Google for schools in Canada, from each schools website go to their graduate school and you will see details there. Their sites are easy to navigate through. Deadlines differ from school to school. You can apply for either fall 2019 or winter 2020, those are the available resumption terms for now. I hope this helps. Good luck Christty: please, I want to start my own application for masters degree program. I want to ask when is the application deadline of most of the schools and can I start now to resume when? please, No abusive words. Thanks. |

Congratulations, God that has done yours will do ours...Amen!!!! kerry101: Hello All,
Approval Alert.
Applied sometime in March 2018, myself and parents. Was rejected in May. I came across this forum after my application and after seeing the application documents been submitted by various applicants, it was safe to say although grudgingly that the rejection was deserved. After going through the thread, I updated my SOP with personal goals and aspirations as opposed to being generic in my previous application.
He asked for additional documents to include with the previous submitted docs. I submitted: All IMM forms Sponsor's SOA Letter of Acceptance Statement of Purpose Offer Letter from my work place. NYSC Certificate
He asked for: Payslips CAC Document Sponsor's Letter Visa from US WAEC Certificate Introduction Letter and Study Leave from my work place PPA offer letter during Service.
Submitted June 5th Biometrics June 12 and 13 Medical request November 15 Medicals done on the November 22 Passport request January 10 Dropped passport January 11 Picked up passport January 18.
I (We) prayed and believed God and God did it. I deferred my admission to Fall 2019 so I have some time to keep on working, wait and prepare. Also thanks to all those active members cos I'm a silent one that keep on sharing their knowledge of the process on this forum. God bless you all and all TRV hopefuls will not be disappointed cos God answers prayers. |

After 3 rejects, I'd advise you try somewhere else because Canadian schools have different grading scales. Even the Porvinces have different grading scales but in all seems the GPA is low. Try to make enquiries by sending mails to the grad coordinators of either the Canadian (if u still want to apply) or American schools and detail your profile to them so they can assist you before you apply or not. Yureyes: Please house help me.
I applied to three Canadian schools in 2017 but they all said GP issues.
Although my degree is unclassified and there is no cumulative GPA on my transcript, i applied to four schools in Canada and i didn't get admission supposedly because my grades were low when compared to their standard. The first school even told me my CGPA wasn't up to 3.50 on a five point scale or 3.0 on a 4 point scale. I doubted because you hardly find a medical graduate with a very low gpa, so i applied to three others
I turned to US and evaluated my transcript but my GPA on a US 4 point scare according to WES is 3.15/4. Now I am wondering what went wrong in those Canadian schools? Or is Canada's grading system different from that of US?
Is it because there is no classification on my transcript or certificate, so each schools calculate my grades the best way they can?
Will anyone advise me to try Canadian schools again after three rejected me on the basis of low grades? |

Congratulations domex007: hi guys
i have been a nairaland follower since 2013.
I know i am not suppose to post this here but i just want to raise the hope of Nigerians seeking greener pastures abroad. I also applied for CANADA VISA in 2016 but was denied. I DIDNT GIVE UP AS I AM IN NEW JERSEY NOW! Please DONT GIVE UP! Please join me in thanking GOD for this testimony
i am sorry my testimony is coming late. i hope it helps raise the hope of Nigerian youths seeking greener pastures here.
My brief HIstory: i have been denied USA student visa in 2013, 2014 and 2015 i then turned my dreams to canada in 2016 (paid my school fees in full and was still denied student visa in 2016 after waiting over 3months) at this point my money was almost finished and my family started advising me to start studies here in nigeria I also tried Germany in 2016 was also denied
i enrolled for yaba tech part time program while i also chased my travel dreams in Germany. i was also denied visa to germany because i couldn't raise the 8,800 euro blocked account.
at this point, i was frustrated and desperate, but the work load from yabatech and my business kept me from depression.
immediately, after my graduation in Yaba i decided to give USA one last trial knowing fully well that i will be denied but i kept on pushing forward
my interview went thus: first, my interview was for 6;30 13th august 2018 but for the first time i got to the embassy very late and i was not scared or nervous. it rained heavily that day and the rain no pity me at all. i just protected my documents and went it. i was very cold and feeling sick. i just wanted to do my interview and leave. i was bending down to make my self warm and was almost sleeping before the person behind me told me that it was my turn.
My interview was very long.........
my interview: (a Beautiful black american woman): VO: Hi there. are you okay? Me; Hi. yes i am fine. i am just cold. with fake smile on my face. VO: oh okay why are you going to the USA? Me; for my undergrad studies in Business Administration and management VO: when did you finish high school? Me; 2012 VO; what have you been doing since: Me; I went for a computer diploma program for a year. then i started applying to Universities in US, Canada, Germany and Nigeria. Things didnt go as planned with the Abroad studies so i went for my National diploma in yaba that took me 4years. VO: Why did you choose to continue studies in US? why not nigeria? me: the educational system in nigeria is really poor even though it is affordable to study in nigeria. my program for example is suppose to be a program of 2 years but due to the strike and poor educational amenities it will take me longer time to graduate here in Nigerian university. And i believe in the proverb; "what is what doing is what doing well" VO: Why do you Change your course? Me; briefly after my studies i open a Human Hair Business with the financial assistance from my uncle but i need more board knowledge in the field of business. thats why i decided to change my program to help me business grow when i return to Nigeria. VO:how many Universities did you apply to? Me; A lot VO; sorry i meant how many gave you admission? Me: 6 VO: wow, name them Me: saint peters University, University of central oklahoma,Troy University, University of manitoba, Canada. Conestoga College, Canada, and the last one Westfallen, Germany VO: can i see some other admission and I-20 me: *i smiled because i know she didn't trust me. I passed them to her and apologized because they were a bit wet. Vo: passed them back and asked how i found out about Saints Peters University Me; My cousin who is a US citizen studied there and he has nothing but praise for the university. VO: what classes will you be taking? Me: I smiled because this question was the reason why i was denied the 2nd time. I answered them sweetly grin VO: what will happen to your business when you leave Nigeria. Me; Presently, i have filled my sister in on the basic things she needs to know to keep the business alive until i return VO: can i see some of the business documents ME; i passed her CAC document and business bank statement with just 400k in it Vo: who is paying for your studies? Me: my uncle? VO: Why? Me; He has been the one funding my education due to the death of my father in 2007 VO: what does he do? Me; He is a medical doctor VO: Can i see his bank statement? Me: Passed his bank statement VO: he is in the US? Me; Yes ( at this point i thought i will be denied) VO: what is his legal status Me; He is a citizen Vo: do you have his tax clearance? Me: Passed them VO: flips through and returns them
*starts Typing endlessly as i was waiting for my denial letter* God surprised me as she raised her head and gave me the White paper and said the magical words
VO: Congratulations and goodluck in your business Me; *straight face* Thank you so much ma
Me: stepped out in the rain. the jubilation in me chased the cold away grin grin grin grin grin My family cant still believe it until the day they excorted me to the airport with tears of Joy in the eyes of my Lovely mom
I got to US on December 4th, Cold has been dealing with me since....
My dear brothers and sisters, I give thanks to God for the delay i faced before because He was using it to help me build a business for my self here in Nigeria. i wore simple native attire, went last with so many red flags and still got the visa. It can only be God.
i hope my testimony boost your hope. NEVER GIVE UP! Give it your best!
I also thank all Nairaland members especially Amefrica, Gravinton, Stewee, Kunlebal, Walspring, even Justwise as i Welcome myself to AMERICA |

Congratulations. God wey do your own go do our own. Amen!!!! EngrDewole: Okay this is going to be a long post.
God is just great. Being a silent reader but i must say i really learnt a alot eventhough i submitted my application before dicovering this thread. Didnt have the best of timeline and anytime my mind think about not including SOP i just think about how i messed up but God still came through for me. Online Submitted on the 6/10/2018 Biometrics on the 9/10/2018 Medical mail on the 4/12/2018 Gate crashed iom lagos on the 5/12/2018. Thank God they never picked my call for inquiries because they would have told me fully booked till February 2019. Hian!! Pleaded with the woman at the front desk and she allowed me through before her boss came in. Is that not God at work? Anyways did my normal checkup before the doctor said my blood pressure was high that i need to go see a cardiologist. I explained to him that i drove all the way from osun state to lagos state that there is no way my blood pressure won't be high considering the situation of Nigerian roads. All fell on deaf ears and he still insisted on me seeing the cardiologist that cost me extra buck but hey, there was nothing i could do, the ECG later came out and they declared me fit. I was scared but i knew nothing was wrong with me. Anyways i passed the medical.
Ppr came in two weeks later on the 18/12/2018 around 9am. Drove down to lagos the same day to submit but there was a terrible traffic on the way so couldn't meet up. Submitted my passport on the 19/12/2018. Then the long wait started. For 20days no response sent email to lagos visa office yesterday and then i received update yesterday about my stamped passport. I was thinking maybe my village people finally got me but again God pass them.
Received my passport today 8/01/2019. School resumed yesterday though. Anyways i applied to Concordia university Montreal Meng in electrical and computer engineering winter 2019. God be praised
Document submitted. 1)All imm forms 2)Soa dad(9m)and mum (mum soa was literally empty but still submitted that way since i already introduced her as one of my sponsor). Didnt include my account. 3)Pension account dad (15m)and mum(13m) 4)CAC cerificate for my parent 5)Family form 6)Travel history (Malaysia and south Korea) 7)Police cerificate for Malaysia and nigeria. 8 ) Bsc certificate Electronics engineering from my school in Malaysia. 9) CAQ from Quebec 10)Some of the awards and certificates i received while in school 11) letter of introduction from my parents. 12) internship job offer letter 13) waec result, Cambridge A level result and Bsc transcript And prayers prayers prayers.
My thoughts having SOP is very important so please do include it eventhough I didn't. But having a genuine application is importanter. These VO are humans and they will definitely be logical in the way they access these applications. Anyways i wish everyone still expecting there trv approval all the best!! |

Hallelujah and congratulations!!!!! Adebayo2296: APPROVAL ALERT!!! LONG POST!!!
I sincerely thank God for His mercies and grace towards my application. In 2016, we were deceived by canada school agent over 1k dollars trying to apply for my wife. The agent did a poor job including documentations, however she was rejected. So when i decided to apply for myself I did it myself.
I have travel history for family vacation to Dubai and SA and short study in Canada. However, was rejected visa to UK and US. So when they asked if i have been denied visa before? I put UK and US and explained I was denied visa for family vacation.
I decided to apply for study permit paper route on 12 OCt, 2018. Got Medical request on 4December, biometric validation on 18th and approval Jan3, 19. Documents submitted;
- All CIC forms -major required documents -My CAC documents for two companies -Annual returns receipts of 14k paid to CAC not tax clearance -personal current accounts which i have been running very well. Infact i used it for all my transactions to build the account. 6 months SOA over 120 pages. Ending balance of 10.5m and 9m was reserved for all my study expenses which came in from my savings acct from the same bank to current acct. So it shows own account transfer. I moved the money 8 days to my application. -4 Banks accounts for my company with total balance of 1.8m in all -4 bank references -letter of financial sponsorship- written by me as self sponsor -Letter of Introduction from my 2 companies. signed by my staff with our company seal stating I am my position -letter of financial support from my organization for 2k dollars just for flights.( Company sponsorship is not always the best if you have alternatives- you can read more from nairaland about this) -consent letter from wife that i have made provision for upkeep. She wrote it on her company letter head -SOP 3 pages. ( I also had to do handwritten Letter of explanation because i couldn't go back to type it at the point of submission. I had to explain I already had a visiting visa for short study -Valuation of my land with R of O and title deeds -University certificates and transcripts -CV -No tuition deposits -Visa form and Letter from the university -Passport -police report -birth certificates etc
I prepare my application from VO's perspective. I was honest and took my time to prepare documents. I did vigils with Nairaland and google in all my 3 visa applications to learn from past applications. I prayed and thank God alot.
My advice- be honest in all your application process, Be consistent with your information across embassies, relax and submit until you are sure you've your dot your I's and cross your T's and completely rely on GOD = Visa assured! Thanks to @Austacus! He really lifted my spirit at a point of long silence! Let somebody shout Hallelujah!!!!!!! You're the next to share your success story!
All the best to the hopeful!!! |
