The thing is...in Simon Fraser university, if u are applying for a MASc in Engineering, you have to first secure a supervisor. Upon getting a supervisor, it two things next;either the supervisor finds your program or you have a scholarship from your country to fund the program incase your supervisor doesn't have funding. My supervisor has no funding and was like I should contact the dean of Grad studies to find a way around funding the program myself . Was thinking of using an Aunt's Company or foundation to issue a letter of scholarship to me.. what do u guys think? And I hope I explained better here cuz I need opinions |

I have but was informed that it's a strict policy of the school that students for their thesis program must either have a funding from their prospective professor or scholarship from their home country Newman1010: @Josh1996, do you have the funds to pay for your entire tuition fee? If yes, inform the school that your family has decided to pay all your fees before resumption. I think the school is finding it hard to believe that you have enough funds to pay your fees. If you are sure you have the funds, pay you entire tuition and they will accept it. That’s the only way to show that the funds are readily available. |

Good morning bosses, please I need your advice. I was able to secure a supervisor at Simon Fraser university. But he can't fund me and I intend funding myself but the school requires that students not funded by Professors should secure a scholarship in their home country as they (sfu) don't accept self funding. What can I do as I really want to work with man and the tuition of the school is very cheap. The Professor has already asked me to ask the Dean of Grad studies for a way around it but I also want to know your opinions please. Thanks |

To all those waiting for their TRV, I pray God almighty actualize their dreams. I must also say prayer is key.

Congratulobia ooooo. God wey do your own go do my own. Rep us well over there ApostleNduBiz: Hello My People,I received my approved TRV/stamped passport today at VFS office,Lekki,Lagos.
I've been a quiet follower of this thread.I stumbled on it after submitting my study permit application.I must confess some assertions made on this forum made me want to lose confidence in my application and made me leave my fate in the hands of Jehovah as my only Advocate. For instance,a member of this forum stated education loan cannot fly and while another member affirmed that Fixed Deposit Certificates as proof of funds is a no-no.
My Timeline Paper application at VFS Lekki Lagos.... 18th April,2018 Linked my application online....5th May,2018 Medical Call....8th May,2018 Medical Done.... 9th May 2018 Medical updated as passed on my online account...18th May,2018 Contacted by my school (UBC) to give consent to confirm my acceptance and release my personal details(student number, date of birth, program, program start and end dates, etc) to CIC....8th June 2018....I consented immediately. My online account started reading Account/Profile Updated..... 21st June 2018 Within minutes,my online account started reading 'New Message' (no longer Account/Profile Updated).... 21st June,2018 Yet and even uptil now my online account was and is still reading 'Your application is in progress','we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility requirements....We are processing your background check' (even after collecting my stamped passport...this shows the website is having issues).Even the 'new message' does not open for me to see the details. Contacted by VFS to pick up my processed passport at Lekki.....25th June,2018 Visited VFS to pick up my approved TRV/Stamped passport.... 26th June,2018.
To all TRV hopefulls,it will end in praise.Keep on keeping on!!!Now i can sleep very well and plan ahead...What a big relief!!!

from the last time I spoke with the Graduate Admin. .they had not started evaluating my winter 2019 applications (that's the period I applied for) as they were just rounding up with the fall entries. wait, so does that mean that my application file would still be sent to my potential supervisor for assessment despite her agreeing to be my supervisor? Prudento: Has ur application been forwarded to ur supervisor? If no, she doesn't have anything to tell you. |
