Still need help here. |
For sometime now, the gear selector of my 2001crv A/T gets jammed while in park and takes a few tries, after pressing the brake, to get it into another gear. Somehow, it moves into gear and then everything is fine. Now, this happens both with and without the clicking of the brake switch, and happens at any time. Also, the light indicator of the R gear and the reverse light now don't always come up when I shift into reverse. After shifting to R, sometimes, I wiggle the selector to have the R light come on- both on the dash and on the taillights. PTN: I normally use the emergency brake before shifting into park. The gear selector is the steering column type. I changed the transmission fluid earlier on in the year using the honda DW-1. Did 2 complete fill, drive, drain, refill cycles to flush out previous fluid. The car still reverses without the R light coming on; this I have done a few times as I had to JUST MOVE while making U- turns on two-lane roads- trust Lagosians to be impatient! So, any help here? Thanks. |
seunpayne: The level of cheating online can make person fear. I just try not to let it get to me most of the time. By the way I made 40k worth of coins in FUT with transfers. Feeling like Wenger right about nowWhat kinda cheating? Created players or some other thing? BTW, 40k?? That's a whole lot, man. How many transfers did you have to make? I'm yet to master FUT transfers, coins et al- so I usually run back to Seasons after one or two FUT games. jjk24: u probably didn't see dem sweat and emotion cus I fink dahs all for d next gen version u def dnt need a bigger tv!!!Oh no, it sure is for this version; and I have seen some sweat now, lol- not a big deal though. And then, shots get missed A LOT!!! Annoying!! On the plus side, AI is not as predictable as in previous versions too- noticed now. |
seunpayne: 13-15 and you didn't notice anything apart from graphics. ...ok o. God will help you see things that are in front of you....amenHahahaha....amen oo! Thing is, I was playing Seasons on 13 and within two days, I dropped from Div 1 to 4; it was more hilarious than it was painful. In that Div 4, I lost the 2nd match 1-0. Then, I 'para-ed' and ordered the 15. So it wasn't like I played 13 two years ago and then 15 now. No, my comparison are hours apart. Could be I am not a 'prophet' to "see things that are in front of me"; who knows, not everyone is 'called'...haha. But frankly, that's just what I see at the moment- better graphics, different menu. I have even played AI now, but I don't see any obvious changes yet. mahyowah: you seem to be a perfectionist, your critical views & analysis shows that you're or you were once a game lord.Afi game lord na! lol! True though; probably was- during PC, PS1 and 2 days. Now, it's just soccer and GTA on PS3. |
From Fifa13 to 15- I never played 14. But it just feels like a resprayed car with a new stereo, that's all. Graphics, seem better. Gameplay still feels the same, however! I'm yet to see the sweat and emotions though(or maybe I need a bigger TV) Played online only- since my 'discovery of the internet', no more AI games. That smug feeling that comes with whooping one Aussie or Somalian dude ranked way higher than me, is all I play for. Expectations haven't been surpassed, just met. Maybe later updates will improve gameplay- would def be a plus. |
Yes, they do- but not as much as you get on becoming an officer. |
Orunto: Yes! They are paid like Pilots. Risky jobs demands risky remunerations, so their salaries include "death allowance".Hilarious response! "Like pilots indeed!" You will not get paid like a pilot! More like 200k+ for a 2nd Lieutenant (the starting rank) currently. For Naval Officers, promotion is every 4yrs- confirmed; meanwhile, doctors get promoted after the first 2yrs, then every 4yrs. However, promotion takes a political tone as your rank gets higher- I think from Captain or so. You choose your ‘uniform’ (Army, Navy or Air force) on entry into the NDA but can switch in your 3rd year. So, yes, cadets go directly into the Navy; or Army; or Air force. |

Simple as it sounds, finding that "someone" isn't always that easy...lol. Most naija mechs can easily screw-up a simple car job; even the so-called Honda place et al are not exempt. I'm open to recos though. |
Seems I spoke too soon. The car showed some hesitation before taking off from a stop this night. @Gazzuzz, I got the Honda timing belt from luvinhubby. Know any shop with a timing light where I can get it fixed totally? As in, the mechanic has done his 'best'...he can't do better than this. Four attempts oh! |
That would be The Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki. |
Yes, I thought of that possibilty; but I had plans to replace certain parts that could cause great damage if it failed during operation. Alternator belt replacement I can do, but not timing belt. Now I have it back, but it still doesn't feel the same- could be my psyche though. However, no issues, no error codes. |
So, have you gotten it yet? Well, if not, buy it at The Game. It goes for 840 there while it's 1799 at Shoprite! So much for "...lesser prices you can trust". |
At start-up in the mornings, there used to be this shrill sound coming from the belts in my engine. Vehicle is a 2001 CR-V 2.0L 4-speed A/T. I figured I might as well perform preventive maintenance on the belts, since I wasn't sure which had or hadn't been changed by previous owners. For starters, I chose to have a mechanic replace the timing belt (and water pump) due to time and difficulty. Now, this is the day I rue till now. Picked up the car late in the evening and noticed hard starting and rough idle at an RPM twice the normal (1500 vs 730!!) As well, if I pulled up on the accelerator pedal, the vehicle would stall. Error codes were cylinder misfire on all 4. Had it returned the next day for re-adjustment- as obviously, the timing is off. Got it later in the evening; after driving for some time, the rough idle returned. I wasn't able to return the car until two days later; this time I stayed with the mechanic to see and also tell how to proceed- based on what I had garnered from Honda forums. Current problem: After a day of driving, I noticed low power when accelerating; mostly from a stop. As well, the reverse gear has very low power- I couldn't reverse uphill an incline of roughly 20 degrees. Also, the reverse light doesn't light up every time I put the gear in R- I have to wiggle a little to get the light on- but it would move without the light coming on. Now the error codes are: 1. P0170 Powertrain Fuel Trim (Bank 1); and 2. P0172 Powertrain System too rich (Bank 1) Taking it back tomorrow to have the timing belt re-adjusted. Again! I don't think there are any bent valves, but I worry if the period of driving with timing off could have affected the transmission?? By the way, the shrill sound is no more- there's bigger fish to fry. Sadly. |
CityNG: I missed this. It's a paint spray that can be used on wheels, badges, chrome, grille or even the whole car. Though not used for high temp areas- like engine cover and brake calipers/drums. It gives a protective and long-lasting coating, while changing the color- and it holds up well against abrasions et al. Plus, it can be peeled off if one gets bored with the look/color.

Awhile back, I was seriously planning to come for an Msc there, but then my plans changed. However, there is still a possibilty in the future though. Maybe, just maybe. When you talk about the business possibilties there, can you give examples? (Please don't say fishing!) ![]() |
So, how has life after the Msc. been in Newfoundland? Have you gotten a job there or started some good business? |
Plastidip. |
You should get at the Lekki Shoprite- don't know about Game. Surulere definitely doesn't have; I've checked a couple of times. |
Joebo: Are these still available? If yes please PM your phone number. ThanksYes, still available. |
Edit: SOLD! I have four bottles of Honda ATF DW-1 for sale! I purchased a carton (12 bottles) of the DW-1 earlier on in the year, to do a complete transmission flush on my car; after the 2nd fluid change, I realised I didn't need the third. And now, I need to clear out any 'unused items' in my store. Price is 12k for the 4 - that's @ 3k each. And, there is a 60% full bottle inside the carton- for free!! Where on the Island are you? I could bring them around, over the weekend.

jukeblam: I am not able to get a reference letter from my previous place of work- due to "company policy".Any help here? |
I am not able to get a reference letter from my previous place of work- due to "company policy". What documents do I need to collate to solve that aspect of the application? P.S. My payslips during my time at the company were electronic and have been lost, so I won't be able to include those. |
ferdimako: I told u to go for it if u used dat bomb. So British Council remarked without collecting money? They use that N15K to scare folks away...thereby raking up so much fund. Pple dey suffer for dia hand. I don talk am finish.Yes o. I just deposited the draft back into my acct on Friday sef. Frankly, during all that period planning next steps I was just imagining the revenue BC makes from IELTS alone and the thought bn dey worry me! A legitimate money-spinning venture at the expense of the Nigerian man! Choi! |
jukeblam: Has anyone ever requested a test re-mark from IELTS??Right after I checked the result online, I had visited BC (armed with the 15k bank draft) to request the EOR. Was told my paper result wasn't ready, so I couldn't apply for the EOR. I checked back four days later and this time, I was told my result was already being re-marked thus the delay in printing; I figured God had taken over to help me save money and I just look the bank draft for my hand say "Oh well, money saved" .Called another four days later to confirm the result was ready for pick-up and response was in the affirmative, only to get there same day, story story: "Server is down, we cannot print".....anyways, I demanded the result be mailed to the address I provided during registration; after all, the website stated : "You will receive a copy of the result"- na part of my 35k naw. Got the UPS mail on Friday and my Writing section re-marked with a score of 6.5. Saved money as well, as I had planned to register spouse and self for the available September date. Still waiting on WES evaluation now. |
Ok. Seen. I'll still request the EoR, as I don't believe my writing could have been that bad. |
Hmm...sumptuous indeed- but e no belleful ![]() Thing is, I used that BOMB (Ryan Higgins?) which probably originated from you- so I wonder why the low score still. Bad as e bad, I expected a 6.0 minimum score. Anyways, I'll appeal and keep checking if a closer date opens up to re-register- the nearest available date is in Sept.(An EoR would have been complete by then). Otherwise, I register for Sept. Just hope my NOC isn't filled up by the time I send in my application. @damkollins Was your friend's demand in Writing or Speaking? As these are the sections that can have subjective scoring. |
Has anyone ever requested a test re-mark from IELTS?? Can it be worth it or best bet is to resit? Listening: 9.0 Reading: 8.0 Writing: 5.5 Speaking: 7.0 Overall: 7.5 SO CLOSE!! That 'writing section' just killed all my efforts.....dang! |

@ Mr. Sylva, In addition to the full body respray, do you remove the rims to do a complete respray? Or you respray with the tires still fitted? Thanks. |

and I just look the bank draft for my hand say "Oh well, money saved"
