Ahmed Musa who spoke ahead of their last group match against Madgascar on Sunday (today), revealed that the NFF are yet to pay Eagles outstanding bonuses. 

Recall that the players had shunned a pre-match press conference and were late for their final training session ahead of Wednesday’s 1-0 win  over Guinea, in protest  over owed bonuses, before they were promised payment by the NFF.  However the recent disclosure by Ahmed Musa comes as a shock, as it was alleged that the Federal Government intervened in the row, by sending funds to Egypt for the payment of the players’ allowances. Speaking at a press conference, the Al Nassr forward said; 

“The spirit is good in camp and we are ready to play tomorrow (today).  We have put the disagreement about bonuses behind us, we spoke amongst ourselves. I don’t know what the NFF has planned, but we will do our job. They are yet to pay the team’s outstanding bonuses. The governments all over Africa need to do better with financing teams for international competitions."

Multichoice, the organizers of Big Brother Naija Reality show, have released some stringent rules to the 2019 BBNaija which includes threat to report social media accounts that live streams the reality show. 

The threat by Multichoice to report social media accounts that live streams 2019 BBNaija and also ensuring that the account is deleted, applies to bloggers, individuals and digital media platforms. The rules also include prohibition of watermarked videos, crediting their platform as a source. It was further learnt that the new rule is aimed at getting people to watch the reality show on DSTV of GoTV.

300 mine workers at Lanxess’s in Rustenburg, South Africa, remained underground for the sixth day yesterday in protest against their boss who loves sex.  The mine workers affiliated to the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA), have been underground since Wednesday afternoon and the protest which was in reaction to the alleged sex-for-jobs scandal at the chrome mine is aimed at initiating an investigation into the scandal. 

It was learnt that the alleged perpetrator had not been suspended and no disciplinary action had been taken against him, even after the NUMSA members raised a series of issues with the mine bosses. NUMSA's general-secretary Irvin Jim, who confirmed that the 300 mine have remained underground  in protest against their boss who loves sex, said; 

“We are in the middle of a crisis. Our workers have been exposed to a risky situation for six days and because of the conditions underground, some of them fell sick and had to be taken to hospital. Other issues relate to organisational rights, our union is not recognised despite having the majority in terms of numbers. About 50 members have been dismissed and in our view that was orchestrated by them joining the union.”

Ben Marais, managing director at Lanxess, confirmed that the strike started on Wednesday. He said the company’s management received a list of demands that addresses various labour-related matters, including a case of sexual harassment.

President Donald Trump abruptly pulled back on strikes he approved against Iran, who shot down a US drone on Thursday night after a day of escalating tensions. The retaliation plan was intended as a response to the shooting down of the unmanned, $130 million surveillance drone, which was struck Thursday morning by an Iranian surface-to-air missile, according to a senior administration official who was briefed on the military planning and spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss confidential plans.

Iran maintained that the US aircraft was downed in Iranian territory, with Foreign Minister Javad Zarif tweeting a timeline of the incident later on Thursday. "At 00:14 US drone took off from UAE in stealth mode & violated Iranian airspace. It was targeted at 04:05 at the coordinates (25°59'43"N 57°02'25"E) near Kouh-e Mobarak," he wrote. However US authorities who countered the claim with its own coordinates, stated that the drone had been flying in international airspace when it was shot down, at a point about nine nautical miles southwest of that cited by Iran.

President Donald Trump who approved strikes on Iran after they shot down the US drone, pulled back when the operation was underway in its early stages. Planes were in the air and ships were in position, but no missiles had been fired when word came to stand down, a senior official said. The abrupt reversal put a halt to what would have been the president’s third military action against targets in the Middle East.

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC have disclosed that they have withdrawn corps members, posted to areas affected by banditry in Niger State. Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi, the state's Coordinator of the NYSC who spoke to newsmen, said the corps members posted to areas affected by banditry were withdrawn because they owe them protection until they finish their service year.

“We will not post corps members to these areas because we cannot afford to lose any of them. Our eyes are on the corps members for the whole year; we are their parents and guardians. We owe them protection until they finish their service year. We have recalled all our corps members from crisis areas and re-posted them; we will not send any corps member to areas where bandits have carried out attacks.

“We are aware that the state government and security agencies are on top of the situation. For now, we will not post any of them to these areas until there are confirmed reports that the places are safe" she said.

Leo Dasilva has called out Governor Sanwo-Olu, after he reportedly made a U-Turn on ending the Apapa gridlock which has become a big issue over the years. 

Recall that it was reported that the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday made a U-turn on his earlier promise to end the Apapa gridlock within his first 60 days in office. Speaking with State House Correspondents, Sanwo-Olu said what he promised concerning the Apapa gridlock was a “review” of the multi-faceted efforts being put in place to ease vehicular movement in Apapa at the end of 60 days.

However Leo Dasilva who called out Governor Sanwo-Olu for making a U-Turn on his promise of ending the Apapa gridlock, stated that all Governors elected in Lagos show a lot of enthusiasm and motivation in their first few weeks but fail thereafter.

A Lagos Deputy Police Commissioner is currently trending on social media, after he stood beside Governor Sanwo-Olu with worn-out zipper. This is coming after Police spokeswoman, Dolapo Badmus stated that a crime fighter should not dress shabbily. She said in an interview;

“I am of opinion that looking good and dressing neat is for everybody, be it a normal citizen or a crime fighter. A lot of people believe that police officers are meant to be seen dirty, haggard and tattered because they fight crime. I disagree with that because being a crime fighter should not make you look like the criminals you are chasing. A policeman or woman must be good looking and clean because it is a noble profession.”

Rotimi, the 'Power' star whose new song 'Love Riddim' has been on airwaves lately recounted how his Nigerian father forced him to save all the money he made from 'Power'.

According to Rotimi, he made his first 6-figures from 'Boss' series he featured iin but his Nigerian father forced him to save money he made. According to him, he got $20,000-25,000 to live with from the millions he made.

He further disclosed that after he got popular after featuring in the "Power" series, his father made him live off the endorsements he got while saving all the checks and money he got from the movie. Rotimi further disclosed that he has been able to buy his first house from the money saved up for him, which he has not been able to touch.

Former Miss Tanzania Wema Sepetu has been jailed over her sex video shared on porn sites, after a court ordered her arrest for failing to appear for her trial.

The actress who is Diamond Planumz ex-girlfriend, was accused of leaking her sex tape online and also charged with breaching her bail terms. Wema, who was Miss Tanzania 2006 is facing charges of sharing an explicit video on the internet, contrary to Tanzanian laws.

In October 2018, a video of Wema Sepetu having an intimate session with a guy she referred to as her ‘future husband’ surfaced online. Following backlash, she was forced to apologize but the damage was done as she was banned from featuring in any film content in the country. The initial jail term given to Wema Sepetu has been scrapped, as she has been jailed till June 24 when the court is set to rule on her bail terms.
