you say they are anti- Christianity or anti- Islam
Lol no. Though I have anything against people going to church or anything the problem I have is when you want your religpud beliefs to mould our constitution. You have to learn that not everybody is a christian. And also debating is fun

Lol honestly if you want to disprove evolution

Follow the scientific method exactly, providing objective, verifiable evidence that withstands repeated peer review showing that all aspects of evolution currently supported by two centuries' worth of evidence are false.

Good luck with that.
Why do you want to "disprove" everything anyway

Am a follower of Christ not Judaism . Jesus being mentioned in the old testament does not mean Christians should follow Jewish tradition (Judaism )

So thread closed ?

Awww

You guys are lucky winner01 is not around - it would have been mortifying for you .
then tear off the old testament
Lol that's like 75% of the bible sooo I guess you guys would feel bad ur holy book would the smallest out of the three Abrahamic religions.
you guys special plead tremendously for this old testament anyway
Just neglect the ten commandments. Afterall they were also given to the Jews same with Deuteronomy laws
Don't shun gays
Jesus wasn't explicit about them
The golden rule is the new thing now right
Christianity is basically like a parasite to Judaism sucking off the parts they like while damaging Jewish culture in the process(after all the Jews reject jesus Christ cuz he claimed to be God plus he hardly fulfilled the messianic prophecies...... And he died)
Abeg when Jesus said I'm in my fathers house was he in the church or the synaguoage?
Lol
Islam is like a parasite to both the religions.
Of course if The Old Testament were really so irrelevant, one would wonder why you guys even bother including it at all in your holy book, especially when it makes up about 75% of the said holy book. Not to mention the holy book isn't quite specific on which parts of it you can happily ignore. Then there's that part about jesus saying until heaven and earth pass away not one drop of the law would be invalid
But that's none of my business

Agnosticism , theism , atheism , deism , panentheism whatever are all beliefs . Babies lack the ability to believe. to hold opinions etc

Atheism got redefined to lack of belief in God just to cozen people into thinking that religious indoctrination leads to belief in God therefore babies are atheists . One must be omniscient to make this declaration - There is no God - and since no human is that , its a belief that there are no gods . Same with the theological/philosophical propositions on God's existence

Its as simple as ABC . Atheists galls running around obfuscating simple terms because papa Richard told them to .
Agnostism references a knowledge claim
Atheism references a belief claim
A baby is as agnostic as a fish
And who is "papa Richard" undecided
Christianity Etc › Re: All Atheists, Fall In by jonbellion(m): 3:53pm On Nov 15, 2016
But babies don't believe in a God
And they are not claiming there is no God too
So basically by this definition babies are actually atheists
Agnostic atheists
