It might not be mentorship but it sure is something. Problem is that we can't access Twitter from naija oo except we use vpn... having vpn on phone is like an exhibit with our killer and dubious police... police have continued their stop n search again oo.. more especially in festac and mile2 badagry road...... does teneika askew have maybe instagram or LinkedIn handle that would be easier for some of us...#ENDSARS |

But men I am here now, met fellow Nigerians here who don't know nairaland self, I hear their own version of life. I can adjure that health sector is the weath here. Even my fellow IT student are working as careworker and jostling to get the NHS care work And it is the sector that most willing to sponsor. I conclude the best bet is to come as couple cos the white chicks has zero attention for us, I see it every day. Then do not look at the Nigerian lady with paper cos the guys who got in with them here feel like a prisoner in Nigeria. It just not an easy life. But in all you just have to experience it yourself to make your own assessment. Noted |

dettolgel: House please I need advice and suggestions.
A friend of mine her small bro graduated with 3rd class mech engineering. They are trying to get him admitted to the UK. The agent they got got admission for him the tuition is 15k pounds (18 months program).
But my friend is trying to see if she could get him a msc program for 10k pounds with his grade?
Please if possible which schools can she ask the little bro to apply for for Jan intake?
Thanks I don't think theres any school offering a 2 years master's thats lesser than £15k... most schools offer a year masters and the cheapest for mechanical engineering ive seen is £9k for September intake only and that is the University of hull... oga theres nothing like trying to see only research and find out whats obtainable |

Star19: Maybe you can attach an attestation letter from population census stating your correct age and submit to ukvi when applying. The attestation serves as a birth certificate for you. It took two days for me to do an attestation.
Try asking more people or even the school you applied to for proper guidance. Most schools usually don’t grant unconditional admission till this is sorted because they know it will be a problem if you apply to ukvi without sorting it out with them first. man I'm in this shit oo... date and month of my D.O.B was switched on the WAEC certificate only the year is the same. TheGuyFromHR: Oga. No give yourself high BP such that you will end up using your IHS by force and tying up scarce NHS resources this winter. There is no magic bullet for getting a sponsored job, you sound like you've read/explored everything there is on this topic, so apart from applying as much and as widely as you can, there isn't really much else to do.
If you believe in God (or a god), offer up prayers (or sacrifices). Stop stressing over this issue. Work hard, study hard, do your best to get a good result, and have fun too. Look around, try befriending one of the(non-fat if you like) girls around you. (They may have expectations of your prowess based on your being black again, stay safe and protect the NHS).
We know the UK is a Plan B for many people this year - also have a Plan B to this Plan B as well, involving exploring other locations too.
Do your best, and leave the rest. Make I play DORIME for you... honestly ehn when I feel down about this travel matter ehn... you guys rekindle the glowing splint in me... the bolded got me laffing out so loud... making I start to take more classes with baba ALAGBO down the street |

mrcodebreaker: This is why studying engineering in the uk sucks. Renewable has not created as much jobs and the UK is not an ideal destination for manufacturing companies due to brexit. The UK is better ideally for IT (good chance of sponsorship with experience after school I ‘think’) and Finance (sponsorship with prayer and fasting). Fields like civil engineering and construction are good because I believe their is an infrastructure boom. For Electrical, mechanical etc I am no too sure. Ask your friends that came here if they got jobs, check linkedin and see that if someone did this course did he get a job afterwards etc. by the time you have seen people’s linkedin profiles you can judge and see if they are doing well or not after a certain course.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10085865/How-China-mockery-Boris-Johnsons-great-green-jobs-boast.html Thanks for this though... well will see if I can switch to the civil engineering or construction .. .. ive been researching and researching about these job sponsorship possibilities though..... but Mr code breaker are you currently in the UK... can you recommend IT courses.. will do research on them and see which is easier for me to switch to if I cant do the civil or construction |
