And yet people are shouting buhari is a good man for such policy I just tire, we have to stop reasoning like a "black" man. Black man isn't for sufferhead. Policy is meant to ease and not to make things hard. |

BeauBragnar11: Y'all don't understand the bane of this monetary policy.
It's an attempt at moving away from a cash based economy. There's never a time cash would be much like it used to....Let that sink.!!!!
The maximum the CBN would inject into the economy would be in the region of 1 Trillion, disproportionate to the approximately 3 Trillion previously..Let it sink!! It's a bad policy. You cannot go completely cashless and you cannot force people within few months to go cashless. They create problems for us when none existed. We can go cashless without all the associated problems created. |

baralatie: The president in his address never said the #500 and #1000 are not legal because he is not permitted to. The president only advised that the cbn is now open to receive the deposits of th same notes You see, he ought to talk in clear terms. So i have to take my old 1k notes summing up to 3k to CBN?....this is laughable. A bad policy. |

Politics › Re: All Eyes On Supreme Court As Suit Against Banning Old Naira Notes Resumes Today by JoshTim: 9:09am On Feb 15, 2023 |
blazesam: Am not bothered. CBN has it right to decide when and what is to be issued as legal tender and when to remove it from the economy.
Supreme court has no rights of telling CBN what to do in terms of currency.
Those supporting this are fools. We have been gradually goin through the process and becoming use to it.
Another thing people fail to understand about this regime is the man called Buhari, his decisions before coming in public are irreversible. Look at border closure on rice, Bvas and some other crucial things. This policy has come to stay. If you like die, the short term suffering can not be more than the long term enjoyment this will bring in the future.
Remember what CBN brought up yesterday Shut your dirty mouth. Am at work now, i don't have a single naira on me, no new notes,no old notes. Am still wondering how i will get tfare today. I need new 80k notes before next week to take to embassy. I ask you, how do I get it. You just spewing rubbish. |

SmartPolician: You have a major comprehension issue.
Read what you quoted again. Oga, you have to sit and be thought like a baby again. Have you visited the villages and know the effectiveness of the cash swap program?....this policy is a hard and sudden one, it's affecting everybody. Debts are in overdue, sales low, huge financial illiteracy, micro traders accept cash alone, petty cash cannot be met, and the associated hoarding that it creates, long queue, time and energy wastage, unproductivity, hunger.... Why set a deadline when you know you didn't print enough new notes?...this is an abberation and a disappoinment on the part of CBN. Did they conduct a livelihood impact assessment to know the effects of a major monetary policy?, If yes, where is it?....you don't just sit in your office, make decision and have the president sign. There are due process to be followed. |
Politics › Re: 10 Days To Go: No Cash Yet For Elections - INEC by JoshTim: 7:49am On Feb 15, 2023 |
SmartPolician: Are you an INEC staffer? Stop quoting me if you are not because e-channels can do almost everything cash transactions do.
The last time I checked, NYSC doesn't pay corpers using cash. Besides, CBN has branches in all the 36 states and the FCT. They kicked off Cash Swap program that targets unbanked Nigerians in rural communities. Those corps members should access cash through that channel, if they really need cash.
Unless the CBN drops this policy, everyone must embrace it. Cashless payments have more benefits than carrying cash about. Our problem is that we are obsessed with cash payments, and we are struggling to come to terms with the new normal. E channels even in rural areas? It's obvious you are still being fed and you don't even know what happens in the street. Idiot. |
