You aren't ready to have a partner or friend. I think you're looking for someone to boss around. I have a feeling that you think this way only because you've been an introvert that doesn't know how to relate with people. |
Medicine after death |
iruoghene7:I won't use the word 'belief'. I'm more of a pragmatic epistemologist in that i don't just accept any account based on hearsay or just stories. I try as much as possible to go through every logical reason before arriving at a probable conclusion. Moreover, whatever knowledge i gather regardless of how small should be useful in one way or the other. Well, i think i started to think about a number of things in relation to religion at a young age and came up with some ideas. For example, i was born in SW Nigeria and my family is a mixture of Muslims and Christians and Muslims which goes in line with the historical accounts of the relationship between Europeans and those that dwelled at the coast of SW Nigeria at that point. However, it also shows the vivid influence of the northerners who had a relations with the Yōrùbás over a long period of time in history especially in places like Kwara and Oyo. A look at the SE also points us to the limited penetration from the North but higher influence from the Europeans. In essence, what I'm trying to point to is that we're a product of what history bestowed upon us. If you were born in India, you would have probably been a Hindu, in Saudi Arabia, you would be a Muslim, in Italy, you'll most probably be a Christian and so on and so forth. So, does that mean my religion is right and everyone is wrong? Or does that mean I'm wrong and everyone is right? That's what kick-started my doubts before i delved into the Bible and did my mind get blown away... Yes, absolutely!!! |
iruoghene7:First, i was born into a Christian family but chose to leave the faith after series of studies which gave me a bigger picture in relation to the origins of religions and a whole lot. In relation to how the Bible was compiled, i actually don't know. And yes, i know the Bible quite well. We cam discuss issues within the book. |
iruoghene7:Ok. But sir, the same faith is what people of other religion use to justify their beliefs. Does that mean they're right and you're wrong or does that mean you're right and they're all wrong? Faith in my opinion is more like talking about probability. It either works or not and that calls for scrutiny in the way of evidence. You made mention of a baby knowing Jesus even in the womb, i think we both know that's impossible...lol... And if you've noticed, most people only follow the path of their parents in terms of religious beliefs. A Hindu will say a baby has been seeing Krishna from the womb. May i ask if you were born into a Christian family? http://www.lawofattractiongps.com/not-just-jesus-other-virgin-births/ https://gsgriffin.com/2016/12/08/other-gods-born-to-virgins-on-december-25-before-jesus-christ/ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/340871171_Historicity_Lord_Krishna_Recognized_by_Scholars_Long_in_Journal_Academic_Marketing_Mysticism_Online_JAMMO_Vol_2_Part_8_p84-90_23_July_2011_ISSN_2146-3328 https://www.esamskriti.com/e/History/Great-Indian-Leaders/How-science-discovered-the-historical-Krishna-1.aspx https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attis https://stellarhousepublishing.com/mithra/ https://www.researchgate.net/publication/312192708_Divine_Mothers_The_Influence_of_Isis_on_the_Virgin_Mary_in_Egyptian_Lactans-Iconography You can check these various sites out and let's see what's up. As for the wiki page, the sources are provided within every citation. I'll provide more if there's a need for it. The stories of the various deities are so similar to the point that one cannot help but ask questions like, isn't it that they copied one another and stuffs like that. In addition, outside the Bible, there aren't any contemporary mention of Jesus and there were a lot of historians around the area where Jesus "lived". I'm not trying to swerve your faith. I just want us to come to an objective truth. Shalom |
Depsui:This, sir, doesn't serve as evidence. I believe in the tales of the dwarfs because it's written in 'The Lord of the Rings" isn't good enough to point us to the truth and the Bible is just one of the many books that falls into that lane. |
iruoghene7:Well, i will drop the sources and yes they are mythical just like Jesus Christ. "It has never happened in history and will never happen where a virgin conceived and gave birth except in the time the LORD Jesus Christ." Sir, this isn't true at all. There are claims upon claims of people being born of virgins even before the mythical birth of Jesus. Jesus isn't the first. This is a fact. I'll be back with the sources after work |
iruoghene7:Thanks for the opportunity. First, let's look into the various deities that existed before Jesus. The first I'll like to look into is Krishna which means 'the anointed one' existed thousands of years before Jesus was born of a Virgin in 900 BC with a star in the East signalling his coming. A tyrant killed thousands of infants because he wanted to kill Krishna. He was a teacher in the temple, he was a healer who performed miracles, he was crucified between two thieves and resurrected from death. Another god was Attis who was born of a Virgin on December 25th 1220BC, He was crucified and rose from the dead after three days. Mithra on the other hand was a Persian god who was also born of a Virgin, travelled around with 12 disciples, performed miracles, died for 3 days and was resurrected, he was called the truth and the light and was worshipped on Sundays. Dionysus of Greece 500BC was also born of a Virgin, performed miracles, was referred to as the king of kings as well as the alpha and omega. Horus of Egypt was born of a Virgin around 3000BC and a star in the East signalled his coming, he was adored by 3 kings, he was a teacher at 12, began his ministry at 30, he performed miracles, had 12 disciples, he was crucified, died for 3 days and was resurrected, he was referred to as the lamb of God. By looking at all of them, you'll realize that they come from a relatively accessible geographical location. All the deities existed before Jesus and Jesus Christ has all those characteristics. How can one not say that Jesus Christ was made up as a combination of the deities that existed around that area at that point in time. I'll implore that you check this out by yourself so that it won't be like I'm making things up. Please, check them up in your local library or the internet. |
You'll be fine!!! Time heals, don't think too much about it... You'll be fine |
iruoghene7:Hahahahahah... Should i drop my reasons? BTW, i didn't drop evidences, i dropped claims. Claims can be true or untrue |
iruoghene7:You're insinuating that their books are occultic only because you've not studied about other religions, in order to come to the truth, there's a need to compare and contrast. BTW, do you know that Jesus Christ could have been a made up entity in history? Moreover, if you have extraordinary claims, there's a need to back them up with extraordinary evidence, saying someone like Jesus Christ walked on water, raised the dead, when he died, thousand arose from the dead and a lots more requires strong evidence for people to accept. Bro, I'm not saying you can't believe what you don't want to believe, I'm just saying that i think it'll be better to accept or reject things based on evidence. |
iruoghene7:The Holy Veedas went through a lot and still survived and the religion is way older than Christianity. Does that mean Hinduism is true? If we're going to come to a conclusion without being rational, there's no need to even start because that'll be Cos 90°. So, should i pray to lord Krishna to also point to whether Hinduism is true or not? |
Hmmmmm, Nigeria, i hail thee |
Zimri:Warthog |
Man, the comments here are disheartening |
poshestmina:I'm sorry but I'll have to disagree with you on this one. This current administration is the worst to have ever existed in the history of the world. You have to give it to them. |
iruoghene7:How did you come to the conclusion that the Bible is the word of God? |
FuckThaMod:I wonder where you get these info from |
PUNAengineOIL:Since you know, can you please tell us? |
#EndSars |
My man Zimri, where have you been? |
We're still in the 17th century. |
With the way things are going, our policemen will soon turn into mass shooters.. |
generalwo:Lol... I'm not saying your God doesn't exist o. I'm just saying that if he really exists, please prove it. Btw, if you were God, will you create the kind of scenerio that you just typed? Moreover, you said all these things are as a result of our disobedience, ok, so, God knows everything as in he knew that Adam and Eve were going to eat from that tree but he still decided to put the tree in the garden. My guess is that if the tree wasn't there, Adam wouldn't have eaten the fruit. I'm addition, check this out, the blessed trinity are three in one which means Jesus is God, God is God and the holy spirit too is God. So, God created the world, he decided to set up man by making them sin, then he was like... Damn guys, you have sinned, now i will sacrifice myself to myself in order to cleanse your sins... There's absolutely no logic in it.... |
generalwo:Okay, there's nothing God cannot do, so can God please cure everyone that has HIV, can he/she end starvation? Can he/she just stop kids from getting cancer? If yes, why isn't he/she doing it? |
VULCAN:Boss, i don't think there's anything wrong in calling out something that i think is wrong. Whichever way, you've voiced your opinion and the solar system is still the same. I called him out. I wasn't trying to make him believe what i believe. Have a nice day |
VULCAN:I have seen people domesticate animals like hyaenas and even pythons. There's no doubt about that. My focus was on the Daniel account and for him to claim a miraculous event without significant proof is what got my attention. It being written in the Bible isn't proof enough. |
Alphalite:Point of correction.. It isn't to God.. It's to his God |
VULCAN:I'm sorry but it seems you aren't getting what I'm trying to say. I was talking about the Daniel's account. I mean the one in the Bible. I have said nothing in relation to the bear. |
Lilgabby: |
generalwo:Apart from the story in the Bible, i haven't come across any account that proves the authenticity of this story. I have reasons that the story was entirely made up though but it's okay... kontinu |
It's still a wild animal |
