The grand opening of Hard Rock Café International’s Lagos branch was held a couple of days ago on Friday, the 11th of March, 2016.

The event was star-studded with an electric performance from Banky W and Shaydee while DJ Xclusive kept the party going with great music.

This is to confirm that there were twin Person-borne improvised explosive attack carried out by two female carriers in Ummarari village near Molai, outskirts of Maiduguri metropolis, Borno State, this morning. The first attack targeted a mosque, while the second blast about 50 metres away, a few minutes later.


Sadly, 22 people were killed and 18 others sustained various degrees of injuries.

Troops, security agents and care givers have been mobilized to scene, while the wounded have been evacuated to Molai General Hospital for treatment.


The troops, security agents and the Civilian JTF have secured the area and are combing the environment for possible clues.

While we commiserate with the families of the victims of this dastardly act, we wish to reassure the public that we would continue to rout the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists wherever they may be hiding. We will not rest on our oars until all those that masterminded this latest heinous and other similar crimes are apprehended and brought to justice.


Meanwhile, we implore the members of the public to be more security conscious, cooperate with the troops and security agencies. They should also please report any suspicious persons, objects or happenings to troops or security agencies at all times.

According to an online user who shared the news,a Dangote truck was involved in an accident that led to the death of a couple last night.The tragic incident happened at around 11pm last night at Abule-Egba bus stop in Lagos.

The truck allegedly had no reflectors and no brake lights, hence it was difficult for the oncoming cars to see the big vehicle. A saloon car rammed into the Dangote truck; the crash allegedly killed a couple who were in the car.

Late February, another of the company’s truck lost its brakes and crashed into shops in Enugu, killing at least five people.

Yesterday I broke the news that Peter Okoye of Psquare has finally moved on with his career as a SOLO artiste.

He’s said he doesn’t want his elder brother, Jude Okoye as their manager anymore and failure to amicably resolve the dispute has led him on to becoming a SOLO act.

He announced today that he has changed his management.Now known as addressed as Mr P, let’s introduce you to his new manager, Olatunde Micheals.

Olatunde has been a close friend of the Okoye brothers for a long time and he’s well known in the entertainment industry as well. Before taking up the full time job as Peter Okoye’s manager, he’s been with him for years. He’s currently the Managing Director of Playcenter Nigeria.

He once worked as Head of Channel,Soundcity in 2004. He’s also worked as a media and event consultant for the D'banj-led DKM media as well as Station Manager, Trace TV Nigeria.

Olatunde Micheals is a graduate of Public Relations and Advertising from Lagos State University.

President Muhammadu Buhari pledged Thursday in Abuja that he and other members of the African Union High-Level Consultative Committee on South Sudan will do their best to ensure that the peace agreement signed by the various political factions in the country is successfully implemented.

Speaking at an audience with South Sudan’s First Vice President, Dr Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, President Buhari assured him that Nigeria and the Committee will work with all stakeholders to overcome problems hindering the implementation of the seven-month old agreement.

“The situation must not deteriorate,” the President told the First Vice President who is a signatory to the peace agreement.

Expressing concern that compliance with the agreed ceasefire in South Sudan has not been total, President Buhari said that Nigeria will work in collaboration with other members of the African Union to achieve a speedy stabilisation of the situation. The President advised leaders of South Sudan not to allow ethnicity and corruption to gain a foothold in the new country.

“Ethnicity and corruption are a lethal combination. You have to deal with them otherwise instability will continue,” President Buhari warned after receiving a briefing from Dr. Riek Machar on the current state of affairs in South Sudan.

Also Thursday in Abuja, President Buhari received a Special envoy of the African Union Chairman, President Idris Deby-Itno.

The Special envoy, Mr Abubakar Saleh Chahaimi delivered a message from President Deby to President Buhari on the strengthening of bilateral relations between Nigeria and Chad, as well as the work of the African Union Consultative Committee on South Sudan.

Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Friday ordered the suspension of some teachers of Elo High School, Ayetoro Ekiti(Ido/Osi LGA of Ekiti State) who were caught in the farm engaging some students of the school in child labour. Mr Fayose gave the order after he had listened to the students narrate their ordeal in the hands of the teachers.

The governor said he acted after he got distress calls from some parents of the pupils of Elo High school that their wards were being used for child labor.

Six seminarians (Michael Nwafor, Emmanuel Okoli, Emeka Osisiuri, Joachim Erhimeyoma, Emmanuel Agbo and Emmanuel Adah), of St. Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom who died in a fatal crash at Ituku along Enugu-Port Harcourt express way on February 22, have been laid to rest. Requiem mass was held in their honour this morning at St. Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene. Internment follows at Blessed Michael Ghebre Community House, Abiakpo, Ntak Inyang in Akwa Ibom state.

May their souls rest in peace.

A woman on her way to work lost her life when a bus driver lost control and veered off the road to where she was standing.

According to a relative, Promise Nwagu who posted the incident on Facebook, “My uncle’s wife yesterday at Cele express mile 2oshodi express way Lagos was standing not even on the major road a bus lost brake and took away this poor woman’s life on her way to work. Living her poor Husband and 2 daughters”.

May her soul rest in peace,Amen.
