If one gets married after creating a profile in the express entry program to a man who also has a profile but both havent been given ITA. What is the implication....Can the man update his marital status and include the lady as his spouse OR both of them can just continue as singles....Thank you |

The joint love of Canada Express Entry is the beginning of marital happiness. jjohndoe83: So I've been in this court room since morning and I've been wasting away since. That's after driving from Lagos to Sagamu this morning only for the opposing lawyer to text me that he's sick so the case cannot go on. But I still have to wait to get a date. I will not get any compensation because the ground for absence is ill health . And I can't do my Listening practice? Double jeopardy!

The only thing I will add is that it will be best for you to complete the adoption process before you begin your application. So please start now. Youtook: Good morning everyone. May this week bring a harvest of good news to all of us. @ifeoma @topsma.men @joo2018 & everyone else, please, I need information on adoption. I have a 13 year old cousin whose mum passed & whose dad isn't exactly available. She currently lives with an aunt of ours & I wouldn't mind adopting her. 1) would it be possible? 2) what are the legal implications, if any? 3) would this affect our application or cause extra scrutiny? 4)when can I commence the adoption process? I'm pre-ITA. 5)what other options do I have? I'd deeply appreciate your responses. Thank you |

You become a permanent resident during landing, at a Port of Entry (airport or land border), when a CBSA officer signs your COPR, updates your IRCC profile and admits you to Canada. So the 730days starts counting from then. ladymarshall: @point 8, When does the 730 days start counting? Is it from the day we land at the airport or the date the PR card is issued or the date we get the Copr? |

Congrats on your IELTS. Your choice of NOC is not about your degree, but about your work experience. If your JD matches NOC 3114, then you can choose it. You can do the biometrics and medicals separately. sen2paco: Hello House,
Thank you all for your contributions and assistance. I just managed to pass IELTS after 3rd attempt. First trial with the CBT, found it better than paper based in my opinion. LRWS 8.5, 8.5. 7, 7 and with a provisional score of 456. Not yet in the pool as i want to get it right so as not to make terrible errors, I need help on the following:
- I got ECA done by WES for me and my partner. We both Veterinary graduates. Knowing that this profession requires licence to practice overseas, is it safe for us to choose this NOC 3114 (Veterinarian) or go for something related? Moreover the work experience is in the veterinary field.
Secondly, im currently in Australia and family in Nigeria, how do i go about Biometrics and medicals? i mean is it possible for me to do mine here and my family do theirs in Nigeria or do i have to come to Nigeria to do it together as a whole family unit?
Thank you in anticpation for your responses. |

1. Start now and apply as a family. 2. It can take 3-6 months or more to get your IELTS and ECA. 3. After ITA, wait close to the 2 months submission deadline before doing your medicals and then submit. 4. PPR can take another 2-8 months. Before you know it, 1yr is gone. 5. Do a soft landing close to the expiration of your medicals. Medicals are valid for 1yr. 6. At landing you become a PR. Spend a few weeks to enjoy your new home. You might change your mind. 7. If you still decide to come back to Nigeria, you can. Your family can remain in Canada. 8. You must stay in Canada for 2 out of 5yrs to retain your PR status. See here. Meaning you can stay in Nigeria for another 2-3yrs. 9. You can change your mind and stay permanently in Canada at any time. CnCstore: Good morning people of God,
I need your opinion again please, what if i am not ready to live fully in Canada until about the next 3years.
Do you think we should still apply as a family(family of 3)?is it possible that i come back in about a month after first entry and visit once in a while until i am done with my commitment in Nigeria?
Or we should apply as family(not accompanying)? Will it be easy to get in when i am ready |

The mysteries of Accra. With the 5 ADRs, you have basically applied afresh. I think it is either an opportunity for applicants to correct mistakes in the application, meaning the VO will only assess the ADRs or it is a trap, meaning the VO will compare your application with the ADRs and look for inconsistencies. All the best. EndInPraisess: Statement of account and fixed deposit certificate, i wonder why they have to request again. |

That JD is very rich. I think you qualify as a Senior Manager. I think it should be 0013. I think it is a major flaw that Canada's NOC 2016 does not have an NOC for entrepreneurs. Rather, as an entrepreneur you have to choose your NOC based on your technical background. All the best and may God grant you wisdom. xtosync: Hi there, So the anti climax of this long almost two years ordeal is ending with a refusal due to incorrect NOC code. I applied with NOC code 0213 - Computer and Information System Manager.
This is what I should have done two years back, but I honestly thought I was on the right course. I am sharing so that it serves as a lesson to others getting into the process. Seek all the advice and counsel you can especially wherever you have doubts, even if it make you look or sound like a slowpoke.
5, 6, 7 or more heads are better than 1 or 2.
This is not the testimony I was hoping to drop after a year and 6 months wait, but a lesson for one is a lesson for many. Never too late to do the right thing.
special thanks to Zutlin, Abubuyaya. You guys give me the courage to do this. |

And if it's not suggestions are most welcome. many thanks.

For Job 1, your JD has all of the words, "Supervising and directing", "Reviewed", "Managed", "Supervised", "evaluated". You even have "Supervised the customer service department." That's NOC level 0. I think it should be 0124. I think you are confusing the roles of managers NOC 0 and senior managers NOC 00. 55emem55: Please, with respect to choice of NOC, let me just share my duties so you guys can share more insights. Though I've settled for NOC 1123

"I can't get reference letter on letter head;I intend to get a senior colleague to write on my behalf": You can do that. If you do so, use plain paper, get it notarized and add the senior colleague's ID card. Including the statement of account is not mandatory. If you choose to add it, you might need to include a LOE to explain you were paid in arrears. successhungry: @Daisy.eze,ste.ncil,Influ.ential101 and other monikers I can't recall...thanks alot. I was able to sort it out following the advice you gave. Forgive me;I have other questions. My first year of work experience was gotten from ministry of defence as a civilian staff(housejob) where I worked for the first 8months without pay. The salaries were paid in arrears, 4months first, then 2-2-2-1-1 month(s). I can't get reference letter on letter head;I intend to get a senior colleague to write on my behalf. Can I use the statement of account as additional proof of paid employment ? Sadly,I don't have employment letter because there was a mistake in the salary scale ,the letters were sent back to abuja and was never returned to us after correction. Please, I need advice on what to do Thanks in anticipation |

The money should be yours not borrowed. It can be gifted to you and backed legally with a gift deed. Treasury bills are an acceptable proof of funds.
