Teni as a youngster of 2 will not remember WHY those armed robbers purposely came into their living room and assassinated her father. I lived barely 1km away and do remember the story well. These robbers came for someone else, the police were called but as expected, they refused to turn up. General Akpata hearing that a neighbour was in distress, grabbed his gun and went in pursuit of the robbers. He killed one or two of them. A week later, the robbers came back for him as a revenge mission! |
The write up said "Allegedly". Please do not jump to conclusions that it was him that killed her. She probably committed suicide. I had a girlfriend who always threaten me with killing herself any time we had an argument. The day God finally removed me from that relationship, I was very happy as you can imagine!!! |
Sorry, WE WERE BOTH AS was what I meant to write! |
Good day, I am one of those Nairalanders that reads but rarely comments; On the dilemma you raised, I experienced the same but in reverse. My wife though she was AA based on test she did, I was also sure I was AS based on test I did when like you, I was 10 years old! Turns out I was right and she was wrong, we are both SS! Unlike you however, we only found out when she was pregnant with my first child and we were advised to abort it as it might turn out as SS. We were in England then and attended numerous counseling. The Operation to take the Amniotic fluid was booked at the St. Mary's Hospital in London when through prayers and our faith we asked them to stop just before the almost 50cm needle was to be inserted into my wife and we agreed to keep the child come what may! She turned out to be AS and will be 20 in March!! We lost some foetuses after that because, unlike the first time when the only thing we had was our faith, we started doing the amniotic fluid tests which costs about N700k at the Sickle cell centre at Idi-Araba (They were at Onikan before). Finally, later we had another girl in 2003 and lost another foetus in 2007 after which we decided to call it quits with child bearing. I guess what I am saying here is if you love Oma as much as you claim she loves you, there's always a way. Your faith is the most powerful weapon you have after the Love you both share! Thank you. Let me go back to my ghost reading. Happy New year fellow Nairalanders!!! |
Some questions that readily come to mind are; 1. She was diagnosed with Cancer after PMB won the election or she did nothing about the prognosis until she was sure GEJ was not continuing? 2. She was in a coma but the mother-in-law did not call an ambulance to take her to the many public hospitals in London, but wait for the husband to call an ambulance (Private) to take her to a private hospital on Harley street where the Oncologist was not around but have to be called back. Not only do these elements rob us of our common patrimony, they use it to show us, to make us know they will only use the most expensive! Everyone knows that London has the NHS, it is free for emergencies even for foreigners. So, why will you wait for more than 24 hours to use a private hospital? |
If I'm worth $32b like him, I'll not only do it for tree, but will buy NOUN a campus for free too! https://news.education.investing.com/power-players-the-worlds-top-25-wealthiest-politicians/32/?ref=prev https://news.education.investing.com/power-players-the-worlds-top-25-wealthiest-politicians/7/?ref=prev |
CEOYOMZZYBLOG:I have heard Nigerians pronounce this lovely and intelligent Lady's name as Ge-Ne-Vie-ve The name is a French name and is pronounced Gene-(Gin)- Vi-Eve(As in Everlasting). |
Again, GEJ Lied; Best index for Nigeria on CPI is NOT 27.0 in 2014, but 28.0 in 2016! I am embarrassed by this guy's PHd!!! DATE VALUE CHANGE, % 2017 27.00 -3.57 % 2016 28.00 7.69 % 2015 26.00 -3.70 % 2014 27.00 8.00 % 2013 25.00 -7.41 % 2012 27.00 10.23 % 2011 24.49 2.06 % 2010 24.00 -4.00 % As can be seen, GEJ's government's best score is PMB's worst score!!! |
As a Landlord also, I will advice you to pay into the account of the person who entered contract with you in the tenancy agreement. If you do not have one ask for it as it will be your defence incase of any future issue. |
Congrats to her and her family. That is one of the benefits you get in a country where the government works for the people's interest, not the sad story we experience here where all our money is used to fatten incompetent politicians. In Canada, you are expected to only show that are gainfully employed, pay 20 percent on the equity of the home you want and spread the balance over 25 years at an interest not exceeding 5 percent! Not like Nigeria where they ask for 50 percent down payment and the balance spread over 6months!!! As if we are all thieves!!! |
A lot of people did not know that a KIA and Hyundai Cars are actually made side by side in their Ulsan, Korea yard. with the same engine but different body!! hisgrace090: |

Question is, has he ever paid you rent (Issued you his cheque or paid into your account) on behalf of the real tenant? This could qualify him as your bonafide tenant! |
Total Bullocks!!! I am a mariner (a ship Captain) and I earn my living working in the marine environment. I sailed the oceans for 30 years and have never came along any spirit (I would have loved to see a beautiful mermaid, though!) This issue of marine spirit is created to generate fear and to continue to keep people in ignorant bondage! |
After about 13 years, I left a well paying IOC primarily with intent on starting my own company as I had a dream that I wanted to bring to fruition. Unfortunately, the business did not fly mainly due to demands for bribes I sincerely felt will compromise my upbringing. Being someone who cannot seat still doing nothing, I dusted myself up and got another job with another IOC. But i'll rather be in business for myself!! |
While it is a good thing for Messrs Sahara Energy and a few individuals at NNPC, this does not appear to bear well for Nigeria, why? NNPC is in a joint venture with SE to supply Nigerian gas to lift under the Cabotage act. The vessel is NOT registered in Nigeria, so there is will not be registry income to Nigeria and as I saw in the picture again, there is NO Nigerian seafarer onboard, so it is a "Nigeria" vessel that we should all celebrate with no quantum of inputs from Nigeria! There are qualified gas seafarers from NLNG that would have made Nigeria proud on these vessels, a Nigerian registry could have helped our flagging fleet! Finally, 38,000mt for both vessels means they're made for river ports! |
Remsonik. The answer to your question? Young men cant afford the ostentatious lifestyles of the average Nigerian girl! |
What about Sagrada Familia in Barcelona? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ee/Sagrada_Familia_01.jpg The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família (Catalan pronunciation: [səˈɣɾaðə fəˈmiɫiə]; English: Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family), is a large Roman Catholic church in Barcelona, Spain, designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926). Although incomplete, the church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site,[5] and in November 2010 Pope Benedict XVI consecrated and proclaimed it a minor basilica,[6][7][8] as distinct from a cathedral which must be the seat of a bishop. Construction of Sagrada Família had commenced in 1882 and Gaudí became involved in 1883,[5] taking over the project and transforming it with his architectural and engineering style, combining Gothic and curvilinear Art Nouveau forms. Gaudí devoted his last years to the project, and at the time of his death at age 73 in 1926 less than a quarter of the project was complete.[9] Sagrada Família's construction progressed slowly, as it relied on private donations and was interrupted by the Spanish Civil War, only to resume intermittent progress in the 1950s. Construction passed the midpoint in 2010 with some of the project's greatest challenges remaining[9] and an anticipated completion date of 2026, the centenary of Gaudí's death |
