Revived Nigeria because you got a contact to supply Brassier in ABJ? I have told you guys feeding from Jonathan, no need for campaign, whoever is benefiting or benefited from this administration should stand on the PDP queue with his family, while the rest disfavored stand with the opposition, let me see how Jonathan will get his constitutional, 2/3 majority votes. |

There's no welfare system in place, despite the oil...and the meagre subsidy they benefit from oil, is about to be cut - shameful.

Reference: I doubt this was written by a serving officer in the capacity he mentions for the simple reason that it is short on details. Just as a matter of fact. One example. The infantry soldier regards his weapon in combat as his soul. Why can't this person be specific as to the inferiority or indequacy of the weapon systems provided viz the insurgents and its direct influence in the theatre or specific engagements.
It is not unusual for battlefield feedback to get through to the QM and adjustments can be made but these have to be specific. Are their AK's jamming in the dust, are the magazines inadequate. How many crates of 7.62 does each section carry. Transport, food, water, flak jackets. These are the things a typical soldier is concerned about. A typical soldier will not know the intricacies of command and control and he is not interested.
I feel the problems depicted occur in the offices not on the field. The ultimate impact may be felt there but I can wager that there are power struggles going on within mid to upper level command and control, that is responsible for this. The broad amount of information collated in this report is just beyond that of a typical serving soldier in the theatre and its lack of detail speaks of something more akin to politics rather than operational. He can only give out info that wont compromise his identity. He complained of inadequate ammo, isnt that enough info already? the 2X 30 rounds ammo is not enough even as a civillian. I pay for six magazines per Mopol of 3 and 2 soldiers of 5mag to guard a mere office why is two magazines per soldier enough to fight insurgency? A guy came here giving tribute to his dad who was killed after he ran out of ammunition in the war front also, the other military thread showed a picture of a second lieutenant in a BH zone with only 2 mags. What other info do you need, is 2 X30 rounds ammo enough for this war, yes or no? bear in mind that the accuracy of the AK47 is miserable. |

torhuke: Although I support Goodluck Jonathan's reelection bid, the truth is that everything written by that soldier had been told to me by my cousin who is now at home nd has vowed never to return to the Nigerian Army. He said the army authorities were using them to make money. He told me that he managed to escape an attack by the BH members and he ran out of maiduguri immediately and vowed never to return. He said over 50 soldiers died in that attack and that about 70 of them escaped from that territory back to their families. Many of them have returned to maiduguri after their salaries was stopped but many of them also have vowed never to return to that war zone because their commanders are making money while the rank and file die on the war fronts. He said the last attack that made him decide to become a runaway soldier was the 6th attack and that in all of the attacks, they lost at least 3 soldiers. He spent 1 year and 9 months in maiduguri and was part of the multinational task force which included the Chadian, Cameroonian and nigerien military. He said the cammerounians started to withdraw their troops from the multinational task force because of the attitude of Nigerian military authorities who are just bent on making money from the war. He said the president has tried and that the president has released enuf funds to crush Boko haram but the military authorities buy few old and archaic weapons and embezzle the rest of the money. He infact said that the military authorities especially those of the northern stock do not want the war to end because they are making money from it. He has vowed never to leave the military saying not even his mother can make him go back. As at the last count, I know 17 soldiers (within the rank of private and corporal) who are alive but having gone and see how their generals and colonels feed fat from the war while their colleagues die, they have decided to become runaway soldiers and they have wittily parked out of the barracks and relocated to places that is far from their barracks to rent apartments where they hope to start a new life. 2 of this 17 are related to me and they have both spent close to 2 years in borno and Niger republic border with Nigeria. They say they are lucky to be alive. They ran away not because they are not ready to die for their country but because their authorities are making money from this insurgency and they are dieing because they are ill equipped. His account has been blocked already even though he is yet to take the stipends paid into the account while he was still at the war front. He said they pay them 30,000 naira per month apart from their salaries. 30,000 naira per month means 1,000 naira per day for facing death on a daily basis and when u die at they war front, the corpse of some soldiers who died were not even buried by the army. They were left for vultures to feed on. Even when their CO complains, he is court natialed. He said their former CO is facing court matial because he asked his troops to retreat when they ran out of ammunition while facing Boko hatam. But the militar authority wouldn't hear that. They prefer 200 soldiers die so that salaries and allowances meant for them would go into their personal accounts.
This is sad but it is the truth.
The president needs to do something about this asap. I don't know how he would do it but Nigerian army needs an emergency attention. Now this is a typical example of the dumb Nigerian I was complaining about. You want the army to change but you want to re elect an incompetent commander in chief? First four years 2 of your cousins escaped death and you want to give Jonathan another 4yrs abi? They wont be lucky next time. Imagine the kind of bingo I share the same passport with? olatade: Buhari would make an excellent President, his major problem is image misrepresentation in the south, the man is incorruptible and his tenure would see a crackdown on the Nigerian elite, his ideology as in the past remains the same, the poor man first and the rich man last. His candidacy is challenged vehemently by even the elite in the north because they know how ruthless he would be to them if in power. The wealth in Nigeria is always aided by corruption or govt policies working in ones favour against the interest of the majority, its going to take a brave and selfless leader to cleanse the rot in our system, there are many and Buhari is definitely one of them. crude price is going down, Nigeria is running a budget deficit already, thank God it happened towards the end of the year, wont be long before salaries will be owed. Nigeria has no foreign reserve left all looted as such our Naira can no longer be supported hence the devaluation, the prices of commodities have been adjusted to reflect the devaluation, job cuts will follow, amidst fall in crude prices, petrol will sell for 128, next week, Jonathan could not fix electricity that is mounting pressure on petroleum products.
The increased FIRS receipt for imports and the devaluation has already murdered the deregulated diesel price hence its unchanged price at the pumps amidst fall in crude prices. Our inflation index has trippled this last 6months and some pigs think they have an opinion, Bros, don't beg them. by the time Jonathan's inefficiency is done with them come 2019, Hunger will speak the language they will understand, since Bigotry has stolen their common sense. |

[quote author=eaglechild post=24341860]Great leader my foot, Though you made no point, but i will still help your Ignorant mind.
He carried out a coup to overthrow a civilian government and now wants to become a civilian president. The govt of Shagari was very corrupt as such his action was a necessary evil at the time, How many soldiers have the balls at the time to do what he did? look around you, corruption, Bigotry, darkness, terrorism, nepotism and indiscipline has held this country hostage for so long, tell me, wont you like a leader who will forcefully take over Govt to solve these ills? personally I wont mind. This nation need some balls, the biggest of all balls, and that move is actually a plus for Buhari.
If you have been born in Dec 1983, Buhari wasn't the mastermind of the coup, he was the man who inherited the Govt, either his rank was regarded or he was the person the coup plotters or SMC could trust, I am not insinuating he hasn't a hand in it, I am just putting it clearer to understand a little of how things used to work in their days. If there is a tough soldier who will jail this Govt and recover all our looted funds especially at a time the hawks have embezzled us into recession, have the balls to end terrorism and reclaim our lost territories, put a bullet in the heads of those boisterous militants, bros I don't mind.
Food for thought; Lt walbe assassinated Aguiyi Ironsi (the then head of state) in a coup detat, guess who inherited the Govt? YAKUBU GOWON!!! Does he have a hand in it, most likely but all are speculations. Let us go to 1966 coup.
Kaduna Nzeogwu, Emmanuel Ifeajuna et al staged a coup detat in the form of an ethnic cleansing, Zik, Mbakwe, Ojukwu etc all Ibos were left untouched, I can say they were "beneficiaries" from the coup if I want to borrow your innuendo, any evidence to prove they have a hand in it? "NO" Murtala Mohammed, in a coup detat was assassinated by Col. Dimka, who inherited the Govt? Olusegun Obasanjo.
That someone inherited a Govt does not mean he must have a hand in the process, Lastly, it was a bloodless coup that sanitized the nation and have given us over 30yrs nostalgia, get over it.
He promised to make Nigeria ungovernable should he fail to become president. He used a Metaphor, baboon and the Dogs, the dumb Nigerian media and the overzealous pastor Bakare, introduced the word "ungovernable". Are you in anyway referring to Boko Haram? well, Jonathan at the UN General assembly admitted on record they are foreign terrorists on Nigerian soil, the name Buhari never came up thorough out that address, except you know more than Jonathan or it is your Govt that was made ungovernable, then I will be forced to believe you. Recently, both the US and France have been blamed for Nigeria's woes, guess there are a lot of actors in the "ungovernable" scene.
He is a strong advocate of sharia law and Nigeria becoming an Islamic nation even though we are a secular state with arguably more Christians than Muslims. An obvious clue to his religious intolerance. If Buhari decides to give sharia law to his fellow Northerners what is wrong with that? the same northerners asked for it under Obasanjo and he obliged them, how is it your headache? Buhari wished we joined OIC, at the time, that move was very strategic, the problem is that Nigerians once they hear "ISLAM" wet their pants, and being dumb people we ignore a lot of factors. let me educate you a little.
Buhari's economic policy is one that gives no room for IMF and other international lobbyists, what they do is pretend they are helping your economy but in the end you will be indebted for life, after Buhari was ousted, IBB obliged them and Nigeria's economy was finished, OBJ realizing the harm IBB did applied for debt relief to the tune of $14b in 2004, today we have nose dived back into debt, go and read the story of Greece and you will understand the specifics of foreign debt.
Buhari's foreign policy was very sound, haven rejected the bidding of the west (IMF, World bank etc), there was no doubt rancor and Nigeria needed to align with nations that will stand by us should it snowball to a confrontation (An option OBJ did not consider and it led to the death of our military). Look at the way Nigeria is being sanctioned today due to human rights abuses, people like Buhari make contingency plans for scenarios like that, in Africa at the time, the strongest military lies in the north, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia. the OIC was the gateway to joining the Arab league. The Arab league today is the 2nd most powerful and influential alliance in the world after NATO.
Look at what happened after Buhari, the christian sentiments left us in ECOWAS ditto ECOMOG as our regional military muscle are we better off for it? learn from these Examples;
When the Ouattara govt of Ivory coast (west Africa, supposed ECOMOG region), was nearly threatened to civil war by Laurent Gbabo, who saved the day? France. not ECOMOG
Mali, Northern Mali was over run by Tuareg rebels, who came to their rescue? France, not ECOMOG, before ECOMOG arrived, red beards was already killed.
The only AU active intervention in Africa is in CAR, how successful are they? matter for the gods. how about Sudan and Somalia?
Nigeria, Threatened by Boko haram, who is helping with INTEl? US, not ECOMOG.
In Liberia, after 9yrs of intervention and sleeping with the RUF forces, who conducted the election that enthroned Sirleaf johnson? UN/British, not ECOMOG.
Now, looking at the inefficiencies of ECOMOG in Africa, do you think it was wrong for Buhari to have registered us with OIC to gain access to the Arab league? Camp david accord of 2000 is one of their numerous successes. A league that today is housing the best Military in Africa, had Buhari completed that process, Boko haram would have been a thing of the past.
A leader with such smart foreign policy is what you hate but you prefer a president who does not have at all? or OBJ who destroyed his military for fear of a military coup when he could have gotten a foreign alliance? do you think Ukraine was stup!d running to NATO when Russia came calling?
What of PTF? Was he really the saint people make him to be or a cold blooded silent looter, storing up for his presidential ambition. After the 2003 Presidential elections where Buhari dared OBJ, he set EFCC after him to investigate his PTF dealings, till date the EFCC report is yet to indict him, if OBJ's ruthless EFCC, ICPC et al exonerated him of corruption, who the fvck are you?
Buhari is a known sympathiser of Boko Haram. It took ages for him to make a vague condemnation of the sect. Who is he deceiving? Well, after the Vague condemnation, he was nearly assassinated, Unless you confuse buhari for an armored tank, I see no reason why he should sacrifice his safety for an ingrate like you that feel he does not deserve your vote. |

They prove in solid terms every now and then that ultimate political power is not for the half-hearted, the bemused or the childishly naive. The rougue in younde helped them corner bakassi and because of obasanjos lukewarm handling of the rezultant court verdict, a stupid french now feels emboldened to more or else launch a full scale war against Nigeria using one pawn called shekau. Y an utterly confused bunch of corrupt men who won't lift a finger to defend the country because their london accounts and mansions will be seized thereafter.. Let me identify areas in your write up I agree with, I agree that we have a clown as head of state. I agree that Nigeria is too big for disgruntled tiny countries to meddle with. The truth lies with majority of Nigerians who are perpetually dumb, you equally over stated Nigeria's relevance in the equation. Should there be a direct confrontation between Nigeria and Chad or Cameroon believe me, we will be eating lunch in a UN tent. Perhaps you have forgotten so soon the intervention in Mali where the NA was reduced to a boyscout movement while Chad secured the Mali Algerian border. You seem not to realise how badly corruption has finished this country, funny enough, Most Nigerians are too dumb to realize that. |

Reference: It means more control of the oil sector by Nigeria and the communities where exploration (exploitation) has been undertaken for the last 40 years. It means bad news for the status quo. The unions are fighting for the first point, the communities the second while the rest of Nigeria is desperately hanging onto the last. Are you referring to the present PIB or another? |

why would any sane Nigerian support the passage of the current PIB let alone an oil and gas worker if he or she hasn't been bribed by this corrupt and clueless govt?

Billyonaire: I will like to ignore your vituperation because I have decided to be a gentleman this very minute. There is no justification for coup detat in 21st century. We as Nigerians MUST steer clear of thoughts of coup and alienate former coup plotters like Buhari from Aso Rock. Dr. Jonathan is financially comfortable, he does not need to loot treasury to afford to train his kids in Nigeria, to feed them with local food and buy his traditional attire. GEJ does not own houses abroad, he doesnt train kids abroad so he has a minimalist lifestyle that doesnt require excessive income.
Learn from me. over $100m net worth is minimal by your standard? I see why they call you billy d f00l |
