My auto-transmission 2001 CR-V stalled today while driving (the second time in 4weeks); the first time was at a right turn, just as I slowed down to make the turn, engine went off. Today, however, I was driving straight and speed was about 5-20 km/h when it happened- I was just taking off from a stop. Both times the engine started back immediately and I completed my trip with no other stall. Any ideas what could be the cause of the stalling? Extra info: Scanning still revealed no new codes besides the known codes I have, which are P0131 (the downstream O2 sensor is missing) and P0141 (this came up after I replaced the transmission a few months back) Prior to this though, the car would randomly stall only while driving in reverse- that stopped after I had the injectors serviced/cleaned. However, the problem is now reversed plus I get very high cold idle speed (about 1800rpm) with terrible mileage and oftentimes, there seems to be a drag changing from 1st gear to 2nd. |
Have you got any pictures? |
Yongi99:Just Kokorico; it's quite long-lasting but the scent just isn't 'inspiring'...lol |
Yongi99:Are you fed up with it already? What do you want for it? |
Infinitikoncept:Now,that's strange. I, on the other hand, have had no issues getting mail responses from them- they do weekdays only though. Maybe you should call them; check their website for a number. |
Infinitikoncept:First off, have you sent a mail to them? In their case, mails haven't been funny. I try to have all my items arrive at their office within the same week, before their shipping day (which is Friday) so all can be packaged as one shipment; items arrive Lagos the following Friday. If some deliver(ies) delay, I request they hold on shipping my items till the next Friday when all items would have gotten to their office. For instance, I ordered some items on amazon.com last week and I got called this morning to come pick up- which I have. So far, no complaints....I hope for none either. ![]() |
Infinitikoncept:Send a mail to help@allworldinternational.com and you should get a response with all details; they usually ship out on Fridays and you pick up a week later in Lagos. |
N35,000 for a paltry 8.3lb sounds really bad Yet to see anything against Allworld International. I use them as oft as needed (by air); however, I intend to try their sea shipping soon- hopefully, it's smooth sailing as well. Point to note, they are based in NY- so would be helpful for U.S- Lagos shipments. |
Kyb mayor2013: |
@mayor2013 Have you got rear shocks for '01 CRV as well?? If yes, how much? |
Anyone knows where I can easily get to buy a pair of SUV jack stands and floor jack (with capacity of at least 3 tons each) within Lagos? Similar to these:

GAZZUZZ:You do complimentary full tank of fuel too?? Abeg, I dey bring my car tomorrow!! |
Does anyone understand how the occupation ceiling works? Seeing as the numbers haven't reset as the new year opened today, does '2014-2015 programme year' mean the ceiling is for applications from Jan '14-Dec '15 or July '14-June '15??

LoyeKay:Div 1 isn't so hard- well, anymore. I sometimes maintain 3 seasons straight before getting relegated to Div 2 and thereafter "fire on all cylinders" to get back to Div1 after one season; the hard meat to chew is FUT. I have a lame team though, so blame it on that ![]()

Nita2013:The pump wifey got stopped working after about 2weeks back in Naija, so I called Medela about the warranty. According to a CC rep I spoke with, warranty is deemed nullified if you use a 110v model outside the U.S ( i.e. with a step-down transformer); the CC claimed this info was stated somewhere, either on their website or on one of the manuals with the pump. (Now, I never bothered to confirm the veracity of this claim though) Anyways, I was sent a battery pack FOC and it worked, thus indicating it was the adapter that got damaged. FWIW, it is advisable for anyone to get this battery pack as an accessory- just in case the adapter goes kaput. It takes 8 AA batteries. |
richmon74:If there ever was a Shock & Fire Hazard award- this, for sure, would take home the grand prize. Enough wiring to disorientate one's brain! ![]() Must have been a free installation; otherwise, I don't get how one can pay to have a setup like this. richmon74:You sure cleaned up the owner's corner. Kudos! |
Thanks @ Bellong, johnsontade, NNBB2012, ferdimako. Now scheming how to get the transcript across to myself. |
Hello house, For PR applicants, kindly tell, how was your academic transcript sent to the assessing authority? Engineers Australia has it as part of the documents to be uploaded; however, as our universities here only send it to other institutions I have never gotten by hand. Do I need to figure out a way to get it myself or I just have it sent to Oz directly? Thanks. |
So many people probably missed the 'Beirut' on the bill- which indicates it is not in naira but Lebanese pounds; meanwhile, the USD equivalent is indicated as well, but no, NGN 1.5million makes for better 'shared' news. Now, that is not as sad; the appalling part is the high number of people whose aspiration this is! ![]() Just so they can share a status update: "We ballin', just spent 1.5million x-currency on breakfast!" smh...really awful mindset. Black man change your mentality! |
Makes two of us who just made that vow...lolz. I had a similar flight too; when I called their office to inquire about that STPC and it wasn't standard procedure for my ticket class, I just boned and used the money shop somethings (not at duty free, of course!). I used my few Qmiles buy DF sha since I don vow. I had 8hrs layover going and 14hrs returning; I just camped at the airport staring at those metal statues- as if one of them would move ![]() Meanwhile, even the Dubai officers have their noses stuck in the air as well (must be a Middle Eastern thing, no?!) My own vow now is avoiding the whole M.E.- except as a last resort. It's actually a boomerang journey if one checks it well. And then, their carryon weight tolerance is way stricter than emirates- or maybe I was just unlucky (both ways Thank God for the free wifi though! |
Hello peoples, My wife delivered our 'bouncing baby boy' at Oakbend hospital two weeks ago; Dr. Fagbohun had planned her to come in on the evening of 23rd, however wifey woke up with enough contractions that morning to warrant us going asap. FF wasn't at the hospital at that time, so one of his doctors (Robertson) handled the baby's delivery. Meanwhile, during labor, if offered pain medication (stadol et al), please take it- there is no extra cost attached...lol. Make sure to feed WELL on labour day- as in, eat twice the amount you normally take, don't say "Baby is very big now, there's no space for much food" (this may be useful advice for first time moms). I sure pitied my wife cos when we arrived the hospital at about 11 a.m and the contractions were confirmed, induction was started and she wasn't permitted to take anything except ice and delivery wasn't until after 12 midnight. So, please feed well! Our baby was born with low blood level sugar due to stress during the 'pushing era', as well he had dropped some meconium in the amniotic fluid- thus he had to be suctioned right away and admitted into NICU Level 2 care; he was placed on IV while there, with some formula later on and for about two days after discharge- however, he is fully on breast-milk now. I was estimating a bill of about $800 max for this, but it seems NICS uses a different calculator sha. For this care, I was given a bill of 2130 Omo! I called NICS back, involved the hospital pediatrician as well the Medical Director; after much back and forth, they brought it down to 1200 as the lowest they could go; paid it and now waiting for the zero balance letter. Gotten that of Oakbend Hospital from the Jackson Street branch. As for accommodation, I got in touch with a couple of people here on info getting a standalone apartment but no such luck; eventually, Soulcare came through with a superb flat in the West Oaks area (close to Highway 6), with most things one could possibly need- a pool, gym, mall right opposite, most of the big name stores within 15 mins drive, less than 30 mins drive to Oakbend hospital; there's even a metro stop right outside my window- what more can a tourist ask for Even a Uber taxi cost me less than $25 to Oakbend hospital.Frankly, one doesn't have to live in Richmond- which is a typical 'have-your-own car' suburb. I was there briefly in January and ended up staying indoors most of the time. Anywhere between Richmond and the western part of Houston should be fine. I have gotten baby's passport today; next is the Nigerian visa. Congrats to all new mothers, 'visa-approvees' as well expectant mothers!
*edit* To clarify, the flat I eventually got isn't a standalone; we took 2rooms in a 3bedroom; the Masters bedroom is properly furnished such that only the kitchen is shared with the single flatmate therein. During my search, I realised getting a standalone is easier if one plans to stay for 3months at least. |
sayoberry:I met a celebrity too- Sayoberry. You are the only one with twins @FF at the moment nah! No hiding place ![]() |
Must have suffered the reformulation syndrome; albeit, in this case, probably a good thing. |

; therefore, my slim 160GB PS3 is up for sale.
, to it!*
