MadamExcellency:
Soldiers and Security Agencies are employed to protect lives and properties and not to vent their anger and frustrations on innocent civilians mostly women and children due to military's lack of intelligence or any of their operational failures.

I expect you to know that the civilian populations in Niger Delta especially the women and children are the ones bearing the brunts of the environmental pollution and sufferings in the creeks hence need preservation.

Militants have their means of sustenance (oil bunkering and smuggling) hence should be targeted while the Soldiers should make sure that no civilian is "purposefully" targeted in revenge.
how do you expect creek dwellers to have sense? stop wasting your time, whatever Seun did to attract imbec!les on this forum must be undone.

It is ok, in 2007 your parents could not afford electricity so you did not follow the Jefferson's case, it is not your fault that you are sourcing information from a r@tard like Fayose, your situation is pitiable though understandable, like Obama asked;
"One day Donald will doubt if we actually made it to the moon"
The good thing about the internet is that low lives who used to hawk Casera in Lagos have found a voice, if you had a TV in 2007, you would have seen the docked Aisha Buhari who testified against Jefferson.
Its ok you missed out that part, lets blame it on your humble beginnings, such is life. I can not believe that Nigerians could miss out such widely televised scandal and have the impetus to tell the the world how empty they are, who else missed the september 11 attacks? generational dumbos!!

Ask yourself, if you could afford a television, internet or worse still cable subscription in 2007, will you need a r@tard like fayose (who can not pay salaries by the way) to tell you who testified against Jefferson?

I don't blame Fayose, I blame the poverty level of his supporters, Imagine someone coming in 2026 to tell you that Bernie sanders contested US presidential primaries with Lavrov? that is exactly how this impasse sounds to me.
Anyways, what do you expect when parents buy their hopeless wards phones with internet connectivity?

Africa is the only place where senseless behaviours are celebrated, a woman who doesn't know what she wants will run your home like a barn, do you expect her to grow sense in marriage or does semen improve IQ?
This same man will be complaining on social media how senseless his wife is running his home yet, the woman gave him all the clue how senseless she is from the onset.
Family › Re: I Snubbed Him 12 Years Ago In School, Today We Have 3 Kids by jpphilips(m):
The truth of the matter is that you got what you designed your social circle to deliver, so many men better than your husband does not believe in hunting women like rats, since you made yourself an object to be hunted, it is not surprising you got a hunter, that is exactly the way life works.
Though I hear stories like this, I find it hard to believe that men actually believe that running after women like cock in heat, proves anything.
If a grown ars@ woman who has gotten to the university and she is straight not to know when to lower her guards to work on attracting a suitable male for her future, then such is lady is not worth the stress, it is a clear case of social misrepresentation of reality and an affront to common sense. A grown woman who has no idea what her clock says can not raise proactive children.

Every adult must have the ability to ask "what next", if the answer is a man in your life and the best strategy you could come up with is for the same man that fits your futuristic profile to be running after you like soccer players run after the white leather, then you are not smart enough to know that your strategy has no connection with your desires.

There was a reason Adam woke up from slumber and Eve lay beside him, if it was God's purpose for men to be hopping after women like Kangaroos, God would have made Eve at the other end of the Garden and expect Adam to waste appreciable man hours searching, wooing and convincing her, it is the same general belief that good things in life are free.

There are so many women who are on this deceptive roller coaster from Monday to Friday, then spend the weekend in church asking God for a man. Do you blame God for not answering your prayers? or do you think that the man who said hello with a few compliments and asked for contact to keep in touch is not serious? well, the bad news is that, since women have socially believed that they can not approach a man, they have no right to ask how a man comes into their lives. I wonder how Nigerian men get married to Nigerian women despite their anti social behaviours, must be really tough down there.

Some men like humiliation shaa!!!
Politics › Re: FG Shuts Nine Foreign Missions, Rationalises Staff by jpphilips(m):
You see another problem Nigeria has "interest groups".
If Nigeria is broke and running low on forex, once the FG decides to do the right thing by restricting items to discourage importation, some interests groups will package themselves as experts analyzing rubbish in media houses thereby mounting unnecessary pressure on Government.
Their only interest is themselves, a black man lacks humanities hence he is only concerned about what comes into his pocket, whether others live or die, he doesn't care.

What is difficult for an expert or analyst to understand that the country's source of income (oil) is threatened? anyways, what do you expect an Ambassador to say? a product of the same system that needs to be pruned? We spend so much maintaining these foreign offices paying huge forex on extacodes not adding corruption that comes with anything nigeria to the mix yet a so called analyst will say no, leave the embassy to pursue foreign policy, you can imagine how ret@rded people are.

Our foreign office in Libya could not handle a simple evacuation Process during the Libyan crisis, the plane that left Nigeria came back near empty while the Ambassador and family were the first to board, most of those Nigerians were eventually killed, that shows you how ineffective these so called foreign missions are, who knows what is happening to Nigerians in Syria and the CAR?

Once your passport expires abroad to renew it is WAEc yet we have missions, consulates embassies littered everywhere. it is so bad that the Nigerian Amb to libya had no idea how many Nigerians are in Libya.
Every of our foreign policy implementation framework is designed at home, the President still fly everywhere to consolidate diplomatic ties, the only need for the so called Amb. is to welcome the President at the airport end of story, when was the last time you heard that a Nigerian ambassador met with the president of any home country to discuss issues affecting Nigerians in that country?

Have you ever heard that any Nigerian Amb. secured any trade/Economic deal for Nigeria or even initiate negotiations? confused Presidents before now use ambassadorial appointments as a political pat on the back , imagine Jonathan giving Bianca an ambassadorial slot, that is how low and ineffective we have reduced our foreign missions.

Buhari we are with you send them home, they can learn a trade if they like!!

Your policy framework is good too, ie making the manufacturing sector buy materials at a cheaper forex rate, making them priority.

But at what cost?
That was depleting the reserves very fast, wasn't it?
And besides, when the forex reserve become depleted because we are trying to sell to the manufacturers at a low rate in the long run, what then happens when that forexis depleted? Venezuela tried it, and see where it has landed then today, in big trouble

Waste of time, most of the Big banks do insider trading hence they always know the bid stop rate, my advise is; go with the bid of any financial house affiliated to the big three banks and you will arrive at the stop rate, remember that the banks themselves buy TB at every auction, do you expect a big Financial house to lose money? hell no!!

This was actually from CBN directive bro. You have to google to get this detail, some of us are professionals in the industry.

http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/04/12/how-we-all-depleted-the-foreign-reserves/

http://saharareporters.com/2016/01/11/foreign-exchange-crisis-cbn-lifts-ban-cash-deposit-dollars-others
Where does the CBN get the FX for monetary intervention in a dirty float? Answer this question if you believe our Foreign reserve is so depleted.
Low crude price gave us Fx shortages no doubt but if the CBN has FX to intervene in their new dirty float regime, same Fx could be used to fix the naira against the dollar for essential sectors especially manufacturing.

Please lets be reasonable, Niger Delta unrest started when? When did oil glut started that this administration refused to devalue to accommodate the difference? Wasn't that what prompt JPmorgan to removed us from emerging markets bond index?

Again, you seems to be confused, ND militants impact mostly crude oil buyers. The investors federal government is seeking are bond and treasury investors. So they don't need ND.
Niger delta unrest started in Feb/March 2016, the production drop occasioned by bombings exacerbated your forex shortages. forex shortages led to Budget deficit, budget deficit led to sale of bonds where your lovely investors are involved, damn!! you couldn't make the connection.
If Niger delta bombing continues, investors are scared the FG may default on loan repayment which will tie down their money, You see why my friend is more worried about the bombing than Fx policies. They are foreign investors so long as they dont operate within your economy, they careless what your exchange rate is so long as you repay their interest in dollars.

Why is the manufacturing sector weak? Because CBN and FG failed to adjust their monetary policy to accommodate 70 percent fall in oil prices. Consumer prices surged because of the difference between bank and parallel market rate, and unreasonable restriction of importers (41 items).

Buhari is not an economist so is not in his place to make these decisions, David Cameron, Shinzo Abe, Barack Obama etc don't meddling in economic matters.

Beer issue is still the result of poor monetary policy, they should have adjusted forex policy awhile back.
The fx restriction actually favors local manufacturers because they are given forex at cheaper rate to buy raw materials and machineries, damn!! why are you finding it difficult to understand simple things, who told you I am an APC fan?
I represent the office of the Nigerian citizens.
Buhari did not meddle in CBN affairs, Buhari clearly said NO devaluation, CBN went ahead and devalued because they have autonomy by their constitutional mandate.

Oga you are talking story.
I don't have much time to explain in detail why Buhari's foolishness led to this mess, but I'll just summarise.
Now, the Nigerian economy has more potential outside the sphere of oil, and that is the advantage it has over countries like Saudi and Venezuela who, unfortunately, don't have too much to fall on apart from oil.
The Tourism industry of Saudi Arabia (pilgrimage) is their second most important sector after oil and Gas, in their GDP template it provides over 36% closely to oil and gas that does about 60% in an economy that is far bigger than ours.
You may be shocked that what Saudi earn from Tourism may be a close call to what you earn from oil, based on that, Saudi has a higher chance of divestment than Nigeria, please use facts not conjectures.

That said, even with the crisis at hand, a president and economic team who knows what he is doing would have navigated his way out of this with less casualty
But the president does not know what he is doing.
The situation at hand MUST take as many casualties as possible, no economic team including OPEC could do better. The Highest OPEC /world producer Saudi for the first time in 10 years is experiencing their biggest budget deficit, The Russian Ruble (second largest producer in the world) has seen its worst devaluation in history in the last year so what do you expect of Buhari's team that eludes Saudi, Russia, Venezuela and Iran?
Once you build your economy on oil and oil price drops, your economy is Fvcked, no economic team can save you, my position is echoed by the economic imbroglio of our oil producing competitors on the Global stage so what are you insulting Buhari for? Is Buhari the president of all the countries I mentioned?

First, he took too long to build up his cabinet, leaving the economy in a state of policy flux. No foreign investor likes that. They need to know the policy direction you are taking, And your target variables too, but since you did not have that, the rating agencies downgrade you, and in addition to potential investors not coming, those who are already here looked for a way out, leading to the worst capital flight in 15 years...... The ASI over the last year would show you that (of you are a sincere economist) Not to forget the budget wahala and the impasse he has with the Legislature.
Unguarded nonsense!! Politically motivated statement let me help you!! the constitution of Nigeria provides that your important economic team will compose of VP, Director of National planning, CBN Gov, Finance minister, the only important member absent at the time was just the Finance minister whom by constitutional provision is in charge of Fiscal policies (Government spending). The Issue bedeviling our economy at the time was basically Forex shortages ( monetary policy) the core responsibility of the CBN governor who we had sitting at the time.
If you sincerely believe that her absence will deter investors from coming in simply shows your lack of clout and critical thinking. Any investor who refused to come then will not come now or perhaps have no money to invest. What did Buhari do to you?

The foreign reserves we have to back up the naira was made up of more than 40% portfolio investments, but because of these cluelessness, they had to pull out.
(And by the way, many people we call foreign investors are actually Nigerians in the diaspora, and they play a key role in the forex inflows into the country, as they have a big stake in the market)
Tell me this is a joke!! the so called portfolio investors how have they helped your economy? except the guys who play around your stock market, the rest are charge and bail speculators who maintain zero physical presence meaning they create no employment, no payee income to the government and most importantly they buy up our Bonds at high interest rates, they are Blood suckers in the real sense of the economy, giving them 40% is a joke.

At a time when the financial market crumbled while crude price remained relatively fair, why didn't we notice their disappearance?
Yet Crude price dropped and the economy imploded, bros, this economy is practically sitting on oil even a child knows that.
By the way, you have no idea who our foreign investors are if you think they are just Nigerians in Diaspora who make remittances.

So when the government has already made this blunder, you expect a peg on the naira to just miraculously work at keeping inflation at bay? Even when there was a peg, the naira was doing 330-353 already, so what are you saying?
And the peg was discouraging investors and those who send remittances because why would the CBN buymy dollars by force at 199, only for me to get it back at 300 plus? That is madness.
I see no blunder, the only thing I see is your inability to learn how the economy works. Buying your dollars at 199 and selling it to you 330 is called economic necessity, it is the condition of your economy that defines your policy direction.
Why does your bank take loan from CBN at 7% and give to you at 21%
Why does your bank give you fixed deposit at 4.5%pa and buy TB at 17%Pa with your money?
Why do you have 1% interest rate in the US and Japan but 21% in Nigeria?
Why do you have TB interest rate of 17% pa in Nigeria while you have 0.3% in the US?

The answer is; Economic necessity, it did not favor you neither did it favor me but guess what; it was for the general good, Africans are too selfish to be taken seriously, every interest group wants to be accommodated as if the Government is a Bonanza, interest groups make so much noise in the media calling themselves experts, putting unnecessary pressure on the government for pecuniary reasons, do you now understand why Buhari excluded the private sector from his economic team? He doesn't trust that they will not steer Govt policies to suit their individual purpose.
Now that you have bridged the gap what next? the huge naira you are given for each dollar you exchange has soared inflation by another 2.5%, manufacturers who are already choked with huge interests rate now have expensive forex to contend with, where they can not, they increase the price of their goods which will lead to low patronage, that will lead to staff layoff and eventual closure, is that really what you want?

As for you insulting my background, lol.....
I'll just let that slide.
Naa, Your background is rusty, trust me on that.

Now listen, Ugosample is right. The CBN and FG were forced to introduced flexibility forex policy because of continuous depletion of our 'foreign reserves' used to offset deficit caused by fixed foreign exchange rate.
Yes this was what I thought but the CBN is yet to admit that so let's stick to what we know, unless I am chatting with Emiefele, then i will agree with you, if the CBN has lost completely their ability to fix the naira, why adopt dirty float against free float?

Dirty float requires your intervention in the money market periodically so what has really changed? the CBN still maintains a foreign reserve account unlike the free float where you don't need a reserve account, your exchange rate is determined strictly by demand and supply.
SO you see, the fact that the CBN adopted dirty float means they still have some reasonable reserve left, the only thing it achieved was closing the gap between the official rates and the parallel market which is not really a big deal considering where we find ourselves.

The same Fx required to intervene in a dirty float is exactly what you require to fix the naira, so what has changed?
If you have FX shortages, you remove more sectors from the CBN list while maintaining local manufacturing, it is that simple!!

The downside is that manufacturers have lost their access to cheaper forex which shot up inflation, remember that these manufacturers are already disadvantaged by the fact that the banks are killing them with high interest rate already, Bros!! Buhari was right.

If the FG had agreed to flexibility forex policy before global risks increased to the level last seen in 1999 due to Brexit, it would have worked because as at then foreign and local investors were still very interested in Nigeria market, because one, our GDP growth rate was better than most emerging economies but now it has dropped consecutively. Hence, they refused because experts are forecasting 400 by December.
It is mere speculation you can't be so sure, I heard from an investor who said he is more concerned about the unrest in the Niger delta than the Fx risk.

And to worsen the situation, global economics is nosedive amid huge uncertainties, so why chasing people that may never come when you can as well focus on the masses, lower rates to create jobs, reduce unemployment and encourage the diversification this administration emphasized when they first came in ?
How can you create jobs when your policy is parking up your manufacturing sector? Didnt you notice that while everything increased in price in the market, Beer never did, did you bother to find out why? By next week NBL will be forced to adjust prices or lay off staff in the worse case scenario, Buhari knew what he was saying, devaluation was never the answer.

Even with the peg, wasmt the dollar already 350+?
The man is clueless, simple and short
At the peg, inflation was lower because manufacturers had access to cheaper Fx, the only challenge was round tripping which is easy to control, if Nigerian breweries need to buy hops from Netherland, CBN will pay the hop company directly at 199 to a dollar, that way, Nigerian Brewery will not divert cheap forex, that is what Buhari wanted and that in my opinion is the real deal.
The cheap fx will guarantee lower production cost and make the products more affordable reducing inflation. This is common sense bro!!
Buhari was right.

Ifeanyi uba offered to help the country over this naira freefall citing that the problem is indeed 60% political and 40% economical . But what happened, they ignored his opinion and even threatened him with corruption charges.... In a salient society , ifeanyi would have been appointed by the presidency itself and so many big grammar speaking professor of economics would have been asked to serve under him. Baba, I hale your methods, for the result speaks for it.
Ask yourself, if Ifeanyi Uba had the solution, why is he not helping his company from bad debt? These are AGIPs who are looking for the least excuse to be part of the ruling class at all cost, presumably to be shielded from corruption charges.
I am shocked he could play on your sensibilities.

and you don't see several job creation? Lower interest rates to create jobs and attack unemployment in order to increase consumer spending and boost manufacturing sector.

So you are telling me, an economist, that I have no clue about how the economy works? Lol.
So tell me, are you an economist yourself? I bet not.
The KEY reason why this mess is happening is because the dullard in chief knows nothing about how the economy works, and the Finance minister is incompetent, and lastly, policy somersault.
A successful brick layer has more economic relevance than you in the scheme of things even with your paper Economics certificate from an under funded charge and bail Nigeria university or polytechnic. You should be ashamed to tell me you are an economist while you wield the opinion of a tailor.

Buharinomics was tried and tested, fix the currency, give it cheap to manufacturers to spur growth then allow the toothpick importers to face the parallel market.
Emiefelenomics devalued and bridged the gap, raw materials and equipment manufacturing have no access to cheap forex anymore, cost of manufacturing soared which led to high cost of both Local and imported products, worsened inflation yet no foreign and local investor in sight.

In the scheme of things, Buhari (the illiterate) is winning the Phd wielding Emiefele, it is not by paperwork, it is by experience, Buhari has experienced economic downturn in 1985, that is the experience Emiefele doesn't have.

when you talk about money from the FG it makes me wonder where these monies come from..is it not from the same niger delta which has been marginalized from time immemorialhuh...let the FG come for a talk..if they insist that the niger delta pay for the oil assets i wonder what we would be asking from the FG fpor the spillages their negligence has caused over a long period of time in the niger delta...or if they want we can allow them take monies accrued from oil proceeds for a period of time until payments are complete and then we have total control of the resources in the niger delta...
You seem to be missing the point, Niger delta has oil, it takes investments to extract oil that is what the Niger delta people don't have and the FG has it. Before the FG will compensate you for spillages, you will first of all determine the amount of environmental degradation caused by Sabotage (bombing, Bunkery and Kpo fire) right?
Does it surprise you that UNEP a united nations agency (neutral) came to the Niger delta and authorized only Ogoni clean up, why not Bile and the rest of the Niger delta? so the United nations is equally stup!d? Ogoni is the only part of the Niger delta that deserves a legitimate clean up ( I guess you are conversant with the Ogoni story) the rest are liabilities of the Niger delta for the rest of their generations, you don't blow up a trunk line carrying 250k bbls of crude and expect no consequence. The UNEP report of 2010 proved that the world no longer take agitation that threatens the environment seriously.

the truth is regionalism would be a whole lot different from what just individuals are doing...regionalism would ensure states run their affairs to the benefit of the indigenes...private companies wont do that precisely...
You are wrong, that is the Niger delta politician's mentality, two things give you petrodollars, having an oil acreage and secondly making the required investments. The land use act of Nigeria bestowed land in the hands of the FG which is not a bad idea anyways, the only bad thing in the Delta is that the Niger delta people (Individuals, companies and government) refuse to make oil and gas investments yet expect to reap the proceeds there in, that is a crime against the sensibility of the rest of the people who pay tax to the FG, I speak to you that there is no part of the world it happens.
Regionalism is not necessary in Nigeria we have out grown that level, the only people still crazy about it are greedy thieves who want to reap from where they did not sow, let me paint an analogy of what a Niger deltan calls regionalism.
He grabs a republic/region, the republic will define its borders then take everything therein, that is stealing, Venezuela nationalized foreign oil companies and today they are begging for food. Zimbabwe took lands and investments of foreign companies their economy disappeared, remember that Ven and Zim did it to companies and their destiny was changed forever, imagine what will happen to you if you do it to a country? by United nations standard, the international arbitration court will step in and as soon as the verdict is against you it becomes an act of WAR!!
What happened to Nigeria when Cameroon won us at the Hague? Ignorance is not a virtue, most of you need an in depth knowledge of how the real world works before you bite more than you can chew. South sudan's export pipeline passed through N.sudan, when they split, N.sudan asked the South to pay for it or give them 70% of their export, the South refused, North stationed their military and cut off South sudan's oil export, today South Sudan is officially declared a refugee state, that is how the real world works my friend.

besides individuals can invest in the niger delta to produce oil whilst the resource predominantly controlled by the states..individuals would even buy the assets of the Federal government..all we want is that monies from oil does not feed lazy people elsewhere who at the end of the day come back to abuse the niger delta...let each state manage what they have...e no hard the way you dey make am seem...
If individuals can buy acreages why not the State governments? If Delta state Government owned the Forcados export Pipeline will it be bombed? if a Bayelsan consortium owned the Brass export line, will it be bombed? you can see that the problem here is that some Lazy people (like you called them) wake up in the morning and ask the FG to bequeath her investments to them, can't you see this is why successive governments hardly listen to them. Will Shoprite/MTN dash you his buildings simply because they are operating in your country? the two companies can cause a diplomatic row with Nigeria that can degenerate to arm struggle, you guys have no clue how it works elsewhere.

people would buy FG assets..the FG can go to hell
Nine oil blocks was divested in the last 5yrs how many did "Niger delta People" buy? The FG has nothing to lose if you buy it because his royalty is fixed.
In the Divested oil blocks, igbos bought the most, is it not what these miscreants are bombing today?
