As political parties prepare for the governorship primaries in Ekiti State, ahead of the 2022 governorship election, a non-align group within the Peoples Democratic Party has called for unity and Consensus.

The group, which styled itself as PDP Consensus Initiative (PCI), has in a statement urged the leadership and members of the PDP in Ekiti to seek common ground.

According to a statement made available by one of its Conveners, Lanre Abiola, the group said:

“We are here to find common ground for success. Our first assessment of the situation in Ekiti is that the PDP can have a resounding victory in the 2022 governorship election if our party presents a credible and popular candidate.

2. The division and polarisation that exist among the leaders and chieftains must be quickly addressed to strengthen the party and put it in a good position to win in 2022.

3. It is not true that APC has become so unpopular that whoever the PDP presents can win in 2022. You must understand that Gov Fayemi’s unpopularity may not significantly affects the fortunes of the APC if it presents a better candidate than the PDP.

4. Party members, most especially the delegates and leaders, must understand that they can rise above momentary gains, unite, work together and present a winnable team. Gambling is not an option for the PDP in Ekiti State.

5. All party members and leaders need to remember that it was difficult for us to produce a successor in 2018; it would be much more difficult in 2022 if we do not present a credible, popular and respected team (Governorship and Deputy) who can turn the people into a movement.

EKiti people are eagerly awaiting the PDP to give them a good candidate, and they are ready to finish the business. We must therefore rise above petty politics and dramas.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content and lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin is billed to deliver 2021 Lecture of Oyo State Branch of Alumni Association of the University of Ibadan.

According to programme of the event, the Oyo Central senator who is also an alumnus of the Premier University would be speaking on the topic "Governance and Security in Nigeria".

The lecture holds on Friday, 10th of September 2021 at University of Ibadan Alumni Association Auditorium (Dr. Michael Omolayole Alumni Centre by 4:00pm.

Senator Folarin is expected to be honoured with Special Award of Excellence in recognition of his political achievements and for being a worthy ambassador of the citadel of learning.

The attention of the Ag. National Chairman of APGA, High Chief Jude Okeke, has been drawn to a Press Release by the Independent National Electoral Commission titled “Candidates For Anambra Governorship Election” dated 19th August, 2021.
The Ag. National Chairman insists that by the provisions of both the Electoral Act and the INEC time table, INEC ought not to make any other publications of candidates until October which would be the final publication. This publication by INEC is unknown to law and should be discountenanced as we would not be party to aiding INEC in violating the laws of our land.
The Court of Appeal Kano Division did not make any finding that Victor Oye is Chairman or that Prof. Soludo is candidate of our Party. The Court only set aside the judgment of the Jigawa High Court for want of jurisdiction. In the absence of any direct order by the Appeal Court, the judgment that conclusively determines the question of who is Chairman and Candidate of APGA is the judgment B. C. Iheka of the Owerri High Court reaffirmed by Justice V. C. Isiguzo of the same High Court. Both the judgment and order from the Honorable justices of the Owerri High Court had been served on INEC before this contemptuous action of changing the name of our candidate.
APGA will consider an action in contempt against the Commission as it has not gone down well with Ndi Anambra to have a neutral electoral umpire succumb to the whims and caprices of a section of the political class.
Based on the foregoing, Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji is still the candidate of our Party and all preparations for the kickoff of his campaign as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State is in top gear. The launch of the campaign which will lead to Umeoji winning the November 6 governorship election and becoming the next governor of the state will hold next week.
The authentic Chairman of APGA, High Chief Jude Okeke will be presenting the flag of the party to Umeoji at the launch of the campaign that will be attended by party leaders, members and loyalists across the state and the country who have been yearning for the comforting touch of Hon. Ahead of the Anambra State governorship election fixed for November, a major political realignment is currently ongoing within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

To this end, a joint strategic meeting of the Imo and Anambra State chapters of the party was held on Saturday in Awka.

The joint meeting which was Chaired by Imo State APGA Chairman Chief Chibuike Ogbonna and hosted by his Anambra Counterpart, was meant to devise strategies that will lead to the party's victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

All APGA stakeholders in the two states attended the meeting which was presided over by the chairman of the party in Imo State, Chibuike Ogbonna.

All chairmen of the party in all the local governments in the two states attended the all-important meeting.

At the end of the meeting, all the critical stakeholders pledged their loyalty to Jude Okeke as the party's national chairman and disowned Victor Oye.

They also ratified the choice of Chukwuma Umeoji as the party's candidate in the election.

They also endorsed Prof Lilian Orogbu as Umeoji's running mate for the election.

According to the party's stakeholders, there is no going back on the candidature as they vowed to work hard to ensure their victory in the election.

To achieve this noble objective, the stakeholders are set to announce a joint campaign council to help strengthen the party ahead of the lifting of the ban on political campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Senator representing Plateau South in the National Assembly, Prof. Dame Nora Daduut has condemned in strong terms the brutal attack in some communities that led to destruction of lives, crops, farmland and properties in Northern parts of Plateau State.

Prof. Daduut in a press statement on Tuesday in Jos urged security agencies to respond swiftly to the security challenges that is getting out of hands.


I task security agencies to take all necessary measures to stop the deteriorating security situation in Bassa and Riyom Local Government Areas .

" I call on security operatives to go after those attacking Innocent villagers and they should be made to pay for their heinous actions ."


The Senator who commended Governor Simon Lalong for summoning a security meeting said that she is confident that the Lalong led Government will engage all stakeholders in addressing the matter with a view to bringing an end to the unfortunate and unacceptable attacks on innocent citizens aimed at disrupting the peace of the affected areas and the State at large.

I also commend Governor Lalong for directing the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Peace Building Agency (PBA) to immediately go to the affected communities to provide humanitarian assistance and sue for Peace.

The Special Appeal Panel of the Court of Appeal sitting in Kano has dismissed the Motion filed by Chief Edozie Njoku seeking leave of the Court to appeal as an interested person against the Jigawa State High Court judgment which declared Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji as the candidate of APGA.

The Court held that the Motion was filed outside the constitutionally provided time of 14 days as provided by Section 285 (11) of the Constitution which demands that such Motion be filed within 14 days. The Court geld that by filing the Motion on 22nd July, 2021 Chief Edozie Njoku was out if time and it was incurable defect to the Motion which made it deserving to be dismissed.

The Panel however granted the application of Chief Victor Oye to appeal as an interested person and fixed Thursday July 5 for hearing of the Appeal. The fate of Chief Victor Oye and Prof Chukwuma Soludo still precariously hang in the balance as the journey is far and campaigns will soon commence.

In their respective reactions, High Chief Jude Okeke and Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji both hailed the Court of Appeal decision as victory for Anambra people saying the will of the people will eventually prevail.

They urged their supporters to continue their mobilization for victory unhindered as the Appeal Court will eventually uphold the judgment of the trial High Court.

Information coming out of INEC has comfirmed that the quest by Chief Edozie Njoku to produce the Guber Candidate of APGA for his faction has run into a Constitutional ditch over his faction's inability to comply with the express provisions of Section 187(1) of the 1999 Constitution. The Section states "In any election to which the foregoing provisions of this part of this chapter relate, a candidate for the office of the Governor of a state shall not be deemed to have been validly nominated for such office unless he nominates another candidate as his associate for his running for the office of Governor, who is to occupy the office of Deputy Governor.."

The findings in the Certified True Copy obtained from INEC showed Edozie Njoku sent a one page letter where he nominated himself as Guber Candidate without a nomination for a Deputy which is required to go with it. The hope of Chief Njoku who must have acted with limited legal knowledge was to Substitute himself with Prince Ukachukwu and recently Soludo and other aspirants whom he has gone into negotiations with in his usual mercantile nature obtaining money from them on the false promise of giving them the APGA ticket.

The legal implication is that any one who gets substituted on the invalid nomination of Edozie Njoku technically gets eliminated in the contest since Njoku has not made a valid nomination because he never submitted a Deputy before the close of deadline for submission on 9th of July 2021. Chief Njoku who has been suspended from Office by the NEC of APGA which installed Jude Okeke who is now affirmed by Court as authentic APGA National Chairman is fighting a lost battle to regain the seat and now this devastating finding makes his struggle for APGA leadership a wasteful exercise as he cannot participate in the election even if made Chairman, there by killing APGA even before November 6th date of the election.

Thousands of members of the People’s Democratic Party in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State have denounced membership of the PDP to declare their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress.

The defection rally which took place in Itigidi had in attendance, the caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the State Sen. Mathew Mbu Jr, Abi Local Government Chairman, the State Commissioner for Health, member representing Abi/Yakurr in the Federal House of Representatives Chief Alex Egbona, a former National Auditor of the PDP Mr. Bolaji Anani, Member representing Abi LGA in the State House of Assembly, councillors, traditional rulers, political associates of Sen. Imoke, market women and thousands of youths.

Former Governor Liyel Imoke is from Abi Local Government Area. It will be recalled that in 2019, Sen. Imoke lost his Federal Constituency to the All Progressives Congress. A development many described as a rejection of Sen. Imoke by his kinsmen.

Speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Health described the defection as an affirmation that Abi Local Government Area is APC and noted that PDP is now history in the LGA. The chairman of Abi LG, Hon. Farathor Robinson thanked the Women and Youths for the massive defection and alignment with the Governor’s decisions to take CRS to the center.

Sociology experts believe that there is correlation between unemployment and crime. Our goal is to get you employed and keep you away from crime. The Imo State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has declared that the correspondent of the Punch newspapers in the state, one Chidiebube Okeoma is not a registered member of the union.

The correspondent on Monday falsely claimed he was brutalized by policemen while filming some restricted quarters in Imo Government House.

But the state government through the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba debunked the false claim by the ranting journalist, adding that Okeoma was working for the opposition to destabilize the state.

However, the NUJ on Thursday disclosed that investigation by it had revealed that the said Okeoma is not a registered member of the union.

A statement issued by the union and signed by the Chairman, Comrade Chris Akaraonye and the Secretary, Juliet Dim, stated that some people who claim to practice journalism in Imo State, are actually not members of the union.

The union warned Okeoma to desist from dragging the name of NUJ to the mud, adding that even Punch which he claims to be reporting for does not associate with NUJ as a body.

The release further hinted that if the latter continues with his unethical conduct, the union will make an official report to the management of Punch Newspapers and ensure he is adequately sanctioned.

Imo State Government yesterday debunked reports that a correspondent of Punch newspapers was brutalized by security operatives from the governor's office for covering protests by women.

It said the man, Chidiebube Okeoma was questioned by the police for failure to properly identify himself after he was caught filming restricted areas of Government House long after the protesters had dispersed.

The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy Hon Declan Emelumba described Okeoma as an agent of the opposition who was in Government House for a sinister agenda and not for the practice of journalism.

Hon Emelumba also clarified that he never apologized to Okeoma for being interrogated by policeman, rather for claiming that he was beaten.

According to the Commissioner, when Okeoma called him on phone to report the incident, he promised to get back to him after investigations but that as a human being, he said that if his account was correct, he was sorry about it.

"From his skewed and jaundiced report,it is obvious that the man has an agenda which is to rubbish the efforts of the Government to restore peace in Imo State. He is obviously working for those stoking the security crisis", he submitted.

He noted that although Okeoma claimed that he was accosted by policemen in OCDA vehicle, the headline read that he was brutalized by Uzodinma security operatives.

Hon Emelumba disclosed that investigations showed that the protesters had long gone when Okeoma was caught in restricted areas of Government House and that even when he was accosted he failed to produce his ID card.

He said it was curious that of all the journalists who covered the protesters, none was molested except the Punch correspondent.

He said it was also bewildering that someone who claims to be a journalist could neither produce his ID card nor comport himself in a dignified manner.

The truth is that he belongs to a breakaway faction of NUJ that is working for the opposition. He contrived and orchestrated the entire saga to taint the image of government. Nobody actually molested him", the commissioner insisted.

Hon Emelumba also dismissed the allegation that the chief security officer in Government House offered Okeoma five thousand naira to treat himself of injuries from his encounter with the police.

He said the five thousand naira was for transport fare as requested by the journalist who has now turned it into a blackmail weapon.

While urging the public to ignore the report, the commissioner said the Government of imo state has a very high regard for journalists and would therefore not obstruct the performance of their lawful duties.

The Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has reiterated the calls for more devolution of powers to federating units even as he maintains that what the south-east seeks is equity and justice and not secession.


The Governor made the remark when he welcomed the House Committee on constitution amendment led by the deputy speaker, Ahmed Idris Wase to the state on the event of the public hearing on the 1999 constitution review.

Speaking further Governor Uzodimma said that the move to amend the 1999 constitution will put to rest "our fears and agitations and accommodate our legitimate desires without compromising our rights as citizens'.

On the unity of Nigeria, Gov. Hope Uzodimma maintained that the South East zone still stands for the unity of Nigeria and by no means support secession instead an equitable Nigeria where our people especially the youths will not be treated as “second class” citizens.

The Governor reinstated that in a democratic dispensation dialogue and debate are essential in resolving conflicts rather than violence or insurrection and sees the public hearing in the state as timely and auspicious for the people of the state and South East entirely.

He added that the people want an all encompassing constitution that will work for us, accommodate us as equal citizens, that guarantees for us justice, equity and fair play, a Constitution that makes us proud to be Nigerians.

According to Governor Uzodimma "our people want a Constitution that devolves more power to the federating units, that gives vent to restructuring, that allows for greater autonomy without losing the essence of the federation. In whatever name that it is called, we need a Constitution that will make us stay together as one country comfortably.”

Gov. Hope Uzodimma while calling on the Constitution Review Committee to ensure that the constitution captures the rights of the people as well as sense of justice, equity and fairness and appealed for a sixth state for the zone. This will go a long way to assuage their present worries.

He however maintained that issues surrounding state policing, restructuring and other issues agitating the minds of Nigerians are the duty of the legislature and not the executive as such Nigerians should use the opportunity of the amendment to make a case for their needs.

While the state is breathing a fresh air of peace and tranquility coupled with law and order being maintained by all and sundry, it is a pointer that normalcy has been restored and people can now go about their lawful businesses as usual.

The report from security agencies in the state brings to finality any threat to the security of the people as they punctuated their reports with a charge to continue our usual night life activities- the crux of the ngwori lifestyle of Owerri people.

In the course of restoring peace some persons fell victims either through stray bullets or security operatives who paid the supreme price deaths in the course of their duty.

It is on this premise that Gov. Hope Uzodimma during the 2021 Democracy Day stakeholders luncheon expressed that these martyrs of peace have been acknowledged while he prays for the peaceful repose of their souls and declared that they will be made heroes. Concerned about the present security situation in Imo state, Christian leaders in the state have sued for peace calling on all aggrieved persons to sheath their swords and ensure that lasting peace is restored in the state.

Rochas Anayo Okorocha got in touch with Gulak and made some very uncomfortable statement and I quote " *For what you did to me, I'll not forgive you*" on a camera look; could this be as a result of Gulak's role during and after APC primaries that produced Imo current governor? Or is there any other thing aside the above? Let's concern ourselves with His roles in the APC primary elections in Imo. Recall, Gulak had earlier alleged that Okorocha attempted to kidnap him and some of his committee members while they were still in their hotel rooms, Thus the popular Question purportedly asked by Okorocha *"WHERE IS GULAK"?* Remember the search for Gulak by Okorocha didn't stop in Owerri, they took it down to Izunaso's House... What the search was for, is still yet be made known... May be Okorocha may have the answer...
Okorocha on his side, is yet to make any statement till date to that regard.

Could it be that The death of Gulak was as a result of his outright rejection of Okorocha's offer of *two million United state's dollar plus a Luxurious jet ride offer by Okorocha* prelude to the primary elections?
I sense vendetta and A murder as a result of political malice... Okorocha needs to answer to Nigerians why he told Gulak that "He will never forgive him" recently...

Okorocha Reached out to Sen. Orji Uzo Kalu, The senate minority leader and the leader of the committee to southeast urging him to cancel the meeting in owerri citing insecurity that he can't guaranty their safety when the the current attacks are still not the way it was in the last few days.
Didn't it spark up some Deep thought in your subconscious mind? Questions like;
*Does it mean that Okorocha was pre - informed about the incessant attacks in the state?*
*Why did he not attend the meeting?*
*Did he had other plans?*

OK, Orji Kalu didn't yield to his request, He reach out to his wife.... Lolo Ifeoma Uzorkalu with same request, Another question should crop up in your mind like;

*Why was he desperate for the Senate to call off the meeting slated for owerri?* your guess will be as good as mine... Another pointer to were the bullets may have come from...

Okorocha's desperate moves didn't stop at the Uzo Kalu's phones he extended it to the National Assembly. It is on record that he wrote to the Senate through the Senate president that the meeting be called off that their security can not be guaranteed by him, a move that was not heeded to by the Senate. Nigerians should now ask Sen. okorocha; *If he is still the Chief Security officer of Imo state* why the regular use of this phrase *"Their security cannot be guaranteed by him"*

It is also on record that those Okorocha recruited into ISN (Imo Security Network) while he was still the Governor of the state were not demobilized neither were they made to return their weapons back to the government as the law directed. It should also be worthy of note that those sympathetic to the Rescue Mission government are still using those Gun whirling boys as their guards and those guys are still having a cult like Loyalty to Okorocha a move that will keep one wondering why Okorocha did not do the needful by demobilising those lots.. *Does it mean that he has another plans for those lots?*
*What did he mean when he said "If Uzodimma wants peace, he should hands off all his properties*?

*ISN* and their possible involvement in the
Gulak's Murder....*

Okorocha said that his quietness is not a sign of cowardice and that no body has monopoly over violence a statement directed at a sitting governor should leave one asking, *what was he planning and to what end will his plans get to?*

Gulak left his hotel room full of life only to get his life cut short by those men of underworld.

Okorocha's ISN are still very armed and are at large and can only listen to their commander in chief. The next question will now be;

*What was Okorocha's plan when he refused to demobilise the men of ISN on leaving office as the Governor?*

*What did he actually mean when he told Gulak that he will never forgive him for what he did to him?*

*What was Gulak's Offense against Okorocha?*

*What was his plans when he issued a threat to the state government that, "There will no peace unless the government hands off from all his properties"?*

As a senator or Governor, one doesn't have the constitutional backing to command the police nor the Army, how then did he plan to execute his threats to both Gulak and Imo state Government if not through those ISN men who are very much loyal to him.

*Scare Mongering*

Rochas was busy talking to who cares to listen that Imo is not secure, he said it to the presidency, urging the president to get involved and declare a state of emergency in the state a move that was totally rejected by the presidency,
he switched to the house of reps members (minority caucus), it didn't fly and he tried to arm twist the Southern senators, they rejected his moves and suggestions... Then comes this questions;

*Why is Rochas bent on discouraging high profile persons from visiting the state?*

*Why is he going around preaching a gospel of insecurity in the state?*

Finally, We urge the security agents to investigate thoroughly with leads mentioned above but not limited to it.
The death of Gulak should not be wished away with just a wave of hand.. It needs to be used to serve a deterrent to all intending political assassins and their pay masters.

The Imo State Government through the Commissioner of Information, Declan Emelumba says the statement credited to the PDP over the present state insecurity in the state is a clear case of self indictment of the party as the real perpetrators of insecurity in the state.

The Commissioner of Information, expressed concerns as why PDP in all that has been happening in Imo State, starting from the prison break where over 1000 hardened criminals were released, to the recent security challenges in the state, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party PDP never for once condemned the wicked acts or called for peace in anyway and now suddenly making an insensible request.

In his statement “This is like all the unfortunate happenings in the state was a script been played and they think it is time to finally unveil their plans..

The Commissioner called on security agencies not to wait for any further evidence in arresting and prosecuting the leadership of the people’s Democratic party in the state for fueling insecurity in Imo.

He adds that the PDP in several fora has made it clear after the Supreme Court ruling that they will make the state ungovernable for the Governor and the recent happenings in the state is a clear manifestation of their plans which was escalated by the gruesome murder of Ahmed Gulak.

The Commissioner reassured Ndi Imo that Governor Uzodimma is on top of the situation for the safety of lives and Properties he swore an oath to protect.

-CALL FOR RESIGNATION FRIVOLOUS, LAUGHABLE AND DELUSIONAL.

The attention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter has been drawn to the press release of the People's Democratic Party, (PDP) Imo State, being a text of their press conference held today June 3, 2021 wherein they amongst other things called for the resignation of the Executive governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, following the current security situation in the state.

After a preliminary analysis of the said press statement which is currently circulating on various media platforms, particularly social media, it was not surprising to us that the People's Democratic Party had finally vindicated the governor, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Uzodimma, in his position that the current insecurity in the state is politically motivated.

As a party, we have always stood by the governor, who by his privileged position as the Chief Security Officer of the state, with unhindered access to sensitive security details, that the escalating cases of insecurity in our hitterto peaceful state is politically sponsored. What we do not know before the PDP's press conference was the identity of those behind the sponsorship of these reckless killings of innocent citizens, security personnel and wanton destruction of public assets. We strongly hold now, that the mask has been unveiled!

To prove the governor right in his uncompromised position that the issues at hand has more to do with political grievances than IPOB/ ESN separatist agitation, the PDP in it's release confessed thus: "...These, coupled with the uncanny imposition of Senator Hope Uzodinma as governor of Imo State by the Supreme Court, must have contributed to the current insecurity in the State" This further shows that PDP as a self-serving political entity, doesn't have the interest of Imolites at heart but would stoop to deepest of lows in pursuit of their pecuniary interest.

The call for the governor's resignation by PDP is not only frivolous, laughable and delusional but a further demonstration of acute desperation to sneak back to Douglas House through the backdoor, even at the detriment of lives and properties of ndi Imo. One had expected the PDP as the main opposition party in the state to come up with possible alternative solution to the situation, but that will be seeking for a virgin in a brothel. We want to reassure PDP that no amount of incitement of the public against the Government and or criminal sponsorship of insecurity in the state will deter the state government in it's commitment to recover, rehabilitate and reconstruct Imo State in line with his 3R mentra.

It is most heart breaking and regrettable too that some notable elder statesmen and critical stakeholders in the PDP's fold who ought to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship into the younger generation, could condescend to an all time low to join unstable political characters with little or no stake in Imo project to destroy the Imo, all of us have laboured to build over time. Though, it is not too late to retreat!

However, as a responsible political party, while we will continue to call on peace loving Imolites to continue to join hands with Government and all relevant security agencies in their efforts to restore peace and security in our state, it is our fervent prayers that God will grant the families of the victims of unfortunate security situation, the fortitude to bear these losses with equanimity.

Finally, we call on all relevant stakeholders in the state, as well as the aggrieved opposition to embrace peace for the collective interest of all Imolites.

May Imo prevail.

Recent events in Imo State should raise some posers to the minds of everyone. By every ramification, Imo people are peace-loving and hardworking. The people are also not known for any form of violent extremism.

Suddenly, the peace of the state was just broken in one fell swoop. It is good to know where the rain began beating us, and why we have sunk so deeply into the murky pool of violence. The new sites of violence now are security formations most of which are basically manned by Ndi-Igbo themselves. In this orgy of violence, our people are exterminated, and scores rendered fatherless and even homeless.

Now, whenever any act of violence is perpetrated, the economy suffers as business premises around the areas also receive the bite of insecurity.
Out of desperation, some seen and unseen forces in the state are trumping up conspiracy theories aimed at denigrating the government of the state.

These forces cook up narratives that deconstruct the many notable efforts of the government of Imo State at nipping insecurity in the bud. To be sure, the state has done a lot in the area of security. It has donated over two hundred security vehicles, well fitted with communication gadgets to security agencies in the state. Security personnel have also been placed on red alert to forestall any potential breakdown of order.

Recently, the Imo Security Organisation was launched to combat insecurity. A security summit involving traditional rulers and presidents-general of all the communities in Imo was recently convened, all in a bid to revamp community policing in the state. The governor has also been in touch with the people in making them embrace patriotism at a critical time such as this.

Noteworthy also is the town hall meetings which the government is currently holding with each of the twenty seven LGAs of Imo State.
Essentially, the government has as its primary duty to secure lives and properties at all cost. But this implies that the citizens have a noble role to play in complimenting the efforts of the state. The citizens for instance should not harbour elements with questionable character or suffer their excesses. The role of providing actionable intelligence to security agencies also falls within the ambit of what citizens should do.

Now, when acts of violence are carried out amid cheers from the citizenry, whose interest does it serve? When stray bullets hit the innocents going about their activities, is there anything celebratory about it? Now, is it not ironic and self-defeatist that we celebrate what will haunt us?
The unfortunate manner the opposition and their goons are blowing the insecurity in Imo out of proportion is condemnable. An insecure state portends danger for everyone. In saner climes, opposition does not celebrate insecurity.

Dangerous times, rather, present occasions when ranks are closed to save the state or polity. The greatest danger that limits mankind is fear of the unknown. When people live in fear, it comes with a crushing psychological and economic blow. This is what the opposition in Imo does not yet realize.

The manner of
demonizing the state Chief Executive at their whims is disrespectful and only smacks of a hidden agenda which time will tell in its eternal predictability.
Constructive criticisms are a part of the beauty of democracy. In Imo, unfortunately, criticisms are now hatched and thrown with abusive epithets. Such manner of criticism only portrays the bile and wile of opposition. Pulling the triggers of criticism could edify if the critic suggests practical solutions or alternatives. The period we are is no time for the opposition in Imo to gloat. It will be absolutely insensitive of them. It is also no time to deploy the levers of the social media network to spread ill-founded stories and sarcastic narratives that breed hate and divisiveness.

Sen Hope Uzodinma as Chief Executive of Imo State has been working round the clock to ensure that the Imo of our dreams are realized. We must, yes we must, join forces with him. A lot of infrastructural projects have been carried out by him in just less than eighteen months.

Remarkable in these multi-sectoral projects is their high quality and durability. There are other administrative efforts at restoring sanity in the running of state affairs especially with the sustenance of panels of inquiry. For instance, the white paper on land acquisitions emanating after an exhaustive sitting of a panel only shows a government that is ready to right the wrongs of the past, as well as build sustainable institutional framework. The vehement fight a section of opposition has been giving to the actualization of this whitepaper is already a study in mundane desperation and conspiracy.

Sen Hope Uzodinma is governor today; tomorrow another may come after him, yet Imo remains. This is why we must not allow our state to be a test ground for anarchy. The death of a human according to John Donne is diminishing. No one should even feel excited about the death of another. As well, no one should engage in the macabre dance of blame-games when dastardly acts are committed.

We must unite against evil so that evil does not consume us.
What many may not know about Gov Hope Odidika Uzodinma is his high level of sagacity and practical intelligence. This is why he does not engage in wasting words when action is demanded. He is our leader and we do not have any choice than to support him.

And no one should pretend to love Imo State more than the governor's. This is a leader that has declared in words and deed that he has not come to steal the patrimony of Imo State, and has gone ahead to encourage us to blow the alarm on any personal investment he has made with state funds committed to his charge.

The Senator Hope Uzodinma I know is not into crass acquisition of wealth. He is not into any real estate and foreign investments. Humanity has remained the centerpiece of his attention. So if such a person is already on the saddle of power, is it not instructive to give him a chance to prevail?

All in all, the truth that can heal at this critical time is more psychological than physical. It is the truth that you should give a hard thought and then imbibe so that it will heal your disconsolate mind. Imo is our own; we destroy it today at the peril of our children alive and unborn. That is the only truth that can rouse any hate-bearing mind and cudgel-wielding hand.

We have never been known for violence and no reason, no conspiracy, no narrative, no man, no principality and no politician should incite us to support the evil of violence.
