IkeIgboNiile: There's absolutely nothing wrong with dating an Ezenwanyi. The decision is yours. The church and nollywood have successfully succeeded in giving African traditional religion a bad name. I agree there's nothing inherently wrong with traditional religion. But I think its adherents are largely to blame for giving themselves a bad name. |

Rrchrd: I'm a young man of 30+ searching for a serious relationship, recently I met this Damsel in the hope of starting a relationship with her, my instinct told me to invite her to a church first which i did, she told me that she is a traditionalist that she doesn't go to church I thought she was joking until she sent me her picture she tight white garmet while practicing the stuff that she is an Ezewanyi.
She said though that her parents are christian but if she dare go to church that she must fall sick. An Igbo traditionalist young women. Hmm. That's an endangered species. Protect her at all cost. |

Nonsense..
USA, una don cast.. So Ebonyi is the safe state in the the SE, according to this one. Hmm. I also note Edo is not on it. During Obaseki's time, something was done about highway kidnapping and the menace has gone down drastically. Seems Okpebholo's effort to curb cultism, especially in Benin metropolis, is also yielding fruit. |

Sirianese: He's dead, there's nothing they can do with the corpse that could harm him in anyway...more to the point, he knew what the institution entailed, he went in there with his eyes open and spent all his life savoring the perks and privileges attached, but he found a way to doublecross the custodians and gyp them out of final rites required of him
People like him are the reason Nigeria is upside-down today, people whose words count for nothing except they're benefiting at the expense of the next guy. Hypocrites and sycophants. He's legal person, king or not. Morally and legally, a person has the right to determine what you do with their body, so his family and the state government were right to follow his wishes. Fair point that he knew what the institution was and enjoyed its perks, but he could argue that he only found out certain things after he was in. In any case, if he people of good conscience within our traditional institutions are beginning to find certain aspects of them repugnant to basic decency and good conscience and are trying to change things from within, I say carry go. Only those within can change the system and that's the only way our traditions can survive undergoing a baby and bathwater situation. |

Sirianese: People like Sikiru Adetona should never be crowned as kings in the first place; once you prioritize your western/eastern religious beliefs ahead of the cultural norms and spiritual practices of the town, don't even contest for the royal stool
Kingmakers need to stop being greedy and keep such hypocrites away from our traditional institutions Goodluck finding "people" who don't follow Christianity or Islam around here. I don't think Mr Adetona had any problem with tradition per se. I think it's just some secret rituals that may involve beheadings that his majesty disagreed with. It's a good first step in my view. Takeaway from all this: The best way to preserve our traditions is to rid them of harmful practices that any person of good conscience and Omoluabi ethos is bound to have problems with. It's not too hard. |

Even when the white man believes in African spirituality, the brainwashed black man does not believe.
A continent where you find educated people who believe a man in the Middle East died for their sins in Africa. This post makes no sense. It's people who believe in Christianity and Islam that believe in and even fear juju. I've never seen anybody who says "juju does not exist" who goes to church. Not one. |

Dogalmighty17: First of all, I LOVE BEER. Anything that gets in the way of beer, I avoid. I'll also say church became a problem instead of a solution. An empty basket that never got filled up. Always making one demand or the other from members. Churches expect members that offer them services to offer these services for free. I know of one incident where the church was owing their designer/printer for over 5 years! Sometimes the man uses his own money to print flyers for the church when the church said they don't have money. But that wasn't the case. The church didn't just prioritise his service. That same church could order sound systems worth 25 million naira from Lagos in 2012 but to pay a member 400k for services rendered was a problem. Churches USE PEOPLE!
Also have you taken time to notice that Christian assemblies are loveless and are just members competing against each other? Nobody gossips like church members. If you 'fall' instead of them to rally around you, they ostracize you and keep you at arms length. The only person permitted to fall and be forgiven is the pastor.
Christians don't love. They only carry out acts of kindness that makes them feel good or show off. Everything and everyone is a prop. Good points. |

AntiChristian: This are cool laws from the Islamic perspective!
I love Islam.
The child has no sin but is not attributed to the father, a law to punish the adulterer and the burden of care of the child placed on the mother!
What can we find in the Bible in this regards? "No one born of a forbidden marriage nor any of their descendants may enter the assembly of the Lord, even down to the tenth generation. Deuteronomy 23:2
I don't know why sins are hereditary in the Bible but not good deeds! If the child is not allowed to be attributed to the father, that's punishment for the child. |

No Prayer in Earth or in Heaven can change the Eternal Destination of a man who Died in the act of Fornication or Adultery. Don't you think it was short to make the actual progress on the electoral reform? Yes, it was short. I'm just saying that if he laid a solid foundation for anything solid, his VP/successor would likely have built on it to give us solid elections. |

Leonardo4: Lol you can't compare they are miles apart 1. He solved the Niger Delta militant problem Obasanjo struggled to address for 8yrs by bringing amnesty . 2. He is the only president nigetia ever had that brought down fuel price , sixty something naira per liter 3. In his tenure dollar was about 120 naira or so amd was very stable 4. The electoral reform was already in place as he agreed the system that brought him to power was flawed . He died b4 actualising that which would have suffocated election riggers 5. The 7 point agenda was actively followed with meaningful progress until his demise 1. I agree. 2. I agree. Fuel reduction is good for folks. 3. Nothing to do with Yaradua. Naira was always tied to oil prices. This is actually a point for Tinubu because he's the first president under whose watch we've seen signs of naira decoupling from oil. (If you don't understand this point, you can skip it). 4. I agree partially. He admitted flaws in the electoral process that brought him to power and made the right noises about electoral reforms, but not much meaningful progress was made. If there was, his successor won't have dumped it. 5. 7-point gini? It was mostly a list of talking points without any direction. I prefer Tinubu to Yaradua though, because Tinubu understands macroeconomics. Yaradua was too clueless to see beyond his own nose, that's why he reversed the sale of the refineries and took some decisions that made Boko Haram grow into a bigger problem. I don't like Bulaba's "subsidy is gone" without a human face, but at least, it will benefit the economy in the long term. |

DrMB: After peaking at over 34% in mid-2024, Nigeria’s headline inflation has now slowed to 22.22% in June 2025, marking a consistent three-month decline. So here’s the question: If inflation is falling, why are Nigerians still feeling the squeeze? The numbers suggest progress, but the markets still scream hardship. Is this the beginning of stability or just a pause? Of course, the market agrees. Yes, things are still very hard for working people, but prices of food and other items have mostly stabilized (with some reducing) over the past few months. Anyone that goes to market knows this. |
