Actually, the "preposterousness" of the whole situation lies in your statement.

Why lampoon a document you haven't had the privilege of readinghuh

You used four insultive words in just two sentences you manage to string. Haba ma na
what do you understand by this statement?

"Mr. Emefiele noted the continued
drop in global crude oil prices and
reiterated the call on the government
and the National Assembly to speed
up the process towards the
immediate passage of the Petroleum
Industry Bill, PIB, which has been
pending passage for the past two
years."?

The words I use are hardly insulting, it is just stating the mental state of most Nigerians.

Yeah!!! And the blame shifting plot begins to take shape!!

Madam, you should be ashamed of yourself. Under Jonathan, and under your supervision, we recorded some of the most catastrophic fiscal imprudence. How many jets were added to the presidential fleet under your watch?? Were they necessary?? Under your watch, billions were spent on feeding pets in Aso Rock and maintaining the lawn. Under your watch, cutlery were budgeted for every year when we know even in your own house, they can be used and reused for up to 5years!! Under your watch billions was allocated for the feeding of the president and vice. There are way too many scandalously stupid expenditures you endorsed even at the presidential level, and here you are covertly trying to absolve yourself and your employee for the mess we now find ourselves. If you had given good counsel as is expected of you perhaps the effect of the oil price crash wouldn't have been so obvious.

When you sit atop your lofty table in your penthouse office accommodation, you could blame all you want over your failure, but the down trodden and average Nigerian have no one to blame but to look to God for salvation. They bear the brunt of your incompetence and that of your paymaster.

Shame on you all.
The down trodden want them around till 2019.
Are they really down trodden or brain trodden?

Well said. It even starts from the way we address our president even behind his back. I remember visiting d US some years back and every American I met would say President Obama & First Lady Michelle in all our conversations. I found it strange & asked myself why such culture is not in Nigeria. We insult our president anyhow. Even d old farmer in Otta couldn't have taken one tenth of the insults he hurls at the incumbent, when he was in Aso rock.
Sometime ago, Gbenga Aruleba insisted that one of his guests on focus Nigeria correct himself by saying President Jonathan & not Jonathan on his programme. I wish he & his colleagues in d electronic media could instil this culture in Nigerians. I personallyrsonally think we all need attitudinal change.
Let me tell you a little about Obama, when the bush administration ended, there was a total meltdown in the economy, big organizations failed, Job cuts ensued, anarchy etc.
The American people voted for change and today, their economy is better, because Obama did his duty as a head of state, let me ask you, is Jonathan, doing his duty as a head of state?

See the reason majority of voters in the SW voted for Jonathan is not necessarily the same reason majority of voters in SE/SS preferred him in 2011. Likewise today the reasons a large section of SW wants to vote Buhari in 2015 is not exact same reasons for his cult following in the North. It is only called convergence of aspirations.
We cannot sacrifice our life for another 4 years to shore up and support incompetence because a terrorist group also wants the same ends. It has been proven now that the reason Nigeria is poorly run is not because of the ethnic group or religion of the president. In the last 16 years southerners and christian lead Nigeria for 13 years and we are still hopeless and messed up.
In 2011, when we campaigned for buhari, a lot of South westerners didn't believe in him, where is the sudden love for GMB coming from? is it because he merged with Tinubu?

why are Nigerians so trusting, especially when they know the people they are trusting aren't trust worthy themselveshuh??.

Tinubu is only playing politics for his pockets, yet some youths are willing to sacrifice their lives for him... Jonathan may have turned out to be one of the most liberal/controversial president we have in Nigeria, but yet, every rat, cockroaches and caterpillers wants to take shots at him.

Its human nature, we abuse what we don't fear.

So why would a "responsible" politician use the word "by every means necessary"?? I find this comment flawed, disturbing, inciting and should not be accepted in our current political climate... Lets remember what happened in 2007 when OBJ promised a "do or die affair" and we took him for granted, we lost count on those who died as a result of his utterance.

Though the PDP was known to use thugs in the past, but have we really had such elections latelyhuh compared to when that Chimp from Ota was in power?? He rigged elections with impunity and murdered those who stood in his way. Where was Tinubu then?? did he dare say any of such wordshuh

Lets appreciate what we have for once and say enough is enough of all these incitement... Its really getting out of hand, and if we do not say something, soon we will see the result of our silence... TOTAL CHAOS

Yesterday was Amaechi, today Tinubu tomorrow might be Tompolo, maybe...

Despite our political differences lets stop dragging the highest office into mud... the whole world is watching us.
The problem I see here is that you don't have enough education to understand how an oval office works.
Nigeria has no head of state by function, "clown of state" is more appropriate.
while cutting his excellency some slacks, hope you are still running generators at home, are you buying Diesel at 155naira in a deregulated product at falling crude prices? are you still plying bad roads, how far for the security of your children? because the way Nigeria is someone can walk in to your home, r@pe your mother and walk away? in the face of all these you still think there is someone in the Oval office, naaa, you have just lost your self worth, you are just a sub human walking the face of the earth.

Go and give your life a meaning first to know when to feel embarrassed, trampled upon, humiliated and abused, only then are you fit to discuss who is culpable.

since1914:
That is not even the problem, because, most Nigerians have no problem with paying more taxes. The only problem they have is when the taxes paid are mismanaged. In fact I have always said that if we paid more taxes in Nigeria, people will be less tolerant of corrupt public officials. Just imagine paying 40,000 Naira out of your 100,000 Naira monthly salary, as taxes. You won't go home quietly if any part of that sum is embezzled by any man, we would visit him at home and lynch him publicly. If government increases taxes and we no longer need to buy fuel for our generators because of constant electricity, or if it leads to good and affordable healthcare, then that is progress. Unfortunately, there is no sign that, that will be the case if we agree to pay more taxes.

Before we even talk of increasing taxes we need to take a holistic look at the current tax system and administration in the country. Casual observation shows that we still haven't even exhausted all the avenues of taxation in this country, because there are so many people that are yet to be brought under the tax net. Secondly there is also a lot of leakages in the tax system. The level of corruption at the FIRS is staggering. Most tax officials are living far above their means, this by the way is not a speculation-am speaking from first-hand experience. Tax officials are conniving with tax payers and multinational companies to defraud the government, they are renegotiating tax rates and outrightly grants waivers upon receipt of kickbacks.

The Finance Minister needs to rise up to the ocassion rather than dish out blames, we have long gone past that stage. Now is the time to regain the trust of Nigerians. For a start, now is a golden opportunity for the government to convince the masses about total subsidy removal. Now that the international oil prices have dropped significantly, government should either reduce the pump price of fuel or admit publicly that she is spending a lot less on subsidy now. Which means that we should still have unspent subsidy money in this year's budget.
I don't know about you but saying Nigerians don't pay reasonable tax, is either you have a low paying job or you don't do business in Nigeria.
Ask the guys who import cars from the US how much they clear a car bought barely $3,000 from the US, what do you think duty is?
I agree with you that people will be less tolerant when they pay higher taxes, but the biggest weapon of corruption "HUNGER" has been flogging Nigerians since 1960, what have they done?
A job that hunger could not do, how do you think increased taxation will fare? bros, they will go home in penury give the change to their pastors and sleep, Nigerians are less humans.

Even if America does it, it is definitely unconnected with our human rights abuses in Northern Nigeria, the big question is,
why is it difficult for Jonathan to address the said human rights allegations like he has remained dumb on corruption and now has a new name , "mere stealing" for it?
personally I have seen a lot on you tube and I feel it is horrible for young men who live at the epicenter of this crisis.

I listened to a censored video with only audio output where the army was conducting a door to door search, breaks a door and ask the woman where her husband is she points and the soldier asked "are you Abdulahi? the guy says no he is my neighbor, army jacks him up and 3 gun shots was heard, next the real Abdulahi's wife turns up and the slain man's wife went to fight her, army went to intervene by giving the woman some thunderous slap, the woman while crying was saying that Abdulahi's wife knew where her husband is and kept quiet while her husband was shot, two gun shots were heard and the soldier asked the crying woman, are you happy now?

This is one out of so many stories of abuses in the North and the doughnut we have as a president care less, they will only tell us when America is punishing him, but can never tell us why he is being punished.

Unfortunately, the 39m Nigerians living with HIV will be planning to vote Jonathan in February, all I can say is good luck with that, pray AIDS spare you by 2019

As usual Nigerians are already falling for her nonsense, during the NSE annual conference, she claimed that a recurrent expenditure of 77% accrued to govt spending is unsustainable, but when she wanted to proffer solution to budget deficit she said, she will increase taxation, now a cut in house of assembly and ministerial allowance will float the economy faster than increasing taxes especially at the sea ports, where importers will seek Cotonou as a more viable alternative.

She claimed that the reason she is paying half subsidy in 2015 is because oil price has dropped as well as the landing cost, but it doesn't bother her that the pump price remains 97naira against all favorable odds?
If the cost of purchase is low, logistics is low as such subsidy is low, why is the pump price still high, some say it is not deregulated, but our deregulated AGO speak otherwise of that position.

Since Diesel is deregulated, I expected a sharp drop in price of diesel with fall in crude prices, but then when the Govt dont pay subsidy and probably tax the products at point of entry, the importer just sums it up at the pumps, the resultant effect to the end user is outrageous while the Govt pretends to be saving money.

Nigerians need to know that Deregulation of the downstream sector as enshrined in the PIB makes money for the Govt through their pockets but the majority of m0r0ns running the streets of Nigeria think otherwise.

When oil prices was high for over 4yrs, the Naira never appreciated, but each CBN governor was deluding himself that he is keeping the naira stable, if the ECR is shared and stolen, foreign reserve is stolen as well, Iweala's common sense should tell her to appreciate the naira
that will leave less money in the hands of the thieves.

why in less than a month of this oil crisis Nigeria is facing austerity measures if the reserves have not been stolen?

Vote your choice of candidate but if you return this govt of poverty with your vote, God will return serious poverty in your families not even tithe grin will save you this time. what is so special about mediocrity and incompetence in governance?

This is no good news because the Jonathan her oga has no foreign policy so she is going to sit tuck for 1yr and leave like nothing happened, meanwhile we still remember the strides of late rilwanu lukman during his days as the OPEC supremo.

The voting pattern changed this year because it is widely believed that the USA is colluding with Saudi Arabia the biggest producer to maintain the current 13mbbls from OPEC, a feat I believe was born out of concessions that will still keep the Saudi economy afloat for the next 6months below 80usd.

Other aggrieved members who want a change of status quo will likely want a neutral West African producer (away from members of the Arab league) like Alison to take over who they believe will turn things around in their favor, does she have the competence to do so?

They should go peruse her decrepit PIB, to realize that they just enthroned a buffoon to a very sensitive position at a precarious time,

What would Madueke do differently:

Madueke needs to liaise with the foreign affairs ministry to draft a comprehensive foreign policy that will identify areas of interest for Nigeria, highlighting the present drop in crude prices, she should as a matter of urgency lobby other members to unanimously vote for a drop in OPEC quota from the present 13mbbls.

Before which she is expected to have serious close door talks with the Saudi oil minister, accompanied with OPEC members who are strategic Allies with the Saudi Govt.

She should as a matter of urgency, lobby oil heads of Govt in the Americas and else where to join OPEC, this is geared towards shifting the present 53mbbls coming from them which has increasingly become a threat to OPEC's 13mbbls.

If she fails like she always does, the consequence will be enormous for OPEC member states and Nigeria at large, the acrimony in the 166th assembly is one that is becoming increasingly clear that most members will pull out and if that happens, most small oil producing countries will loose their only influence in the world stage.

Madueke must at this stage prove Nigerians wrong that she is not another political frame on the Nigerian wall.

But I didn't see any election on TV, was it a coded election in GEJ's bedroom?

Blame it on state Governors, quite convenient for you. The ECR account was only accessible to the Federal govt a breach of section 62 or so of the constitution, Iweala, you went to court and saw that it will be impossible to win and opted to settle out of court in an agreement to share it in accordance with the supreme court sharing formula.
Madam Iweala, the FG cut in the sharing was the supposed sovereign wealth fund of $1b, immediately after elections, the SWF, ECR and foreign reserve were depleted, who did that? state Governors?

Again, in January 2012, there was no money to pay subsidy reason it was removed in the first place, did you explain it to Nigerians that way?
Did you tell them that ECR was used to pay subsidy in the OBJ administration which you served, other than sending Sanusi the Mickey mouse to be bamboozling Nigerians with how our population is so large that we can no longer enjoy our oil wealth?

You said you are increasing the FIRS receipt by 50% in 2015 for luxury goods, did you release a communique as regards goods that fall into the luxury category? as usual, disgruntled Nigerians are jubiliating that there is no cause for alarm, little did they know that increased FIRS receipt means increased taxation, exactly how they didn't interpret subsidy removal with increase in pump price?

When the state Govs were benefiting from the ECR, you were still the person approving foreign loans for them to squander, in other words, you pay federal allocation, pay their share of ECR and go ahead to guarantee foreign loans for them, who are you fooling?

Iweala, you are just an over rated incompetent mofo doing a great dis service to this country.

A funny approach to the topic. However, on an honest note, we are heading for economic disaster. The naira, presently, is shooting up to N180 on the street. Now that official rate is N168, black market price will shoot further to N190. This will further give rise to increase in the importation of goods into this country and a further price hike in goods and services. I predict a double digit inflation rate as a result of this because we are a huge consumption economy. The government need to tighten its fiscal and monetary policies immediately and begin a spiral economy boost by enabling all sectors of the economy to thrive. I will not be surprise if more people begin to hold and transact with dollars.

Oil dependency has gotten us into this mess. The price for oil will not go up again. This news brings tears and pains because we should have seen the writing on the wall. Obama swore to bring an end to increase Oil price and immediately they started their research on Shale Oil. Our government, especially our honourable Finance Minister, who is also expected to assess the risk, decided to relax and told us that if US don't buy our oil, other countries will but she has also forgotten that if US sells Shale Oil at a cheaper rate, the market dynamics will change and loyal Nigerian customers will change their buying preference.
How did you come about all these?

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-11-25/nigeria-raises-rates-devalues-defend-collapsing-currency-oil-price-blowback-spreads

Having exposed the demise of various oil-producing nations' currencies previously, it is noteworthy that Nigeria folded today and devalued the Naira peg to the USDollar by over 8% from 155 to 168 and widened its 'intervention' bands from 3% to 5% (the upper band is where the market is trading).

Furthermore, the central bank raised rates from 12% to 13%.

All oil-producing nations are seeing dramatic pressure on their currencies since oil topped...

The adjusted peg appears to 'try' to cap the collapse of the currency at current levels after the old peg-band was crushed a few weeks ago... and Nigeria is rapidly running out of reserves to defend its currency.
What happened to the reserves?

I have a problem with this part of your story, since there was no credit to the original author if any, I assume you are giving us your own story.
I have a problem with this part;

"I was not planning having sex with him. After our outing one faithful Sunday we both came back home he went to his room and called for a bottle of water, I entered his room with the water he held me and gave me a wilt kiss I couldn’t hold myself as a lady that finished seeing her menses, neither do I have a sachet of condom in the whole house I gave up to him. He continued, subsequent times was very easy for him because he has known my weak point".
What i understand here is that your doctor boyfriend was aware he had HIV but was willing to have unprotected sex with you, being a doctor undergoing treatment clearly underscores that fact as such, ignorance will not fly.
Don't you think he should be spending the better part of his life in jail than accepting a marriage proposal from a man who consciously exposed you to a life threatening disease? a burden you will most likely carry for the rest of your life as reality depicts?

Were you so desperate as to accept marriage proposal from a supposed felon whose least sentence should be close to voluntary man slaughter?
I am baffled the way you reason, if all the academic toga you said up there is true, then I have no doubt that there isn't a thin line between academics and common sense.

I may wish to assume that the fact you could manage your condition today gives the best hope and supposed happiness to absolve such heinous crime, does it occur to you that in a time of war, access to these drugs will no longer be feasible?
How many USAID representatives are functioning in GWOZA, a supposed strong hold of Boko Haram?

Do you think that Nigeria may not in the future fall under any foreign sanction that may stop or disrupt the availability of these drugs you are talking like its ok!?

I wouldn't trim the rough edges of your enlightenment any further to know that you deserve better than coming here to advertise a drug under such circumstances,

Brynn, Doll and Kitten Young, three polyamorous lesbians from Massachusetts, have announced they are expecting their first child together in July, and claim to be the first unique lesbian case to have a baby.

According to the New York Daily News, Doll, 30, and Brynn, 32, had been in a relationship for over two years before they were joined by Kitten, 27.

The three married in a ceremony last August, though the state does not legally recognise their union. Brynn said: “In our eyes we are married. We had specialist lawyers draw up paperwork so our assets are equally divided. “I cried watching Doll and Kitten walk down the aisle towards me with their dads. After we said our vows, Doll and Kitten kissed me first then each other.”

Kitten, who underwent IVF via anonymous donor to carry the child, said: “The three of us have always wanted kids and wanted to grow our family. “We decided that I’d be the one to carry the babies because I’d like to be a full-time mum.” Massachusetts was the first state to recognise same-sex marriage in 2004, but it does not recognise marriages with more than two partners.

Oyo empire "sophisticated administration", yawn!!
Ended up in slavery anyways! who cares

sorry to say this brother but you really feel inferior, have you ever bothered to do a google search about black inventors, you won't bother coz you think the whites invented everything. Philip emeagwali (Nigerian) invented the world fastest computer, the whites did not glorify him like other inventors cos he's black. If you think you are an animal coz you are black, pls do not categorize all blacks, civilization started in Egypt, Egypt thought the whites and Romans the meaning of colonization.
You must have a black dense brain to think that Philip invented the fastest computer in the world,
That is the kinda nonsense that can come from Abakiliki roofless schools.

Read 1989 Gordon bell awards if you really want to know what Philip did on Algorithms.

You guys are too daft to be speaking in public. It is double jeopardy when you don't have education and common sense at the same time.

Yes o! China did not start developing until they dug deep into their own heroic history and woke up to the fact that they are not second fiddle to any race. Let's wake up for the sake of our Children and next generation.
If the blacks ever had civilization, it can only come from Ethiopia or Egypt, West and South Africans are too dumb to come out of slavery.

The minister stressed that even though the drop in oil prices was a serious challenge, it was also an opportunity for the country to refocus efforts towards the non-oil sectors in preparation for a future with less oil revenue.

As part of the efforts to reduce expenditure, she said international travel within the public service would be severely curtailed, adding however, that critical infrastructure projects would not be affected because they were key to economic growth, development and job creation.

She stated that the decline in oil prices had given additional impetus to the Federal Government’s focus on increasing non-oil revenues.

In this regard, the collection target for the Federal Inland Revenue Service, which has been working with Mckinsey to increase receipts will be revised upwards for next year.

Se said the country had recorded good success in reaching the initial target set this year of N75bn; noting that so far N65bn of this had been collected.

For 2015, the minister put the revised target at N160bn above the 2014 base.

Okonjo-Iweala also unveiled plans by the government to introduce what she called “tax on luxurious goods,” stating that this was a part of measures aimed at increasing revenue from non-oil sources.

She said that users of luxurious items, such as private jets, yachts, alcoholic beverages and expensive cars, would be required to pay special taxes for such goods.
You don't want to deal with corruption but you want to increase taxation, same movie script of 2011, leave corruption in tact, increase the suffering of the people.

Okonjo iweala is a Fvcktard
