Poems For ReviewA Babe Is Born. (A Christmas Poem) by joseph1832(op):
In starry night
A pleasant sight,
A babe is born
A maiden young.

With sheep that stare
A sight so rare;
Silent applause
We all rejoice.

A king has come
To save the world,
A king so calm
His story 'told.

Rejoice christ is born.
Hallelujah we all sojourn.
Ave Maria we all adorn.
A maiden so gentle
We all embrace.

To answer your question have you asked yourself while some people remain in abusive relationship or why some girls will marry a well know thug? Have you asked yourself while some abused maid can't run away but still remain loyal to their employer if when the maid has the upper hand? Those are questions that baffles the ordinary mind but psychologists have a very not complex answer to that.
Exactly my point! Its entirely their choice! They weren't being forced or tied there are they? So when it all goes south they come out and sing chorus about it, I mean did someone hold a gun to their head forcing them to be in an abusive relationship/marriage?

In the case of maids bruv, some do run away from such things, others remain, its all a thing of choice bruv. Even Kunta Kinte never stopped running until his leg was chopped off.

So those who choose to be in an abusive relationship do so because its their choice, plain and simple. We live with the choices we make. That's life.

It is quite funny how on one hand you advise Seun not allow sentiment cloud his judgement and on the other you concluded that sugarbelly has been lying. What happened to you not having an opinion on it? What happened to you waiting for the accused (not the wife) to tell his own side of the story before reaching conclusion? Because from you stand point no matter what the accused have to say or no matter how plausible what the accused has to say is, she is guilty.

Funny bro, personally I know for a fact that the rich and politician in our country can do whatever they like and get away with it. I also know that a Nigerian that really want to accused false will do it and make it look good. So I am going to keep my judgement to myself until Audu's son tell his own side of the story fully not the purported email conversation or facebook conversation (I have seen bad relationship with pretty messed up things happening and the two ended it. After a while I letter saw an email conversation between these two reminiscing on the good times and from that you could think their relationship was the best. I also know for fact that at every point in time we human could choose to block out an experience and focus on others depending on which purpose it serves).

So my dear for now the smartest thing to do is to reserve judgement and let the stories flow in, and let them do back and forth on it first.
Well if I were Audu, I will never utter a word because doing so will only make things get out of hand. If the sugabelly was really sincere, she should have gone to the courts silently and seek redress there, rather than blow her trumpet all over social media.

If you believe I concluded the girl in question is lying, then read through the story and you'll find loop holes, that's where reason come into play. I act base on reason and logic.

You should ask yourself why a young, impulsive girl, who have seen reasons beyond reasons that the guy she's in love with doesn't really feel the same way about her, yet, she's still coming on strong on the brother.

Seun:
This story makes me sad because I dont know who to believe anymore. I can't judge it objectively because I'm sympathetic to Sugarbelly.
If Sugarbelly's accusations are real then there are other girls out there who can corroborate their story just like the case of Bill Cosby.
That's why you need to allow reason be your guide here. In cases like this, sentiment can cloud or judgment.

I believe the sugabelly of a girl is just trying to weep up sentiment. Its a thing synonymous with most Nigerian girls. I mean, from all I've read she was the one coming at the guy even when it was plain the guy isn't even in to her.

Its a standard Nigerian girl behavior, they go all out for a guy (whether married or not) almost, if not ready to kill for the guy, after the guy use and dump them, they come crying wolf!

You can imagine this same society scream when they see a single guy banging a married woman and act cool when they see a single girl banging a married man.

Devaluation caused huge confusion in the oil sector as the petroleum agency did not know the EXCHANGE RATE to be used for the importation of fuel. So please get your story stright! angry
Auntie Ngozi was talking to Nigerians and the press and they were fast at work solving the problem, unlike what is happening now.
Can you please listen to yourself dear? I'm now starting to believe that you'll do anything and say anything just to support the past administration.

Devaluation caused huge confusion in the oil sector, which devaluation, how can a whole petroleum agency not know the exchange rate huh Please your post above almost reek of nonsense.

So NOI was the one solving the problem at that time? And she was the petroleum minister right? And she was also solving the problem of power right? Because I remember vividly that during that time also, there was no power for almost 3 weeks.

My dear, I still ask you this, why didn't you complain then as you're complaining now?

FreeGlobe:
Nigerians Growing Poorer For First Time Since 1999 - Businessday

Nigerians are growing poorer for the first time since the return to democracy in 1999 as an economic slowdown combines with still high population growth rates to curb income per capita. Average incomes in Nigeria will fall by about 18 percent in 2015 to $2,550 per annum, from over $3,000 in 2014.

https://businessdayonline.com/2015/11/nigerians-growing-poorer-for-first-time-since-1999/

Passingshot now who has destroyed Nigeria between PDP's 16 years and APC's 6 months?
Oh so you're saying the reason why Nigerians are getting poorer is because of PMB's six months in power?

I ask you this, was there ever a time the average Nigerian got richer since 1999?

It doesn't take a genius to know that our country is getting worse by the day. The cause for this isn't PMB or GEJ, it all started with bad governance.

My Dear do you need me to show you what GEJ did?
So all this up and down while the country is falling apart is okay with you?
Is this the first time you're experiencing fuel scarcity? I remember vividly after the March 28 election, the fuel scarcity that hit Nigeria was way worse than this one, it was worse to the extent that people even couldn't go to work, at least in this one, people can still go to work. So my dear, remind me what GEJ did and why didn't you cry wolf and post pictures when fuel scarcity was paramount during the waning days of GEJ's administration?.

Bitterleafsoup:
Nigerians voted for change and they are getting it in the worst way ever. Since May 29th 2015 our President has been to 11 countries in 181 days.

Nigerians are stuck in the country dealing with everything from fuel scarcity, insurgency in the North East, constant armed robbery in the West, massive protesting in the East.

Millions of dollars are being thrown away on trips that have not benefited the Nigerian people one bit.

Below is a list of countries the president has visited since he assumed office.

1. Niger:

On June 3, the president embarked on his first official trip. He left for Niger Republic to hold talks with President Mahamadou Issoufou on security and how to curb the activities of the terrorist group, Boko Haram in the region.

2. Chad:

On June 4, Buhari headed for Chad to hold talks with his Chadian counterpart, Idris Deby, as Nigeria and neighbouring countries find lasting solutions to the lingering Boko Haram insurgency. Bothe presidents vowed to enhance cooperation in the fight against Boko Haram insurgency.

3. Germany:

Two days after his trip from Niger and Chad, the president left Abuja for Germany to attend the G-7 meeting, accompanied by a 20-person delegation including former Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Abdulrahman Dambazau (ret.), his personal photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, and his cook named ‘Anne’.

4. South Africa:

On June 15, President Buhari traveled to South Africa to attend the African Union (AU) summit in which he was the chairperson of the Peace & Security Council meeting. He commissioned the Nigeria Immigration center in the country and also met with some Nigerians living in the country.

5. United States of America:

President Muhammadu Buhari speaks at he UN Assembly while Barrack Obama of the United States looks on
On July 19, President Buhari left Abuja for the USA with a 33-man delegation. The White House was said to have invited Buhari via a statement on June 27, saying that Barack Obama is looking forward to his visit, during which both leaders will be discussing the threat of Boko Haram and how to tackle insurgency.

5a.He also visited the US again in September for the UN General Assembly. The president left Katsina state with a 22-man delegation after celebrating the Eid in his home town in Daura.

6. Benin Republic:

On August 1, President Buhari paid a one-day visit to Benin Republic in continuation of the effort to curb Boko Haram insurgency. He was conferred with a traditional title ‘Manahouwhe’ Gbede’, which means “I will never forget you”.He was also conferred with the national honour of Grand Croix du Benin (Grand Cross of Benin), which is the highest award in that country.

7. Ghana:

On September 7, Buhari arrived Ghana where he was received by the Ghanaian President, John Mahama. During a press conference with President Mahama, Buhari vowed to appoint his cabinet before the end of September.

8. France:

Buhari left Abuja for Paris on September 14, on a three-day official visit following an invitation from his French counterpart Francois Hollande. They both had a closed door meeting where they decided on military cooperation. Buhari also met with top management of biggest multinational companies to discuss their future investments in Nigeria.

9. India:

On October 27, President Buhari left Abuja for New Delhi, India, to take part in the 3rd Summit of the India-Africa Forum. While in the country, Buhari joined other African leaders at summit. He also met with Nigerians living in India and had discussions with Indian businessmen.

10. Iran:

The president arrived at the Mehrabad International Airport on Sunday, November 22 and was received by the Iranian deputy president, Shariat Madri. He was in Tehran, Iran, to participate in the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) summit.

11. Malta:
November 26, 2015 the Preseident landed in Malta 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Governement Meeting.

President Buhari plans to leave Malta for Paris on Sunday where he would present Nigeria’s statement at the United Nations Climate Change Conference billed to open in the French capital on Monday, November 30.
In 181 days you're screaming for change. Isn't it funny you never screamed for transformation during the last administration.

Rest assured that should PMB fail to deliver, its almost a cinch that he will be voted out like the past president.

Poems For ReviewRe: The Joy Of Being Black. by joseph1832(op): 3:30pm On Nov 27, 2015
Tovot:
Its a cool poem, a little aggressive ,but I'd like to agree with reyginus , the poem could really do much better with more sound content. If you add more substance to it, like real things that make you black and proud, that gives you your own identity and sets you aside with a pride, I think it'd pass across a better message to me. This is just my opinion though.
This part answers the embolden.
Am black because Muta Baruka, Malcolm X, Thomas Sankara, Fela Kuti, Odinga Odinga, Marcus Garvey, Nelson Mandela are black!

For black is not a color, No sir!.
Black is a movement. An idea.
One that is unique and has pique
The minds of great minds with ideas,
That is as black as night
And as bright as day.
