Atheism isn't a claim. It's the lack of belief in the existence of god or gods. It's more like Christians and Muslims say god is real and he exists but atheists say they don't believe in their claim because there isn't enough evidence to support it. They don't claim that there's no god, if there's enough evidence to prove that god exists, an atheist will be willing to believe. So, the burden of proof lies in the hands of those who make such claim.
