To the distinguished Engineers in d house, does EA accept scanned transcript or it must be sent directly from issuing institutions?
Thanks
Scanned transcript is what you need, actually. You upload it to the EA portal by yourself.
FashionRe: Bought A Fake CK Perf From Jumia And They Responded With This? SMH! by jukeblam(m): 8:37pm On Jun 05, 2016
CK Euphoria as a perfume itself doesn't last- even the Intense which you bought; it is just what it is. That 1 hour is all it needs to dissipate and be gone!

Maybe you got an original, y'know; or could also be fake as you mentioned.

Before buying a perfume, you can always check reviews on perfume sites- basenotes.com, fragrantica.com et al so you spend your money on a bottle that will make you happy.

In addition to fragrance.com.ng, you can check lofindaz.com; and if you are in Lagos, there's a place called Beauty & Fragrance too.

Hey Bro,

I really need to talk to you to ask some specifics.
I am a mechanical/production engineer just like you and i think your application kind of mirrors what i hope to do too.
I am still going through your post to learn a little about your application but i will appreciate if you can respond to my PM so i can ask specific.
I also wish not to claim work experience as my work experience is in Information Technology.
Replied already

Congratulations Jukeblam. Thanks
I intend to apply for my EA assessment, without claiming points for work experience. I would like to confirm if it is mandatory to provide employer's reference letters to support the work experience we are not claiming points for. You won't need to provide as long as no career episode is based on work experience

Also, is it possible for one to be successfully assessed as a professional engineer without engineering work experience but has both Bachelors & Masters in Engineering? If your CDR can convince the assessor, sure. EA assessment is required only to confirm the engineering degree you hold is comparable to a similar degree in Australia.

Finally, what are the implications of having the outcome to be Engineering Technologist? Not sure if there is any unfavorable implication. With a positive assessment even as an engineering tech, you can still put in your EOI

Hi juke! I also got into Unilag via diploma. Does your post above mean you didn't process your diploma transcript /certificate? That means you put the year you got into 200L as your year of entry yes?

I'm hoping I won't have to process mine as well.
Yes to the above. Stated my 200L year as 'start date of education'. Never knew diploma had a certificate sef... cheesy

Couldn't pay online with a GTB card, so I purchased a voucher from the centre. Paid into the centre's account and got the voucher code sent to me.

Jetspeed:
How much did you pay for the exams
I paid NGN 36,000 when I registered in February.

Congratulations Jukeblam...
To set the record straight for all, Engineer Australia has a peculiar way of assessing engineers. They use CD-R template to assess your knowledge and skill in the occupation claimed
'Once again', thanks!

mamajaz:
Please, can you expatriate on the PTE-A stuff. Does it mean I don't need the work experience if I can do well in this and it's like Nursing requests for IELTS alone.
Thanks while I wait
I hope bellong's explanation suffices. Cheers!

Did you speak with your normal Nigerian accent and did you take the test in Nigeria ( what center). I am beginning to think that my Nigerian accent is not favourable for the test, I might also try do register with your exam center.
Spoke with my normal Nigerian accent oo. Exam venue was UKEAS Opebi- if it would help; the setup was quite ok with minimal noise distractions.

Mechanical Engineer

Congrats to you, please what is your strategy for PTE speaking, I have made two attempts and scored 53 and 57. Kindly help.
For speaking, I actually watched a few youtube videos and then googled tips for speaking. One particular tip I remember is not to pause talking for too long- just keep talking; the mic shuts off after a few seconds pause and then all you get recorded is your speech before the cutoff which might be inadequate.

Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark any of the sites or videos, I would have shared. Just search google, you should find tons of tips for each speaking aspect.

Good day jukeblam,
Congrats on your grant, I'm happy to read it. This is the fastest I've read for a Nigerian.
Congrats once again.
Thanks! Actually, the fastest I read was for Johnsontade who had about 13 days or so.

Only after I read his, did I decide to up my language points by writing PTE-A (which thankfully I clinched in the first sitting), and not claim work experience points. Thanks to him for sharing, as well. Led me unto a shorter path.

It's highly likely that work experience verification would make an application take longer. I guess.

Hello house,
This here is just another grant story!

Woke up this morning to the 'mysteriously exciting' sound of my phone alarm; after turning it off, I checked my emails and therein, lined one after another smiley smiley smiley, were 3 emails containing 189 visa grants for spouse, baby and I! Good start to the day for sure!

My timeline goes thus:

11/07/2015 - IELTS L/R/W/S: 9/9/7/7.5 10 points
22/02/2016 - PTE-A L/R/W/S: 90/87/90/89 20 points
07/03/2016 - EA Assessment submitted (Fastrack)
16/03/2016 - Positive assessment received
16/03/2016 - EOI lodged with 65 points
23/03/2016 - EOI Invite received
05/04/2016 - Medicals and PCC
17/04/2016 - Visa lodged
27/04/2016- CO Contact for transcripts and baby polio certificate
17/05/2016- Transcripts uploaded
19/05/2016- Grant!

With PTE-A score of 20 points, I applied without claiming work experience points.

Thanks to everyone on this thread who answered queries, dropped their 2cents et al. They were quite helpful!
And for those still waiting, you shall receive!

Don't mind Fatayi Williams...they just want money. I never even took any Polio or Yellow Fever vaccination from them. I uploaded our govt hospital card showing we got the booster dose for polio to the CO, and for the Yellow Fever, i took the same booklet to the ports health. to get the card, and didn't have to immunise again. This was for we adults.

For the kids - All I did was upload my children's immunisation booklet to the CO...and it was accepted with no objection. Immi/Border Force has no issues with that. When it came to departure, I took their booklet to the ports health and they were issued a yellow fever card without having to immunise again.

One was 18mths old, and the other was 3/4weeks old when I did all these.

I don't know why Fatayi Williams gave another polio dose after 9mths. It is not only unethical, it is not WHO recommended. OPV/IPV ends at 10 weeks I think.

Upload her immunisation booklet (Front n Back) on your immi account, I can assure you it will be accepted.
I plan to upload it that way already. Thanks!

i have a baby too and i took her immunization record booklet to FATAYI williams it was rejected. They claim her last polio vaccination was at 9 months thus they gave her anoda drop. If you can i will advise you take your baby to Fatayi Williams have them give your baby the vaccination and collect your certificate.
Ok. Thanks!

How many months after your baby's last vaccination was this?

Jukeblam,

A scan of the government hospital card showing the polio immunisation will suffice. Not compulsory to get from Fatayi Williams.
Once again, thanks!

Anyone with a similar case who included a baby dependent can help out here.

I just got a request from CO requesting for baby's "polio vaccination certificate"; baby is just over a year old, so has had the OPV taken during one of the routine immunization days.

Would a scan of the immunization records booklet suffice as a certificate? Or the certificate has to be from Fatayi-Williams Clinic too?

Hi forum, what's the best way to register for PTE academic test, I tried registering on their website but I keep getting error.
tunai:
Hello Bellong, please am having difficulty paying for PTE online, is there any means I can pay with cash or draft like ielts, I need to register now. Thanks
On the pearsonpte website, locate the centre you would like to take your exam then call or email the provided contact(s) to purchase a voucher; this can be paid for either at the bank or via an online transfer- whichever suits you.

Once you get the code sent to you from the centre, use it to schedule your exam on the website.

bellong:
^^^^ If you have travelled out of Nigeria before, you probably will be asked. If you have no prior travelling experience, you may not be asked.
However, to speed things up and reduce the time taken to be asked and then processed, it is advised that you frontload them and all other including medicals and PCC.
Thanks.

Yes, it is 4years in Australia which is most times equivalent to 5years overseas except if you graduated from countries that have accord with them. I will advise you should use Professional Engineers template. They might ask you to put it in Engineering Technologist template rather than given you negative outcome. I know two different Engineers; one Mechanical (Unilag) and the other Chemical Engineer (Uni Ben)that were given Engineering Technologist. They applied for Professional Engineer Engineer but were given that.
Do you know if they both spent the whole 5 yrs in their various unis or they had ND-to-200level or HND-300 level progression? Maybe any of such could have affected, no?

So, does this totally restrict the jobs they can take or overlapping of duties sure happens over there?

I recently got my positive assessment as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical); and I did the diploma route into 200 level (Unilag). However, I had an extra semester that added a year to my graduation year and strikes that added another year to total time spent; maybe these peculiarities had an effect. Or maybe not.

I mean, the transcript would still show same content- save for the 1st year which is mostly general courses across the faculty.

You should apply via fastrack too.

You could use the IELTS to apply for EA assessment right away, while you register and take the PTE-A.
In the time taken to wait for the IELTS re-marked result (about 6 weeks or more), you would have gotten your EA assessment completed via fast-track, EOI submitted and maybe invitation received even.
