CNN/CBN/Local Stations/Newspaper Reports all show that BH members still kill people almost on a daily basis and all you can think of is to defend Buhari.
Are we talking about Buhari here or about the lives of thousands of Nigerians lost to the BH insurgents?
Some people can be so insensitive. Boko haram kill people daily including yourself I guess? |

Written by Our ReporterJune 21, 2016
The United States has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has all it needs to prosecute all those implicated in the Halliburton scandal including Mrs. Aisha M. Buhari who allegedly wired $170,000.00 in bribe to disgraced Congressman Williams J. Jefferson in 2002.
A 16-count indictment, returned by a federal grand jury in Alexandria, Va., charged Jefferson with solicitation of bribes from Nigeria and other places, honest services wire fraud, money laundering, obstruction of justice, violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, racketeering, and conspiracy.
The indictment alleges that from in or about August 2000 through in or about August 2005, Jefferson, while serving as an elected member of the U.S. House of Representatives, used his position and his office to corruptly seek, solicit and direct that things of value be paid to Jefferson and his family members in exchange for his performance of official acts to advance the interests of people and businesses who offered him the bribes.
The U.S Justice Department had at the time requested the EFCC through a letter with Ref: MEW:DPW:KDL:AV 1 File 182.23818 dated June 22, 2006 to investigate Mrs. Aisha M. Buhari and several others linked with bribing Congressman Jefferson.
Mrs. Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, Dumebi Kachikwu, Otunba Fashawe, Aliyu Maigari and others were named in a long chain of Nigerian and American bribe takers that spirited about $45 million—for a technology transfer deal—to the US between 1996 and 2002.
Atiku, chairing of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, then, was, alongside US Congressman Williams J. Jefferson, Siemens, Halliburton, and others, indicted in a U.S. Senate report sent to the EFCC for investigation in 2006.
Peter Carr, Spokesman of the DOJ confirmed the Sentencing memo of Jefferson which indicted Aisha M. Buhari, Abubakar Atiku and others but declined to speak further on the issue in an email to Pointblanknews.com.
“Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ll decline to comment beyond what is referenced in the sentencing memorandum,” Carr said in an email to Pointblanknews.com.
A source in DOJ told pointblanknews.com that because Jefferson is currently appealing some of his convictions, DOJ may not want to comment further on the matter.
The Sentencing Memorandum obtained byPointblanknews.com from the U.S District Court Eastern District of Virginia listed as exhibit, a wire transfer to Congressman Jefferson from an account owned by Aisha M. Buhari.
“…See also Government Exhibits 36-87 (6/26/02 $170,000 wire
transfer from account in Nigeria in the name of Aisha Buhari to an account in the name of The ANJ Group, LLC, identifying “William Jefferson” as Beneficiary), Government Exhibits 36-90
and 36-91 (11/28/03 $50,000 wire transfer from account in British Virgin Islands in the name of Dawson Creek Traders to an account in the name of Jefferson Interests, Inc.),” the 37page sentencing memo said on its page 22.
Curiously, since President Mohammadu Buhari was elected President, the first lady has never followed him to his numerous U.S trips. At the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, she rather sent the wife of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to represent her at the First Lady’s Conference of UNGA.
Sources told pointblanknews.com that even though Jefferson is currently serving Jail time, those linked to his crime are still being sort after for questioning.
The source confirmed that while Mr. Kachikwu offered to testify against Jefferson, Mrs. Buhari was nowhere to be found during the FBI probe of the matter, reason why she has stayed away from the U.S.
The U.S Senate report, FBI reports and U.S Court papers on the allegations have remained in the coolers of the EFCC as the agency appears to be lacking the political will to carrying on the prosecution.
U.S Investigators had in 2006 asked the EFCC to investigate Bank records of accounts held by Hajiya Aisha M. Buhari from January, 2001, to present, including, but not limited to, accounts at Citizen International Bank, Plot 130, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. The bank records should include documents relating to any wire transfers of $10,000 or more.
Although the Presidency through a text message to Pointblanknews.com by Mallam Garba Shehu said the Aisha M. Buhari is not the same as the President’s wife. U.S investigators said investigations by EFCC would identify the real Aisha M. Buhari named in the documents.
Shehu had also threatened to suePointblanknews.com should it publish the reports linking the first lady to the Halliburton/iGate scandal.
The FBI had also asked the EFCC to investigate:

Politics › Re: Buhari’s Dwindling Northern Domination Agenda Exposed In 23 Points by jpphilips(m): 10:11am On Jun 21, 2016 |
olatemitayo: Buhari’s Dwindling Northern Domination Agenda Exposed In 23 Points [MUST READ] By Ena Ofugara - Jun 19, 2016 General Muhammadu Buahri (centre) at an APC Presidential Campaign Rally in Kano State, Nigeria on January 19, 2015 | Juju Films 159 Shares 157 I t was supposed to be easy for Buhari’s Northern power bloc. The northern domination agenda was about to be fully unleashed on the country called Nigeria. The Ijaw man has been removed from Aso Rock and the Yoruba-Tinubu power cabal curtailed. The years of planning are over. It’s now time to execute and return the North to its pride of place and make ‘Alhaji’ and everything northern Nigerian ‘king’ again. Yes! The Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan years and the progress of Southerners must be reversed and the northernization policy of Ahmadu Bello is reborn. Here’s the plot – it’s supposed to be easy. 1. De-commission Boko Haram. Stop the killings in the North East. Grant Boko Haram members amnesty . Pour out billions, of crude oil money, into negotiating with the deadly sect , and declare the Boko Haram war over. Do this without actual battles in the field. 2. Run over to the World Bank and obtain a loan of $2.1 billion to develop the North East. 3. Set up a northern something development commission and use crude oil money and Value Added Tax (VAT) paid by Southerners from products like beer and whisky which, are banned in 19 Northern states because of Sharia Law , and fund the commission to develop the North. 4. Acquire, by executive fiat, for the Fulani grazing land all over the nation . Sponsor your other terrorist militia to carry out killings in the Middle Belt and Southern Nigeria. The killings will make Nigerians so scared, they would gladly welcome the joke of National Grazing Reserves as a solution to the bloodbath. 5. Use “anti-corruption” to ensure the money/capital of southern Nigerians are frozen and seized or hidden from use. Use Sambo Dasuki as the bait – get all southerners who did national security contracts to bring back the money, while leaving Hausa Fulani who benefitted from the security spending and the big guns in Yorubaland like Olu Faleye to go free. With their rich men scampering and in hiding, the southern economy dies. 6. Begun a wholesale and brazen appointments of Islamist Northerners in all positions. If it means bringing out people from retirement, do it. The North must be fully in charge of the key government agencies. 7. Secretly employ Northern youths in the Central Bank of Nigeria, Federal Inland Revenue Service, immigrations, police, military, and so many other agencies. 8. Throw in weak Yorubas into the government to shut them up. Like a Kemi for instance, she can be bossed around. Have Nasir El Rufai close-mark the Yoruba veepee. Not to worry about Igbos. They will sell their people over cheques that can bounce. Ask Ngige and Rochas. For the Niger Delta, close-mark the Central Bank boss since we cannot just remove him. And Kachikwu, hmmm. You know he knows the job. We should just keep watch closely. 9. Stop Southerners from getting dollars. Make sure only Dangote and neighbourhood money changers find dollars. Once we truly control the dollars, we control the nation. 10. Kill the Niger Deltans and their militants. Stop the Presidential Amnesty payments to ex-militants and stop payments to the people through the pipeline protection contracts. Pipeline protection jobs used to be given to Northerners, now it’s locals that do them. That cannot be allowed to continue. Secretly, return the contracts to Northerners, while flying the kite that it’s the Nigerian military taking over. Crude oil is a Fulani racket same as the medical drug business is an Igbo racket, and the Nigerian Stock Exchange is a Yoruba racket. Niger Deltans must be made to realise that the North owns the oil in their land. Find and possibly kill Tompolo. Use disgruntled militants in the Niger Delta to implicate Tompolo in one thing or the other. We must control everything! 11. Elevate Sharia to a national law. 12. Intensify the Jihad by kidnapping Southerners, then kill and impregnate them, indoctrinate them to accept Islam and increase Northern Muslim population. 13. Kill anyone who gathers in the name of Biafra. Capture Nnamdi Kanu and jail him without trial. It doesn’t matter what the courts say, keep him locked up and plot how he will never leave prison alive. It is not as if the Nnamdi Kanu has an army to fight the nation. It’s invigorating for Northerners to clamp down on Biafra. It helps them re-live the pogroms of the 60s and the slaughter of the Nigerian civil war. 14. Whatever you do, get the people to say SAI BUHARI and call him MR INTEGRITY even if nothing he has ever done in his life, from writing the basic WAEC examinations, to taking coups, to losing billions in every office, be it NNPC boss or PTF boss, to employing only his tribesmen to refusing, to publicly declare asset as promised, and so many other facts that show he has no integrity at all. Just always get people to shout, Sai Baba! And say Mr. Integrity. Yes, it was SUPPOSED to be easy. But the following happened: 1. The Agatu genocide and Enugu killings only turned Nigerians away from the idea of Fulanis settling in their ancestral land. So, it cancelled our National Grazing Reserve – our cover for the land Jihad. 2. Controlling the flow of dollars also meant that Nigeria’s international backers like the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, and other international financial institutions like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley turned their backs on Nigeria. 3. And what use is the dollar in the hands of Northern money changers when Igbos and other Nigerians cannot buy it and transfer it abroad to buy goods and services? 3. Then the unforeseen – while we were chasing Tompolo – the Niger Delta Avengers – emerged. So the quiet in the Niger Delta during the Jonathan years was a mirage… Militancy has returned with a vengeance and what it took the old age militants years to achieve, the new militants group have achieved them in a matter of weeks. Just like Boko Haram received so much sympathy from Northerners, the new age militants have strong sympathy from the Niger Deltans. In the information age, the age of the Internet, the drama is unfolding in the eyes of the media. It is now very dominant in the minds of Nigerians and the world that the Niger Delta is a powerful region in the country. They feed the country. It is now very clear that the amnesty programme put together by late President Musa Yar’Adua, which Northern elite hate him for, was a brilliant programme that saved Nigeria. Aboki power is no longer super power. 4. And the idea of Biafra just won’t go away. 5. And Dangote finds that with the rest of Nigeria in financial strangulation, there is no money to buy his flour, sugar, cement, juice, water, and macaroni. 6. And with Islamist Northerners in charge of the Nigeria Customs Service and other key parastatals, executing the northern domination agenda, Nigeria’s business sector is plummeting and with that comes reduced revenues. 8. Then Mother Nature (God, the Universe)… A wave of natural disasters hit tomatoes, maize and suddenly, the agriculture industry where Northerners dominate is in trouble. The old agriculture minister, Audu Ogbe surely didn’t help. Owning a big farm doesn’t make someone an agricultural expert, the North is beginning to learn. 9. And the increased poverty of the Southerner is beginning to reflect on their Northern neighbours too. No “free money” to go out for suya in the evening. No money to pay the Northerner living in the security gate. Nobody to patronise a Northerner working as a commercial cyclist. And so, while they think that, finally, Jonathan is out and they can “take back their country”, a few are already finding out that we are better off when we are all better off. Ena Ofugara studied law in the University of Benin for some years before leaving Nigeria for the United States where he is studying while working. He has a passion for Nigeria. He has a clear bias for his people of the Niger Delta and he believes the Nigerian system – justice, social, economic – is rigged against his people. So he became a social and political commentator to highlight this injustice. Connect with him on Facebook even if god disappointed you by not giving you a brain, I believe the one you have is not on hire purchase! |
Politics › Re: Harold Wilson Confession On Pre Nigeria Fraud by jpphilips(m): 9:11am On Jun 21, 2016 |
zeal22: The man Harold Smith is not new in Nigerian history. He is one of the architects of colonial foundation that midwife Nigerian independence in 1960.
I met him in a meeting three weeks ago where he opened up a bit about the lingering problem in Africa especially; Nigeria unbalanced protracted social political situations. We asked if he could make this known to the media. His response was “I am in my 80s now; I have agreed but in the past ‘they’ did not want me to say anything, but now I don’t want to go to my grave without telling the truth about the atrocities perpetrated in Africa by the colonialists.
Brothers and sisters; on Ben TV last Thursday, Harold Smith was on a program to reveal what went behind the scene before the independence. The Oxford University graduate had this to say about his role in Nigeria pre and after independence era.
‘Our agenda was to completely exploit Africa. Nigeria was my duty post. When we assessed Nigeria, this was what we found in the southern region; strength, intelligence, determination to succeed, well established history, complex but focused life style, great hope and aspirations… the East is good in business and technology, the west is good in administration and commerce, law and medicine, but it was a pity we planned our agenda to give power “at all cost” to the northerner. They seemed to be submissive and stupid of a kind. Our mission was accomplished by destroying the opposition at all fronts. The west led in the fight for the independence, and was punished for asking for freedom. They will not rule Nigeria!
Harold Smith confessed that the Census results were announced before they were counted. Despite seeing vast land with no human but cattle in the north, we still gave the north 55 million instead of 32 Million. This was to be used to maintain their majority votes and future power bid. He stated that the West without Lagos was the most populous in Nigeria at that time but we ignored that. The north was seriously encouraged to go into the military. According to him, they believe that the south may attend western education, but future leaders will always come from military background. Their traditional rulers were to be made influential and super human. The northerners were given accelerated promotions both in the military and civil service to justify their superiority over the south. Everything was to work against the south. We truncated their good plan for their future. “I was very sorry for the A.G; it was a great party too much for African standard. We planned to destroy Awolowo and Azikwe well, the west and the east and sowed a seed of discord among them”. We tricked Azikwe into accepting to be president having known that Balewa will be the main man with power. Awolowo has to go to jail to cripple his genius plans for a greater Nigeria.
However, Harold Smith justified the British agenda of colonialism in Nigeria, which he believed was originally to help build Africa after the ruins of slave trade, but lamented that the British only looked after themselves and not after Nigerian interest. The British really let Nigeria down. When I see Nigerian been accused of fraud and from what I saw on the streets of Lagos; the British were worst fraudsters.
Looking at the northern leaders now he said, “If they have any agenda in Nigeria at all, sadly it is only for the north, and nothing for Nigeria. He stated that the British look after the British people and this is so all over the world. He said the time has come now to see people of intelligent minds with an open and inclusive agenda for all Nigerians in power…people who will really look after Nigerians large population…but ”I still curiously and sorrowfully see now that the British has not let go of Nigeria…her wealth,. her potentials, her future. He opined that the Caucasian people now assert themselves as the keeper of the “New Age” keys. He therefore said that it is only logical for Europeans to maintain their position of power, scientific superiority, economic exploitation, they must continue to perpetuate their lies and falsehoods and this is the most unkindest cut of all in relation to Nigeria situation!
According to him, Nigeria, a great nation was crippled not because of military juntas or corrupt leaders alone but by the British and American fear of Nigeria great future. He confessed, “The fear of the place that will be our ‘dumping ground’ really occupied our minds”.
Some of the things he said were not new to Nigerians or to the whole world but hearing it from the horse’s mouth is quite revealing and established more reality zones. He finally submitted that the colonial masters have caused havoc while they were in Africa, and planted timed bombs when they finally left. What we see since independence, the administration of new internal colonial masters by fellow Nigerians holding sway in power is doing more damage to Nigeria. Instead of detonating the time bombs planted by the British, the north is planting mines.
He added that ‘It was my duty to carry out all of the above and I was loyal to my country. Nigerians should try to be loyal to their country leaders and followers alike. Love your country. You have got the potentials to be great again and the whole world knows this’.
I am sorry for the above evil done to Nigeria. I can’t say sorry enough……" Sense is pretty expensive in Africa |

How to build your own Power Supply
This simple 'How To do it yourself article' explains an interesting topic, how to convert your computer UPS into home Inverter.
If you own a desktop computer, you may have a UPS that can power your computer for 10-15 minutes after power failure.
The purpose of the UPS is to save your work and shutdown your computer properly to avoid potential data loss and hardware loss such as Hard disk of your computer.
Most of us always underestimate the potential of the computer UPS that sits beside your computer. The average computer UPS can deliver around 600VA, which is enough to power your low power appliances such as fan, tube light, computer, television, etc.
If you own more powerful UPS such as 1KVA you can power your home appliances more.
So how much can my computer UPS provide? 600VA means the apparent power, but the real power is 60% of specified value. In other words it provides 60% of the VA rating.
For example:
If you have 600VA UPS then 600VA x 0.6 = 360W maximum output.
If you have a 1KVA UPS then 1000VA x 0.6 = 600W maximum output.
If my computer UPS can provide this much power, then why does computer UPS only power 10-15 min?
This is because most of the computer UPS is only powered by 12V 7AH battery which is sitting inside the UPS.
To increase its backup time we need to connect a higher AH battery. The purpose of this article is to make a cost effective home Inverter from a computer UPS.
It works perfectly and I and a few friends have been using this for the past three years and still running...!!! Have you considered the charging time of this funny set up you are proposing? |

ericuzor: ….Says NDA’s fighting for freedom of enslaved people
By Emeka Mamah
ENUGU—The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has praised activities of the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, saying that they are fighting for the freedom of the enslaved people of the area by an oppressive Nigerian government.
This was contained in a statement, entitled, ‘IPOB supports our kith and Kin- the NDA,’ and jointly signed by the spokesmen of the organisation, Mr. Emma Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, yesterday.
The statement read in part: “We want to place it on record that IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has no connection with some groups who are claiming on the pages of the newspapers that they do not support our fellow freedom fighters – the NDA. We make reference to a particular group which is a well-known turncoat and its leader who has been bribed with oil blocks allocations in the oil-rich areas of Biafra land.
Militants This same compromised group is known to have started the ugly incidence of kidnapping in Biafra land with its members often used as thugs and hired killers for politicians in the country.
“The NDA had consistently stated that the release of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu is a precondition for any discussion with Nigeria. Unfortunately and disgracefully, the incompetent Nigerian government has swept this demand under the carpet while magnifying the notion of amnesty payments and resource control as reasons for the NDA‘s actions.
For the avoidance of doubt, the NDA is fighting for the freedom of the people of Biafra and not for amnesty payment or for resource control as some commentators would like to believe. When Biafra is finally liberated from the bondage called Nigeria, resources shall be controlled by the owners of the land where those resources are located.
“The incompetent Nigerian government should stop deceiving the entire world into believing that what the freedom fighters of NDA are demanding is resource control. Amnesty is associated with criminality and a people who are fighting for their freedom should not be unjustly termed criminals.
“The notion and talk about amnesty for our own freedom fighters, the NDA, is a misnomer and should be taken out of any discourse. On the contrary, amnesty should be granted to the Nigerian government, especially to those from the criminal class masquerading as elite, who unjustly appropriated oil and gas wells and other resources in Biafra land to themselves and their cohorts to the detriment of the masses.”

On 29th May barely 2 weeks after the NCTL bombing, the Vanguard news announced the bombing of Ogbaimbiri–Tebidaba pipeline by the Niger delta Avengers, below is the ownership structure of oil blocks producing into that Export line. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/05/militants-shift-attack-bayelsa-bomb-agip-gas-pipeline/OML 60- Agip/Oando Since the attacks began, Nigeria has lost over 800,000bbls of crude according to the Nigerian oil minister ibe Kachikwu, this volume represents nearly 60% of Nigeria's daily oil production. from 2.2mbopd down to 1.2mbopd. Before the Attacks, the Niger delta Avengers announced on their website that their attacks are premised on the inequality/unfair distribution of oil blocks and further alleged that 85% of the blocks are assigned to Northerners.
The biggest puzzle Nigerians need to decipher at this verge is, how can Nigeria lose 50% of its production, yet no Northerner has been hard hit so far, when they are presumed to control 85% of the oil blocks? President Morsi of Egypt was sentenced to life in prison in part for selling state secrets to the Muslim Brotherhood, his own political party with terrorists links in the Arabian Peninsula.
Niger delta militants accepted Amnesty with arms buy back, monthly allowance, training overseas etc. Pipeline security contact was never part of the Amnesty programme but a senseless act of Jonathan to pacify his brotherly rogues beyond the purview of the FG programme.
The NDA has shown dexterity in attacking major trunk lines, an abberation from the 2008 attacks that focused on delivery lines with little economic damage. This present attack is clear that this group is working with a blueprint of our pipeline network a classified state secret. how did they get it? Why Jonathan and Alison Madueke are not tried for treason at the very least suprises me. |

Business › Re: CBN Floats The Naira, The Implications For You And I by jpphilips(m): 1:09pm On Jun 17, 2016 |
[quote author=19naia post=46613224] Sure this means devalue of the Naira but its the devaluation that has been waiting to float after being held back by Naira Pegging and $ scarcity. The pegging was done to protect the dwindling oil dollar income without having to raise the price of Nigerian oil to compensate for the devalued Naira-(they cannot just raise oil prices because of international price standards, they would lose customers and ALL oil revenue, so they just peg the currency to an unatural high value instead -to stop naira devalution effects in the weakened oil market). Now that oil price is coming up to a stable place and reserves have started to stabilize, there is no more need to peg the naira and risk the imbalance it does to the economy as a whole. When oil sold for $115 a barrel, Nigeria pegged its currency, you got this paragraph wrong, we are not floating because the reserves are stabilizing, we are floating because it has dwindled further occasioned by the popular low crude price and the most recent production cut (NDA bombing). It is a way of telling you that we have lost completely our capacity to fix the naira completely. Right now, the CBN stands to gain in this devaluation move because it is sitting on $ reserves valued at 199 per unit , that will soon become around 285 per unit or more. That is a very profitable move for them. They prevented massive losses as reserves dwindled by pegging naira at 199, and now they are ready to rake in massive naira gains by selling those N199 dollars for much higher. This must be a joke right? We use our foreign reserve to fix the naira at 199 in the first place, so in a layman's term, the government is "cheating" itself for the greater good, that is the whole essence of fixing the currency in the first place, "fixed" means, use your reserve to create a false buffer for your currency, what happens when you lose your buffer That is where we are now, again, you forgot that at 285 to a naira, inflation has doubled so no the CBN has absolutely nothing to gain except that the reserves are shielded from currency manipulations, the CBN throws in or withdraws dollars from the market at will as an intervention unlike setting the pace every time, it is a clear signal that the CBN actually lost its capacity to maintain the 199 mark. CBN retains the right to *move in from time to time* and that is the clause they need to move in and peg the Naira again down the road for when it favors them to set up for another round of collecting dollars under a high naira value and then releasing the naira peg later to bring in a profit. Also move in when the market goes rougue under wreckless influences. Free Market is prone to all kinds of economic disasters especially in corupt and greedy markets. Wrong!! the CBN is stepping in because they do not want Nigeria to operate a "free float" system rather a "dirty float" system which will require the CBN to have a latent band range for the currency, while demand and supply determined the range, the CBN through intervention will ensure that range is not exceeded, the only disadvantage is that the market is prone to speculative shocks because nobody really knows the band the CBN will adopt at any time. This is good proof also that CBN has confidence in stable future $ revenues coming in -but the Niger-delta damage to oil revenues has not yet settled. I recall it was forcasted to dent budget plans in months to come. Selling dollar futures is also a CBN hedge against dollar scarciry in the future, they can always print new Naira bills to pay the $ owed to those who bought dollar futures. Buying dollar futures from CBN is a bit of a risk because dollar scarcity is a clear possibility again in CBN coffers. But, you can get your Naira back even if CBN has to print Naira to pay you. The naira you have in circulation is peaking an inflation of 15.8% with your current capacity for goods and services distribution, did you say print more naira? good luck with that!! why do you think that the CBN's monetary policy tend to a lower CRR? Low value currency is a good thing when you have lots to export for revenue income or to attract foriegn investors with money and essential services. A weak currency only support export driven economies not an import one, how is it a good thing for Nigeria that is import driven?
Any economy and government so heavily dependent on one product, is bound to ups and downs and extreme vulnerability if it is not the world leader of that particular market or does not have formidable military and international diplomatic influence around the world to use to shape market and governement policy beyond its borders. Saudi Arabia is an example of being overly dependent on one product(oil) but having the advantage of world oil market influence and close support of a military and diplomatic superpower(USA). Saudi Arabia is the one that called for the drop of oil prices that caused all this problem to begin for Nigeria. Also productivity of oil world wide, influenced the Saudi decision and actually makes it better for the customer except in Nigeria where petrol prices have gone up because of complications with the government entwined oil market. Hence the privatization of sourcing fuel to depots and privatization of refineries in Nigeria, which will infact lead to the drop in fuel prices in Nigera in time when fully functioning in private hands. Dangote refinery is yet to be completed. Soon. You read the tabloid upside down, Saudi Arabia is not immuned to the present crude price shock as a matter of fact saudi has removed petroleum subsidy, cut payout to citizens and have over $98b deficit in their 2016 budget, the only difference Nigeria has with Saudi is the fact that the Saudi government saved over $780b when the going was good, again the religious tourism at Medina rakes in a lot of cash for Saudi so it is wrong to refer to Saudi as an oil dependent economy, Again Saudi does not have a solitary global influence in oil price, she needs OPEC to move, USA produce more oil than Saudi so where is the influence without OPEC.
The Saudi 2015 strategy not to cut production was not a solitary decision it was a unilateral OPEC decision, the reason is this; they thought that a lower price will discourage shale producers from investing more funds in Shale production, the plan eventually backfired, it is wrong to say that Saudi was the cause of oil price crash, Saudi only reacted to eliminate his new colorado competitors. The cause was the country that threw in over 6mbopd of shale oil in a market that is already saturated. you don't appeal to me like someone who is really sound on some of these subjects.

tiwiex: I don't think Buhari has any economic plan. The drop in naira was expected with the capital control. it was a futile effort. It didn't require an experiment to do what CBN just did. The demand and available supply already spelt the situation. So why delay the evil day and suffer while at it? Like I said, Buhari will deliver not because he knows what to do but because reality eventually leaves him with no choice. We didn't need to get to this point on FX and definitely not with the Niger Delta. CBN made the announcement 3 weeks ago but just released the modalities today. They were clearly not ready and just started work on it. Please help Nigerians beg him to slow down on his ego for the sake of the country. Let the advisers take charge. That is why they were appointed. Good move at last but Buharinomics just means trial and error without a need for the trial due to available expert advise. The economy is not a vehicle where you knock off a bumper and replace when you have a dent, the economy was suffering from low FX liquidity, you can not solve it by let everything loose, you wouldn't have absorbed any shocks, the right step is restrict then loosen, exactly what CBN did, please if you don't understand the Govt policies just STFU. Do you think we would have had any need to float if not for the bombings that cut production significantly, the economy was already on the path of a healthy recovery at the onset. |
