I have seen people do that. But the surest option is the education route (I can't stress it enough: make sure you can support yourself for a while). Applying directly for a work visa would imply you have been offered a job (and as I have stated rarely happens to foreigners outside of Thailand). Unless Buhari decides to demolish the building tomorrow, the Thai embassy is still very much in Abuja (infact other west Africans come there to apply). Like I stated from the beginning of this forum, I just want to make this about my experience not about visa application and requirements.

I would say you are at an advantage when it comes to teaching jobs here but getting employment here while currently residing in Nigeria is extremely rare. I would suggest you apply for a visiting visa and look for opportunities here within the 3 months period, but you should have a mind of steel and that naija spirit.

As for budget it might be on the costly side of things given our economy in Nigeria but around 350k for flight, due to the Covid 19 pandemic you might have to self quarantine in a hotel for a period of 14 days ( that's an additional expenses), as regards apartment,you will have to sort yourself out on that, expect to spend nothing less than 50k a month. So all in all, I will say prepare anything up to 2 million naira in hand

OP, coming in with visit visa and look for job? Does countries still issue visit visas to Nigerians and what if the visa expires before getting a job.

Can't I just apply for a work visa to avoid story that touch. Secondly, There's this stigma of tagging Nigerians as criminals in Asian countries. Hope that is not rampant over there?

Secondly, I searched for the Thai Embassy, but I don't think it's still in operation. Do they have embassies here in West Africa?

Many schools will require a teaching certificate (but that also means your pay will be higher), but you can easily get jobs in some places with little to no experience teaching as long as you are able to show them what you can offer.

As for the pay it really depends on factors such as experience, qualifications, abilities, hardwork, kind of school.... But as a novice you can expect to start with something around 25,000 baht monthly (270000 naira). After sometime you can expect to earn up to 35000 to 40000 baht monthly (370000 to 420000 naira). Some good paying schools go from 50k baht to 70k baht ( but that's mostly for people considered native speakers of English). But pay overall depends on your ability to negotiate, if you are too eager to accept any offer you might end up being short changed.

I have learnt enough Thai to get by on a day to day basis. People here love when you take the effort to learn their language, it makes life a lot easier for you. I would say I'm about a year away from fluency.

Biggest cultural shock will be the ladyboy phenomenon (basically transexuals), coming from Nigeria that was a complete shock to me that there were a lot of them around here. But then again they are accepted by the society and everyone just try to get along without judging each other.

The standard of living is pretty decent, here you don't have to go to the extreme to live comfortably coupled with a low cost of living.
I usually suggest if you are going to live comfortably you will need to rent a room in a condominium as opposed to regular apartments( trust me this is the safest choice for Nigerians as it's offers privacy and security). An average condominium will cost up to 8500 baht monthly (around 90,000 naira) included with internet (unlimited) and electricity bills. If you are a student you have the option of living on campus at a very low cost but you will probably have to share space with a roommate.

Feeding for a single man who can cook well and occasionally eat outside shouldn't be more than 25,000 naira monthly... Infact food here is the cheapest I have seen in the world.
Things like transportation are relatively cheap if you know how to navigate around town with the sky train, underground train,meter taxis, and buses.

The major job opportunity as a Nigerian will be teaching jobs. Many Nigerians are into buying of different goods at a cheaper price in Thailand and selling it anywhere in the world. If you have professional experience, you might be lucky to be employed by multinational companies stationed in Thailand. And lest I forget, athletes are highly respected here, so if you are good at any sport chances are you are two times better than any local option available in the sport.

For the teaching jobs, do you know the requirements and how much they pay per hr/week.

If you mean student jobs, then i would recommend Germany. If you mean permanent employment after studies, I think both countries offer similar opportunities for business students.

France is a better place to live in. The People are more used to african immigrants, the language is less difficult to learn and more spoken worldwide. French people are more open, more social, more fun to be with. Germans are quite closed, strict and extra rigourous. The country is quite cold and the ladies more shy (in comparison to french ladies). Even the weather in germany is colder than that of France. A typical African is more likely to enjoy his social life in Germany than in France. Even the German dressing code is horrible. French on the other hand always look neat, polished and stylish, something they share with their italian neighbors.

Germany is better in terms of economic performance, leadership and science in general. A student of IT, robotics, and similar fields of study, may prefer to go to Germany, but that is not the case.

As it pertains to that issue, if you are honest with yourself and really followed the topic You would know that I never came with a bad intention and that nigga attacked me first, when I did not even address him.

As a side note with respect to your question:

- there are good opportunities for business students after a master in France especially in the ile de France Region. Anything from Supply chain, Human ressource, finance is well sought after

- Studies in France are now more expensive than it used to be because of a recent legislation. Still people find their way around this.

- if you have a master in France, you only need 1-2 years and a job to get citizenship. In Germany that would rather be 6–8 years among other conditions. France is very beneficial in that respect for immigrants.

-France as a country is more socialist compared to Germany that is there are tons of governmental help and amenities. however in Germany wages tend to be higher.

Btw, I speak German French English and Spanish fluently.

There is a Norwegian C, C+ , and C- ....also, any GPA from 3.3/5 is a Norwegian C... there is actually a way to convert it just like German - Nigerian GPA conversion.... I do not have the format though... hope this helps...

So a 2.2 candidate below 3.3 can't apply for MSc.

After Studies You have to leave the country, If you wish to stay before your studies end you can write Language and Russian history proficiency exams and apply for Residence that will allow you to stay in the country and work. But you can aswell work with your student visa while it's still valid. many Nigerian got smart and they have a residence here in Russia now.
As for the Tuition if it's expensive or not, is dependent on the course, the school, and the language of thought.

The Russian Governent have scholarship programmes, for Africans and CIS countries, you could be lucky to fall in the quota.

Every one of us would not deny that we haven’t read or heard one or 2 weird stories about Russia.

If not. At least, you must have heard the following that;

Russians are racists; they do not like black People.

Russian spits on black people on the streets
Russians kills black people or Africans in the streets of Moscow.

Russia is not a place for a black man to travel to; Especially Nigerians.

I get often asked 2 particular questions from most Nigerians about Russia;

“How is the racism there, I heard they’re racist?
The Good News is that I have been living in Russia for almost 3 years now and no one cares about my skin color.

Russians are very helpful people when you ask for help.

“Russia is too cold.” But little did they know that Canada is colder than Russia.

Though, before I moved to Russia I also had read and heard so many weird things about Russia and the advice was “if you’re African, dark skinned don’t go to Russia."

I almost forfeited my visa lol!

But, I took the hard decision, disregarding all I have read and took a shot at it.

When I got to Russia’s Domododevo airport in Moscow I was expecting to be sent back to Africa, Nigeria for being black.

Clearly, nobody cared about my very dark skin tone.

For those who looked only did in admiration and ask to take a photo with me.

My 3 years in Russia has been awesome, far from what I expected.

Recently, I went spending time in the Russian Dacha (Country House) in Nigeria we call village house.

My 90 day experience in the Russian dacha was awesome too.

People where friendly and often asked to take a photo with me.

Remember, you must learn how to understand Russian to be able to start a conversation. Or you can either make use of a Yandex or Google Translator.

Observations:
Many of the things we have read or heard about Russia, isn’t true.

The programme actually makes sense, free accommodation and charming stipend (no work is needed for the stipend), any extra work on campus attracts more stipends. Flight money is even covered

University of Potsdam is a prestigious university in Germany. Most students I know in Potsdam live around campus but work in Berlin.

Tbh, East Germany is still majorly underdeveloped and save for Berlin, it would probably be worse for not just foreigners but black students. However, you’ll find very accommodating people all around you.
