donpata: That's a brave one from Ukraine. Afterall, what do they have to lose that they've not lost? Can't believe in this 21st century, people will still be killed like chickens in the name of a useless war. Thought besides fighting jihadist, there won't be a kinda nation to nation combat as this. I guess I underestimate the depravity of the human mind.
The fact we still fight wars is all the proof you need that mankind is still far from civilisation.
Faiththatworks: I believe Asiwaju did the best thing for Nigeria by removing the parallel exchange rate operated by the CBN and also the fuel subsidy. Only President Jonathan attempted to remove the Fuel subsidy and some members of the opposition party used it as one of their campaign manifesto to remove him. Whether we agree or disagree, the removal of fuel subsidy and unifying the exchange rate is enough to remove any government as seen by the hardship in Nigeria but I really really respect Asiwaju for refusing to back down and reintroduce those subsides. There's hardship in Nigeria and no one should try to cover it up,my advice to Asiwaju is for him to find quick emergency fixes for the country. I can testify the power situation is really improving, although I don't know if if the same in other parts of the country, this has helped cover up the fuel scarcity that has been lingering for almost a month. Asiwaju must ensure whatever the Ministry of Power is doing is improved on. Asiwaju must also order NNPCL to sell subsidize crude oil to Dangote for the next 6 months so he can deliver refined petrol, diesel, kerosene and Aviation fuel. This will really help to reduce the pump price of these products and help Asiwaju look for more sustainable results in the months ahead. Finally he must sack the parasitic element in NNPCL,those guys will never allow Nigeria function as far as they are importing refined fuel into Nigeria. God bless Nigeria
I agree on the dual exchange rate removal. It was only enriching a few people at the expense of the rest of us. Unfortunately, they implemented it at the same time they were squeezing dollars out of the system to pay off debts owed to foreign companies, so the naira tumbled and people think "floating" is responsible.
Fuel subsidies should not have been removed. At least, not without sorting out local refining first. All it has brought is suffering. All they've done is transferred burden from the government to the people without any corresponding development so far. The worst is the manufacturing sector hard hit and local industries are dying, with the attendant unemployment. Like Kperogi said, it's SAP all over again. All for what? So that government will have money to buy jets for Tinubu and pay a senator N21m.
NB: The fact that the gains of subsidy removal have been eroded by inflation and we're paying the subsidies now should tell you what happens when policies are implemented with zero thought and with just all the energy it takes to say "subsidy is gone!"
helinues: Cut your clothes according to your size.
FG should introduce a law that any marriage which people bought Aso Ebi worth over N20k and the marriage didn't last for 2 years, the Aso Ebi money should be refunded
AfeezShomorin: E no go betta for Nigeria Delta militants, na dem introduce kidnapping for Nigeria!
I was just thinking about this yesterday. What those guys did to this country, ehn?! Nigeria did the Niger Delta dirty, but I doubt even those boys are happy about this monster they introduced into our country.
GreatOchuks: Oya go print you own like this and use for your Ceremony while uploading same everywhere.
By the time you sleep in "place when no good" , you will learn faster than Jon Snow.
Dey speak English
Is this a response to what I wrote? Of course, I'd print if I was shooting a movie that calls for that. If "ceremony" is the difference that makes it an offence, you haven't shown how.
If you hate "English", leave NL, wear a police uniform and go arrest them naa.
Richtaiwo: This is not just annoying but also very disgusting. It is sometimes better to shut the fvck up than coming to make stupid remarks.
Passengers were just attacked and dispossessed of their personal belongings while travelling, and you are here assuring them of their safety on same travelling. Wtf.
...without stating what he's done to ensure their safety. A shamefully embarrassing statement.
An arsonist set himself on fire after breaking into a barber's shop, pouring petrol all over, and setting the place ablaze, CCTV footage released by Australian police shows.
The footage, taken just before midnight on July 6, shows two individuals pulling up to the Gold Blade barber shop in Gungahlin, Canberra, on pushbikes.
One of the men uses a hammer to smash through the glass front door, allowing their accomplice to climb into the shop, armed with a red jerry can.
The individual douses the shop with an accelerant, using a lighter to set fire to it.
Flames engulf the store, and the arsonist is set on fire, forcing him to make a quick exit. The CCTV footage shows the man diving through the smashed front door and onto the pavement, rolling over several times in an attempt to put out the flames. Once he does, the pair flee, leaving the shop to burn.
Police have struggled to identify the two individuals, who were wearing motorcycle helmets to cover their faces.
Community police are appealing for help in locating them and have urged anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
immortalcrown: The thread says that Ekpa is seeking a legal support for the agitation. The thread doesn't say that Ekpa has joined the sponsors of Boko Haram and ISIS.
But some haters of Biafra will fake love here and advise Biafrans against donating money for the agitation, while some will use the thread to intensify their hate for Biafra.
In your view, Mr Ekpa is a gentleman advocating peacefully for his Biafra cause. I see.
GreatOchuks: Be doubting like Thomas even when it's clearer than DVD . 1* It is same design with the original except for their pics 2* It's same Colour 3* The word "Naira" is written on it 4* This can easily be mixed with the Original in bundles and used to scam people especially at Night because it bears a striking resemblance with the original. 5* It offends the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 and Intellectual Property Laws 6* It can start a trend which can result in People producing and spreading Counterfeit notes everywhere.
I don't agree with you. The use of pictures that don't look like those on the original ones shows there is no intention to pass them off as the real thing. If printing anything that looks like money is criminal, every movie producer in the world would be in jail.
naptu2: For the record, people give themselves their parents' name for a variety of reasons.
Larry Echiejile is a famous broadcaster. His father was not famous. He renamed himself Larry Izamoje when his father died. Izamoje was his father's name.
I have a friend who gave himself his mother's name when she died. He did it to honour her. She was not famous.
So? For the record, anyone can give themself their mother-in-law's name. Yes, some people adopt their father's first name as their middle name (e.g., Shehu Musa Yar'Adua, Naptu Napti Maptu). I could see this and banter on NL that he's probably showing off, but I'm sure the person won't care what I think. What Naptu2 (SAW) doesn't know is that there are accepted ways of writing names and that hyphenating your father's first name with his surname to form a compound is non-standard.
BTW, I knew the name of the President's private secretary. Not recognising "HMO" doesn't mean I don't. I just didn't knew he was being prepped or rumoured prepped for Lagos House.
naptu2: That's another funny thing that you do. You type a lot of meaningless gobbledygook when you know that you can't defend your position.
Nobody said that his parents named him that way and you know it. I specifically wrote that he named himself that way. You know exactly what I was referring to, but it's OK. I understand, you can't defend your position
I said someone would make a good governor because he was the best cabinet minister sometime past. I'm not campaigning or anything - just a post on a forum. Why does this rile you up so much? Saying you'd start out distrusting someone isn't even saying the person is bad and may be more about you than the person. I'll never understand human beings.
naptu2: That's another funny thing that you do. You type a lot of meaningless gobbledygook when you know that you can't defend your position.

Actually, I've defended my position. He either named himself or someone did. If you really mean WHY he named himself, you're just being silly. Ask me if I know why naptu named himself.
naptu2: You ran away from the question but you are now back to it. You are implying that he named himself that way in order to show off and I asked you how you know why he named himself that way and you've been running away from the question.
Oh, you mean his papa and mama may have written Hakeem Muri-Okunola on his birth certificate. (I've struck out "why" to make your meaning clearer.) Fair point. The way these things work, it's highly unlikely. I doubt he'd be a supreme court judge when the kid was born and our people usually just do these to show off when they've acquired "the name". In any case, the blame goes to whoever named him. Poor Hakeem.
So to answer you directly, I don't know. You've won. Naptu 1 - 0 JuanDeDios
naptu2: It's not just your opinion, but you extended it to "how he conducts his life". Those were your exact words and they go beyond personal opinion to a behaviour of the subject.
Anyway, this has been very amusing, from the nomination of Aganga to the avalanche of assumptions.
Thank you for entertaining me tonight.
How you name yourself (in this case, going around with your justice-papa's name dangling around your neck) isn't a part of how you conduct your life? Abi if you see a tiger going around screaming "I'm a tiger, I'm a tiger,", won't you find it distasteful?
Which kweshun again naa? I said I don't trust people that hyphenate their names in this manner and I stated what the distrust is premised on. You can read the post again.
If your father's name is Field Marshal Napti Maptu (former CGS) and you go around calling yourself Naptu Napti-Maptu (instead of Naptu Maptu), I'd start out not trusting you too - until you prove you're a sensible and trustworthy person. Sorry, it's personal. Well, not sorry. People should know these basic things.
naptu2: Oh, I missed something there. Isn't this contradictory? You know nothing about him, but you know how he conducts his life?
But that's not a statement about his entire life. At least, it's not intended to be. In a previous post, I already referred specifically to what I meant.
naptu2: Since you said that he is the best (according to you) and you've told us what you will do, simply create a political party and nominate him for the governorship position and we'll all see how he will win and perform.
I actually get the argument you made about ACCEPTANCE – in the deleted portion. Yeah, it's politics - brilliance isn't enough. I know politics will win, but I've made my nomination anyway. Hopefully, the godfathers are reading.
Yea, I know nothing about HMO. He could be better than Aganga, for all we know. I only said I don't trust people who conduct their lives like him.
Lol. Yea, I only said what I'd do if it were up to me. I'm not one of THEM, so it's not. I'm one of the masses, but I'm allowed to muse randomly and speak my thoughts aloud, am I not? You're taking this too seriously.
We and the cursed tribes called Yoruba have nothing in common.
After all the cursed tribes have told us how several Ibo speaking parts of the Niger delta aren't Ibo too, So the same applies to the Yoruba and any so called Yoruba speakers in my state.
Waazaga!!! Ozuor!!!
I don't believe you're even Edo - despite your linguistic adventures.
naptu2: Aganga is from Edo and Fashola protested against his appointment
Fola Arthur-Worrey was solicitor-general and then chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
Hakeem Muri-Okunola (HMO) is thr son of Justice Muri Okunola. He was the head of the civil service of Lagos State before Tinubu appointed him as his principal private secretary when he became president.
There have been rumours for many years that HMO will be the next governor of Lagos.
I see. I guess it'll be HMO then.
But if they're looking for the best (they say Tinubu is good at headhunting the best), I'd personally nominate Aganga. And not that I'd trust someone who hyphenates his father's first name to the last to form a compound so everyone would know whose son he is without asking. But that's just me.
senatordave1: Aganga was nominated by Lagos PDP not Tinubu.HMO is Hakeem muri okunola Tinubu's personal private secretary and former Lagos head of service.
I know that. But sebi they said Tinubu is good at headhunting the best? I'd nominate Aganga if that is still the whole idea.
senatordave1: Aganga is from Edo.worrey is not a Tinubu boy...it would be between HMO or senator Abiru
Isn't Ambode from Osun or something? Aganga was nominated to the federal cabinet from Lagos. What's not in doubt is his brilliance. I followed the news closely in the Jonathan era and he was easily the best minister even though Akin Adesina got all the media spotlight. Arthur-Worrey used to hold important post in Tinubu's Lagos, so I'm a bit bit surprised. Who's HMO?
