1) Is a University college the same as a University.?
2) Are their curriculars the same.?
3) What is the objective of a University College and the objective of a University.?
4) Are the objectives similar.?
5) What year were the University colleges established established.?
6) Why did Awolowo ,Azikwe , Nkrumah etc school overseas.?
Do your research again before talking
Stop making blind arguments before you mis inform feeble minds; The term university college is used in a number of countries to denote institutions that offer tertiary education but do not have full or independent university status. A university college is often part of a larger university.
University college Ibadan was modelled after Cambridge, once that is done, the later became a university college because it doesn't have its own status hence under the "cover" of cambridge. It is the same cambridge degree they were awarded, ask your father, he must have taken the cambridge entrance exam to study in UCI in the 50's, paid tuition to Cambridge even awarded cambridge certified degrees. overall, University college is the same thing with a university just the status that is affected not curriculum nor the degree, a typical example is what we call satellite campuses here.
Zik and Awolowo studying abroad has nothing to do with the status of any institution, if they can afford it why not? Listen; Zik was 48yrs when UCI started, before UCI got its accreditation for Zik's course, Zik would have been 52yrs, do you expect him to start pursuing a university career at 52yrs just to school in UCI? Zik na your mate? that dude was born in 1904 at a time when the missionaries were still finding their feet in Nigeria, stop comparing apples with oranges.
OrlandoOwoh: The British colonial government built universities in West Africa. University College, Ibadan, Nigeria and the University College, Legon, Ghana were built.
mrvitalis: Can a nurse surpass a doctor in the hospital career?? HND holder has a very limited knowledge and can never replace an engineer A welding engineer can never be replaced by a welding Technologist... Even in the oil industry it is observed
Most servicing companies place Bsc and Hnd in tandem, it is only JV producing companies that discriminate in the oil industry, however, I think theirs is understandable because both do different jobs, again i have another feeling that it is still the Nigerian bureaucracy that crept into these companies after all, Nigeria still holds 60% of the JVs in most producing companies.
ConqueredWest: Ojukwu never studied Science Engineering or Technology. If I can remember clearly, he studied an Art related course.
He established that college because he knew the importance of Science Engineering and Technology in helping Nigeria achieve self sufficiency after he saw how dependant we were on British products when he was in charge of buying equipments for the army.
At first, he tried to buy military equipments from other countries which earned him British hatred but later saw that even buying from other countries leaves Nigeria at the mercy of Foreign powers.
This made him realised that for Nigeria not to be at a disadvantage, we must be self sufficient.
Now those who went to get the curricular , did not know this difference. For this reason, I believe they never took the complete curricular or they were not shown the complete curricular in order to prevent another Japanese miracle spring up in Africa.
Mrvitalis ,OrlandoOwoh and you should ask yourselves why did the Whites never built a university in Africa excluding South Africa.
If they could deliberately refused to build Universities, why will they give you a complete curricular.
Who built UI? American University in Cairo was built by who? American international University West Africa in Gambia was built by who? British university in Cairo nko?
Nigeria was a British colony and they modelled UI, OAU and UNILAG's curriculum after Cambridge's, brought Cambridge Professors to run it, what was the need building more? what was the population of Nigeria and interest in education at the time? was it not the time when communities contribute for one of them to go to higher institution? It is complete fallacy to say they deliberately refused to build universities, in my own opinion, they left us in a hurry, the reason SA was quintessential to your warped analogy is because they stayed longer in SA than other African countries.
jlinkd78: U v started with una usual divide and rule mindset games. The Biafrans are now wiser. Look at Yakaasi now crying more than d bereaved and appearing to be empathic to d true feelings of d Igbos and by extrapolation d Biafrans. Why we appreciate Ur advise with d regards to our saboteur brethren; we wud want it to stop at that cos we now know better how to deal with d situation. Ur pseudo sympathy is at best all aimed at making d nation of d rising sun look gloomy whereas in reality u guys are scared stiff of d El dorado prospects it promises. Thanks for d honest part u reiterated about d hardworking and survivability instincts of d 5%er. If this is your bait to keep us back in this failed contraption called Nigeria then it has fallen like a pack of cards. Buhari is daily being a catalyst in this chain reaction and we encourage his nepotism to 'kwontinuo'.
It is only a capital one f00l will think Biafra holds Eldorado prospects. You unlettered drum heads are bringing disgrace and embarrassment to igbos who have brains.. where will you get forex to balance trade to sustain over 16 major markets in the southeast? where will you get electricity from? what happens to your properties in Nigeria? you guys should stop embarrassing igbos with your buffoonery.
Adaure4ever: I saw a thread about IPOBs calling Victor Attah "Clueless", I was raged with disappointment on how these "nnamdi kanu faithful" are busy embarrasing the Igbo Race with their Undiplomatic and Insultive "take it or leave it" dictatorial strategy. -Victor Attah a respect figure is what these Touts call "clueless" because Of his opinion, Is it by Force to join Biafra? Why are these ipob people embarrasing many hardworking Igbos who don't support Ipobs? Even Ojukwu would never have supported Nnamdi Kanu. The insultive nature of these ipobs is nauseating, they lack diplomacy and are just jokers. Now Let me make it clear to them that. Urhobos, Ogoni, Kalabari, Isokos, Benin, Ijaws, Itsekiri, Efiks, Ibibios etc, ARE NOT INTERESTED IN BIAFRA. If Nigeria divides, each tribe will be on their own Igbo Leaders are not in support of these suicidal agitation, They want a Restructured Nigeria. IPOBs do not speak for IGBOS. I APOLOGIZE to Dr.Victor Obong Attah for any insult he may have received from this undisciplined elements called IPOBs. - South South minorities have said NO to Biafra, what are you ipobs going to do now? Insulting and Harrasing them. This is Africa! There MUST be a War In Every Seccesion, No One is going to grant you any damn refrendum. Are the Igbos ready for any Progrom or war? Whats wrong with you IPOBs? - A Restructured Nigeria is what Igbos Want. NDEWO NU- Adaure4ever
IPOB said Nigeria forced them in a marriage yet they think the way out of that marriage is to drag another unwilling Niger delta into another forced marriage,i dey laugh
Now that you have devalued, has it guaranteed forex inflow? now that devaluation has pushed inflation to a whooping 15% is it better now? There are three ways to approaching a problem, managing it when the factors are not right, solving it outrightly if the factors are right or leaving it the way you met it. Buhari's position on devaluation can not be faulted except for people like you who have access to foreign currencies or the likes of Prof Utomi who has bought Nigerian bonds, absent these, devaluation has never been for the greater good. To straighten the record, Nigeria did not "DEVALUE" the naira. Nigeria allowed the Naira to "FLOAT" which results in devaluation, however one should question why the CBN chose to float over devaluation, the answer is simple. Devaluation require you adjust your benchmark and peg your currency at a position still supported by forex from National reserves, for CBN to choose float against devaluation means that they have completely lost their ability to fix the naira due to sustained lower crude price and production cut aka bombings, not necessarily that they are listening to selfish people like you.
Rossikk: Thanks for reminding us of the great Sphinx of Giza, a massive monument built by black Africans thousands of years ago when the whites you worship were cave-dwelling savages. I bet you think your white masters built it, since you are a brainwashed slave who sucks white dck for breakfast. Just pray they don't destroy our world with their foolishly built nuclear weapons capable of destroying us all, including themselves. One more thing. The whites cannot exist on earth for a single week without the existence of Africans. So they can never attempt to destroy Africa. Unless you think millions of pampered whites are prepared to come to Africa to extract in the hot sun the millions of tons of raw materials and natural resources needed to power their economies. Ignoramus.
You sound as if Africa is the only source of raw materials, listen, Silicon Valley depend more on Chinese raw materials than Africa, go figure. I am not a white @rse licker, very far from it but the black man must accept defeat, accept failure, re strategize and bounce back. The sphinx of Giza was built by ancient civilization and so what? what does a statue contribute to the scheme of things today? why depend on a white man to fly from Cairo to Alexandria if your Sphinx is good enough, give me a break!!
NextGovernor: Anybody that opens his/her mouth to say this government is fighting corruption is an enemy of this nation.
God why did you give us this kind of change? Era where all the activist, government critics are all silent irrespective of the calamity going on. Inflation everyday and nobody seems to complain or protest instead they are protesting for irrelevant Remi Tinubu.
It is only a dolt that sees request for money and assume the money was paid, disbursed and misappropriated, how do you see yourself in the society knowing how empty you are?
boostdom: Uranium, used as nuclear fuel in a nuclear reactor, is a very complex radioactive element and is very difficult to produce and refine. A week training for nuclear practitioners and security officers in the country on the extraction, exploitation and utilisation of the substance is laughable and grossly inadequate. The right term is "sensitization". The simplest nuclear reactor design available now takes nothing less than 3years to build and the technology is high intellectual property.
Uranium is very unstable to one radius and you need not just the physics knowledge and the mechanical skills but high precision control labs.
We should be looking at renewable energy not radioactive fission. Nuclear reactor engagement is not a one week Management retreat.
fayemi is just keeping buhari's hopes alive, he has no clue what Radioactivity entails, thought he will mention the cost implication for a broke Govt.
Rossikk: Ignorant dunce. Where do I start with you? Self hater. It must be such a burden waking up every day and feeling inferior. But I guess you are used to it. I only pity your kids and the debilitating mental poison you'll feed them, and they'll end up hating themselves and feeling inferior like their pathetic father. As for your ignorant question about ''successful 100% black countries", you should use your brain, and realize that Africa is a developing region. It is no shame to be in development. 80 years ago there was no "successful 100% white country". They were all developing, with mass poverty and illiteracy the order of the day, from England to Czechoslovakia. Go and read Dickens, so you can learn that these whites you worship like a stup.id slave were once among the poorest people in the world. And it took them several centuries of independence to reach their present point. When black nations have had the same time to run their affairs, THEN you can make comparisons. Not before.
Africa is a developing region since the Sphinx of Giza, it takes a white man to tell you what you must do to stop developing, continue developing till the white man comes. it is only a shameless individual will admit he hasn't the chance to run his affairs yet claim equals with the man who is holding him hostage. Self denial doesn't help anyone, the white man made you, he only can destroy you if he so desires, you are only living by his mercy.
Bros the Tainos who own the Bahamas were not Black people, secondly, 90% of the Bahamas population are made of African slaves and United states Aboriginal Seminoles. The blacks are slave guests to the seminoles so bros, Bahama is not a black country.
Bermuda.
Britain run Bermuda till date, the Blacks have no clue how success comes and leaves Bermuda only the British does.
Barbados.
Elliot Belgrave represent who in Barbados politics? Black indeed
Botswana.
This must be a joke right? the Diamond industry of botswana the source of their wealth, is colonised by white South Africans and you think the Black knows shit about their success? give me a break!! By the way, Botswana is the population of ojota, that should qualify as a black community not country.
Gabon.
You called Gabon a successful country? are you ok? a country that can not afford a central bank you call successful? A country whose president take orders from France you call successful?
harveyspec: there are customer complaints in each zone, there are NERC forums in most states, if not all
the issue is nothing seems to be working!
you make complaints at the disco office, you are supposed to escalate to NERC, if not resolved satisfactorily
you go through all of this & yet nothing is done about your complaints.
there are wonderful rights of the consumer on paper, on ground, it's a far cry
has NERC been bought over by the DISCO's?
Can you guess know how electricity supply will change if Fashola reforms just NERC and metering alone? the problem I have with clowns like Fashola is that they seem to be in the same party with the president but they have no idea how Buhari thinks, when Buhari was telling us about change, we all knew his idea of change is pursuing thieves, he is actually relying on numbskulls like fashola to bring about their technocrat experience for the "other change" oblivious that Fashola himself has no clue. PHED can not spend 100k to fix anything in any transformer in my neighborhood, we have to contribute for everything, yet Fashola had the temerity to grant them new tariff without providing meters. they extort you through estimated billing and allow your sub station to decay because they have absolutely nothing to lose, How is it difficult to give everyone a meter? if you don't fix the damn transformer, you will have no revenue, that way you will understand that the reason most places are in darkness is because the power companies have nothing to lose. the thunder that will Fire Fashola is still on road walk!!
ATERI: Which other Continent(s) of this world ever experienced enslavement for over 300 years? You don`t think this matters? Another way of putting it is to ask you which black nations had ever gone to the West to steal their resources for development?
A man who legally steals from you is clearly smarter than you, don't you think so? sorry I forgot, "equals" won't you say?
Huasamafia1: Shut up until Aisha haliburton n burantashi is areast APC n bubu are just poo
You are now talking as if the politician in question is your father, you see your life? his kids that will inherit the alleged loot will read your post in a private jet and laugh at your stupidity, look around the environment where you typed this nonsense from and give me two reasons why you should not exchange your brain with gala? It doesn't matter which political divide you support, the sad news is that you are a fvcking nobody in the scheme of things, the politicians don't give a fvck about your miserable squalor, electricity or not. Get that into your hire purchased skull. Stop making cases for them, politicians are not your friends.
I give thanks to God that I am free after 67 days in detention. I thank my wife lawyers children and friends for all their support. This was the worst experience of my life but God was with me all the way. I suffered immeasurably but I count it all as joy. I am innocent of all charges and I look forward to defending myself vigorously in court.
These charges are politically motivated and I have been severely punished for my political views and criticisms of the government. They are trying to silence me, break me, discredit me and destroy but as long as Jesus is on the throne this will never work. I am strong and I am bold and the struggle will continue.
Politicians always running to Nigerians when the chips are down, imagine Kayode whose loins have no control talking about Jesus? EFCC can turn Oshiomole to Bianca with Buhari on the throne
zubbyman: The South-East and South-South lawmakers have called on the Federal Government to review the ownership structure of oil wells in the country to allow for at least, 65 per cent ownership by the people of the Niger Delta region. The South- South and South-East states Houses of Assembly stated this when they rose from their inaugural joint session at the weekend in Owerri, Imo state.
The joint session had in attendance speakers and deputy speakers of Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu and Imo states. They held that contrary to the present ownership structure where less than 10 percent of the oil blocks are owned by their people, the South-East and South-South people should possess at least 65 percent of the oil wells.
They stressed that this would facilitate rapid development of the region as the region’s development, according to them, is being hindered by the present payment mode of derivative oil funds.
At your God given old ages, is it not wisdom to advise your people to make oil and gas investments or oil blocks produce oil by fart? You can not talk about investment, you just want to own the block, spit!!
Mr Fashola, the biggest mistake you made in the power sector is increasing tariff without mandating the power companies to provide meters. That incompetence will prove in the end you have no idea how the power game is played. How can you a Fashola not have public complaints units for all the zones as a regulator in such a sensitive ministry and you say you are doing things differently, Nnaji had more results in a shorter time with less stories, better bring him back and hold on to works ministry alone, power is just not your calling as it totally belongs to God
Rossikk: You lack a working brain. Propagating discredited racist GARBAGE propounded by semi literate rednecks, skinheads, the Ku Klux Klan, and neo Nazis. Why not just go and post on their satanic forums instead of coming here to insult your mother and father by calling them racially inferior? If you are a black man you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself. You are essentially saying that whites are right to discriminate against blacks - against you and your offspring - in the job market and elsewhere, due to your supposed "low IQ". I mean, are you sick in the head or something?
Arent those white supremacist organizations there because blacks like you left their homelands to lick their scrotum? The guy you have in quote said the honest truth, a black man want to feel equal with a white man when he knows he lacks the fundamentals of humanity. It is not Racism, it is plain honesty, for SA to get to where it is today, the whites had to lock the blacks in cages to make progress. Can you mention a successful 100% black society in the world?
amakoro: THE Niger Delta Avengers has gladly welcomed the Saudi Arabia Blackwater machineries. A spokesperson for the militants said “Blackwaters you are welcome to your grave, only death awaits you".
It would be recall that President Buhari may have struck a $258 million deal with the Saudi Arabia ‘Blackwater’ military contractor to help the Nigerian Armed Forces in fighting militants in the oil-rich Niger Delta region in the southern part of Nigeria.
According to a website, Vaxity, a staff of the Royal Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Nigeria confirmed the deal which is “part of the agreement in the Saudi-led Sunni Islamic coalition against terrorism” which President Buhari signed up for on behalf of Nigeria.
The COIN deal Nigeria made with Saudi Arabia is with GCC nations not defence contractors, Blackwater corporation have changed their name to "Academi" as a result of the scandal they had in Iraq BTW that is a 100% American establishment, these NDA's are just as ignorant as the IPOBastards roaming the threads of Nairaland, Expect the Saudi defense forces not defence contractors, ie if you dumbos know the difference. Are these not the PMC loadouts? mtchew, ignorant !diots
Oluwalosheleyi: Your negative sentiments and dirty language clearly describes you sir.Someone of your self-acclaimed intelligence should know I am only against the unfair and uneven treatment of some people in Nigeria, I am against the disparity in treatment, shouldnt farmers be protected like the herdsmen?check how many farmers where mauled down by herdsmen and rethink.Poor megalomaniac.
When you are mentally challenged, you are not supposed to know what is fair and what is not right?
Oluwalosheleyi: My mum heard this news on the radio and she told me about it so I decided to look it up on google and I was like "what the...why would he deploy 1000 soldiers to protect cows when over 1000 innocent people had been killed by fulani herdsmen? without establishing a millitary task force to address their issue?" Verily Verily I say unto you, we might be witnessing the beginning of a climax here.I can clearly see and interpret the infallible signs. The pregnant eagle is about to give birth and her birth pains are great.Behold! the marraige of inconvenience is about to be dissolved. Sorry I couldn't add the link but thank God for the radio and the internet, please just listen to news or google it up to confirm.
War against cattle rustlers means protecting cattle? war against car snatchers means protecting cars!! War against rapists means protecting toto? and whose mandate is it to protect lives and property, your father? Seun, I don't know how you did it but whatever you did that opened the floodgates of !diots in this forum must be reversed, how can a site have so many mentally challenged individual and still rank 8th in the whole country? Is it possible that majority of Nigerians including this nonentity I am quoting is mentally challenged?
Number 8 is Bullocks Philip won the Gordon bell award for supercomputing as an individual contestant against IBM who had a faster clock speed but as a group. IBM eventually got the Patent not Philip. That was in 1986 folks this is 30yrs on, the fastest computer in the world is a Chinese patent.
Number 12 is Bullocks; The United Nations security council did not ignore the crisis in Liberia and Sierra leone as a matter of fact, they ended it despite the 9yrs Nigeria spent there looting. Sierra leone has more Gold deposits than the Gold coast, only a lunatic will think western intervention is primarily because of oil deposits.
Eketem: It seems Oluremi Tinubu is no stranger to fighting and insulting people on the floor of the Senate. This video shows her in 2014 abusing and almost fighting Senator Musiliu Obanikoro while he graciously ignores her and even bows in respect and walks away.
Women who want to act like Oluremi should understand that not every man will keep quiet, some like Dino would soundly abuse you in return
idupaul: Obasanjo and Jonathan were proposed 10 naira for the RFMAC to suggest 7.50k show it has been deliberated with the presidency ..it will certainly be increased by Buhari..remember that there is a 50 tax on most bank transactions these days that is not even being accounted for .how can I hate a man I campaigned and voted for ..his incompetence just irritates me these days..the man won't achieve nothing
I can't make out anything from what you wrote, are you epileptic?
