fergie001: In an earlier report, PREMIUM TIMES quoted sources with direct knowledge of the investigation as identifying top officials allegedly marked for assassination. They include President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas. Some people are still in 1966, when you could just wake up and slaughter politicians en mass and get away with it. |

Christlike01: If I were Ukrainian, I would seriously question Zelensky’s leadership. How many of his relatives are among the dead bodies being exchanged right now? Must everyone else die before he becomes reasonable? Does he have to remain President of Ukraine at the expense of Ukrainian lives? People are being killed in droves, yet the comedian appears unmoved. You are hell-bent on continuing a war you can never, ever win. Is that not the definition of madness? Hmm. So Zelensky started the war? And is the one refusing to end it? |

The whole thing have become stale and soured. Trump's attention is now on Greenland and Iran. So if someone breaks into your house and you're defending your wives and kids, you're the one who should swallow his pride and end the senseless war, right? Please explain how. |

Science/Technology › Re: Caught This Lil. Snake Chilling My Living Room Today — Please Identify The Name by JuanDeDios: 12:23pm On Jan 26 |
Moresalt: Please, can anyone identify this snake... Poisonous or not?
So, my dogs forcefully went outside the gate today in the afternoon. It's not really the usual time to go out to pee and stuff, so I was a bit angry and wanted them to come back.
They wasted a bit of time running around the bush and I started chasing them a little before they knew I was serious and they wouldn't like me to graduate to using some well orchestrated spanks first...
Finally they got in the living room (not using the cage for now cos they disturb/bark at the neighbors). Then just as I was about to close the door and turn back I found this shocker chilling like a confused fish out of water.
Thankfully it wasn't too comfortable to slither on tiles so it was very easy to target the head first.
It must have hidden itself around one of the dog's body—maybe the more hairy one. Cos I just move in 2 months ago, there could be no other way for such except for small cockroaches and maybe wall geckos I should try to deal with it.
Please help identify it... Puff adder. Poisonous. Deadly poisonous. |

ZUBY77: That's the point I am even trying to make. We simply don't know if there is any spiritual realm or not. When people die here, we burn or burry them. Nobody has ever returned to tell us about other places. Of course there may be other planets with living things, peharps in different forms from humans, but the truth is that Humans have not met them yet, or perhaps the whites have met them but chose to hide it not to scare everyone here. They whites are the only people doing something about it, in this part of the world, we are simply closing our eyes for nothing. Ok. Fair point. |

That’s enough to study law in a private university where admission is not very competitive. I wish him all the best in his academic pursuit. But literature for law is a mandatory JAMB requirement, that is, a NATIONALLY mandated requirement. I'd be surprised if private universities are now allowed to vary it. |

ZUBY77: No prayer is ever answered. when you do what you are supposed to do, there are two things involved, either it works or it doesn't. Why would this your all knowing God delay your prayers without telling you why and what to do to fast track it? Most black people don't know anything about the universe, they believe earth is the only planet around here. As a matter of fact, they don't even know there are places like Australia and Antarctica Interesting view. But what do you think of the universe? Do you think the here and now is all there is or is there some kind of other world, a spiritual realm perhaps? |

Yet a Tinubu supporter, an Agbadorian called hopexter, was confidently arguing in another thread that the same NELFUND loan is free education for university students. I read the article. A document has been released stating the procedure for repayment. No demand for any repayment has been made whatsoever. You're meant to repay when you start working. |

As a muslim, I know I have to account for each kobo I earn and how I spent it, before the Almighty on the Day of recompense. So, I try as much as possible avoid people's money. In another vein, the CBN should make it easier to return such monies. I remember a case where I received about 100k erroneously. I had to go the banking halls several times to make the refund, and we all know the stress of physical banks. Exactly. To return am sef na stress. See my post above. |

dequir: But they should not spend it at the same time.
The honest thing is to visit the bank at your convenient time, report the wrong transfer that they may put PND on it, and wait for the reversal. The banks are not always serious jare. First Bank and UBA stressed me to return 40k wrongfully sent to my account a couple of years back. Of course, I did not leave my house. I sent an email to my bank First Bank to request the reversal, no show. They informed me of the originating bank and forgot about the matter. Then I started emailing UBA. I had to threaten to write to CBN and NDIC before the money left my account. |

Islie: At first, doubt lingered. He suspected it might be an error. But caution soon gave way to excitement.
Within hours, the then 39-year-old made his way to the nearest ATM and withdrew a large portion of the money.
What followed was a spending spree driven by relief and delight: a hurried trip to the market to purchase items he had long postponed, followed by a stop at a nearby pub, where drinks flowed freely.
To Okoye, the money felt almost divine, reminiscent of the biblical account of the prophet Elijah, sustained in famine by bread and meat delivered by ravens.

Juliearth: You clearly don't own a car. Cutting your monthly fuel supply by 15k is very inconsequential to the overall fuel consumption in a month. That is less than 20 litres of fuel, which can be forgone. All poster needs do is cut down on unnecessary "waka about". You're going off on a tangent. I assume you own a car, so that makes you right? You, not me, brought up the matter of cutting on fuel. BTW, 15k (the figure you've chosen to make your point) may be inconsequential to your overall expenses in a month. So is the cost of cooking by gas or electricity. So are most things really. But they all ADD UP. So you choose where to cut. |

Kobojunkie: Look, his job is as provider and it is not his place to use his wife in saving any more money. 🥱🥱
2. Oh, so he has to resign from his job to cook with the stove? Yet, you claimed earlier that it was stress free? You wish for the woman to quit her own hustle in order to use the stove all while having us believe it does not add stress to her life? 🥱🥱
3. If your financial sense has you inconveniencing others to your benefit, then consider that you don't have financial sense at all. 🥱🥱 It's about the TIME spent cooking, not how stressful it is. Be calming down when you're reading. No, I did not say cooking (by any method) is not stressful. Be calming down when you're reading. |

Are there no other expenses that can be cut? Expenses such as cost of fuelling your car, hangout with the boys, alcohol, peppersoup..? See where dis wun mind go. So he should stop fueling his car. Kobojunkie: if it is so free of stress then the man should have no issues taking over cooking using it. 🥱🥱🥱
2. Why should his so-called financial sense have to impact his wife in any way of form? He should take full responsibility for the impact all by himself. 🥱🥱🥱
The woman is right in requiring he do better, and leave her out of the equation. 🥱🥱 You're not making sense. The woman is obviously cooking because that arrangement is convenient for them. You want him to resign from work to be cooking because electricity bill is high? Your financial sense should not impact your spouse? You're not making sense. |
Food › Re: The Hidden Danger Of Falling Food Prices In Nigeria by JuanDeDios: 6:55pm On Jan 23 |
TechToyin: Many people are happy that food prices are coming down. On the surface, it looks like good news. But there is a serious danger most people are not talking about.
Cheaper food is good for consumers, but not always good for farmers While buyers enjoy relief, many farmers are selling at a loss.
Cost of farming is still very high Fertilizer, diesel, transport, labour, and insecurity are still expensive. Prices fell, costs did not.
Farmers are losing capital Most Nigerian farmers use money from the last harvest to fund the next season. Losses now mean no money later.
Many farmers may not plant next season When farmers cannot afford seeds, fertilizer, or labour, they reduce production or quit entirely.
This leads to future food shortages Less planting today means less food tomorrow, which will push prices up again.
Nigeria has no strong price support system There are no effective minimum price guarantees or working buffer stock programs to protect farmers.
Poor storage forces distress sales Because farmers can’t store food, they rush to sell during harvest when prices are lowest.
Middlemen and traders also suffer losses Oversupply and weak demand affect the entire value chain, not just farmers.
Price instability scares investors away Serious investors avoid agriculture when prices swing wildly from profit to loss.
Low prices today can mean hunger tomorrow If farmers collapse, Nigeria will depend more on imports and face worse food inflation later.
Bottom line: The problem is not high prices or low prices. The real problem is unstable prices. If Nigeria does not protect farmers now, today’s cheap food will become tomorrow’s food crisis.

Kobojunkie: 1. Well, she has a valid point there. Why should she have to take on additional stress all in order that you can save yourself from the stress of having to do more to afford the bills? I mean, you are trying to give her more work to do because you don't want to have to do more work as a provider. That ogboju dem dey call that one. 🥱🥱🥱
2. What reason would you have to suggest she do that, though? Anyways, you could always divorce your wife and go find yourself a cheaper woman who wouldn't mind cooking using charcoal and taking on all the stress that goes along with it. Alternatively, you can take over cooking duty in your home so you can handle the stress all by yourself instead of stacking on to the stress your wife already has to deal with. 🥱🥱🥱 That charcoal stove is not particularly stressful. It doesn't smoke either. He's just trying be financially sensible so that they can afford house rent, school fees, etc., and maybe save something to build their own house or buy a car. Why are you like this? Na him sabi wetin him marry sha. |
