osazsky: Yara dua reduced fuel from 75 naira to 65 naira..a dollar was 80 naira..tinubu increased fuel from 187 naira to 1,000 naira ..met the dollar at 350 naira and killed it till it got to 1,600
Well, this is market-woman level analysis of economics. It examines the price of pepper, which is what the ordinary man feels, not macroeconomic decisions and their wide present and future impacts. It's completely valid.
Personally, I don't think Yaradua was a good president. He was a statist who could not see beyond his nose. I don't like Tinubu, but, at least, he understands macroeconomics and tries to make decisions that will solve long-term problems. The only problem I have with him is the lack of human face to understand the near-term impact of his policies.
Eriokanmi: That's where we all stand in Lagos right now, I mean the obidients movement. Peter Obi or nothing. I'll kuku dash tinubu my vote. We must complete our 8 years shangiliti in the south.
Well, that should depend on who ADC's candidate is. I'd also take Tinubu over an Atiku.
Chidibe212: Hi guys, please I need your guidance on how I can become ADC party member.
I just visited Abuja and I want to register and become a member before leaving.
Any candid guidelines and necessary requirements needed please.
Thanks as I anticipated your kind inputs.
Abuja? Aren't you meant to join parties in your village/ward? Well, I guess you want to descend on them from the top and run with their presidential ticket. I'm with you all the way. Atiku and Obi won't be happy though. They think it's theirs - by hook or crook.
So they've acquitted Fayose. I always knew nothing would come out of that trial. Somebody that ran away from the country, then inexplicably came back, printed T-shirts and swaggered into EFCC's office for "questioning". And then the trial's been going on forever since then.
ElPhoche: I have the trees in my property. It depends a lot on how ripe the fruits are when they are harvested, because they are all dark. It can range from sour to sweet.
Is your property in Nigeria? I'd really love to know if they grow here.
Mariangeles: The first time I tasted blueberries, I was like what? Is that it? 🤷🏽♀️ They weren't sweet enough, neither were they juicy as I expected. In fact, grapes are exactly what I thought blueberries would taste like.
As for strawberries, that's a story for another day. 🙄 Oyibo people and hype.
Anyways, what have you eaten that did not live up to expectations in terms of taste?
Blueberries are very sweet. Please check what you ate again.
TallNigerian: This is so funny. Wetin concern Vietnamese criminal concern Eswatini? If Vietnam is unwilling to receive them, why should Eswatini?
Cash. At least, there'll be some form of payment–even if it's just a couple of new wives for King Mswati. Just kidding, maybe zero tarriffs, who knows? There will be payment sha. And I don't think they're free people. They'll likely be in jail in Eswatini.
fergie001: Members of the ADC Coalition: Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, El-Rufai & others today visited the family of the late former President in Daura, to express their condolences.
The bromance between Obi and elRufai is generating headline-grade pictures every day. Reminds me of the bromance between Trump and Putin.
seunmsg: The timing may be bad but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the message. It wasn’t a shade on Buhari but on the revisionist Buharists who are trying to rewrite history.
Image123: His post was the fact but very ill timed. Good thing he deleted. i have seen Obi make lying posts and delete. Atiku doesn't really delete, his fans don't care anyway. The post is fine +- 2days from today. It's a relief that we have a president and his team that make mistakes but listen to feedback. Obi's team are either beyond his control or he enjoys the dirty work they do on his behalf. Atiku doesn't really care about his team, same as the late fPMB. GEJ's team would blindly defend anything they put out.
It's not just the timing. The president's spokesperson has no business fighting "revisionist Buharists". Leave that for your army of keyboard warriors on Twitter and Nairaland and for smaller people in the government.
dominique: I don't know why people always think death is some kind of karma. Every soul shall taste death! No matter how good or terrible a person is, they're still going to die. This person you're mocking in death achieved an office 99.9999%of Nigerians will never achieve. He lived a quality of life a good number of Nigerians will never be able to afford. His children and their children are set for life. He lived to an age majority of us will not see. Even in death he won! Let that sink in slowly.
You're missing the message. Those speaking like this know all you've written. They're just using his death as an OPPORTUNITY to drag the ruiners of Nigeria and remind them that death awaits all, not matter how much money they pile up. That even foreign hospitals won't save you from death when your time comes.
Also, the "achievements" you listed don't prove that someone lived a good life. Abacha, Mobutu and Pol Pot had all those achievements.
Dr Aziegbemi is one constant fellow. He's been in the PDP since 1999. In a polity full of hoppers, jumpers, leapers and wannabe sprinters, Aziegbemi has won a marathon.
Respect.
For those at the back, the ones that are jumping are the politicians among them.
Kalulu44: Ok guys, here is another hilarious one that happen inside one of my friends danfo. . On this day, I closed early cus I was rushing to go meet an appointment. So after parking for the day around 4pm, I boarded a friend of mine bus from Agbara going to Mile 2. This time was when Morogbo police always patrol or sometimes station at a place looking for any danfo driver that will not close his door or his conductor is hanging. So I was sitting at the front discussing with my driver Friend. His bus is filled and his conductor was hanging, just before the bridge where customs are, was police patrol van parked one side and they stopped my guy and signal to the conductor to come down and meet them. My guy stopped and the next thing he did shocked me and all the passengers inside his bus and also got the policemen stunned. Immediately his conductor was walking towards the policemen, my guy came down and started mimicking deaf and dumb people with harshness towards his conductor. Telling him with hand signals that didn't he tell him to close the door. That what's wrong with him. Me and all passengers that were just some minutes ago talking to my guy were stunned, even the policemen just stood looking confused. The conductor tries to talk and explain, my guy still on his "bebebe talk" dumb mimicking, picked up a very big stone and wanted to stone his conductor, the conductor ran and he chased after him, so too policemen chase after my guy, till they caught him, collected the stone from him and begged him and his conductor to come and going abeg. . Hahahaha, omo I don laugh my Belle burst after my guy later entered his bus and his conductor did the same and he zoomed off. After we moved away from them, I immediately told him I am giving him award for Hollywood actor of the year, all passengers burst into a very big laugh. He too laughed at himself for what he did. His conductor too couldn't find words to describe him cus he was really afraid when he picked up that stone to stone him. At the end of the day that his act saved them 5k and time wasting from those policemen.
Kalulu44: I'm a danfo driver and have done Bolt before. If I should start telling all my experiences eh! Here won't contain it. Infact it should be episode by episode. . Ok let just give one funny and scary one, no jokes o but very true. I was coming from Mile 2 towards Agbara, we got to Alaba Rago and pick some passengers, after picking it was remaining just a seat left. We got to Cassidy bus/stop before Okokomaiko and I saw a guy who flag me down. I stopped even though I move a bit ahead of him. My conductor went to him and told him where we were headed to, as he was coming he motion to someone we cannot see to come along. On getting to where I parked, he said oh na only one seat remain but we be two. Honestly to man and God it was only him me and including my passengers was seeing. My conductor told him enter now no be only you dey here and insisted they were two and gesture to the unseen someone that they should wait for another bus. Na so I tell my conductor to hop in o make I move comot, e be like say dis one don dey kolo or ment. Some of my passengers even said "abi na spirit him be"
Wow, interesting story. Can you drop one or two more?
Roaches are poisonous. At least, this species is. Although since there are only two here perched on top of the soup, if you SCOOP them out, you should be fine.
The office of Vice President Kashim Shettima confirmed Mr Daura’s ill health in a statement while providing information on the vice president’s trip to London.
Mr Shettima, at President Bola Tinubu’s request, led a Nigerian delegation to London to bring back Mr Buhari’s body.
“On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, upon arrival in London, met with and condoled with the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
“The Vice President also visited the late President’s nephew, Malam Mamman Daura, who is recuperating in a London hospital,” the VP’s office noted.
“The condolence visits were conducted while the vice president awaits the conclusion of procedures and documentation for the repatriation of former President Buhari’s body to Nigeria.
“Vice President Shettima is accompanied by Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar; and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia.”
Urgent1Million: He came? YES. He saw? YES. He conquered? Definitely NOT!! He was overwhelmed. He was confused. He was a good man who accepted power from very bad men. They hide under him to wreck the country. He couldn't be everywhere. May his soul rest in peace.
Bolded sounds like a good assessment of the man, in my view.
Nemere2020: As military leader, he squeezed the economy in the name of enshrining a moral tone.
In his time as civilian leader, he choked the economy and failed as a moral compass. He might have made the claim that he was a moral leader in his first time with his war against indiscipline.
In retrospect, it was discipline without imagination or conscience. It was the same lack of imagination that throttled his way as a civilian president.
...
His following knew he could do no wrong. He might have lost some of his mystique to his failures, but if he ran for election again today in a coalition that guaranteed just a few millions from the south, no one can bet against him.
He is a testament to the futility of the crowd as a picture of wisdom. That is why we should be wary of man who, without clear vision, capture the imagination of the throng, a thing Elias Canetti warns about in his Nobel Prize-winning book, Crowds and Power.
First honest and intelligent take on Buhari I've read all day.
mrvitalis: Lmao obubu is over 6 hours away from calabar Just like tinapa are foolish projects
Nigeria has less than 3 million people that spend 10 dollars per day Cross river less than 5% of that
And you think it can sustain things like this
How many international visitors visit there yearly? Upto 1000 ?
If the place was sustainable banks would have taken it over
Not just banks, interventional investors too. Last time I visited the golf resort outside Uyo, I saw Indians running the place. Obudu was a white elephant if ever there was one.
